This is a solid restaurant- there's so many good choices in Cape May and Sea Salt holds its own. A bit away from all the other restaurants/ Washington mall area, but awesome vibe either on the deck or inside. Have dined here tons of times and I'm never disappointed. Decent wine choices, and something on the menu for everyone. read more

Love this place! First we had the pleasure of meeting our bartender, Gabe. Super friendly, very attentive & professional! Drinks came fast & were delicious! Had a few drinks with Gabe and then were seated for dinner. Big menu, lots of interesting choices. David was our waiter. He was on point with all of our questions. The meal was awesome! Background house music is perfect at the perfect volume. Overall a great experience in a comfortable, friendly atmosphere! And I hear that have Entertainment here too! I'll be back. read more

It went downhill immediately. We were five people and wanted to sit outside since it was a beautiful night -- and were told NO by the manager as only four can sit at a table. Why? We could not squeeze 5 in. SERVICE - So we sat inside. The waitress was not friendly. Like she was doing us a favor. Never welcomed us to the place, did not advise of specials. Her personality was like a cold dead fish. She's from another country and needs hospitality training. FOOD - Disappointing. The calamari was very salty. We told the waitress, who just shrugged her shoulders. The seafood marinara sauce was bland and seemed like store-bought sauce. And the salmon was less than stellar. At the end of the dinner, the waitress NEVER asked how our dinner was or if we wanted dessert. Avoid this place -- there are so many better options with better service!! read more

Great spot with friendly and attentive service and most importantly delicious food! I tried the blackened tile fish and have to say it was unlike anything I've had before. Such an awesome combination of flavors. I also had the tuna poke as an appetizer. I love the way they lined the bowl with baked seaweed. My wife had the halibut which had an incredible red pepper aïoli made from scratch. It was great people watching and you can hear the ocean lightly in the background. We were pleasantly surprised with such a great dinner. I'd definitely go back again. read more

SeaSalt - Roof top bar Great service! Great food! Great drinks!!! - Seafood Near Me - Cape May, New Jersey

Elevated spot and view of promenade and water. My girlfriend and I both went hard for seafood, tilefish, oysters, crabmeat app. Pleasantly surprised with food quality and prep given the great view. As a usually great views = bland and boring. That said, the food wasn't spectacular. Male server, very knowledgeable, attentive and friendly. Wish I remember his name or I'd mention him, he deserves. read more

Seasalt is not the normal hotel restaurant. It can compete on its own with fine restaurant. We had oysters on the half shell, which were lovely. We had white corn and crab soup, which had a lovely creamy texture and wonderful unique flavor, which I could not identify. We had grilled octopus salad with grilled zucchini. The warm zucchini was a pleasant surprise in a salad and the octopus was tender. Finally, we had the crab crusted seared halibu. The seared crab gave the beautifully cooked halibut a pleasantly surprising texture. The halibut was on a roasted red pepper coulomb or sauce, which added to its uniqueness. The service was excellent. If I had any criticism, the black paint on the ceiling made the restaurant dark. I think a little Mozart divertimento could add some class to the music background. In general, this hotel restaurant far exceeded my expectations. read more

The servers in the dining room were really good--and they were the only good thing. Although I asked for a table for 1 in the dining room, I was seated far in the back crowded between two large groups. Meanwhile, the whole time I was there--6 to 7:30pm virtually all the tables in the center of the dining room were empty. The worst was the food. I ordered crab-crusted halibut filet, an expensive entrée. What arrived was a barely warmed chunk of fish with what looked like mayonnaise and a few tired herbs on top. The fish was raw. So were the surrounding "selected vegetables"--carrots, baby squash, and zucchini. Happily, the martini was good! read more

Food is OK, but the service is really really slow. We understand that a lot of restaurants have not hired back due the pandemic but the hostess was rude. We are currently waiting on our entrées and our reservation was at 6:30 PM! Seriously, I'm not really sure what's going on here. Stick to one of the strongholds here, don't be fooled by the view or the swanky ambience. This place is seriously sub par. read more

We went here for lunch and the only thing I could say that was delicious was the drinks. My husband ordered a Moscow mule (not served in a Moscow mule cup) and I ordered a blueberry lemonade that was so delicious. We ordered clams, oysters, ahi tuna tacos and a grilled chicken Caesar salad. The clams and oysters were delicious. The tuna in the ahi tuna was over cooked. The chicken in the Caesar salad was dry and flavorless. We had to ask them to fill our empty water glasses. And at first, I thought the review about flies was silly but we were in fact greeted by 3. However, you must take into account being down the shore. This place is so-so. read more

Overall, a decidedly underwhelming experience. The restaurant presents itself as upscale, in service, food and prices. None passed the test. We had made reservations a week in advance, and were seated quickly upon arrival. As I approached our table, I noted an empty butter wrapper on the floor under my chair. Mmmm ... they were not that busy, a quick look on and around the table would have easily spotted this. Certainly not a disaster, but an underwhelming start. My wife ordered the Jersey corn crab chowder, which she noted had very little corn but was very good. I ordered shrimp cocktail. Good size shrimp with a bland cocktail sauce, and I'm not sure the shrimp were cleaned correctly. Underwhelming. And, we watched as our order was delivered to the wrong table, walked back into the kitchen and then finally back out to our table. Not a significant delay, but a snafu that would repeat itself later. My wife ordered the seafood pasta, and I ordered the Cajun pork chop. Her shrimp were not fresh, having a "fishy" odor and taste. The marinara sauce was watery and tomato-y. Almost as if from a can. Underwhelming. My pork chop was ordered medium rare. The waitress came back to confirm "medium rare or just medium". And I confirmed MR. It was at best medium/well, more to the chewy well done end of the scale. And the Cajun spices were practically non-existent. After our order was put on our table, the server came out with a plate of hush puppies. We didn't order them, but she came back later and told us it was supposed to be plated with my pork chop. Underwhelming. We skipped desert. I had a glass of wine, my wife started with a special martini, and had a glass of wine with her meal. $160 before tip. A lot of money for a very underwhelming dining experience. They need to step up their game. At this price point and in this market, there are a lot of other vastly superior options, at the same relative cost or less. read more

I went to sea salt and ordered and order the sea salt tower for 2 and then I went back to the motel I was staying at and then I got a weird a feeling in my stomach and rushed to the bathroom and the toilet was not prepared for the mountain of feces that came out of my buttox and then when I wiped and then when I tried to wipe I felt something on the back of my hand and thenI noticed the brown markings on my hand and it was poop and the toilet broke the end read more

My wife and I had lunch at the restaurant this afternoon. We sat outside. It was very comfortable. We ordered beverages, we were not rushed at all. My wife ordered a tuna tartare (appetizer) as her lunch, whereas I had the pulled pork sandwich. Our meals were served very timely. My sandwich came with fries and was good-sized. On the other hand, and the reason I'm giving only 3 stars was - the portion size of tuna, considering the price (at $22 it was one of the most expensive items on the menu) was very underwhelming. My wife is not large, and in other restaurants orders this appetizer as her lunch entree. In summary, I think there are better choices in the area. read more

July 4th weekend 2022. Two people. Walk-in, no reservation. Total 140 not including tip. Food: Octopus salad - 5/5 octopus was cooked oerfectly. Very appetizing, fresh, crispy salad, tasty and cooked well. Big enough for two people to share. Deviled Clams - 2/5. This may be personal preference as we tend to like raw bar. Not much experience with "Rockefeller oysters" or deviled clams, and only 3 clams were included. Wouldn't order again. Main dishes- Linguine with steamed clams - buttery white wine and garlic sauce. 4.5/5 cooked well, good amount of clams. Enough to be satisfying. Would order again if didn't want to try other options. Seafood Pescatore - 4/5. Excellent selection of mussels, shrimp, scallops and clams. Pasta was cooked al dente, and the red sauce was very flavorful and gave a little bit of kick from the spiciness. If you are sensitive to spice this may not be the option for you, although I didn't think this was overwhelmingly spicy but instead, just the right amount of spice. Dessert - espresso coffee and chocolate torte. This was a smaller, flourless torte that was ideal for sharing for two people who just want to satisfy sweet tooth. Not too sweet, perfectly chocolatey. Drinks - pinot nior, Hangtime wine and a glass of Prosecco, both complimented the dishes well. The drinks were over priced for regular house options. Service: Very welcoming and friendly. We didn't have a reservation and they sat us right away. Our waitress Adalia was very attentive and nice. She answered all our questions and offered suggestions and checked in on us frequently. We didn't have to wait to have our plates cleared, which was a big positive for us. She was very attentive and cleared immediately or offered us a box. Atmosphere: Dress nicely, the atmosphere is upscale. Music was a little quiet. It was smooth jazz which was welcoming and comfortable but it could have been a little louder. Table was small and a little uncomfortable (this was probably because we didn't have reservations). They had a deck for a seating area which seemed very quaint and comfortable but we sat inside Overall: We would come back again to try different entree options if we didnt want to find new restaurant options. Its a pleasant atmosphere compared to other restaurants in the area. read more

Place was pretty mediocre. Way too loud - service was fair and food was fair at best

had a nice tasting menu and bottle of wine while staying at the hotel. Not very busy but we were here the week before the season really opened in early june. Food was delicious and only one dish we really didn't care for. Staff was friendly , I didn't like our table being in the back sort of when the place was nearly empty but my wife made it a lovely evening. Was nice to be able to come right downstairs and do dinner in same building as hotel. very modern looking room - bar ultra modern and sleek with black counter tops and back-lit liquor displays. This is also where they put out coffee for hotel guests in the morning and some other things I think. Right across the hall is the pool and out door bar. Upstairs there is a deck I believe and there is outdoor dining adjoining the street but at a 6 foot raised level with glass walls. The color scheme white and orange is well done and the furniture choices were done nicely also......... Would definitely go again.... however, I wouldn't make a long trip for it from Long Island...... Clary's pancake house - that might be worth it,. read more

Went for breakfast and the snotty hostess obviously preferred we had not even walked in the door. Asked for a table of 6 with a highchair and she was visibly annoyed that there would be a baby. She makes the table and tells us we can't be seated because our whole party hadn't arrived. MEANWHILE THE PLACE IS PRACTICALLY EMPTY. Maybe if we wore tuxes they would've welcomed us. Stuck up atmosphere and nasty staff. read more

Breakfast review Place is fancy inside, very nautical ( see picture ) Service was higher end, but they were training a new person at the time. No people better to practice on than the breakfast customers! Strawberry pancakes Was okay, average. With real strawberries, but they were sour. Out of season? I did like the little platter of jams and butter and syrup. read more

Great experience at Sea Salt! We went for a girls brunch and everything from the service to the food was great. Everyone loved their meal, but the star was definitely the baked eggs and the bloody Marys. We loved it so much we went back for dinner as well as to their rooftop. The ambiance was perfect at both the restaurant as well as the rooftop. Bartenders were friendly, drinks were delicious and the view of the beach was nice and relaxing. We will definitely be returning! read more

I would not revisit. The chef's 5-course menu (which is why we attended) online was different than at the restaurant. The restaurant was nearly empty and the seating we were given was next to the front wall where the wallpaper was ripped. Clams on the half shell were little-necks with inconsistent taste and the bread appeared to have been frozen and then defrosted (tough and very dry). Olive oil was provided for dipping with no seasoning. "Lump crab" was served as shredded in the avocado salad and the rest of our food was simply typical. read more

Best dinner we've had during our trip to Cape May, hands down. One of the nicer places by the beach. The menu is a nice change from a lot of the places nearby - very creative, light and summery, beautifully presented. We made a reservation just in case, but since it was during the off season we realized it wasn't really necessary once we arrived. We each had a drink, appetizer, and entree and it was the perfect amount of food. For appetizers we had the salmon tartare and the octopus, and for entrees the scallops and the halibut. Everything was so delicious and flavorful, even the bread and olive oil they gave us to start. Service was also very polite and friendly. read more

Popped in for a few beers while in the area as we wanted to check out the scene of this recently renovated location. We sat upstairs which provides waitress service and a great view of the beach. I went with the Dale's Pale Ale which, despite coming in a can, was thankfully served with a glass (which wasn't chilled). We also ordered the guacamole appetizer which, while tiny, was served with a large bag of homemade potato chips which were quite tasty. read more

Ambiance and service were top notch! However, the food was just "meh." Sat on the deck, which was nice as it was a nice night. There is breeze from the ocean (as you'd expect), so suggest bringing a wrap or light jacket if sitting outside. Ordered the clams on the half (as expected), yellowtail (decent), ceviche (tasty), avocado salad (ok), crab soup (ok but more corn than crab), lobster ravioli (bland, basic and don't recommend), seared scallops (tasty) and creme brulee (ok). So, overall, the food was mainly ok although some was bland and nothing was at all creative enough to justify the prices in my opinion. I entertain clients for my job and frequent restaurants all over the country. Although this doesn't make me a critic by any means, I wouldn't take my clients to this establishment. The service was AWESOME though. We were seated right away and our server, David, was attentive, helpful and just terrific. read more

Outstanding restaurant, will surely come back here again. The restaurant environment is very nice, hostess and waitress incredibly friendly. The drinks were great, try the bourbon sour and the mango Mojito. Very nice place, modern decor and friend service. Granted when we went there seems to have been a lot of disarray, one of the waiters mentioned a lot of new people and some just called out but overall the food was fresh and service was friendly. I tried the bagel with eggs and sausage, they had a nice aioli sauce with lettuce , tomoatos and onions that added a spring to it. Kids did the chocolate chip pancakes that they enjoyed very much. My wife tried the frittata that she enjoyed as well. Overall everything was great just removed a star cause we were waiting for so long and had to ask about our order a few times. read more

We ate breakfast and dinner because it was so good and all the employees are friendly & helpful. The dinner menu is quite innovative and all dishes are presented nicely like the coriander crusted tuna with shaved asparagus & citrus sweet chili sauce.
