Overall I'm pleased with but would suggest that Leisure Pro may or may not be a good fit for you depending on your purchasing circumstance. In sum: Pros - Value for the money (no one is cheaper, NO ONE) - Customer service is responsive but will move more slowly than mainstream online retailers. It is exclusively a family business and is completely closed Friday afternoon until Sunday due to religious observance. Cons - Don't order if your delivery date is time sensitive - UPS tracking unreliable - Very strict return policy (in store credit only). My Story Was looking to put some serious money down on a complete set of Hollis dive gear (BCD, reg., oct etc.), Suunto dive computer and was attracted by their mix and match bundle deals. I found an insane deal on a Holis HD-200 bundle. I live in NYC so visited the store and tried out everything in person. The staff was very helpful and offered an additional $200 discount without me even asking for it. I made the purchase in store but scheduled a delivery as most items came from a warehouse. The delivery was split into two packages. The first package arrived on time but the second was delivered to the wrong address (UPS fault, not Leisure Pro). I called Leisure Pro customer service and they helped fill out a missing package form and track the package down. The second package was delivered a week later. All equipment was new and in excellent condition. I've used the Hollis gear on 40+ dives all over the world and am very happy with the deal I got. I purchased over $200 worth of items including a flashlight. The LED flashlight used model #18650 Lithium Ion battery. I also ordered two backup Lithium Ion batteries (product specs gave no model #, just said Lithium Ion battery for LED Flashlight). The 2 backup batteries did not work. After calling Customer Service I learned these were not #18650 batteries - although website gave no model #. Customer Service would not work with me, so now I am now stuck with $40 worth of useless batteries. I tried to "Post a Review" for the batteries on Leisure Pro's website, warning future customers to check the model #. Interestingly, my comment was never posted. I will NOT use Leisure Pro in the future. read more

My wife and I recently got SCUBA certified. We'd heard about Leisure Pro and the good prices they have. Since we are both retired military, we also get an additional 6% off. We made our first order for some dive weights (36 pounds total). We were sent a UPS tracking number, and although I tried to track the items, the tracking number never worked. We subsequently received an E-mail saying the package had been delivered. We checked all around but did not find the package. I contacted Leisure Pro and they initially told me it would take 5-7 days to track the package. Later in the same conversation, he told me it would take 7-10 days. Unfortunately, this is a time-sensitive item we needed for planned dives. Today (3 days later), the box was finally delivered. Leisure Pro had packed all the weights into a regular box and taped it up. Needless to say, the box did not survive. Although we got most of the weights, some of them were understandably missing. I again contacted Leisure Pro to notify them we received most of the shipment, and instead of ordering the items right away, the customer service representative, who had such a strong accent I could hardly understand her, said she would submit a request to Leisure Pro which would take approximately two days before they would approve a reshipment of the missing weights. All-in-all, I hope this is not the norm from this company. We plan to order more items from them in the future. But as of right now, at the very least, their shipping and customer service departments leave something to be desired. read more

Up until recently I'd give 5 stars across the board, but this past month's service (Leisure Pro buying my used gear) has NOT been great. On 21 Mar 2018 I received an email indicating they would send a $400 check for the used gear I'd sent via UPS. Having received nothing by 1 Apr 2018, customer service subsequently informed me that the check was actually processed on 29 Mar 18 (the email I'd received was "computer generated.") By 16 Apr 2018, still having received nothing, I called and they then said a check was being re-sent via UPS, but they "had no tracking number." Basically, almost 30 days since being notified, they have my used gear and I still have no $400 check from them. I believe I've spent a couple thousand with them over the past year and have been happy with the service until now. Not sure what's going on there. UPDATE: One of the customer service people, Jazz E., did a good job working on this problem with Accounting. Should be getting the check via UPS within next 24 hrs. Jazz E. gets 5 stars. read more

Yelp does not let you down. Yelp never fails. This place deserves every bit of its super high rating. Sometimes in dive shops you can feel like you are being swindled. This is the exact opposite. These guys are here to help you get what you need at a good price. The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. They do not push expensive items on you, rather, they help you find the best fit for your needs and then deal with prices. I was shocked when it turned out the mask he had recommended was the cheapest of the bunch. Our salesman actually took money off our total and threw in a free mesh bag without us even asking. As a female and as someone who has been to stores like Adorama and B&H plenty of times, I've found that it pays to be an informed buyer. As a result, when I walked into Leisure Pro, I had a list of what I was looking for and had done enough research to know how things should fit. And armed with my list, I found the staff there (Charly specifically) to be incredibly helpful. I knew how much each item was supposed to cost. I know that the Aquamarine version of the mask I was looking for was on sale but that the other colors weren't. And where my research failed me (aquamarine was no longer in stock), Charly stepped in, steering me toward similar and sometimes better choices. Like when I asked him for a specific snorkel and instead of just ordering me that, he replied "If you're looking for a dry snorkel, I've got a better one that's $3 cheaper!" which sounded like music to my ears. I mean who knew that in this day and age, there was still such a thing as interactive and thoughtful customer service!!! Charly also helped me find fins that fit properly. I wear a women's size 8 and after several trials, we found the size 4 of the Cressi-Sub Pluma Full Foot Fins finally fit perfectly. He then put me through the paces trying on mask after mask until he finally nodded approvingly, indicating that one was the right size. All in all, it was a great experience. Charly had an idea of what I was looking to spend per each item and compared to some of the mask, snorkel, fin sets that are available online, I made my own kit for around the same price with pieces that are much higher quality. Looking back at their website, it seems they have a fair number of used items reasonably priced as well so I will most likely be back. read more

I literally walked by this place twice trying to find it. It's on the second floor right above Adorama the entrance to the elevator is to the right. I needed snorkeling gear for my trip and i didnt need anything fancy. At first walking in i was confused because everyone seemed busy and i couldnt ask anyone for help. I started trying on some gear and nothing was fitting right after 30 min I finally went up to the cashier area asking if ANYONE can help me. They informed me that if i couldnt find what i wanted out on the floor then i can browse on their computers to see all the products and when i see something i like just let them know and it will brought out. I wish i knew that earlier ! it was so much easier after that, service was quick and all my questions were answered. I have been diving since 2006 (500+dives). Folks at Leasure Pro have never been particularly nice or helpful. This is the reason I always went there for small things. Today, I went in there to buy a new BCD, fins and a wetsuit. After trying a couple of BCs and wetsuits, the guy helping me was clearly getting annoyed. I asked him to bring me a different wetsuit and he simply did not bring it. Then, the Leisure Pro's customer service hit a new low. I asked the same guy the price of the BCD and he said "I told you for the third time, it is $349.99". He said it in a way that most people would describe as an outright hostile tone. I called on Friday to make sure that a part I needed was in stock. The rep on the phone said that it was. I said that I would come pick it up on the weekend. The rep said "great, have a nice day." On Saturday I took an hour and a half trip into the city. Low and behold, Leisurepro is closed on Saturday. It would have been great if the person that I spoke with had told me this. I have to give this place a terrible review. From what I've been told they have a good selection of gear and good peices. However they have HORRIBLE customer service. I went to the store on a day that had holiday hour's and the recording said the store would close at 3, when I arrived at 1:00 the sales associates all rudely told me that the hours I was told were incorrect and they were closing at 1. I explained to them that I made the one and a half hour trip to get there for just a mask and fins they did not care and told me that I could come back two days later when they re open. They refused to send replacements and their return policy says everything must be in new condition and included in original package. Yeah that can happen, let me rip out the wires and solder them together. Who keeps all original packaging. Lost $400 to these scam artist. When it comes to Scuba gear, you won't find anywhere in the world with a better inventory and better prices than Leisure Pro. I am new to Scuba and I needed a reg\octo & computer. The prices at Leisure Pro were 100's less than my local dive shop. Being just a short scenic drive from NYC I decided to make the trek.. As others have mentioned the store closes early no Fridays and is closed on Saturdays due to religious reasons so check the hours before you go. Came here last week for fins and boots for diving. It was really crowded, probably because it was a Sunday and they are closed Saturday so this would be the only time people get to shop here on the weekend. My bf and I decided to go eat and come back a little later when they might be less busy. About an hour later we walked in and it was much less crowded. They have a vast array of equipment, and you can search their website right there in the store, tell them what you want, and they call it up from their inventory room. The gentleman helping my bf and I was very nice and made sure our equipment fit well. All in all, a good experience. I would recommend going there during the week if you are able. read more

Do not buy from this company. I purchased a new Cressi regulator ~$300 beginning of December, they send me a used one. On top of this, this regulator make unacceptable noise (unsafe) underwater during my 1st dive. I asked for a replacement and send it back based on their instruction. After 4 weeks of waiting, they send me back the same broken regulator -carefully processed by their sales rep DAVID RUBINSTEIN. Totally unacceptable..... Ben fitted me for a mask that was shaped to fit the size and shape of my face so that water would not get it and it would be comfortable dive. As someone new to diving I was depending on their promise to honor an exchange of the product I paid top dollar for has any issue which my mask kept consistently fogging during my dive. I called customer service many times and said I would get a call back yet they never seem to have time if the issue does not concern a sale let alone a return. read more

Bad Business as far as I am concerned. They have a picture of the wetsuit with the boots(all the others do not) which makes you believe that they come with it. When you get the wetsuit there is no boots and they just say sorry but no they don't come with it. That is false advertising as far as I am concerned. The worst experience I have ever made ordering online! And I will surely never order from this store again knowing that there are many other online stores available that actually do care about their customers. I just recently ordered a regulator color kit and I received my package as per shipment notification. To my surprise, I had to find half of the items belonging to the kit missing from the original manufacturers package. One item was even replaced with a piece not belonging to the kit, which indicates that LeisurePro realized that the package was not complete and tried to cover that by adding a different item. After sending an e-mail to customer service, I simply received a return label and a standard template reply for a request to return an item from Geka. In no way or form did I receive an actual, personalized, response to my request, nor an offer to simply send me the missing (and correct) items from my order. I am now bracing for a lengthy ordeal until I will receive a refund from this company. read more

They have a large selection of scuba diving equipment and gear which can range from inexpensive, yet good quality brands to expensive and high performing equipment. I recently purchased another mask and 1mm wetsuit and upon checking the price with other suppliers, Leisure Pro is definitely cheaper than the others. Not only were they honest about their prices, being a bit higher online than purchasing over the phone, but they have very good customer service. They are very patient when it comes to trying on a few pieces. I like Leisure Pro and I definitely recommend this to other divers. read more

BEWARE OF LEISUREPRO. I purchased a regulator from them thinking I had a lifetime manufacturer's warranty, which they advertise. Turns out that they are not an authorized dealer and the warranty won't honored by the manufacturer. Check with the manufacturer's website before purchasing from them. I also wrote a review on their website and mentioned the warranty issue. They conveniently edited that portion out. I believe this company to be shady at best, lacking integrity and ethics. read more

I've never set foot in the store, but have bought a few thousand dollars of dive gear, over about 20-25 orders in the span of the last three years. I won't get in to the whole LDS vs. online debate, but to those who use the tired old "It's all grey market stuff" argument, just take the time to check for yourself before repeating such nonsense. The VAST majority of items on LP's site carry a full manufacturer's warranty--something you'll never get with an unauthorized or "grey market" sale. LP is in fact an authorized dealer for almost all of what it sells and offers a better than manufacturer's warranty for the few brands it isn't. Ordering from them has always been reliable and easy. Shipments are always prompt, usually going out the same day. Returns are easy. I've only ever had one issue with a purchase: I ordered a medium-sized Mares travel bag ($150) and they sent me a large one ($200). I had preferred the smaller lighter one, since I was flying internationally and wanted as little bulk as possible, but since I was leaving in a few days I just used the larger one. Turns out it was for the better since I am able to use the larger bag when I dive local dive boats and carry a lot more gear than would have fit in the medium-sized bag. With unbeatable prices, no sales pressure or gimmicks--I've never once had to ask how much is this item for _me_ ? as I do in my local dive shops!-- and an amazing selection, LP is my primary source for my growing gear collection. read more

Very poor on-line customer service. Ordered high end scuba fins that were suppose to come with regular adjustable straps plus a set of spring straps. Fins showed up with spring straps already on the fins plus another set of spring straps. Had to go through two people on the phone before they understood why I wanted the non-spring straps as shown on the website photos. Despite this being their error, I had to pay to ship the extra spring straps back with insurance at my expense. We'll soon find out if they do the exchange properly. read more

We ordered a dive camera from Leisure Pro, they charged our credit card twice for the same camera....then we asked for a refund for the second camera which we did not order and did not receive, they initially refused. We have been arguing for our refund for 2 months and finally got a little over half of it back......they are a total rip off! I ordered a BC from them that did not function properly in a dive. I called in and talked to their customer service about this, and was told (by Shae)that it could be returned for another unit without a penalty. In dealing with the return, they provided some of the worst customer service ever. I got the new unit immediately, but their processing of the return took several days. When I called in to see why my return had not been processed (I tracked it through UPS) I was told they receive so many things that they would be a while in getting to it. Not only did they not follow through with what was promised in contacting Leisurepro on the return ( not being charged a restocking fee), but then they informed me that in contacting them with this problem they found an "error" in the return and would be charging me an additional amount (in the email to me they said they did not charge the correct amount in returning the items I was to be charged an additional amount) for the return. That seems punitive in my response to my attempt to resolve this problem. With he exception of my dealing with Customer Service (Cathy) in resolving this, I was exceptionally happy with dealing with leisure pro for the products. That is the reason for the two stars versus one. read more

So...... we made it to the store they had a huge selection for me to try! Unfortunately the one I wanted wasn't available in my size so they placed the order for me. Sellers of used SCUBA gear beware! Stay away. The ppl who answer the phone in customer service are very polite, but the used equipment section is like a car dealer. I am aware that some private sellers try to unload junk, but this company lowballs ppl wanting to sell high quality used equipment that is extremely well taken care of & serviced regularly at all mfr. suggested intervals. You are MUCH better off selling your gear on craigslist, Facebook, next-door or ppl you know locally who dive than to these greedy and unscrupulous shysters. I would never purchase anything, used OR new, from this store. The people in the used equipment section don't make the policies, they are just following guidelines set forth by the owners, so I'm not blaming them personally. This company advertises heavily online -that should've been my first clue that it's a bunch of total crap. LeisurePro is a great business and tends to either have the lowest price on Scuba gear or come close. An earlier reviewer mentioned that he had trouble getting a price match from LeisurePro, but I did manage to get one. Sammy is not excited and gung-ho to issue them, but he will if you can prove an exact price match You have to have the same SKU, the good must be new, not on Ebay, from an established seller, available to the public at large, published online, and include at least the exact same things that LeisurePro includes. Given that LP is generally within 5% of the rock bottom price anyways, this is tough to do. The best place to try and finagle a price match would probably be Northeast Dive Supply. Leisure Pro has a few gotchas, but they run an honest business. read more

My husband and I came here right before they were closing on Friday and we had a great experience. We were able to get what we needed in 20 minutes. Michael helped us. He was very informative and was not trying to push the most expensive option. We got snorkeling gear for our vacation and it was perfect. I would highly recommend purchasing your own stuff before a Caribbean vacation (for a few reason, but mostly bc I am not a fan of sharing saliva with strangers). I have been using Leisure Pro for 24 years and have always experienced the best prices and great service. My first order was placed over the phone, prior to the internet (when they used to have the big ad in the back of Skin Diver), it was Sherwood Source dive computer and then as now, they offered the best price. I have ordered just about anything you think of, computers, regs, bcd, fins, sunglasses, booties, gloves. Each order is delivered timely and on the few occasions I have had to call because I ordered the wrong size, they have honored their right fit guarantee. I ordered a mask and snorkel from leisure pro, and wanted to return the snorkel because my mask's seal kept breaking, after a few times of adjusting and readjusting the snorkel it was no use. The impulse 3 and my mask wasn't a good match. I called the customer service and had a ruff experience, but after speaking through email with an awesome representative, everything got squared away.
