Even if you find yourself in this position. Do not waste your time or money here. We were in this hotel for a conference and needed to eat lunch in between sessions. The restaurant was half empty. We sat down and put in our order within a few minutes. Literally 75min go by and no one came by to say anything, give us an update, nada. We even raised our hands and no one came by. We had to get up and flag down staff. We asked specifically how much longer because it had already been over an hour with no server coming by and we were already 20 minutes late to our next conference session. They said 5min after we pressed him to give us an actual estimated timeframe. We asked for to go boxes at this point. But then 5min turned out to be 15min and we missed our conference session and were starving so just ate out of the boxes. They didn't even bother to comp any part of our meal. Subjective: After a long week of conference, my co-workers and I decided to celebrate our last night by treating ourselves to a nice meal, and our only requirement was to not have to leave to hotel since we were all pretty worn. Unfortunately, my expectations of a delicious experience were not quite met. The filet mignon was lacking in flavor dry and a little too cooked for the medium I requested. The texture of the sides also didn't seem quite right, with the brussel sprouts coming to us mushy and oily and the potatoes au gratin too firm and slightly uncooked. The saving grace was their large assortment of bread and attentive service. I left full, but unsatisfied. We went here during dragon con while we were starting at the Marriott which sear is located inside. It's upscale kinda. I imagine during dinner they are but the decor is modern & the servers are well dressed. However you can wear casual inside. It was a Saturday morning so we got the brunch buffet. It was $17 or so and good for the value. Not as much seafood as we expected based on the hype from the signs around but it was good. The shrimp and grits were awesome. They also had crispy fried fish - super flaky and tender. They had sauteed salmon, green beans, potatoes, biscuits, hush puppies & a couple other items. They also had soups and desserts. Overall, not a bad deal at all. We were super hungry so we definitely had seconds and thirds. Only reason I didn't give it one star is because I did take into account it was Dragoncon weekend. Ordered 5oz filet mignon Side of Mac and cheese Side of fingerling potatoes It was a later dinner and we waited for 20 minutes to be seated, which the restaurant was only half full and a ton of wait staff. I appreciate that they weren't overfilling their restaurant and maybe causing their service to suffer. Not the case. Before I get to the food, the service was slow, and we never got our water refilled till the end of the meal when had to ask another service for water. Waited a very long time for a sub par meal which was very expensive. The potatoes were ok though for a $8 side hardly worth it, but the biggest offender was the mac&cheese and the steak. Mac and cheese came in a small cup, was barely warmed and at this point, the cheese had congealed. When asked if they could replaced it.. an even worse option. Essentially buttered noodles with no cheese, and the bread crumbs hadn't even been toasted.. but least it was warm. The steak I didn't realize was a filet mignon cause of the cut and it was smaller then 5oz's. Asked for medium rare and was served Medium Well, also Insultingly served on an oversized plate to hit home the fact you paid $40 for a poorly done steak and still need to buy $8 sides for If you are attending drgaoncon or not, their are FAR better options a few minutes walk in the food court. If you can leave the hotel and go to another restaurant I highly advise it. The hostess was rude so that started off the bad experience. Our server didn't come to the table for 10 min and when she did she said she would be right back. 10 min later she took our drink orders. She wasn't overly friendly but that was fine. All the drinks arrived separately. First sodas for the kids, then wine bottle, and 10 minutes later the cocktails arrived. So now we've been here for 40ish minutes and order apps. The meatballs were dry and the bread was ok. The main entree portion was the real disaster. The prices are expensive but we assumed this is a steakhouse so not surprised really. 4 of the entrees arrived, but there were 5 of us. The runner, not the server, had to go find out where my son's skirt steak was. Meanwhile my cowboy ribeye was thin and overcooked. I ordered medium rare and it was well. My son's arrived rare and he ordered medium. The server took them both back. By the time we received new steaks all the sides were cold, so they had to warm them up. The food was average at best. The server never apologized and management never came to our table. I would expect more when I'm spending $600 on a meal for 5 people. There are many better places in Atlanta. We were here for the Peach Bowl with friends, so we didn't want to venture out of the hotel on New Years Eve. I know this experience wasn't just us. This is for a brunch and special occasion only. Various lunch and breakfast items were available. I did feel they leaned more torwards lunch items overall. I had my omelette Chef made, so no complaints. I worked with the event manager on the room for a private function. However the manager,Claire, is the one who really stood out. She helped moved tables, volunteered herself in multiple platforms and was the manager who was present when I had a need or question. I've done,many events in my past, I almost had the function several other places. The bride to be made this a strong suggestion, so I gave up more elaborately themed places. Highly disappointed... $19 for a buffet breakfast that is literally LESS quality than the free buffet breakfast you'd get at an embassy suites hotel. Not to mention, you'd get comparable hotel atmosphere at an Embassy Suites as well, before you even account for the awesome breakfast. Quite abysmal here, actually. Service is subpar, and proper service would potentially make up the disparity between food quality and price. The coffee is revolting, and they don't even have many options. It is $7 for a shot of espresso! I can't make this stuff up. Don't waste your time or money. If you're okay with the price points like we are, choose a place that's actually worth the money. This place is an utter disaster of complete incompetence. Took 15 minutes for anyone to approach the table, then 15 mins after, the drinks finally arrived. The meal took over an hour to arrive and once it did, 5 out of six dinners were inedible and incorrectly delivered. Steak dramatically undercooked (blue) and were told 45 mins after ordering the chef wasn't comfortable preparing the ordered cauliflower dish - so two members of our party just couldn't eat. Easily the worst experience in a restaurant I've ever had. Servers, manager, and chefs all have no business anywhere near a restaurant. I came here last Spring with two friends who chose the spot, since I'd just moved to Atlanta a few months prior. The restaurant was beautifully decorated with a large bar on the left when you walk in and plenty of dining tables throughout the large restaurant. I had the Crisped Half Joyce Farms Chicken with the Butter Whipped potatoes. It was VERY delicious. The decor might be upscale, but the attitude and food was abysmal. No wonder the average rating was low. I was staying at the Atlanta Marquis in May 2022. My friends and I only came here because the attached Food Court did not have a sit down and dine-in restaurant in the morning on the weekend. The food court selection is amazing, but this is not a review of the attached food court. First things first. My friends visited at a not so busy time. There were plenty of booths available and we asked for one. We were not given one, despite the fact that there were several available one. We were seated in the small tables with small chairs. My friend eventually went up to the hostess and talked to her. Apparently, the booths were reserved ahead of time, which, is a plausible explanation, if the hostess bothered to share that information with us. Very unfriendly. How the heck would we know it was reserved if there were no signage on those empty booths and we cannot read minds. Now the bad part. We didn't come here for the breakfast buffet. We wanted a hot meal prepare and served to us. We got our meals. It was definitely cooked, however, our English Muffins were not even warm/toasted. My friend ordered sausage patties and if it was not for the way it was cooked, we probably would have been okay dining here. The cooked sausage patty still had the wax paper attached to the bottom of the patty. My party and I could have live with the barely toasted english muffin, but the wax paper on food is a health hazard. We alerted our server about the situation and the manager had to get involved. We just wanted them to know that if this was happening to us, this might be happening to others and they need to identify the person who was cooking the meal about their mistake. Over all, our sever was great. I wish the hostess was more forthcoming with an explanation and make sure whoever is working in the kitchen serves food that is not still attached to its packaging. read more

My wife and I just finished our meal on a Saturday night around 9:30pm and we were both thoroughly impressed with the food. Not many people in the restaurant and we were immediately seated upon arrival without a reservation. I ordered the Filet Mignon medium rare + and my steak came out perfect temp with an amazing flavor and a clove of roasted garlic on the side. Mac and cheese was excellent and mashed Yukon potatoes were good but a tad dry. My wife had a spinach and goat cheese salad which looked great and she said was amazing as well as a twice baked potato which she said was one of the best vegetarian dishes she'd had. She had a glass of Rosé and I had the whiskey flight with Basil Hayden, Four Roses, and Mitchels which was great. For the price point that was easily the best steak I've ever eaten, period. Price point aside that may be the 2nd best steak I've ever eaten and that includes steaks up to $80 bone in filet at the best restaurants in DFW, TX or anywhere else I've been for that matter. Our bill before tip was only $112 of which $32 of that was drinks. It seems most of the bad reviews are people complaining about price or service not the food. If you can't afford to eat at a higher end place you shouldn't be dining there. A comparable meal at a high end place is easily $150-200 with a single drink a piece for a couple so I would consider this place affordable by comparison. Our waitress came by a sufficient amount or as needed for refills/drink requests and time between her checking the table may have been slightly higher than usual but most people enjoying a nice meal out don't want to be bothered unnecessarily by the wait staff. read more

I ate here for dinner with my manager's family after working at Americas's Mart for the trade show. This is a hotel restaurant that's a little on the pricey side, but it wasn't too bad. I ordered the soup of the day, butternut squash soup, bacon brussel sprouts, and a rack of ribs, which came with french fries and a side of cole slaw. The soup was very creamy and heavy, which didn't leave me much room to finish the ribs and brussel sprouts. But, those brussel sprouts, were delicious! It had thick cut bacon and perfectly cooked brussel sprouts. We finished off our meal with a 15 layer chocolate cake which was amazing!! Our server was Patrick and he did a phenomenal job! We thought maybe the kitchen was not careful in timing various dishes. Regardless, considering a Tuesday night at 730, there is no excuse at this price point. This is a 4.5 star experience. I'm taking off one a half star because the cappuccino machine was broken. So I couldn't order one. But the service and staff here are outstanding. I was met with series of "good mornings, and hello" and offers to "let them know if I needed anything". Everyone spoke and that was impressive. I dined for breakfast and opted for the buffet it was very nicely laid out with plenty of options. My favorite station is the cook to order egg, pankcakes/waffles. The chef working this area was amazing. Super attentive and my pancakes were perfectly done. I ordered three different versions so he had his work cut out for him (blueberry, chocolate chip and one regular). They all require different cooking times but he nailed it! They have a syrup station with various types. I absolutely loved the pecan syrup. It was so good I wanted to roll my body in it and swim around. Don't worry I restrained myself. But seriously it was yummy!! I also loved their granola bar station. I made my own parfait. Choosing from yogurt, homemade granola, strawberries, walnuts and crasains. I drizzled a little honey on top and went to town! They have plenty of meat options, turkey sausage and bacon. They also have grits, homefries and hard boiled eggs, etc. But I didn't like them so didn't try it. But the bacon was pretty crispy and yummy. There's a ton of pastries, bagels, fruit (both cut and whole). Also orange juice (I'm assuming other juices) came with the meal and free refills. So that was a nice bonus. You can go back as much as you like since it is buffet style and for $30 I felt like it was fair. Finally I noticed that the head chef and I assume the manager or GM of the restaurant was walking around checking each station meticulously and having the staff change out what he didn't like. No. Just NO. We were EXTREMELY disappointed in our Valentines Day experience at Sear. I'm giving it one star because there is not an option for anything less. The story is too long to draft here, however, in a nutshell..... it went from bad to worse swiftly. Let me start by saying that even though it was Valentines Day, it was not packed by any stretch of the imagination. From our waiter, who clearly did not want to be at work based on his attitude and aloof demeanor, to the wrong food being brought out TWICE, our entire experience could not adequately be described here on this platform. The manager finally came over well after the fact to check on us. It was really a too little too late situation at this point. While the decor is hip and chic, there is little to be desired about the new SEAR. It is obvious for more than a few reasons, that this establishment should have done a bit more training of its staff before reopening its doors. The waiter continued to tell us that they were "experimenting" with the new menu as they have only been reopened for a month. Every time we asked about a certain dish, he said, "I don't recommend that." Our question was, "Why?" His response... "it hasn't been getting good reviews." So why then is it still on the menu???????? The manager attempted to make it right but unfortunately his attempt fell short. We mutually decided that we don't need to go back to SEAR anytime soon. I should have listened to him when he read the reviews before going and was concerned about the 3 star rating. Now we know. We left and grabbed drinks and a few more appetizers at Cafe Intermezzo to make up for our experience at SEAR. read more

I walked by this restaurant and was so impressed by it visually I fully intended to have dinner there later in the evening. Unfortunately conferences being how they are I didnt make it to dinner there until three days later. Luckily it was well worth the effort made to actually eat here. It was absolutely beautiful inside. The service was top notch, my steak was perfectly cooked and I left full and very happy. The next morning I went back for their breakfast buffet. Perhaps on another occassion I'll sit at the chef's table and watch the kitchen. Knowing we were getting full meals, we shared a generous portion of their salad bowl for starters @ $11. Main course was a simple grilled fish prepared exactly as my wife wanted, and was excellent@ 29 bucks. My Kansa City strip was huge and tender with a special kosher salt rub and delicious @ 36. The mild seasoning flavor was really different and quite enjoyable. Came to find out from the chef it's a Marriott specialty. One order of 15 layer cake was enough for 4 or 6 people. And after our dinner, who had room for more than a few bites, which was all I wanted in the first place. For hotel dining, this is excellent. For non-hotel dining, it's VERY VERY good.
