Came here for dinner with my husband and overall the food was great! We ordered got the server to course the dinner out as we were sharing everything. We started with the complimentary cornbread which was good but the drizzle sauce made it quite sweet. Then we had: Raw Oysters - Super fresh and delicious; prepared well Mussels - Good but we just weren't a huge fan of the strong pepper taste; very tasty broth overall Catfish & Oyster Pie - Absolutely delicious and so unique 100% recommend this to be ordered Trout - Popular fish as it was selling out fast, and we could see why; it was so tasty and the herb sauce was so smooth too, would 100% order again

Seabird will always be one of my favorites in Wilmington! Chef Deans rotating menu always highlights the beauty of the coast and the service is always top notch. My favorites are the seafood tower which changes weekly but always includes many different types of seafood all prepped in a different way and any of their desserts!

Grabbed cocktails at the bar at Seabird. The space was lovely, guys behind the bar were attentive and kind, and the whole vibe was chill. Also - Love the fact that we could chat while enjoying our drinks! Will add this to the fav rotation of places to grab a drink.

We chose Seabird because of a local recommendation, and they were spot on. The bar when you walk in has a very cool vibe. We chose to sit at the other bar area in front of the kitchen so we could be served by Andy, who happened to have served us the night before at another restaurant. I had oysters (forgot to photograph them). They had 3 varieties, and I sampled all three. They were excellent! My husband ordered the smoked catfish and oyster pie. He enjoyed it so much that he plans to figure out how to make it. If you're visiting Wilmington, give Seabird a visit.

I sat at the bar for a solo dinner and had such a wonderful time chatting with the other patrons and bartenders. I ordered the swordfish schnitzel (they prepared it dairy free for me) and it was wildly delicious. Easily the best swordfish I've had. I unfortunately ate before the camera but their espresso martini is also worth your time. 10/10 all around.

You know the sauce is hot when there's a dropper to dispense it ;)

Had dinner at the Seabird in Wilmington, what a great experience. The Seafood Tower was outstanding - the items are (as it says) seasonal, which makes for inspired eating. The service is top-tier, attentive yet not overbearing. I'm pretty sure the Owner was also there as the lead chef- ensuring everything coming out was perfect. [Correction, it was Dean Neff, the James Beard nominated chef. I can be pretty dense.] The atmosphere is bright and bustling: great energy. Definitely get on their reservations list.

Fantastic food and service. Split the broiled Hollandaise oysters, Serrano NC pork ribs, Eastern Cioppino. Everything was delicious. Chef sent out a taste of the yellowfin tuna Bolognese and a fried fish ball dish. Coming from up North, everything was really unique with its own taste profile. Only regret was we didn't have more people along to try more dishes. We didn't realize that they validate parking at the garage across the street or we would have taken advantage of it.

We ate here for the first time and were blown away! My wife and I opted to forgo appetizers and individual entrees. We shared the seafood tower, which was incredible. The deviled eggs with caviar were my favorite, as well as the blue fin tuna toro. Their desserts were amazing, and my whiskey sour with egg whites was equally impressive. Great waitstaff and cool atmosphere. The chef/owner even came out to talk with us.

Our second visit, this time for brunch. Service was very attentive and helpful with our questions. Food was fresh and presented nicely. Be ready for the smaller portion size. Pleasant ambiance with mostly younger patrons. Still found the prices a bit much for the value.

I visited Seabird with a few girlfriends who were visiting from out of town, and it was exactly the kind of unique local spot we were hoping to find. We made a reservation only a few days in advance. The space is beautiful, and every dish, drink, and dessert was plated with such care and creativity. We shared everything, which was nice to try a bit of everything. The staff were friendly and attentive. I would recommend for a special night out.

I really really wanted to like this place a lot more, but unfortunately, it is difficult to justify the price. Seabirds is a primarily seafood focused restaurant right in the heart of downtown Wilmington. They are an upscale, classy restaurant that has a great atmosphere for a nice date night or special occasion. I had the swordfish schnitzel, it was a huge piece of fish, with a very nice presentation. The fish was fresh, but was a bit heavy handed on the use of fat, which overpowered it a bit. My partner had the smoked catfish, and it was just plain and simple not very good. The breading was soggy and it was overwhelmingly greasy, on an already heavy bed of grits. Again the presentation was nice, but it was not enjoyable. There are lot of great places to get a great meal in Wilmington, unless you are enamored with the location and presentation of their dishes, I would look elsewhere for a classy meal.

This place did not disappoint! Our server was wonderful- actually everyone that worked there was. Started off with some drinks- a perfect dirty martini- and I am typically picky. We had 6 oysters, 2 of each, and the tuna crudo to start. The local Southern Salts were our favorite oysters. For our entrees we had the Eastern Cioppino and the Swordfish Schnitzel. Both great but the Swordfish was a show stopper. Would come back!

Possibly one of the best restaurants I've been to. The ambience and vibe was a casual chic, which matches my vibe;) This was my birthday dinner, & as soon as I entered the restaurant was welcomed by warm smiles & greetings by the staff, immediately acknowledging that we were celebrating a birthday. My table had a sweet birthday note, with the cutest origami bird. My boyfriend got a brightly flavored cocktail called the matchmaker, which was a clarified matcha mojito, that I absolutely loved! Our meal service started with honey drizzled corn muffins that were savory & sweet, like starting our meal with dessert. We were told about this epic seafood tower that was nothing short of spectacular - not your typical seafood tower. This has probably the best raw oysters I've ever had at the top(chefs choice of top sail wilds), then a deviled catfish dip for crackers, oysters escabeche, crab legs, ahi mignonette, deviled eggs, pickled shrimp, & Sambal cocktail - the flavors were a symphonic mix of citrus, brine, acid, spice, omega-3 powered fats, & salt. As if that wasn't enough, we added the red beard roasted carrot salad - which was a fresh salad that wowed with its freshly pulled from the garden quality, & an amazing ginger dressing. We also got the barbecue baked oysters that were packed with flavor from the Worcestershire butter & lemon with a bread crumb topped crunch. To end this fabulous meal We got the black sesame crème brûlée - this desert shined and sealed the meal with a kiss by adding to an already classic dessert a unique but flavorful spin on the cream classic. the butter cookie added a crunchy sweet texture to the caramelized treat! We also had a homemade lavender vanilla ice cream made in house. All this to make my birthday dinner make a girl like me blush, from the genuine thoughtfulness & attentiveness of the service, & chefs kiss on each plate!

She told us about all of the specials and gave us suggestions to help us select our meal, honestly her personality alone made us want to come back but the food sealed the deal. We started with the Filet Tartine which absolutely blew us away, then shared the beef Wellington and the brussells, this was our first time having a Wellington and on top of being delicious the tableside service was outstanding! The side of brussells were the star for sure, with pancetta and apricot, savory but sweet. So amazing. We also shared a few drinks throughout the meal, the tiramisu martini, the lemon meringue, gardens of Augustus, and the10 year tawny, everything was amazing, though we're definitely coming back for the tiramisu martinis! And finally, don't get me started on the view, the large windows face out over the river and look out to the battleship, we got there right as the sun was setting and added to the romance of it all. Overall we had the best Valentines anniversary of 4 years thanks the Ella and her team at Sugo, Thanks!

The service was friendly and attentive, and we started the evening with a bottle of Cambria Katherine's Vineyard Chardonnay (2023), which was a nice way to begin dinner. Unfortunately, the food this time around just didn't live up to what we remember. We started with the Asian Tots, which used to be one of the best items on the menu. In the past, the peanut sauce was poured over the top so everything came together as one dish. Now it's served in a small cup on the side, and there isn't enough of it to properly coat the tots. They also stopped finishing the dish with the salt they used to sprinkle on top, and even the presentation has changed -- the silver dome they once used is gone. What used to be a great appetizer has been reduced to something that's simply okay. For the main courses, the results were mixed but mostly disappointing. My blackened chicken was a little overcooked. My wife ordered the miso salmon, and that was overcooked as well -- which is especially noticeable with fish. When salmon goes past the sweet spot it quickly becomes dry, and that seemed to be the case here. None of the food was terrible, but none of it really stood out either. Dessert didn't help much. I ordered the carrot cake, but what arrived looked more like a small cupcake buried under a heavy amount of icing, with a large mound of whipped cream on the side. There wasn't much actual cake there, and it wasn't what I expected from a carrot cake dessert. One thing that stood out during the meal is that it feels like the kitchen may be constantly adjusting dishes -- moving sauces, changing presentations, tweaking things that didn't necessarily need fixing. In restaurants, sometimes the best move is to pick a lane and execute it consistently rather than continually modifying dishes that customers already liked. So here's the bottom line. Rumcow is not the Rumcow of yesteryear. Was the food terrible? No. But it was mostly meh, and that may be the most disappointing part. This used to be a place known for memorable dishes and small details done right. Right now it feels like a restaurant that has drifted away from what made it special. The atmosphere and service are still good, but the food just doesn't match the reputation it once had.

It's sort of Italian and sort of steak and sort of a little bit of everything. Really clean, strait forward , reasonable menu, nice ambience. It feels kind of high end but the pricing is definitely mid range. I selected the tomato basil soup as my appetizer. It came with a nice toasted crustini. It was a really good soup. It tasted fresh. It had a lot of body to it like, maybe they did the tomatoes here in the house from fresh. It was definitely tomato. The basil was kind in the background, but it was a true red sauce. It was almost tomato paste or tomato sauce flavor. I would've not complained if they given it to me over a bit of penne.. It had a really nice flavor on it not too sweet not too acidic really a very good soup. It came out in a footed coffee cup so you're getting about one cup of soup. The main course was the broiled seafood platter. It was anchored by a large piece of mahi-mahi, that was amazingly well prepared, firm and tasty. To the side of that was a wonderful crabcake, one of the best I've had anywhere and definitely the best in the Carolinas. It did not have too much breading and it had a wonderful texture with lots of good crab flavor. Drizzled across all of this were scallops and shrimp. The shrimp were a little overcooked if you asked me. The scallops were sweet and perfect and everything you would want them to be. The side that comes with this is their crab fries which essentially our beer battered french fries dusted with old bay seasoning. If you've ever had the crab fries at the Philadelphia, ballpark, this is the way they do it. For dessert, I ordered the lemon cello mascarpone cake. It comes drizzled with raspberry sauce. I had visions of lemon curd, and what I got was really good and really lemonade and good cake. But it's not a very big slice. I know about the weight staff. I don't know if they're all good, but mine was exceptional and lovely to talk with. The place was very busy. It had a nice vibe to it, it could've been in South Beach or Miami or Los Angeles, not that it was over over the top just that it was very clean and nice and well done. This is a professional restaurant not some amateur attempt. I recommend it.

Reservations are recommended since the dining room is cozy and they might not be able to accommodate you without one. The place is so cute inside, very cozy with fresh roses on every table. We were seated toward the back against the wall, which is great. This table had comfortable high back chairs that seemed just for the tables for 2. The menu is small, but has a nice variety of favorites that you will find it easy to choose. I asked if there were any specials, but not on Saturday night. Friday night has a short rib special you could call ahead and reserve. That is a nice tip, since she mentioned they may run out. We decided to start with the tomato basil soup and a Caesar salad. Beautiful presentation on the soup and an amazing flavor. So delicious. The salad is very large and looked great. They brought out a second basket of bread with delicious herb butter. I really had to stop eating the bread! For entrees, we went with the goat cheese crusted grouper, with had beautiful puréed potatoes and squash and zucchini. I wasn't sure if I would like goat cheese with grouper, but it was a fantastic pairing. The scallops were large and crispy on the outside on top of a spinach risotto. So rich and tasty. The grouper paired well with a Pinot Grigio. The server went over the dessert choices and there were several to choose from. We decided on a chocolate toffee mousse cake. So incredibly rich and delicious. If you love chocolate, get this cake. My hubs and I shared one slice and it was enough after a filling dinner.
