I've been going here for 6 years and have nothing but good things to say about this place. I had Dr. Fletcher initially who started my Invisalign treatment, and transitioned to dr.Nguyen when Dr. Fletcher left. It's been a great transition, Dr.Nguyen is very kind & easy to talk to. Daisy & Sara, the receptionists, are great at communicating. They send text reminders about appointments and are super accommodating if you need to make any changes last minute. For my hygienist, I mainly work with Tiffany, and sometimes Angie. Both of them have good attention to detail, are patient & are personable. The office is very transparent about billing & insurance coverage. I've never had issues of being overcharged for anything, and their prices are very reasonable. In that time, I've had an exceptional experience with the Front Office team, like Daisy, who has always been proactive about scheduling, follow-up, and billing questions. I've never had to wait more than 2-3 minutes to start my appointment. The hygienist team has always been a good experience. They are friendly, communicative, collegial, thorough, but also gentle as they work. All cleanliness and COVID preventatives\procedures\processes have been excellent. I've never felt uncomfortable about their precautions. I've never had any billing issues for my dental services, and I have not had a negative experience in my treatments at Seattle Smile Works. Big fan. The cement on one side of my lingual bar chipped off overnight and I needed to get it reglued urgently to prevent my teeth from shifting back to their pre-orthodontia state. I was unable to get in at my regular dentist or any of the dentists my friends recommended, but Seattle SmileWorks was close, able to accommodate, and SUPER friendly. I felt so welcomed and the hygienist and dentist did a fantastic and efficient job with the repair. They didn't gob on epoxy like a former dental office did, but instead used an appropriate amount so it will hopefully be easier to reduce staining and keep these teeth cleaner. read more

Since day one, Daisy knew me and made sure I had nothing to worry about with scheduling or insurance. Angie and Trishia always take the time to get to know me and help address any dental care needs and even answer all my random questions. Dr. Nguyen has been a great new member to the team. Recently, she scheduled a last minute appointment to deal with some dental pain and referred me to a specialist to address some deep rooted needs. I'm so thankful for this team and rest well knowing they care of me like family. As a plus they send text remainder for appointments and respond next business day to any after hours texts. Dr. Fletcher is amazing. Really entire staff I witnessed had positive dispositions (even for a 7am appointment). I have had bad experiences in past and not visited a dentist in 5+ years. The staff was extremely professional and explained every step. They even started conversation to keep me calm understanding my concerns. I am embarrassed about my teeth but the team here was sympathetic and understanding. While explaining the long term plan options where explained and I left feeling very informed. I was reassured this bad part of my life was behind me and I am for the first time in 20 years excited I have a dentist appointment upcoming in 2 weeks for next steps! Lastly I returned home to an email explaining my expected costs for the long term plan. I could not ask for a better I should have not waited so long is my only regret. Thank you Smileworks! I'd written 5-star reviews for this practice in the past, been going there for over a decade, so it's really painful for me to write this review. I loved & feel indebted to the wonderful Dr. Bell who founded this practice; I still stand by my review that the dental hygienists and assistants here are wonderful. It's just that after what I've experienced, I can no longer endorse the doctors who took over the practice. I should preface this by saying I might be what's considered a special needs patient. (i.e. It could be that this office would serve you well if you have a "normal" mouth.) Due to undiagnosed celiac disease in my childhood, I had enamel hypoplasia = the top enamel layer of my teeth did not form completely when my adult teeth came out. So my teeth practically melt & decay, under the best of circumstances. I have a mouth that has been heavily worked on with veneers, crowns, numerous root canals. This is a chip on my shoulder; it hurts me to admit my body has some abnormalities or deformities. I've told this (past health problems) to Dr. Nguyen several times. Yet, every time she reacted like it was the first time she heard about it. (This is also all explained in my chart.) When I said "I've had a lot of root canals," she was like, "Why is that, Aya?" as if I should reflect upon myself and feel guilty. Her view didn't seem very holistic, seeing she never wanted to talk about related health issues. Another time, she was working on a filling on a tricky spot on the back of a tooth. I happen to have ample saliva production, which I have been told by other doctors is a good thing for oral health. She would complain how I had more saliva than normal and that made things difficult for her -- repeatedly. I had my mouth wide open for over 40 minutes at one point, so my jaw was getting quite tired, so I asked to close my mouth, and she audibly sighed. I felt like she had very little empathy. All of that didn't stop me from going back there faithfully. Pre-pandemic, I was going every 3-4 months for cleaning, since I had a tough to clean mouth with lots of veneers and crowns. Much of it out of pocket. At this time I don't own a car, and with everything that's going on it made it hard to go further, so I sought out a dentist nearby (Seattle Special Care Dentistry) for the most recent exam. I happened to have a copy of all my previous x-rays from 2019. Together with the new examination & old x-rays, it turned out not only did I have root infections under 2 molars (both of them previously had root canals), THE INFECTIONS EXISTED AND WERE VISIBLE IN THE 2019 X-RAYS. Yes, the x-rays from 2 years ago. The doctor was like, "No one mentioned this to you before?" I'd been to Seattle SmileWorks in 2020, but the answer was no. On top of that, one of the root canals done previously had left a tip of the instrument in one of the roots, which was found through the x-ray (apparently this happens sometimes, but still). For both teeth, the previous root canals had failed (which also happens sometimes, FWIW). So I had these slow growing infections since *at least* 2 years ago. This past week, I had to have one of the molars extracted because it was hopeless. Next week, they are going to re-do the root canal on the other molar, hoping they can sterilize the tip of the instrument that had broken off & was embedded in there. I hope they can save that tooth. (Regardless, I am spending $3-4K.) More than anyone, my husband was horrified and was very offended I wasn't well taken care of by the dental practice that I had so much faith in since 2009. I am very sad about it. But I can no longer recommend the practice, if you have vulnerable teeth. read more

Dental hygienists and dentist also really did a good job; they thoroughly examined my teeth and also explained to me in details how I can improve my oral health -- something I didn't receive from previous dentist whom I had visited. I will say, this is one of the most friendliest dental places I have visited. The staff here is very welcoming and helpful if you have any questions or concerns regarding your teeth. As for some of the services I received, the staff really does make an effort to make your visit comfortable and informative. I got a cleaning here and wow! Everything done was very thorough, from the x-rays to the cleaning. If you're afraid of sharp things (needles, tools, etc) like me, feel free to let one of the staff know and they will do their best to make you feel comfortable. Scheduling appointments here is a pretty smooth process. Not only will you get an email reminder of your next upcoming appointment, you do get the option of getting a text reminder as well. My only recommendation is: schedule your appointment early! This place gets booked up pretty fast and it's easy to see why due to their welcoming staff and great service. read more

We used to live in Maple Leaf 5 years ago and Seattle Smileworks was located just down the street and I had chosen it solely out of convenience. Today, we live in Mill Creek - which is 30+ minutes away. On bad days, that commute could take almost an hour. But I would rather do that than to leave this practice. The people here are genuinely amazing. Dr. Deborah Fletcher is friendly and straight to the point. She's quick and efficient. Angie, is my favorite hygienist. I only see her three times a year and somehow she still manages to remember my travel plans. Daisy and Sara are always warm and welcoming towards everyone that walks in. My wife and I have been going to this practice for a few years now. My wife had to have a gun graft done and the results were a perfect outcome. I personally know 2 people who have had that procedure done with failed results so it's really important to find the best and we did. These folks are the absolute best. I was gutted to hear that my favorite hygienist, Angie, was moving on to bigger and better things. Very gentle and communicative. They always listen in regards to how much novocaine I want (as little as I can tolerate) and don't pressure me about getting my wisdom teeth extracted like dentists have in the past (I'm 45 and have all 4, and all are healthy teeth). I'm used to a slow, tedious and sometimes painful process, and have experienced none of those negatives with Seattle Smileworks.
