Used to go here for 15+ years. The last 5-6 years have been awful and have since left and actually enjoy going to the dentist again. They will schedule you for more maintenance than you requested without knowing. They will also say you need deep cleanings and diagnose you incorrectly to get more money. I have since gone to new dentists and they are confused why I was getting deep cleanings and diagnosed the way I was. Some of the hygienists are great I will say and some are very judgmental, rude, and aggressive. Overall don't recommend anymore. read more

I never thought that I would leave a review for a dentist, but here I am! Dr. Lu is the best dentist I've ever had - she's so calm, patient, and thorough. She really cares about her patients and takes the time to explain what she's doing each step of the way to really take the anxiety out of appointments. She also makes it a point to understand the patient's dental history and adjust things accordingly. I had an emergency dental appointment due to one my tooth chipping off (SAD). Luckily, I lived very close by to this dental office and was able to schedule an appointment a few days after the incident happened. It's located within the same building as many other dental offices on 5th Ave NE in Northgate. There's a parking lot with ample parking but the stalls were relatively narrow. Be careful! I'm absolutely terrified of going to the dentist so coming in with an emergency was one of my biggest nightmares. My anxiety shot through the roof as I sat in the chair, BUT both the dentist and dental assistants were super nice and would check up on me every so often to see how everything was during the procedure. The staff here was very nice and did an amazing job on helping me with my emergency! I definitely will be back for regular check ups since I now feel more comfortable after such a random emergency! read more

Highly recommend this office very clean and the customer service at the front desk is absolutely wonderful. My hygienist name was Leeann and she was great. Highly recommend her. Went in after getting a root canal done at a clinic they recommended. This cost me $800 so after that was done I had to come in for a deep cleaning. When I get there they tell me it's $400 up front. I asked if I could pay them on my next pay day. They said no like a bunch of loan sharks. Asked to reschedule they said ok but pay a $150 late fee for not completing the appointment. I had no idea how much it would cost and that it would be due when I walked in otherwise I would of scheduled later. This place feels like it's run by the mobb and they used to work with people. I would recommend this place if you want to haggle with the front desk while everyone in the waiting room listens to your personal financial obligation. This sounds like a HIPPA violation to me. read more

This office came up in search on my insurance carrier's website and so I made an appointment. While the doctor was finishing up her examination, one of the front desk ladies came in and informed the doctor that when she called into the insurance company, she found out that this office is not in their network. The doctor completed the consultation and they waived the charges. The tooth requires a root canal, which the doctor does not do anyway, but she did give us a referral to an endodontist. The staff could not be nicer. Kudos the entire office and shame on Cigna Dental. Cigna really needs to update the provider information on their website. After my visit to Northgate Smiles, I called numerous dental offices on their list, only to find out that dentists listed no longer work there. Again, I have only positive feedback about Northgate Smiles. read more

This is the best dentist I've ever been to! I also think they're extremely honest and I've had some dishonest, incompetent dentists in the past. They put you at ease with their friendly, caring manner. They've been able to save crowns when the tooth underneath needed a root canal needed to be done, they've done incredible work. They do their root canals there instead of constantly sending you out unlike other dentists. They also do implants and dentures if needed. They have specialists in their own office so you're not sent all over the Seattle area. Their hygienists, their assistants, and all of their office personnel are extremely professional and friendly. Last November I woke up to a panic inducing golf ball in my cheek due to an infected tooth, They were able to see me, a new patient, with no insurance, that same day. Their front desk was so gracious in helping me get set up with affordable insurance. I havent seen a dentist in ten years, but they made the process so smooth that I wonder why I put it all off. The office itself is very nice, and everyone has been so gentle and kind. It's worth the drive for me. This place is great! It was very easy to set up an appointment via email and my first appointment was flawless from beginning to end. The front desk staff greeted me kindly and already had my insurance on file through email. I was treated first by Monique, who was very warm, kind, welcoming, and professional. My cleaning was conducted by LeaAnn, who did an excellent job and actually removed stains from my teeth! LeaAnn also gave me some valuable brushing tips that I have already implemented. I have never had such a good time getting cavities filled. Dr. Lu and Monique (the RDA) make a great team, and seeing them have fun together makes the entire experience enjoyable. Dr. Lu noticed every time I got nervous and made sure to check in. They even let me listen to my own music, which helped distract during the parts I was anxious around. I didn't feel any pain, and felt like I had control the entire way through. A special touch was that we all sang to the radio together, while they were both working in my mouth. Dr. Aylen and Dr. Aluas worked on an extensive root canal I had about two weeks ago. These professionals have thought of everything. After a 2.5 hour procedure, I was parched and cranky, but they handed me chapstick, water, and even a snack to take my IB Profen with. I watched cable with a blanket over my legs as they worked, and actually recieved a follow up call from Dr. Aylen herself a day or two after the procedure. Filing a negative review a few years after my root canal and crown on my front tooth. The crown and treatment was done so poorly that they allowed an infection to incur and the tooth and root to be extracted. The surgeon was struck by how poorly that treatment was done. I went here because of the high ratings but was really dissapointed with the suspicious treatment. My cleaning and fillings felt rushed, 2 months later my tooth was still hurting. I went back and was told it was my fault? No other treatment but was given a fat bill. I asked the ladies at the front how much every thing would cost as I have multiple insurances, they said it was all covered, but i still was sent a bill of almost a grand of dental care! If I could leave zero stars I would. My daughter was originally scheduled for a consult with the periodontist. We really liked him and had a great appointment once he was in the room. The office staff is who we had major issues with. They were very friendly, but extremely ditsy and forgetful. They "forgot" to have us fill out new patient paperwork, so I had to do it at home. They "forgot" to get our insurance information before our visit, so I had to send it in after the fact. We waited for 4 weeks to hear back from a pre-authorization for my daughter's procedure. During that time I checked in twice to be told that it was sent but they haven't heard anything back yet. I called today, for the third time to check in only to be told that they "forgot" to put our insurance information in our daughter's chart so the pre-auth was NEVER SENT, EVER! Even though I was told twice that it was! In my opinion if you are going to be seen there, stay on top of them. Do not take their word that they have completed something. I had my five teeth filled here and now 7 months passed, my upper left teeth are sensitive to room temperature water and wind. (Before I got fillings, I never had this issue) I went back to ask them to fix it several times, they gave me toothpaste for sensitive gum and said it will settle after some time, but it has been 7 months, it is even more and more sensitive, I only can use straw to drink room temperature water. When I put my review on Google and describe my experience, they didn't have any sympathy on my situation and sent an email saying you are not welcome back to their dental office. Now I am traumatized by dental work. Here is my review on google: I filled several cavities there, at first after some fillings were done, I have full mouth canker sore, I cannot eat and sleep for a week. After second time filling were done, the place they worked on is sensitive to cold (water, air). They tried to figure out why and asked me to use toothpaste for sensitive teeth, but it doesn't work. This cold sensitivity has been going for over three months. I changed three dentists in this place, but I don't see my problem is getting solved. It really affects my life quality, cannot drink water from drinking fountain, cannot eat ice cream, in cold weather, I cannot even open my mouth outside. The good thing about this place is they are professional, and always give you estimation first. The person does deep cleaning is very nice and good. read more

I had a crown done at this place in 2017 only for it to come out New year's day 2018. When I went back to have the crown put back on it came out again not even a month after that. The dentist here then said that she was happy with her work when I decided to go somewhere else and ask for a refund. I would not recommend this place to anyone not only was the work not done well on my teeth but also I felt super uncomfortable whenever I did go in with the cleanliness and the care that I was provided. I'm sure that everyone has a different experiences but seeing all the four and five stars here really made me feel that I should post a more realistic experience. they had no choice but to accommodate a refund which was great but I certainly would not recommend this place to anyone. read more
