    Sopaipilla
    Sheshanna P.

Overall: Seared does an excellent job cooking protein but their sides and appetizers could use some refinement. Food: Appetizers: We got a variety including duck confit egg rolls, encrusted brie, fried asparagus, mussels, rattlesnake sausages and sopaipillas. The encrusted brie was a crowd favorite (who doesn't love fried cheese?) but I thought the addition of bread was unnecessary when the brie provided its own crispy texture. The mussels were good but a little spicy so beware! The sopaipilla was my least favorite dish. They served bite sized sopaipillas with cheese on top. A delicious idea but the sopaipilla was chewy and flat rather than fluffy. All entrees come with the option of a soup or salad. French Onion Soup: This was my side of choice and it was super salty. Norwegian Salmon: The salmon was perfectly cooked. It was flaky and moist but had crispy skin. The saffron tomato risotto that came with it was undercooked. The Farm: This comes with duck leg confit, lamb chop, and rotating protein (elk for our meal). Each meat was perfectly cooked. The duck meat fell off the bone easily and was succulent. The lamb chop and elk were tender and not overcooked. The green chile risotto that came with it was quite spicy! However, it does seem variable as others had the same side but it was less spicy. Lemon Leche Cake: True to its name, it was very lemony while keeping the tres leche cake flavor. It was quite cold. Service: 4 Our servers were very patient with our large group and did not make any mistakes with our orders. Ambiance: 4 Seared is a small restaurant with a southwest theme. It would be a nice restaurant for a casual date or dinner with friends. It has its own parking lot.

This is my favorite date night spot. It's always a hit never a miss, the food, service, and atmosphere are always great! My favorite is the Brie.

This is the outside. When we pulled up on the backside, the building looks kind of dumpy, but going inside we saw it was really cool.

My wife and I had just done several hikes up in the Sandia mountains and wanted to find a burger place. Seared looked good and was fairly close to our hotel. On the outside, the place didn't look too attractive until we went in and found a very charming little restaurant. Our server, Casper, was a very friendly informative guy who knew their menu well. He made eating their five stars for sure. I'm both gluten and dairy intolerant and called ahead to make sure they could accommodate. My wife and I each had a burger and mine was on gluten-free bread and my wife had hers on a regular bun. My wife loved her hamburger and I enjoyed mine, although they don't carry yellow mustard, which is something that I always douse my burgers with. I also had a green salad and a side of green chile marinated roasted red potatoes, which were outstanding Everything was so delicious. The only down side was we found the burgers a little bit greasy, and we both are trying to watch our fat intake. I would also hoping in the future, they would carry yellow mustard for us guys from the Midwest. I would highly recommend this place and would visit again next time we come to Albuquerque.

Well, I really wanted this to be a different review. I would like to start off by saying that Jan, one of the owners, is a lovely woman. After my last experience, she offered a chance to try it again, and comp our meal. I thought it was very kind of her. We arrived at 6:30 on a Monday and were looking forward to trying it, again. It wasn't very busy, the dining room had maybe four tables filled when we arrived. I do like the ambience of the restaurant, it's cute with a sprinkling of sophistication, and reminds me a bit of Soho in NYC.. We ordered the encrusted brie and it was wonderful. The pine nuts were excellent as well as the strawberries and little crostini. There was a mixture of crackers in there as well. The brie wasn't incredibly melty like I'm used to, but it was for about a quarter inch around it and then the center was pretty solid. Still the flavor was delicious. The next course was the Caesar salads and they were wry good. My friend remarked that she loved the amount of dressing and we both found it very flavorful. Especially with a twist of lemon. The waiter ground fresh pepper over it and things were off to a wonderful start. Once the salad plates were taken from the table, the entire meal went downhill. We were ignored by the waiter. I mean, completely ignored. Several tables came in after us. They were seated and fed their full meal, paid and left. Still we waited. And then we waited some more. The table behind us ordered the lamb shank and a steak. I saw the food come out and the gentleman enjoyed the lamb shank, but the woman's steak was cooked wrong. They took it back and she waited, and waited, and waited. Then our waiter literally ran to the table to give her her steak. He still did not make eye contact with us or acknowledge our existence. Mind you, they had come in at least 40 minutes after we had. They paid their ticket and left. A table of six came in, and they all received their meals, and still, we waited. At 8:10, the waiter finally came back and acknowledged our existence. He told us that our meal was delayed, which we knew because we had seen everyone else get served before us. I let him know that we had been there for an hour and a half, and he pointed at the table of six, and said that their orders have gone ahead of ours. At 8:20, our meal finally came out. I had ordered the scallops, but requested a substitution for the side dish, because I can't eat prosciutto and melon. So I decided to give the mushroom risotto another try. I love risotto, and I really wanted theirs to be good. Our meals came, my friend had ordered the filet mignon and also a side of mushroom risotto, as well. The scallops were fine, but had been sitting too long, presumably, waiting for the steak to be done. So the scallops were cold, the risotto had turned partially gelatinous and was lukewarm. It was not worth the wait. My friend's filet mignon was too tough to cut, and except for the very center was overcooked. It was literally charcoal on the bottom, not seared like the namesake, but charred. Her mushroom risotto did not come out, so we asked the waiter if he could bring out the side that we had ordered. He apologized, and was nice about it. It was pretty much the most he'd spoken to us in over an hour. When her risotto came out, it was awesome. Because it was still hot. Great flavor, great texture, the way risotto should be. Maybe it was just another bad night. Maybe they are incredible. Maybe I just have really bad luck, choosing days. The meal was comped, and a very nice waiter from the other side with a beard and glasses, came over and apologized for our wait and listened to the concerns about the lukewarm scallops and risotto and the charcoal briquette of a filet mignon. He also seemed surprised at how badly the steak was cooked. It was a mixed bag. Some of it was incredible, some of it was not so incredible. It has a lot of potential to be amazing. And a regular spot, but unfortunately, it still didn't land., for us.

Had a great experience, especially when it came to gluten-free options--the menu was clearly marked and offered plenty of choices. Waiter was knowledgeable about cross contamination. I ordered the salmon with risotto, and it was delicious. My daughter, who also has celiac disease, had the shrimp and sausage kabobs with red potatoes, and she absolutely loved her meal. For dessert, we shared the crème brûlée, which was hands-down the highlight of the night. Seared is a solid choice for anyone looking for a gluten-free-friendly dining experience.

Filet de Bouef ($37) with Au Poivre ($3)

We had a great Friday night dinner here and enjoyed every part of the experience. We started with the spicy scallops ($22), which had a nice balance of heat and flavor. The starter salad came with a creamy blue dressing that I really liked. For my main dish, I had the duck breast ($22), which was cooked just right and paired well with the sides. My mom and sister ordered the Filet de Boeuf with Au Poivre sauce ($40) and enjoyed it very much. The staff were warm and attentive, taking the time to explain the specials and make us feel welcome. It was a wonderful meal, and I'd definitely come back.

We came to Seared after graduation. We arrived earlier than our reservation and were seated straight away. Service was outstanding as always. They were attentive to our needs throughout the meal and answered any questions we had when ordering. They never disappoint when it comes to the food. Plated beautifully and cooked to perfection. Highly recommend this restaurant.

    Braised Lamb Shank Pasta

We were looking for something a little more "upscale" in Albuquerque and this was one of the few options we found. I'm so glad that we picked it! We got there early for happy hour and found that they had some REALLY good deals on their apps! The Charcuterie Board was enough for 3-4 people and had a lot of different options. I expected the Encrusted Brie to come in a puff pastry, and was surprised that it looked to be breaded and deep-fried. However, it was delicious! Like no other brie appetizer I've ever had! The portions on the main dishes were MASSIVE! They could have cut the servings in half and it would still have been a good value. As they were, they were enough for 2-3 servings! I got the Braised Lamb Shank Pasta. The pasta itself wasn't anything special, but the lamb was beautifully tender and the sauce was excellent. Not pictured (sorry!) but by far the dish of the night was the Buffalo Short Rib. A HUGE chunk of short rib with a nice, salty sauce and the meat literally fell off the bone- it was perfectly cooked. There was also a Green Chile Risotto that I wouldn't call a risotto, but it doesn't matter because it was delicious! If you're looking for upscale food in Albuquerque and also want good value, this is the place!

Crispy Brussels sprouts had great flavor but way too much cayenne pepper (which adds nothing but heat) my husband ate them but said he would prefer less heat. I had 2 bites and gave up. Baked brie was amazing I loved the granny Smith apples! My husband loved them too. We also got the hummus duo which has dates on it and I used a date in the brie that was fantastic! I'll ask for that next time! It was the bomb. Hummus duo was good the watermelon radish was beautiful on the plate but gave both hummus a bitter flavor. Shrimp and grits. We live in Alabama currently and this was our least favorite dish of the day. Shrimp were cooked well and so were the grits but there was just something else it needed. Parmesan cheese and some onions maybe. Greek salad delicious. The flash fried chick peas made it. We needed more dressing and the wait staff was prompt and sweet about it. Spicy Lime Ceasar was ok till he requested more dressing then it was amazing. I was afraid of ordering it but the dressing wasn't too spicy . White sangria I had was disappointing it was more of a 1995 wine spritzer than a wine infused with citrus which is the very essence of sangria. It was ok and had I ordered a wine spritzer I would say yummo but I ordered sangria. Pork Belly flat bread was the winner of the night the tomato jam made that dish. I would love more on it next time but we will definitely be ordering that dish again! Yes we had a lot of left over food! But I love sampling a menu and this menu has a lot to offer. We will be back to try 4 or five other things. I look forward to my return.

In a rare turn of events, both kids got the same thing, the Korean chicken bites with the sauce on the side, which was a great decision bc it did have a kick to it. The chicken itself was a bit dry. Both adults also got the pork belly flatbread. I found it a bit unbalanced with too much sauce and not enough other toppings, and the base wasn't as crispy as I prefer. Speaking of crispy, we opted for the appetizer brussel sprouts, and they were a bit chewy and on the not so super crispy side. Service was fine, and glad to have a little break from heavier New Mexican cuisine on this night. Lots of variety on the cocktail and adult beverage menu too.

Their early week special is a 14oz boneless strip which is beefy and juicy, don't over cook this as it will toughen up. Their late week prime rib is thick, tender and wall to wall pink. They do have horseradish if you ask. Their ribeyes are on the smaller side, but very good quality. They have their own butcher and not a chef who does the butchery. The baked potat is generous sized and well accompanied. Prices are decent, quality is good and portions are excellent. Feels more midwest than southwest in vibe, but the Greek immigrant influence is interesting as I'm curious how Bakalava and dolmas and a shish kabob might taste. The Ham & cheese and grilled cheese just seem out of place, but not more than seeing Milk on the menu.....with sizes offered. My ideal meal here is the late week speciall prime rib, with fried shimp and chopped green chilis. Fried mozzarella sticks and a shrimp cocktail to start. They let you order cold center which is how I like my porterhouse and ribeyes. The salads don't come with tomatoes, but their burgers do, weird. After several locals recommended Antiquity, we quickly learned why reservations are so hard to come by. We couldn't secure a table on our actual anniversary, but managed to get one a couple of nights later, and it was well worth the wait. From the outside, Antiquity is understated. Step inside, however, and you're immediately welcomed into a warm, intimate atmosphere that feels like a hidden gem tucked away in Old Town Albuquerque. Owner Steve, who has been running the restaurant for nearly three decades, greeted us personally. His passion for hospitality was evident from the moment we arrived. While we waited briefly for our table, he took time to learn about us, ask what types of food we enjoy, and offer thoughtful menu recommendations. The restaurant itself is charming and authentic, with an old-world steakhouse feel that perfectly complements the historic New Mexico setting. Many of the tables and booths are arranged to create private, intimate dining spaces, making it an ideal choice for special occasions. We were touched when Steve seated us at what he called the "anniversary table," complete with a small scattering of heart confetti, despite our celebration having technically passed. Service throughout the evening was exceptional. Rather than relying on a single server, the entire staff worked seamlessly together. Water glasses were never less than half full, empty plates disappeared almost instantly, and every member of the team seemed genuinely invested in ensuring guests had a memorable experience. Even the kitchen staff engaged warmly with diners, adding to the welcoming atmosphere. As for the food, it exceeded every expectation. We started with oysters on the half shell, which my husband thoroughly enjoyed. I upgraded to the special salad, a beautiful combination of greens, apples, strawberries, mandarin oranges, walnuts, bacon, and a creamy mini brie, all brought together with a delicious pear vinaigrette. For our entrée, we chose the Châteaubriand for two. It was expertly prepared, carved tableside, and cooked perfectly. Every recommendation we received was spot-on, and the meal was so impressive that before leaving, I made another reservation for later that week just so I could return and try more of the menu before our trip ended. Antiquity offers beer and wine rather than a full bar, which was perfectly fine for us and fit the restaurant's classic, understated character. This is not an inexpensive dinner, nor should it be. What you're paying for is exceptional food, genuine hospitality, flawless service, and an atmosphere that is increasingly difficult to find. Antiquity doesn't simply serve dinner, it creates an experience. If you're visiting Albuquerque and looking for a memorable meal, especially for a special occasion, this restaurant deserves a spot at the very top of your list.

Arrived a few minutes early for our celebratory reservation and were seated right away in a quiet, private book surrounded by art and dim lighting. For starters, my gumbo was good, and his salad looked as good as it tasted. For entrees, husband got sucked in by the specials and ordered the schnitzel, which (to quote Shania) didn't impress me much. To clarify, there was nothing wrong with it, but I've had a lot of schnitzel, and it just failed to stand out. I kept to the classics with a filet mignon. To my surprise, it left the same impression. Again, absolutely nothing wrong with it - cooked well, quality cut, etc. - but I've had more memorable steaks at High Noon Saloon. *shrug* Highlight: The servers were exceptional. Lowlight: The sconce / light fixture over our table was in need of a dusting. Overall: A lovely evening to toast my guy's significant professional achievement. Would recommend if you find yourself stuck in the rut of bad service when dining out. Antiquity's dinner service will remind you how a night on the town is supposed to feel!

We began with perfectly prepared scallops--tender and flavorful--followed by a phenomenal roasted red bell pepper bisque. The Tomahawk steak was impeccably served and expertly sliced, with extra care taken to ensure it met our approval. The handmade key lime pie was beyond description--truly unforgettable. After dinner, the staff gave us a tour of the various dining rooms and a charming gift shop. Fun fact--Season 1, Episode 1 of the series "Pluribus" was filmed here, and stars like Bryan Cranston and Johnny Depp have been known to dine at this spot. Now, Vernon's isn't for everyone--this is an experience to be savored, with the service and ambiance deserving of proper appreciation and tipping. But if you're ready for an unforgettable evening, it's absolutely worth it.

The meat has been consistently tender and juicy although I tend toward something close to medium or medium well, and absolutely delicious. I don't generally eat a lot of steak, and Seasons 52 is actually the only place I've had one in the few years since my first one there. I've been there with groups of people, all of whom enjoyed their meals and drinks. Service has been consistently excellent, and the environment (and parking) have been lovely. Note: Today's Yelp email was about places to get a great steak, which inspired this review. Highly recommend, with thanks.

I moved from my chair at the end of the table to the end of the "booth" which helped some. Our party of 5 ordered appetizers, sides, mains, drinks & desserts and everyone liked their food EXCEPT the truffled risotto. It was too salty for me (though not everyone) but it was unanimously agreed that the rice was not done. Hard rice in a risotto is unacceptable. I ordered the Brick-Oven Roasted Chilean Sea Bass and I liked it. I love the calorie counts but some of them seemed hard to believe (like the gnocchi).

It's in a historic area but the inside is chic, modern, and lively. Bold paint colors, unique bar and table sets, and they even have chandeliers hanging from the ceiling. The only caveat is that it is LOUD. Between the noise of eating, talking, and the music, it is difficult to hear each other. The service was excellent. I wish I could remember his name to give him a shout-out. He was knowledgeable about the menu and had great suggestions for drinks, appetizers and main dishes. He also, was friendly and funny, and took care of us without hovering but was somehow always there when we needed something. The food was excellent, with large portions, great flavors, clean ingredients and fresh new takes on a lot of dishes. I had the Sourdough Gnocchi with onions, brocolini, and added salmon. It was truly amazing! They had a blackberry shrub, which is non-alcoholic, that I was able to add alcohol to and it was delicious! We also had the calamari for an appetizer and it was beautifully done, perfectly cooked, with light breading, and excellent sauces to dip it in. If you haven't been, I would highly recomend you check it out!
