This review is long overdue, but I had such a smooth moving experience with Seattle Moves & More. Unfortunately we had to move during the heat wave in mid August, but the crew of 3 members worked very quickly and efficiently. This was the first time I've ever worked with movers so I kept my ask to a minimum. We packed all our items and only had the crew take any large pieces of furniture from a 6th floor apartment unit with elevator to a 3rd floor condo with no elevator. They charge per hour, based on the how long the move actually takes, not the predicted time. This includes travel time but they started/ended all within Ballard which helped save on time. I communicated everything with Lauren Farrar and she responded quickly with detailed info. She suggested I provide photos to help the crew understand the spaces they'd be working with. We're so grateful for how smooth everything went and how respectful the entire team was given the crazy weather. Would highly recommend Seattle Moves & More for your moving needs! read more

I bought a solid marble dining table from a local consignment store in Ballard thinking their recommended moving company would be able to handle the move. They immediately declined the job! I started to get really nervous and called all the moving companies I could find. Right off the bat Erik assured me Seattle Moves & More would make sure the job was done. After he and Lars visited my new table at the store, the 2,000 pound weight put a damper on the delivery that day. They came to my home to scout out the delivery location to ensure that the job could be safely completed without damage. I grossly underestimated the size of the job for our move and they handled it like champs with smiles on their faces. Lars and Troy helped us out a great deal with our move. They were very flexible and were able to accommodate an evening move for us, as well as able to transfer some stuff from a U-Haul into the moving truck. They arrived on time, and communicated well during the move. They took very good care of all our furniture and belongings during the move. The only part where we felt things could have gone better was with the time the move actually took. It took 8.5 hours total and we thought the moving process could have been a bit more efficient time wise, as we did not have a lot of stuff. Definitely recommend their service! read more

What a disappointing experience. Very unprofessional interactions and the staff treated my time like it was worthless. I wouldn't use these guys for any moving project. I reached out to these folks about a long distance move from WA to NY. I was contacted and told that the owner would like to set up an in-person estimate, which I agreed to. That evening, the owner called me and asked if he could stop by when he finished with another job. He said he was going to grab a coffee and should be at my house "in about 15 minutes" I agreed and said I would be here all evening. 45 minutes later, he didn't show. I called him back to hear him still at the coffee shop. He said he assumed that just because I said I'd be home all evening, that meant he could take his time. I said that was not what I had implied and reminded him that he said it would be 15 minutes. He then sent one of his employees in his place who apologized on his behalf and said the owner got "caught up answering work emails", so he was late. So which was it? We had a miscommunication or you got caught up? A little lie, but it rubbed me the wrong way. The individual who did the estimate was polite enough on arrival. He took photos and notes then promised he'd have a quote that evening or tomorrow. The next day came and went, but I got no quote. He did follow up around 5:30 PM to confirm the drop off address and said he was "finishing up" the quote. The next day, still nothing, so I contacted them and asked how the quote was coming along. More apologies and another promise it would be done this evening. The contact then asked me if it would be okay to call me this evening to discuss. I asked how late and he never responded. At 8pm, he finally called me to tell me that they didn't have driver availability for the move and they would be happy to load a POD for me to ship across country. A moving company doesn't have a driver available? Ok. Never offered any backup or alternative dates. Just said no one was available to do it, which makes me really doubt they regularly do moves of this distance. At that point I was just incredibly annoyed at how little respect they had for my time and how they over bolstered their abilities. I told them I wouldn't be interested in any of their services. Not sure what's going on here. My best guess is that it's a little company that took on more than they can reasonable handle. You can understand something like that, but the little lies and misdirection to try to catch up reeks of a poorly managed business to me. I see this pattern all of the time with business that cannot scale. Really disappointing and makes me wonder how well they could actually handle a job as complicated as WA to NY. read more

I am extremely happy with my move experience. We own a hefty amount of things for a two bedroom apartment and living in a high rise with a 3 hour move window can get pretty dicey. In fact, our last moving company shorted us a guy or two and we spent over 6 hours moving into the apartment which caused us some friction with the complex. However Lars has been doing this for years. He came to our place for an estimate and knew exactly what it would take to accomplish the move given the tight move-out window. He was honest, transparent, and straightforward from start to finish. He also goes the extra mile at every turn. Not only was he a pleasure to work with, but he showed up himself to ensure that we would make the time-limit. We nailed that 3 hour window. Additionally there was some extremely minor damage to our coffee table; he hauled it off and had it fixed within the week at no added cost or inconvenience. Lars is a pleasure to work with, extremely professional, and excellent at what he does. Best moving company I've worked with yet. Additionally they recycle boxes and care about the environment. I was extremely nervous to use a moving company, so much so that my husband and I were ready to move with a U Haul even though I knew that would be much more difficult and time consuming. It was difficult to find a moving company I'd trust, that could move me out of state, that was easy to communicate with, and that wouldn't be too expensive. Thankfully, I reached out to Lars at Seattle Moves & More. He replied back to ask to see our apartment and discuss everything. Even though at that time we were 99% set on moving ourselves, I decided why not meet with him. Well, my dog is a good judge of character and my dog LOVED HIM. So much so that my anxiety over trusting someone with nearly all my belongings subsided enough that we decided to have Lars help us with the move. During the entire process he was extremely nice and easy to contact. I wasn't able to purchase a TV box which he ended up picking up for us on the day of the move without me even requesting it. It was a smaller amount of items than usual so he only brought one other staff member, but they were quick and careful during the entire process. Where do I begin? Okay, my move was originally scheduled for 2 pm but the day of, Lars, the owner, called me first thing in the AM to say their 1st appt got pushed back so mine would be too: 4 pm. No worries, I appreciated the heads up. Fast forward to 7:30 pm. Yea, I know and my storage unit closes at 9, but know what? Communication was on point and they showed up with sincere apologies and genuine smiles... totally high energy despite a nightmarish gig beforehand. And it took them 30 minutes to lock and load. These guys are the best! Eric was my first contact and was incredibly patient and detailed with putting together all the details of my move and confirming our reservation. The day before the move he called and reconfirmed. The day of we had the guys do some packing and all the moving and they were amazing. Mid move they realized they needed some extra tools to take apart our bedroom set but they didn't let this add anytime to the move. The owner Lars actually ran to Home Depot and bought exactly what they needed and brought it by the house while Evan and the guys kept on moving! I had several breakable art pieces, large mirrors, a glass coffee table and other fragile things I was worried about but they took exceptional care and patience and all of our things came through on the other side in perfect condition. I moved last weekend from Fremont to Eastlake and had Seattle Moves & More assist me in my first solo move. I had spoken to the owner on the phone the week before to talk about my move, get a quote, and discuss timing. He was extremely nice, very helpful in answering questions, and was so friendly. He was available to me via text and call as needed and confirmed my appointment for my move the day before. I had booked for a noon time slot and when they got a cancellation for the 9am time slot they offered it to me - that was great! He texted me when they movers were on the way and let me know that they had to stop for gas, so would be a few minutes later. Totally fine as I got an update! They two guys arrived with the truck and got started right away. They were friendly, respectful and super nice! They worked quickly and got everything loaded into the truck (including dis-assembling my bed frame & headboard) in an hour. We were at my new apartment a few minutes later and they started right away. They even put down a runner in my new apartment as it was raining when they started unpacking. They put my bed frame & headboard back together for me and made sure that items were in the room I asked them to be in. The nice part is that they don't round up to the nearest hour, but rather, do by the quarter hour (so my move was 2.75 hours), which is super kind with pricing. They also don't have a minimum, so it's great if you feel like your move won't take that long. Overall - I would definitely recommend them to move me or my friends again! Hopefully I won't have to move for a while, for my own sake, but would happily call Lars (the owner) again should I need help. read more

I must say all the guys at Seattle Movers and More all have great personalities and they are all enjoyable to talk to. They are young and full of energy. I would definitely give them a five based on their personalities. However, the move for my parents didn't go so smoothly. They were supposed to be at my parents place ready to move at 9:00am. When I called shortly after 9:00am the owner, Lars said they had a really late job last night and will be there as soon as possible. He thanked me for my understanding. We waited and waited, 10:00am rolls around and still no showing. Another call was placed and they said they had to stop off to buy wardrobe boxes. They finally arrived at 10:45am, almost 2 hours later than agreed upon. When they arrived, only two guys showed up. The reason we went with Seattle Movers and More is because they indicated three guys would show up. I texted Lars and told him the agreement was for three guys and he said we have his best two guys. I told him this is not what was agreed upon, if we had known this we would've chose someone else. He said he will be coming. Lars arrives around 12:30. My elderly parents have moved quite a few times from one senior community to another. The last two times when they moved they had the same amount of furniture as this time. All the moves have been around five miles, including this one. We used the same movers the last two times, they were two middle-age guys that looked like they may be getting a little old for what they were doing. But these middle-age guys were very experienced and they worked very efficiently. They moved everything within five hours and reconnected the TV hookup, reassembled the dresser and the china cabinet. Seattle Movers and More took seven hours to complete the job, costing us $300 more than if we had used the two middle-age guys. We would've paid even more if we hadn't negotiated that we would not pay for their return trip, which none of the previous movers have ever charged. Lars did take away a bookcase that my parents didn't want which they can donate and write it off as a business expense. Sorry Lars, but waiting for you guys for almost 2 hours, initially showing up with 2 guys when it was agreed upon with 3 and the length of time it took for the move is what gave you the 3 stars. read more

He knew how excited we were to have the dining set delivered in a timely manner and accommodated our move at the end of a busy day for him. My move was just several big items from Kenmore to Kirkland. I submitted a request online and Lars called me promptly and was able to fit me in short notice. Justin and Troy were very efficient with loading and offloading my items. The load was protected and secured in the truck. Good company and very professional. I would suggest the movers wear booties, which would eliminate the need for them to remove their shoes to go on carpeted flooring. I've moved a lot. Maybe nearly 20 times in my adult life. This was my first time moving alone and I knew who I hired was going to go a long way towards my peace of mind. I contacted 7 moving companies and followed whatever they asked for: leave a message/send email/fill out a form/etc. only 3 actually got back to me with a quote. I was trying to book an apt move from Magnolia to Green Lake on a weekday and which weekday that week was negotiable- not a tall order. I was booking 3+ weeks in advance. When I got Lars on the phone, he said he was on a job and would I please text him and he would call me that night. He didn't get back to me that night, but that was okay- I was still receiving communications from the couple other companies. A few nights later, on a Saturday night, he called me and talked through the move. His prices were the same as all the others and he was sincere. I was nervous about lack of confirmation email, but he assured me it was all set. As the move arrived, I was starting to get nervous and texted him. When I expressed I was going to stress out he called me right away. Lars and the team showed up w/in 10 mins of quoted time. He was totally frank that I had more stuff than he expected (larger 1bdrm and I have a kid and hobbies...) and he decided to call another mover to help (who arrived in about 10 mins) and I called a friend who, I kid you not, loves moving people and had offered repeatedly to help, so he arrived, too, and it all worked out! The team was great- all nice guys who hauled butt and helped set up stuff on arrival at the new place. Lars was frank about costs so I had time to react as it was more than I had planned- no one's fault, just the way thing shook out. A month later, Lars called to just see how well I'm settling in!
