It's a scam. I would give this a zero review. I ordered a wetsuit by going through their size guide. It turned out way too small for the advertised size. Also, inferior quality to what is advertised. There was no original packaging. The packaging was damaged, and the item was already opened and just put in a large plastic bag and taped incoherently. Additionally, they charge for shipping both ways, ~$10 for shipping to you, ~$10 for returning. It's basically a scam because they know you are definitely going to return. It was expensive, but I needed that exact weight. UPS delivered a box to my house that was completely empty (had a hole in it). The weight had clearly burst out of the side of the box in transport. One could point the finger at Amazon's packaging, UPS' handling, whatever- things happen. It has been numerous weeks of me calling, emailing, talking to Amazon. Every time, Leisure Pro asks me for pictures. I send them, they say they'll get back to me. A few days pass, I reach out and ask what the hold up is, and they say "Oh, sorry about your experience, send us some pictures". Endless, frustrating loop. Next time I'll just tie a rock to my belt. I took my regulator to get serviced (1 year old and only around 20 dives) and told them I heard a slight squeak at the end of taking a deep breath. They took it in and after waiting a full month I emailed to inquire and it was ready (a bit longer than I expected without hearing anything, but I wasn't in a rush). I was told they recommended a full overhaul ($200). When I asked why they said, "I don't know" let me ask the tech. The tech came back saying that he recommended a full overhaul, when I asked why again he said, "I don't know. We'll have to see". I contacted the original seller and copy pasted Scuba.com's email responses to them and they told me, "They clearly don't know what is going on. They are not known for good equipment servicing." When I went to the store to pick it up, the customer rep told me that they recommended a full overhaul. I told him that I wasn't really explained why, so I didn't get a lot of confidence, but if he could tell me then I'd be happy to leave it. He answered, "I don't know". He also said that they adjusted PRI and when I asked what that was he answered...."I don't know.". So I told him, "Look, I know none of this is your fault and you are just handing me the regulator right now, but if I can give you all some feedback it's that the customer service as a whole has been really bad, no explanations, and clearly other companies are starting to notice that as well." He literally just shrugged, looked at me, as said, "OK....whatever. People have been coming here for years, so whatever feedback you give doesn't really matter." ...wow! read more

I bought a $499 BC from them online. They refuse to honor their store policy for an used item. I returned the item to them after 1 use because it didn't perform like I wanted. Their policy says they don't give refund back to my card but give a FULL store credit. This was fine with me. However, after they received the item. Their returns department saw a salt stain on the used item and declared it HEAVILY used and said they can only refund me $425 in credit instead of $499. WOW my bad for not scrubbing all the salt off but to say the item is now no longer like-new because it's dirty? The salt stain isn't permanent, I just did not wash it off well so it's still like-new. Plus, how do you expect a used item to not have ANY salt on it and use that as a reason to rip someone off of $75? Regardless, their return policy never says they'll only give you partial store credit based on how clean the item is, it says full credit! I am now doing a chargeback dispute with my credit card and it's a nightmare! I don't recommend you do business with this company. This is one of the best dive shops in NYC, which says a lot, in my opinion (I've been diving for more than 30 yrs). The shop does not have a whole lot of stuff on display, and because of that you'll be better off if you did your homework and looked at their website before going to the shop directly. Once in the shop, however, the staff is friendly and very knowledgeable, and they will get what you want to see/try in no time. I have been shopping at Leisure Pro for years. They're primarily known as an online store, but I have had the pleasure of visiting in person on a number of occasions. I have gotten to know Ben Teichberg, the manager, over the years. He's a very nice guy who gives excellent advice. The most telling thing is that Ben never recommends the most expensive gear when you ask for a suggestion. The service is very good in the store- not pushy at all. I ordered a pair of glue in reading lenses online. I have a mask with a Rx in it and the lenses don't work. This wasn't specified on the website. Even though I tried to install the lenses, Leisure Pro gave me a refund. I'm glad that they have become authorized dealers for many of the brands that they sell over the years. We have been shopping at and ordering from Leisure Pro for 20 years. They carry top quality brands and anything we have ever wanted or needed is on the website. They are also incredibly helpful with advice and suggestions about alternatives to pricey equipment. Example: suggested an $80 case for my soon-to-be-replaced iPhone instead of a $600 underwater camera. Works great by the way! They had a $30 lens in stock in my prescription to pop in a new two lens mask, ($40) when my $350 prescription mask was shattered. I may be off on the prices but I do remember the whole deal was less than $100. Their service of regulators is maybe the best offering. Shockingly bad customer service. I would never in a thousand years order from them again if this is how they choose to treat their customers. I ordered a pair of scuba gloves almost two weeks ago. The day after I ordered them, I received a shipping confirmation email, but the tracking number I was given said that there was no tracking information available. I emailed customer service, and received a reply from 'Greg', who asked me to wait until the delivery window of 3-5 business days was up, at which point if they had still not arrived he would issue a refund or replacement. Well, 6 business days later I still didn't have my gloves, and there was still no tracking information available. I emailed customer service again requesting a refund, and received a reply from 'Shae', who told me that (based on tracking information she declined to share with me) they should arrive within 1-2 more days. I asked them what they were basing that on, and whether they intended to honor their guarantee of a refund. The next reply, from 'Greg' again, told me that, in fact, my gloves had been delivered! Unsurprisingly, he was full of it, and they hadn't been. I've emailed them back for a THIRD time now asking for a refund, but if their track record holds up I expect them to just keep screwing me around and lying to me. I can't believe this place exists. It's a scuba shop on the 3rd floor of the Adorama camera store. It has a variety of scuba and snorkel gear. We asked for help because we didn't really know where to start in purchasing snorkel gear for our upcoming Hawaii trip. The staff member was super helpful. He showed us a few different masks and let us try them on. In terms of the snorkels themselves he recommended "dry" ones for us because we were novice snorkelers (great idea because it keeps the water out and keeps you from choking!). He also showed us fins, and I'm so glad we came to the store because the full size fins are so long that they wouldn't have fit in our suitcase. We bought 1/2 fins which were perfect for our trip. Prices were reasonable, and the gear worked well. The only thing that was annoying was that our masks still fogged a bit even after we used the toothpaste trick to try to remove the protective film on them (which the staff member who helped us told us about). read more
