Full disclaimer - we did not purchase a bike from this store. But we had a wonderful experience and they were high on our list. Looking for a electric bike for my son while he attends UW. He wanted something he could use to commute for school, groceries and visiting his girlfriend at Seattle U. We initially went to the Seattle location but they didn't have anything for us to try out. Very small shop. They said to go to the Bothell store and they would let them know we were coming. So we arrived at the Bothell store and they did not have any messages from the Seattle store but Kyle asked us what we were looking for and set us up for a test ride. Not being from Seattle we were a bit nervous on where to go but Kyle said no worries he would go along with us. So we got to try out three e bikes switching off as we rode. He took as to a park for what seemed like a 20-30 minute ride. It was awesome. The bikes are so much fun and the trail was like we were on vacation. Guess there is a high demand for these bikes so we weren't able to ride the bike we wanted as it was not assembled yet. But I will say that if you are looking for a quality bike this place has them and at reasonable prices and appears to have good service. They had several bikes that were last year's models on sale. Bosh mid drive motors with lots of power, hydraulic disk brakes and brake lights that actuated with the brake handle. The only reason we didn't purchase here was we decided to try and find a cheaper bike since we don't know where he would be parking the bike. An expensive bike might not be as convenient for a campus setting in downtown Seattle. We found a used bike on Craigslist and was able to get insurance on the bike from State Farm. $9/month for $1800 coverage zero deductible. FYI, learned that for insurance it needs to be no more than 20 miles per hour assist. We were looking at bikes that did either 20 or 28 max speed assist. Did not check other insurance companies. So Kyle followed up with us on the Yamaha we wanted to try. Turned out it got sold before we could try it. I explained that we changed our mind and was looking for a cheaper bike and he was totally cool about it. Low pressure great sales service. A combination of a great customer-service oriented staff and a large, diverse e-bike inventory. I found these guys when I was having problems with my e-bike. They were knowledgeable, professional, and did a great job of figuring out a nasty little technical problem. Combine that with a great attitude and a large inventory and you have a great bike shop. read more

Great friendly service! We rented e-bikes today and rode the Burke-Gillman trail to Univ of Washington. Beautiful fall colors and a threat way to see the area. Bikes were pedal assist and batteries held out for the 30 miles we ride. read more

I took my daughter's Rad Power Bike in for brake service and was very happy! It was going to take as much as 2-3 months for Rad to be able to do the service, but I got into Seattle Electric Bike in a few days. They were fast, friendly, did a good job and the price was a good deal lower than I'd expected. I'll be back, for sure. read more

I don't have much to say about this business. Why? They require an appointment to test ride, but no matter how many times I fill out the webform on their site - and get a confirmation that the message was received - nobody gets back to me. You shouldn't have to beg a business to take your money, especially when you're talking about potentially several thousand dollars - and it doesn't say good things about the kind of follow-up service one can expect. Maybe you'll have better luck, but I'll take my business elsewhere. read more

I was trying to find myself an electric bike at a few different bike shops. I had a hard time finding one because my legs were shorter than most people. Reilly was the only salesperson that cared enough to figure out a way to lower the seat than others so I could actually be comfortable enough to ride one. We rode around for a test ride in the neighborhood. He's friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating. He was very patient with me as I was deciding on my 1st electric bike and answered all my questions about the bike. read more

Went to service an electric bike I bought online and they were very accommodating and the price was very reasonable.

I didn't buy an e-bike here, but their customer service deserved a rating! I haven't had my own bike since I was maybe 10 years old, so when I bought one off OfferUp to try and get back into the hobby, I brought it in just to ask to use their tire pump. Instead, the man offered to do a full inspection of the bike and make sure it was fit to ride, in addition to filling the tires for me. He helped me make some adjustments and gave me a little tutorial on the chain and shifting, etc. that I had zero knowledge of. Really appreciate him taking the time to help me and going above and beyond! If I can stick with this hobby, I'll likely come back here and purchase from this shop. read more

Test ride was great with Ryan. He took us on a path and thru streets, gave us a good feel for the bikes, and let us try a few brands. In the end we did not find our perfect fit but no fault of Ryan's. I did find the first gent I spoke to on the phone to make the appt was a bit pushy. read more

I bought a Haibike sduro 9.5 Bosche on 3.20.2019. I test rode several bikes and liked this one the best. I told them that I was new to riding and wanted a commuting bike planning on riding 20 plus miles 4 days a week. A big selling point was also the 2 year warranty which I was told would not cover the chain or drive sprocket. They also would do a free first time tune up which I did with nothing being done except replacing some fasteners that had come loose and I ask to have locktighted down. At this point I was satisfied maybe a couple of months in. Next time I brought the Bike in for check pads I was told the chain had stretched and the sprocket also needed to be changed. I had no idea of chain stretching and the damage it could incur. Cost me almost 400 bucks. Then I had electrical problems which I repaired myself. I am a trained electronics technician. I then had the front fender break and was told that it wasn't covered under warranty. Ok, I fixed it myself as they wanted 80 bucks for a fender set, wouldn't or couldn't sell me just the front fender. Now the rear rim is cracking in multiple places and they say that isn't covered under the 2 year warranty. They have been very misleading and unhelpful. I've dropped more than 5k in their shop and this is how I've been treated. Stay away from this place especially if you are trying to do the right thing and help the environment by riding a bike assisted by the electric motor technology. Dishonest and misleading. read more
