It all started with our brand loyalty for Sears brand. Why not, Sears is one of the big and reliable name in Home Appliances retail. We bought our home 5 years ago and we bought all appliances from Sears, so that we have peace of mind.
Next step as a home owner is to protect your home and have a great Home Warranty service company to take care of you, in case you any issues with appliances, heating and cooling. We had several options to choose from, however once again our brand loyalty kicked in and we choose Sears Home Warranty and decided to pay every month to Sears to take care of our households - (The biggest mistake we made, please don't make this mistake). All was good, until one chilly day in October our heating stopped working, boom, our Furness broke. I called sears and their very polite representatives answered my call and schedule a vendor company to visit us and diagnose problem and fix it. Two days passed by but no one showed up. I called back Sears and they schedule another company to come and look. Once again no one came or called me, so I called the vendor company to schedule appointment and vendor told me that they don't work with Sears any more since last year. This was time when I started to have bad feeling about my Furness getting fixed any time soon. I called back Sears and they schedule another vendor for me. Airforce one Heating Cooling Austin with very bad reviews on Yelp. Repair person Chris came to our home to diagnose the problem and, based on his skills I could guess he didn't know anything about Furness or Air Conditioning. Anyways, I was believing in Sears judgement to on picking up right vendor to do the job (Wrong believe) . I paid Chris $107 as deductible and he told me that circuit board on unit has gone bad and he will order it. Now we are in month of November and close to Thanksgiving more than a month since this started. Chilly weather is already hitting us now and with two young kids it became exceedingly difficult to survive without heating, so I bought couple heaters from Home Depot for temporary relief. After numerous calls to Sears and Airforce one AC company, finally Chris told us that he got the wrong part and he wanted me to take pictures of board and send it to him, which I did and again and started to wait. Thanksgiving past and I understood due to holiday season there may be delays. In first week of December Chris called me and told be that he received circuit board and he is coming to fix it. We all were super excited about our home getting heat back before Christmas. Chris came and went in attic to install new board and came out with disappointment. He told us "Sorry board was not the problem to begin with, actually it is motor" and I will go back and order motor. All our excitement turned into disappointment and fear of living in a freezing cold home again for not sure how long. Another week passed, and Chris didn't call or pickup phone, so I called Sears again. Sears followed up with Chris and told me that he doesn't want to get back to us and he lied to Sears that we are not keeping appointments. Not only that, Sears representative also squeezed rest of my hope by saying that it is my fault and they can't do anything anymore and closing case without resolution. We were terribly upset and angry. However, we couldn't wait any more after 3 months of freezing cold. Finally, I decided to give up on Sears Home warranty and I called a profession company Service Wizard with great Yelp Reviews, they came same day and told be Motor was bad indeed, and next day came and installed new motor and everything came back to normal. I am asking Sears to reimburse the money I paid to get heating fixed which they are completely denying it. Finally, I request you all reading this to never get into this Home Warranty Scam from Sears. I is not only wastage of your money but also cause for pain and frustration.
To Sears: You still have good brand please don't damage it this way. We are very disappointment in you. Please reimburse our expense, because I have paid you for years and now it is time for you to pay back. read more
