    BEWARE!!!!! The appliance company is out to SCAM you and take your money! I called to have my dryer…read morefixed bc it was going off early when the sensor setting was being used. Told them I ordered the part in case that was the issue. Was quoted a $175 diagnostic fee, in which never happened! The tech just installed the part and charged me $317. The dryer is still experiencing the same issue and now they won't come out and fix the issue and say the part is not under warranty. And the kicker is when you sign, you don't even see what work the tech actually completed bc it's just a signature block. And Tara the Manager and Tony the tech both refuse to return to fix the issue now or my calls.

After diagnosing, the tech gave me a cost of $537 to repair. I agreed and sent Mr. Appliance $537. Tech came and tried what he believed to be the problem. Nothing worked so he returned with a new front panel. That panel worked to provide crushed ice only, but not cubed. He added that there was nothing more to do (except that I buy a part equal to the cost of a new refrigerator). The repair was only partially completed so I notified the office. Staff there went into intricate and confusing reasons why they could not refund even a small part of my payment-in-full even though they accepted my $537 full payment. The company failed to complete the repair as they initially claimed they would (after accepting my full payment for the full repair). Never again.

Edward Dobbins was scheduled to assess freezer and dishwasher. I followed up with Family First to confirm whether the appointment was made. She was hostile and yelling stating "GE has no right to schedule for Family First." If true how would a consumer client know? After providing account details, she LIED claiming the appliances are not under warranty. GE (who assigned this pitiful organization as a sub contractor to perform the needed work) confirmed the warranties ARE VALID. Same female continued to share "GE refuses to do anything to correct the issues and it is out of Family First's hands so they closed both service tickets, without following up to inform me. I made a follow up telecon w/ GE the service advisor was surprised at the DISRESPECTFUL treatment I received and revealed that what Family First shared was untrue. Two new service tickets were created AGAIN, a GE CERTIFIED technician conducted an in home assessment, created a report, called twice to follow up and provided me step by step detailed guidance.     DO NOT USE THEM!…read more Completely screwed me and STOLE my money. Sent out their repair guy Nick Reynolds - seemed to be a nice enough kid. Claimed to have fixed my dryer and quickly identified issues with my refrigerator and dish washer. I paid him for the labor AND gave him a deposit for the parts to repair the refrigerator and dish washer. He promised to return within no more than 1 week. I paid a total of $375 and he hasn't been back since. Numerous text message exchanges and voice mails but 4 months later, he still has not shown up. I attempted to dispute the charge with my bank but Terrapin Appliance must also be disputing on their end. To make matters worse, a REAL appliance repair company showed up and accurately diagnosed the problem with my appliances. So not only are the folks who work for Terrapin Appliance apparently thieves, they are also bad at their jobs. DO NOT USE THEM!

Left and called the insurance company. He came back in and said the unit was not covered. I asked what he told them to have the claim denied. He would not tell me. I asked what his assessment was of the machine and what was wrong. He would not tell me that either. This place is a scam. Avoid at all costs. There are many other appliance repair places to go to and not have to deal with this horrible service and attitude.

He properly evaluated there were major broken parts costing $500 to repair and left the house to file the warranty claim. Not only did we have the original two year warranty, but I spent an additional $130 for extending the warranty to five years. After he left our house, he reported that the failure was due to "overloading the washer" with no evidence, no indication, and no common sense. We are two grandparents living by ourselves with little laundry that we do quite often, so the loads are small. Whirlpool used to be a quality brand, and with a $600 washer with all of the sensors included to complete a proper wash, you would think the sensors would let you know if it truly was overloaded. Anyway, specifically because of the DMV technician's claim that the damage was our fault, the insurance will not reimburse us. I have filed a claim to the Better Business Bureau and will continue to fight this until it is fixed.
