The service manager deciding to increase the hourly rate at the last minute. Watch out!

My experience with the service department has been downright terrible! I felt like I overpaid and then at the end even got personally insulted after I asked the service manager to explain the hours. I took in my boat to get a kicker and down-rigger mounted. As time went on, I suspected the service manager was taking me on for a ride partly because the hours started to balloon such that he was quoting me over 4000 bucks towards the end. I decided to call another shop (that came highly recommended) and they quoted substantially less hours for the same jobs. I called him and said I didn't want any more work done on my boat. At this point, I just wanted to get my boat out of his shop and into the hands of someone I trusted. I expected to pay for 5 hours for mounting the kicker and the down-rigger (without the wiring) based on our conversations. Then over text he says it would be 7 hours, which then became 6 hours at the shop. When I asked him to explain why he was charging me 6 hours, he got angry and started to personally insult me at his office. He told me to just go and pay, and was very disrespectful. He also told me that "you people" don't know how to do anything with your hands, which did not sit right with me and a part of why I'm writing this review. I go home and realize that he actually charged me 130/hr on my bill, which is strange because he made it clear to me on multiple occasions that it was 120/hr. I have documented proof. I have attached a clipping of the quote where labor was quoted at 120/hr and clips of the receipt where I paid labor at 130/hr. Was this his last way of getting money out of me? Complaint with the BBB is coming.

After mooring for 2 months where she sits on the beach at low tide, I'm pretty impressed. No barnacles, just a gray scum line on the sides. and the best news, my top speed is the same or better than it was as bare glass. the only place I'll have to touch up the paint is a very small spot where the back edge of a bunk hit when I brought it onto the trailer. But that's my fault for not fixing the hole in the carpet. I would recommend Your Boat Shop for paint. Nice people.

We brought them a well maintained boat with no known transmission or drivetrain issues. They replaced our engine mounts but did not perform the alignment in the water afterward. Less than 20 operating hours later, our port transmission failed while we were underway in the middle of Puget Sound with our 3-year-old and newborn baby onboard. What followed was more than $25,000 in damage, repairs, towing, haul-out, inspections, and expert review. Multiple surveyors and marine professionals have since confirmed our findings: the failure was tied to misalignment after the engine mount work. This did not just cost us money. It took away over a year of boating with our family. We tried repeatedly to work with Your Boat Shop and hoped Dirk would take accountability, or at minimum engage in understanding what happened. Instead, Dirk declined to participate in the investigation and ignored our calls. The burden of investigating and repairing the damage fell entirely on us. This was also not an isolated concern. We had referred friends to Your Boat Shop, and their boat was also damaged after work performed there. They ultimately had to have the work corrected by CSR Marine, over $10,000 in damages. Mistakes can happen. What matters is how a business responds when they do. In our case, the response was deeply disappointing. I strongly urge other boat owners not to be fooled by the great reviews or attractive pricing. Based on our experience, I would not recommend Your Boat Shop for engine mount, alignment, shaft, transmission, or other drivetrain-related work. The risk and cost are far too high.

He removed the wires, plugs, carborator, distributor cap, and roter cap ect... to find out that NOTHING had been replaced.
