Really like the job they did on bottom paint. Reasonable and timely. Extremely easy to deal with. Brian is good.

After mooring for 2 months where she sits on the beach at low tide, I'm pretty impressed. No barnacles, just a gray scum line on the sides. and the best news, my top speed is the same or better than it was as bare glass. the only place I'll have to touch up the paint is a very small spot where the back edge of a bunk hit when I brought it onto the trailer. But that's my fault for not fixing the hole in the carpet. I would recommend Your Boat Shop for paint. Nice people.

I hate writing negative reviews, but our experience with Your Boat Shop was so serious and costly…read morethat I feel obligated to share it. We brought them a well maintained boat with no known transmission or drivetrain issues. They replaced our engine mounts but did not perform the alignment in the water afterward. Less than 20 operating hours later, our port transmission failed while we were underway in the middle of Puget Sound with our 3-year-old and newborn baby onboard. What followed was more than $25,000 in damage, repairs, towing, haul-out, inspections, and expert review. Multiple surveyors and marine professionals have since confirmed our findings: the failure was tied to misalignment after the engine mount work. This did not just cost us money. It took away over a year of boating with our family. We tried repeatedly to work with Your Boat Shop and hoped Dirk would take accountability, or at minimum engage in understanding what happened. Instead, Dirk declined to participate in the investigation and ignored our calls. The burden of investigating and repairing the damage fell entirely on us. This was also not an isolated concern. We had referred friends to Your Boat Shop, and their boat was also damaged after work performed there. They ultimately had to have the work corrected by CSR Marine, over $10,000 in damages. Mistakes can happen. What matters is how a business responds when they do. In our case, the response was deeply disappointing. I strongly urge other boat owners not to be fooled by the great reviews or attractive pricing. Based on our experience, I would not recommend Your Boat Shop for engine mount, alignment, shaft, transmission, or other drivetrain-related work. The risk and cost are far too high.

My parents were customers long before I was, and that kind of multi-generation loyalty doesn't happen by accident -- it happens because they consistently show up, care, and do right by people. Every single visit reminds us why we keep coming back. They're knowledgeable, fair, and genuinely proactive about keeping our boat in great shape. Whether it's routine maintenance, a surprise issue, or just a question we're trying to sort out, they take the time to explain things clearly and make sure we're taken care of. We never feel rushed or talked down to -- just supported. Huge thanks to Jeff, Dan, Wendell, and Jenny. Each of them brings something special to the experience: professionalism, warmth, and that rare "we've got you" attitude that makes all the difference. You can tell they take real pride in their work and in the relationships they build with customers. If you're looking for a marine team you can trust for the long haul -- the kind that remembers you, stands behind their work, and treats you like more than a number -- Bayside Marine is it. He almost ran into our neighbors boat with ours trying to dock and once everyone helped guide him in he couldn't walk. we have continually requested for the owner to call us regarding this matter and we have also requested on more than a couple occasions for an detailed item report for what services he has conducted and parts that we have been charged for todate. We still have no contact nor detailed billing report. We have written several checks out to Kevin but without the detailed item billing we have no way knowing if any of our money has actually went to the company onto our bill or not. No management nor owner has contacted us to date nor has contacted any of our witness'. We are very concerned and very upset with the service we have received to date. And due to the owner not acknowleging our request for consultation, we feel that this company is covering for it's employer. UPDATE: March 2013: we hired another marine mechanic this last weekend. He removed the wires, plugs, carborator, distributor cap, and roter cap ect... to find out that NOTHING had been replaced. Indicating that he outright stole from us and ran our boat to unoperatable condition. The money we paid him to summerize our boat and the money we spent on a rebuilt carborator that we still haven't received. Please see Better Business Burea Case #22358015
