I have a 15hp Mercury 2-stroke outboard engine that had a frayed and stretched control cable. The engine wouldn't shift between drive, neutral and reverse. I took the engine to Performance Marine who conducted a very thorough inspection of the engine and recommended I get a tune-up and service the water pump as well as fixing the tiller cable. I also had one transom bolt that was stripped and they replaced that as well. This engine is a workhorse and I have had it for decades with no issues. It is reassuring to know it has now been professionally inspected and tuned up. I will probably get many more years out of it. Ironically, after I picked up the engine from Performance Marine, it was literally a YEAR before I put her in the water. When I finally did, I was nervous (and a bit embarrassed) that I had never tested it after the repairs. To my delight, she fired up on the second pull! Do not take your boat to performance marine in Everett.they don't do what they say what they are going to do and they gouge you. Not to be trusted.Also the manager at the front desk and there mechanic not friendly and rude. They told me ineedeva new $8500 engine and found out later at a different mechanic it was a rocker arm bolt got loose needed to be tightened. A 3 dollar part from auto zone. Be ware. read more

I've been going to performance marine for several years now and I've been remiss not writing a review. Dave, Shannon and the rest of the crew are always professional, courteous and get the job done. I've never had any issues with them (I can't say that for other marine shops in the greater Seattle area). Sometimes these guys will even do more than what was asked for and won't charge you for it. These are obviously small things. For instance, they replaced my license plate holder as mine had a crack in it. They also fixed my trailer lights one time as a courtesy. Most recently, they installed my downriggers and a kicker motor on a new boat that I just bought a couple of months ago. Everything works and looks great! Bravo to Performance Marine! read more

Great business. We are first time boat owners and they give us great advice even on the couple of times we've gone in and didn't buy anything. They never talked to us like we were stupid. When we went shopping for a kicker motor we went here to check out what they had. They had a really nice used Suzuki 9.9. They called me when it was ready so I brought our boat in to get the kicker installed, and I asked if they could also check an alarm the boat was getting. They had the boat ready earlier than expected and took care of the alarm issue. Really quite pleased with this place. Poor Service. Unreliable product installation. My Dad purchased a Panther Remote Control for our Kicker Motor. 3 Trips out and a winter storage and the Panther wont turn. I was told if I bring it down they would take a look at it and make fixes that would take 2 to 3 days. I brought the boat in and they started saying its over a year old and basic side ways imply that its out of warranty. We have only used the kicker 3 times. Side note I just looked at the gear case cover and they used stainless wood screws in some of the machine screw holes. read more

I have a 1994 Sea Ray 290 Sundancer. I started taking my boat to Performance Marine since 2016 after having a collision on some rocks. I ruined my propellers and the lower unit. I took the boat to Performance Marine and they fixed it. I ended up paying more than $7000 for the damage. I was happy after they fixed my boat BUT... on my next service I asked them to install a fish finder. They did, but they used the anchor switch to get power for the fish finder. I couldn't use the anchor anymore, I had to drive my boat back to get that fixed. On another service I took my boat to Performance Marine to winterize it and I paid more than $700 dollars and went I got home the toilet was full of urine and the waste tank was halfway full. I talked to Dave and he told me to put some antifreeze in the toilet, I asked him if we have to empty the waste tank first and he said it will be ok with the antifreeze. Every time I take my boat to them I leave with a bad experience and bad quality on the labor. The last time I took my boat it was about a month ago . I requested to replace both of the bilge pumps under the engine, replace the all around light, replace the impeller pump and to replace the oil pressure gauge. Dave called me to tell me the they have to replace the fuel pump also so I agreed. Dave called me to let me know the boat was ready, I went to pick up the boat on a Monday, I paid over $2750 dollars for labor and parts. Something I don't like is that nobody shows you the finished work to make sure you are satisfied. I requested that to Dave before and he said to me everybody is busy. I went to look at my boat and I found out the brake light in the trailer was broken. The all around light was the worst service ever, I don't know who fixed the light needs to find a different job ,that mechanic used a drywall screw to hold the light in place and he left a 1/2 inch of the screw out and on the exposed cable he used electrical tape that looks horrible and its going to get burned by the sun. What kind of service is this? I got charged $70 dollars for the parts and 1 hour $125 for labor. The light is still loose and he only used a grinder to remove the screw. When I talked to Dave about not being happy with the service he shook his head and he told me to leave the boat. The day after, Dave left a voicemail that my boat was ready. I called them back saying i wasn't going to be able to pick it up until Saturday because I work in Seattle and i get off at 4 pm and i don't get enough time to drive to Everett before they close . They said it was fine, but i got more calls from Dave saying the boat is ready and is taking so much space you need to pick it up. Finally, I picked up the boat and took it home and looked in the engine and the cover for the carburator was missing the nut to hold it. I saw some water under the engine and i turned on the boat so I can use the bilge pumps and what a surprise, they don't work. I asked to replace both because only one was working and now none work. The oil pressure gauge wasn't even replaced. I asked Dave if it was working and he told me it was when it wasn't. I called Performance Marine and I requested to talk to the manager and they told me he was busy. I asked for his E-mail and they said he doesn't have one. REALLY??? A company this big and the manager doesn't have an E-mail? And they said we can't give you his phone number either. I'm very disappointed. I paid a lot of money but every time there is an issue with their service. In my experience they don't care how it looks after or if the customer is happy. read more

They are a joke and a rip off. Our boat was stripped of everything while it was in their yard for repairs and just happened to be in the one "spot" that the cameras don't show. Even the police said they thought it was an inside job Also we went from a v6 to a v8 but did you thing they mentioned we should replace the outdrive nope After our terrible experience there and about 8g later we took it to bayside marine cuz it wasn't running right even tho we had a warranty on the engine we weren't taking anymore chances Bayside hooked us up with a new outdrive which was the problem and said performance defiantly knows when you go up in engine size so does the outdrive Most horrible experience ever they should be shut down period read more

I took my boat in for repair. It was there for six weeks. When I got my boat home, I noticed that the swim platform was gone. When we called, they said that it was not their problem. they said it wasn't there when the boat came in. but they didn't have the video to prove it. I had to pay $500 to replace it. read more

warning! if you have a nice boat that you take care of and keep clean do not take it here. I took my boat here a few years ago to winterize it and a oil change it took me a full day to clean up the mess they dragged a oil hose or something black on all the interior leaving black marks everywhere this year when I took it in I asked them to please keep it clean. when I got home it was the worst I have seen yet when I got parked I noticed oil all over my trailer and prop so I opened the engine cover and there was over a quart of oil laying on the bottom of my boat there is also black oil streaks all over the carpet of my engine cover causing me to shampoo the carpets. With the drain plug being out and me driving over 40 minutes to my house not sure how much oil came out of the boat on the drive home. I did call and ask the service dept what is going on and apparently the mechanic put on the oil filter did not tighten it all the way and started the boat which my engine is pristine and now there is oil everywhere. Apparently they put on a second oil filter and fixed the issue but decided not to clean up any of the oil that is now everywhere on life jackets and boat bumpers and anything that is stored in my boat underneath The one thing I will say good about them is they're nice people everyone I have talked with and they did get my boat in right away and did it really quickly the price has doubled since I did this two years ago and I think for almost $700 I should've not had to clean my boat for two days and still have oil everywhere they did offer to clean it up if I brought it back but the boat was parked for the winter and to drive back 40 min both ways and leave my boat again for another day was not the best idea. this place seems to be more of an outboard place or a beat up bay boat service center don't take your nice boat that you care about here you could be disappointed and spend a lot of your own time cleaning. I am not one to complain or write reviews but this warning needs to go out it was not $700 well spent for me I will be doing it myself or taking it somewhere else next year. read more

My experience with this company was horrible. They told me they were unable to diagnose the fuel leak on our 2 stroke 8 hp Suzuki outboard because we never brought a fuel tank to them for them to hook the engine too. We mailed them the quick disconnect fitting after dropping the engine off with out it. They said they were still unable to hook up the engine with our full tank. We also asked them to fix the fuel delivery system in side the engine compartment. They did not and still charged. Us for the repair. When confronted about this their response was the notes say otherwise. Never do business with guys ! Do not trust them! read more

Performance Marine is as good as it gets. I have been a customer of theirs for years, but yesterday they helped me beyond belief. I'm not going to go into the details of what happened, but yesterday all the guys at Performance Marine saved my summer vacation with my son, and got us back on the water in lightning time. Used to go here when I owned a boat. Staff is super friendly with the exception for one gal who has her head up her you know what. For this reason they get 4 stars instead of 5. The owner is fabulous and will do whatever it takes to make you happy. Had my boat in for service here and the turn around was a lot faster then I expected given it was summer time/boating season. Good selection of parts on the shelf and if they don't have it in stock they can get it for you in a reasonable amount of time and at a competitive cost. They are always willing to do what it takes to earn and keep your business. I wish some others would run there company like Performance Marine does. Great job guys, keep it up. read more

When we called them out they said they did not have the ability to run the engine in the shop because we did not provide a fuel tank. What kind of repair shop doesn't have that capability??? These are the hardest working most knowledgeable Boat Service folks I have ever encountered in over 40 years of boating. Their latest magic was a I/O repower on my 24 foot Campion. They had to remove my 351 motor and replace it with a new fuel injected 350 Mercruiser Bobtail. They went over and above what I asked for and re-glassed the entire engine compartment, beefed up the transom, and installed the new 350. The price was right and we are thrilled with their work and how our boat performs. We drive by all the other boat shops and go directly to Performance Marine, only shop that deserves our business. read more
