Enjoyed a beer here but in reviewing the lunch menu, there really wasn't much we were interested in. So drank that beer, enjoyed the pleasant conversation with our bartender and kept going on our walk.

    Riverfront seated in the patio

We went out Good Friday evening as the weather was perfect for river walk dining. We were seated on the patio and started with amazing cocktails. I will say, however our round 2 cocktails were not finished/garnished as nicely as the first ones. The steamed oysters appetizer was delish and the perfect salty bite. Our table ordered bucatini seafood, shrimp and grits, and red fish. I will say, our main meals could have been warmer as they were more like lukewarm when they arrived at the table. We also had two desserts - the apple bread pudding and the raspberry creme brûlée. Something was off on the crème brûlée. However, our overall experience was great. The manager did explain that they have new chefs and are slowly rebuilding their brand. We will be back in the future and look forward to a menu that changes with the seasons.

I really wanted to enjoy this meal, but unfortunately it fell short of expectations. Overall, the food was subpar, especially considering our bill was well over $100. We had requested a seat on the patio, and while the restaurant accommodated that request, we were seated in direct sunlight with no umbrella despite there being several shaded tables available. My wife is pregnant, and sitting in 90-degree weather in full sun made the experience uncomfortable from the start. We would have appreciated being offered one of the many shaded tables. The highlight of the meal was the potato salad--it was by far the best thing we were served. Unfortunately, the mac and cheese was completely lacking in flavor. The fried catfish was inconsistent: my plate was overly salty, while my wife's was under-seasoned, making it seem like there wasn't much consistency in the kitchen. After we shared our honest opinion with the staff, they handled the situation professionally and offered to comp one of our meals, which we genuinely appreciated. They also still brought out our dessert. The banana pudding, however, was another disappointment. It tasted like canned banana pudding rather than homemade, and the whipped cream was slightly over-whipped, which affected the texture. I do want to give credit where it's due--the staff listened to our concerns and made an effort to make things right. Unfortunately, between the uncomfortable seating, the inconsistent food, and the quality not matching the price, this visit wasn't worth the $100+ we spent. I hope this was just an off day because the restaurant has the potential to do much better. This version is likely to be taken seriously because it acknowledges the restaurant's effort to resolve the issue while clearly explaining why the overall experience did not meet your expectations.

I think y'all are sleeping on this spot. We've dined here twice and both times were delish. Most recently, we shared the crab dip, fried green tomato's, and Market Catch which was grouper with risotto, squash, greens and sauce. All were fantastic and all while watching the sunset over the river.. perfection!

I want to start this review by stating that after eating here several times in the past, it has been a few years since we've been here. That said, I was definitely "underwhelmed" this visit. First, our waitress was slow and not engaged. Although she checked on us several times throughout the meal, she acted as if she was new to the task. Second, the food was not memorable. We started with the crab dip and this was probably the highlight of the meal. My wife and son got the Captain's Platter (fried seafood) and I tried some of it. Very little flavor and the oysters were overcooked. I ordered the blackened redfish. Because it was blackened, I was expecting much more flavor than I got. I was simply disappointed with the food. The atmosphere itself was as charming as always. If trying to decide whether to eat here or not, just don't expect too much and you'll probably be fine.

Beautiful restaurant by the river, we were able to see a stunning sunset before & as we were dining. We were sat at a further corner away from the busy main area so it was nicely quiet for our group to chit chat & enjoy our time. The services were fast & smooth, the waitress made sure our drinks were refilled and check on us multiple times. Food came out at a good pace, we didn't feel rush eating or waited too long. I ordered Blackened Redfish, it was sadly a bit too salty for my liking, but the LAYER OF CRAB RICE UNDERNEATH WAS AMAZING. Would just ordered this separately next time if I could. My partner ordered the Fried green Tomatoes - they enjoyed it, I was okay with it, also was too salty for my liking.

This place is near the end of the River walk with a beautiful view. Sit outside if you can. We had a small dog with us. They are dog friendly. The staff were super helpful and kind. Great service and great food. My wife and I both got the Hot Honey Chicken Sandwich. We left nothing. We killed it. So... so good. We also both got the house side salad and Gin and Tonic. Wonderful lunch. Will definitely return! Nice job folks.

Went to lunch and ordered shrimp and grits. Just ok, grits should be creamier and although shrimp was good I did not care for the sauce.

We started with a nice draft and the baked crab dip. To me the horseradish is a unique ingredient that sounds odd but makes this an excellent dip. Coupled with the garlic bread it is a rather decadent starter. Since we are leaving the coast, we also enjoyed an order of local oysters? Fresh and tasty. I liked the "pico de gallo" and the habanero mango sauce. That made for a new way to enjoy the oysters. And finally, I enjoyed the Cajun shrimp tacos. The shrimp were seasoned and prepared to absolute perfection. Our server Damani was very nice, cheery and attentive. She did a great job and we appreciated that. I was pleasantly surprised with this place. I thought it was more touristy and would be ok at best. But it was one of the better lunches I've had in the past month of traveling up the southeast Atlantic coast.

Inside it's pub style, bar available and good music, but not much seating which explains the wait ;) We ordered the 109 Chestnut Chicken Sandwich, the Hot Roasted Pork Sandwich and the Reuben. Our waitress recommended not getting the onion rings app and to do it as sides to save money, and man, we had SO MANY leftovers. The pork sandwich is super good but so filling. I could only eat half with all the onion rings! The Reuben was absolutely delicious and I would 1000% get that again. The best thing on the menu in our opinion: the Cheese Steak Egg Rolls with chipotle mayo- OMG. We will DREAM about these!!! I haven't seen these talked about much- TRY THEM, they were literally mouth watering and I would have eaten them as an entree and not an app! Overall we would come back again, just be prepared to wait forever for a table and you won't be disappointed!

"Good Mexican with a twist near downtown Wilmington"…read more Came here on a Wednesday night for dinner at 6pm and were seated immediately despite it being a group of 5. The place was not very large but relatively full, so be wary of coming later unless you're OK waiting. The restaurant had a bit of a rustic look but clean & well maintained, and nice local art posted on the walls. Staff were welcoming and friendly, and a lot of the food was sourced locally. We started with a sweet potato- goat cheese "guacamole" appetizer. I split the Jefe's Arroz Con Pollo and the Carne Con Ancho with my son. My girlfriend got the vegan rellenos. Food came out in maybe 20 minutes. The ACP was very good but unusual. It came with a thigh and leg of chicken on top, and a big mix of flavors of food underneath-- coconut rice, black beans, pineapple salsa. Curiously no cheese. Very different from any ACP I've ever had. Overall, it was fine-- honestly, my son and I both felt it was too many flavors that overwhelmed each other. In contrast, the Carne Con Ancho was spectacular. The steak bits were cooked rare to perfection and absolutely melt in your mouth. The flavors of the arepa below it as well as the horseradish and other components blended beautifully and made for a wonderful dish. My girlfriend said the rellenos were nicely fried and the sweet potato puree was excellent-- a very hearty dish without feeling heavy. And we all also really liked the guacamole appetizer-- unusual yet delicious flavor (and no avocado). Price was fair-- this was definitely upscale, so not "cheap", but fair for what we got. Overall, I'd happily come back, and definitely would want that Carne Con Ancho again. I recommend.
