Beware of these folks! I ordered a Raider Voyager 2484 with a Honda BF250 a few years back, all went well enough, the boat was delivered on time and as ordered. I used the boat a few times and noticed cavitation on turns and in following seas. I examined the cavitation plate relationship to the bottom of the boat and it looked 4 inches to high, I took pictures and showed them to the service manager and sales staff, they dismissed it and said the installation was proper and pretty much said there is nothing they would do. I had trips planned and fishing to do so I used the boat as it was as under most conditions it was fine and performed well. The BF 250 will basically shut down as a self protection function if it senses over rev or cavitation. I had a qualified Honda service tech look at it the other day and he said the installation was not correct and it should have had a 30 inch lower unit not a 25. The modification will cost me $3800 but I am willing to pay it in order to have a safe boat in following seas. I suggest buying your boat elsewhere! read more

Boat Sale: We were instructed by Aaron to bring a 2101 Trophy from Edmonds WA to Maryville WA for review. The trip took 1 hour and 20 minutes by water. Upon arrival at Boat Country there was difficulty removing the engine cowling to see engine and so they were unable to check out engine and boat. We asked if they would at least remove boat from water and place boat on rack to work on engine cowling and boat country refused. Boat Country does NOT have dock mooring at there facility and indicated Dagmar marine could provide moorage, however, there was a four (4) month minimum contract fee. This was NOT an option so we were left with boat without any moorage an option as we terminated the previous moorage and could NOT return to Edmonds WA marina. This action transpired on 31 Dec 24 at Boat Country from 0900 -1100 hours. Boat Country closed at noon on 31 Dec 24 and with the new year the next day we were stranded with boat on water and NO storage option. Aaron indicated we could check with Bayside Marina in Everett, which was helpful as they allowed temporary dock usage until we can get engine cowling repaired. Aaron was a reasonable staff member, however, TYLER, was extremely RUDE and needs training on customer relations. With the holidays and early facility closings we were left stranded by BOAT COUNTRY - Marysville, WA. I would NEVER refer and customers to deal with Boat Country for any sales or purchases. read more

Let me start with advice: Pay the extra cash and take your boat to a dealer with a quality online presence. It may cost more at first, but it will probably have a better chance of selling for a better price. My story: I listed my boat with Boat Country in September of 2022. My boat finally sold in September of 2024 for 57% less than the "original comprehensive value assessment". I had called a few places, and Boat Country had a good storage rate, lower commission, and made a lot of promises. Since they were the biggest used boat deal in the region it should be a no brainer. A quick review of their website and you will see promises such as: We give you a free comprehensive value assessment We have tapped into the Canadian Market heavily Don't waste time selling on your own! We simply do all the work for you. My boat sat for 2 years and was sold for $19,500 less than the original supposed value of 36k. I received no official assessment. They merely asked what I wanted for it. I said $30-32K and they listed it at $36K. They don't have records of boats that have sold and can't provide values. Other dealers can. Originally, they had the price set at $36k from September 2022 to June 2023. I was assured it would probably sell during peak season in April since my boat was a desirable model, however no offers came. I found that they did not lower the price as we discussed. I figured I might as well use it if I'm paying for it, so I eventually took the boat out of there during July and August 2023 after it didn't sell but relisted it with them in September 2023 for $26k. I had to ask them to lower the price each time. They never initiated a price reduction and when I would ask them about it they would just say "It's just slow" or "That size boat isn't selling right now". In reality, it may not be selling at the listed price, but they never could say what that size boat is selling for. In the end, I found the buyer by listing it on my social media. I had to mark it as low as I could to move it, so I didn't go into a third winter season paying the storage fees, insurance, and loan payment. While on their lot, the top got ruined. It seems that being located next to the highway only transfers road grime to the boats and they don't wash or rinse them. Their gravel lot gets hot and they let the weeds grow freely. A simple stroll through their lot and you'll see boats covered in black grime and rotted canvas. I doubt they arrived this way. My top got ripped after a windstorm and they did not tell me about it. I replaced the front window panels and they also got ruined with grime. They left the door open several times with the keys in the ignition. My batteries completely died twice as well since my boat got unplugged and the cord put in the boat. When I dropped off my boat I trusted their contract that stated "Broker, in consideration of this listing agreement, agrees to use his best efforts to sell said boat." I should be able to trust that they are working behind the scenes to sell the boat. This means advertising, maintaining the lot, taking quality pictures, including a well written description, using social media, regular price analysis, etc... They did nothing to advertise my boat other than list it on BoatTrader with blurry photos and a 1 sentence description... "The boat is in great shape and ready to go." They didn't list my boat on social media or any other websites except their own (with no description). When I came in to ask them what I needed to do to get it sold they said "People aren't coming to the lot." and "It's slow right now". My boat sat for 2 years. They never washed or rinsed it. That was my responsibility as well. They never called to strategize or lower the price either. I had to take charge of that. In the end, my 2004 Bayliner 2855, sold for $16,500. This is around $20,000 less than their original supposed value. I eventually posted the boat on my social media, negotiated a rock bottom price, and sent the client to them. I still had to pay a $3,000 commission and a $150 documentation fee. Pay the extra cash and take your boat to a dealer with a quality online presence. They fit me into their rigging schedule, replaced my aging tach/hour meter and trim gauge, found a faulty water fuel separator and replaced it, and gave me a good deal on a new 6 gallon tank with hose fittings. I bought a Stabicraft boat through this firm and am quite disappointed. The boat is fine, but the work they did on it was substandard and their communication was (and is) terrible. I don't think they ever called me back in a timely manner, and they had a dozen chances. The problems with this firm are ongoing -- I just sent them a list of 7 items which they said they would respond to 3 days ago, and I have heard nothing from them. Some of the items include major things like the motor won't raise to it's full height position, which leaves the lower unit in salt water all the time and can damage the engine and/or transom when trailering, the tape holding all the wiring to the boat has failed and all the wiring is hanging down, and the hatch cover won't close and allows salt spray and wash down water to get into the cuddy area. There are many more problems, and this is all on top of the fact that they told me the work would take 2 weeks and they took 34 days. A note: my background is in construction -- I was a general contractor for 40 years and have built hundreds of custom homes and am the author of Making Money in Construction, subtitled A Guide for Contractors and Subcontractors. Every construction project requires at least a dozen subs, and if you do the math you can see that I have been on one end or the other of several thousand performance contracts. So I speak from experience and I know what I am looking at here. My advice, stay away from Boat Country. If my experience is any gauge, they will do bad work, then ignore you when you try to get them to fix it. read more

My family and I are very pleased to find such a family-oriented business that truly does go out of their way to make sure their customers are happy. I do want to give a shout out to Derek, and Dustin who did the majority of work on my boat, and that outstanding job they both did on it Needed some work done on the boat that were minor repairs, and after further evaluation with the Dustin he showed us some problems that needed to be fixed immediately to keep the life expectancy of the boat going. I really like the fact that they do not beat around the bush, and are really looking out for your best interest in your investment. Definitely like the fact that they gave us the best option possible to fix our vessel. The quality of work that they've done was outstanding, and their customer service meats that expectation as well. I highly regard, and recommend this place to anybody. My wife and I drove all the way up to Everett from Yelm to look for a boat at the advice of a co-worker, a 1.5 hour drive one way. I will say it was well worth the trip. We dealt with a salesman named Mike. Right off the bat he started asking the questions to help us decide what it was that we were looking for (we're first time boat buyers). After taking a great deal of his time, to which he was VERY patient and no pressure, we found a slightly used one that we really liked. When we were walking in to the office to let Mike know (yes, he let us walk around and talk without hovering!) he came out and let us know someone had just put a deposit on it. We walked around and looked a little more but nothing really jumped out. The beat thing was, Mike didn't try to pressure us into buying something that we really did not want just to make a sale. Would I go all the way back up there? You bet! The only reason it didn't get stars is since we didn't actually purchase a boat we don't know how the rest to the experience would have been, hopefully we will find out next time!
