Unfortunately, I hadn't been diving in 30 years! I called the folks at Scuba Network and everyone I engaged with was extremely accommodating. They helped me sign up for an eLearning refresher course and encouraged me to grab the last spot in an upcoming beginner's, in-person, 2-day pool dive to reacquaint myself with the gear and familiarize myself with some new technology since I last dove (goodbye dive tables, hello dive computers!). They equipped me with all the regular gear and even helped me pick out a scuba mask with reading bifocals when I told them after the first day that I couldn't read my gauges. (Yes, bifocal masks are a thing!) Ryan Hoffman, my dive instructor, was fantastic. He was patient, easy-to-understand, thorough, and kept things moving well. He also didn't miss a thing. If someone seemed nervous during an underwater exercise, he was right there to put them at ease and help them master it. If someone didn't clear their mask of water fully, he had them try again until they crushed it. At every step he was enabling us to know how to do for ourselves because in Scuba, though it's a buddy sport, you don't want to leave the details to anyone else -- you're safest when you are self-sufficient. Within days, I felt as confident about scuba diving as I did 30 years ago when I got certified -- no, actually, I felt more confident! I can't wait to get back in the open water now, and I'm even considering getting my kids to take up this past time so we can go as a family. If so, I'll take them to Scuba Network to learn!

I used their live chat and was first connected to a bot, then quickly transferred to a real person who answered my questions clearly and confirmed details about shipping and availability. The interaction felt helpful and focused on resolving my concerns, not just giving generic replies. I also contacted customer service via email regarding delivery timing and the inspection window. Also, inferior quality to what is advertised. There was no original packaging. The packaging was damaged, and the item was already opened and just put in a large plastic bag and taped incoherently. Additionally, they charge for shipping both ways, ~$10 for shipping to you, ~$10 for returning. It's basically a scam because they know you are definitely going to return. The buyer gets nothing but loses $20 on a $30 item for shipping from NYC to LI. I read other reviews on the same product, and everyone had the same experience (I wish I had paid more attention). They may be recycling the same item again and again. And it's no surprise that they have not posted my review for this product on their website Very disappointed. Never coming back.

He meticulously taught the classroom material and pool sessions for my daughters and husband. I felt completely comfortable with their knowledge heading into the open water portion of the training. The best part was that we went on an Oceanblue trip to Cozumel on the girls' 13th birthday to complete their certification with Michael. I couldn't be more proud watching my girls, so comfortable underwater. Its a testament to Michael's comprehensive training. The trip was well organized and didn't require hours of my own work to set up boats and gear. Everything was arranged for us. Oceanblue offers the most you could ever want from a dive club. We often put together trips ourselves, but for Australia/New Zealand we needed an expert in the area to help us. We started by first looking at some tour companies. (My cousins used one to go to the same destination.) But none had some of the things we wanted, and I needed a few accommodations. I found three firms online that specialized in this area and that drew my interest. I emailed asking for quotes. Two called and I spoke to the agents, outlining my requests. The Aspire agent responded to a query from my husband on Zicasso. And I let her know (via email and then on the phone) what we needed. She listened to me and provided a quote with items and times that I had requested at a reasonable price. So she was our top pick, and we began to work together to cull the best items for the trip. We never paid a fee until we were ready to book the tour. I worked with Sharon T. And she was amazing. We got the cities we wanted, in the order we wanted, and with a few special accommodations. (For example: With a recent knee surgery, I couldn't climb the 300 steps at the Sydney Opera House, so she booked us an accessible tour. I sometimes have tummy trouble early in the mornings, so mostly I wanted tours that started at 10 am or later. I did have to give in to early times in a few instances, because they were not avoidable. I even had a specific order to the cities we visited, because I wanted to end the trip in Auckland, New Zealand, where we planned to meet with a friend we hadn't seen in more than 30 years.) Suffice it to say that Sharon and I exchanged tons [hundreds? :-)] of emails from May through the end of the trip in October. I even emailed her at least three or four times while on the 19-day trip, and I always got an immediate response (if the timing was right with the 15-17 hour difference). As a former assistant travel editor for a major daily newspaper, I may be more particular than most people and harder to please. Aspire (Sharon) was patient, detailed, and offered stellar service. P.S. The VAMOOS app was incredible. It provided every detail at our fingertips for the entire trip, along with reminders.

Everything was simply fabulous during the entire trip, and we could not have had a better experience in the communication/planning phase. The itinerary included a great mixture of geographical areas, culture and wildlife. All of the accommodations fit my request of no large hotel chains, and a preference for local small boutique hotels. Not only were the hotels a good match for us, but all were in the perfect location for our planned activities. Every private and small group tour that they arranged for us in fit our interests and pace of travel, and greatly enhanced our experiences in each of the different areas we visited. This travel group obviously has vetted the best local tour providers and transfer services, because all but one or two superbly delivered on all that was promised. Shelley promptly followed up with those two that did not meet our expectations and I know they want and expect the best for their travelers. We also had local contact information if any problems arose during the trip, and we got prompt assistance each of the two times we contacted them. Overall, everything met and exceeded our expectations and we definitely recommend Aspire Down Under and feel that they deserve more than five stars.

CD Global has been around for many years but we finally decided on a cruise trip…read more Even with the advent of online booking, there is always a need for a personal touch with a travel agent. I know this sounds very backwards but in essence, it is crucial to be able to receive information as it relates to individual specific needs. Some may argue that the cruise company can provide the information, but they are also very general in what they provide. They may not tailor to specific needs because everyone's itinerary will vary. Online and web booking is definitely convenient and some may assume it is cheaper (it cuts out the need for an agent's commission/fees/overhead). However, in our experience, when we searched online - the pricing came out to be same, and the agent actually offered a little more than the website did. So there you go. BJs and other third-party sites may have also offered some incentives, but after doing the math, it also came out to be the same or slightly under, but the agent won on the side of the offers. And because we used a credit card, we received the cash back/points that way. Also, if the prices for both agent and website came out to be the same, I would rather go to a live person to help with the booking because 1) they have more experience and can help with the efficiencies and details 2) we can always refer back to them with questions 3) they also provide first-hand knowledge as they help set up your itinerary or overall plans. The pros can go on and on. I am actually an avid planner myself in many instances, but to have someone be of assistance in this capacity was pretty amazing! And to even think this service still exists with so many third-party apps out there to help with any types of bookings - it is incredible! David and the team did an impeccable job. We had a group booking so instead of me working on the plans for the entire group, David and the team facilitated nearly every step of the process. It was a huge plus that they were able to follow up to make sure the check in and all the bases were covered (which are the usual responsibilities that I am tasked with...) Now is that a fine deal or what! The stress has been diminished to almost nothing (ok, maybe except for the packing part, but that's not part of the agent's offers!) Again, the personal effect in working with a person who manages so many of the endless details, is ultimately priceless. Plus I will be honest - I am not the easiest to work with - being a planner myself, I know the ins and outs of what it takes to make sure all i's are dotted and t's are crossed. There is just so much to go into and be on top of - and for David to be able to measure up to all these expectations and answer nearly all my inquiries, it is quite impressive! And for me to never step foot into their office to accomplish all of this - is yet another extraordinary accomplishment in this "journey" of planning. I agree with all the reviewers on this, they are all on point. Also this company provides a huge array of vacation opportunities, I have only begun to look at. But the idea that they are able to even offer what I need (without having to search on the internet), saves a lot of time. I provide dates and a few other basic information and David delivers nearly every time. On top of that, he includes vital information that is helpful in making appropriate decisions. Ultimately, the most important results from all this was that our trip turned out be super fun. Excited to share some of the photos from the vacation! Thank you David and to your entire team for the extensive work and service, professionalism, and invaluable information!

Dayyan took the time to listen to our goals and paired us with Rob Neville as captain. Rob was the ideal captain for us- he taught us how to sail in minimal time, and within a couple of days we were handling the sailboat under his watchful eye. All our meals were so tasty, and often more elaborate than one would expect could be prepared in a tiny sailboat galley! Additionally- Rob was an excellent tour guide, and we loved our stay in The BVI. Rob was often more like an entertainment director on a cruise ship, and he spent many hours with our teenage sons- playing coconut rugby on the beach, doing science experiments, fishing, bouldering or whatever they wanted to do. We found calm protected anchorages each night, despite being very busy sailing season. I cannot possibly recommend Sailing Collective more for a once in a lifetime experience.

So I booked my trip and traveled with the Sailing Collective to Thailand in Dec 2015. It was the most unique and beautiful trip I've ever taken and I highly recommend it. Why I loved it: 1) THE SPOTS WE VISITED: Dayyan has an uncanny ability to sniff out all the best local spots. I was continuously amazed at his ability to find where the local fisherman ate, the best secluded beaches, and the most picturesque places to dock. Additionally, our itinerary would have been impossible without the sailboat and I enjoyed having such a different way of weaving through the islands then most of my friends who have visited Thailand. 2) THE CHEF: It was incredible to have a private chef aboard who drew upon local ingredients to create healthy and delicious meals and snacks. Ana was a wizard in the kitchen, turning out unique and visually stunning meals for a group of 10, out of a tiny sailboat kitchen. 3) THE SAILING: I loved that Captain Ross invited us to learn as little or as much about sailing as we wanted during the trip. One afternoon he took time to walk a small group through the basics of sailing and we were able to get hands on with steering, ropes etc. But if you didn't want to you were equally welcome to take a snooze in your cabin or on deck. 4) CUSTOMIZE-ABLE: I appreciated how flexible and responsive the captains were to our needs. They often gave us options about routes, beaches, meals etc. While we typically had group dinners or excursions planned at least once a day it was 100% up to you if you wanted to go out on your own or opt into group plans. The list of reasons why I love this company goes on and on. I recommend any traveler give Sailing Collective a try!

All i need to do is show up at the airport with passport and carry-on in hand, and board my flight. The only left to do is sit back and enjoy the 35K feet inflight movie. (ahh). I safely can say that I feel that this travel agency really gets what people want. Needless to say, they also provide feedback (e.g., suggestions to where to travel too that won't include a hurricane) The suggestion was Curacao and this is the place where I am booked at http://www.sunscaperesorts.com/curacao/ . The fee for the AI (All Inclusive), round trip airfare, transfers to and from and vice-a-versa, meals and snacks, premium alcoholic beverages, and a stunning room with an ocean view for TWO all under the price of $2400.00. REALLY! I (HEART) Last Moment Discount Travel Club.

I am an experienced scuba diver and wanted to get my 10 year old certified. I signed her up for the…read moreconfined water classes offered by Adventure scuba and had a wonderful experience. Tom, the instructor was incredibly nice, capable, competent, and patient. The classes are very intimate with only four students. The proximity of the pool to the dive shop is literally across the street. We had amazing experience with my daughter learning all the skills in a very short period of time. I will follow up on this post as we were going for the open water dives next week. Thanks again to all the people adventure scuba. You all did a great job and we had a great time. **** Ok - following up on the above, great news. She passed her open water check outs with flying colors in the Caymans. The instructors thought she was perfectly prepared and will be a safe and capable diver. Thanks again to the Adventure Scuba team for solid work!!

I went through the certification process elsewhere despite trauma I had to undo from Adventure Scuba. I tried twice to go to Adventure Scuba--big mistake. I arrived excited and ready, but left with an intense anxiety of scuba diving because of the comments the instructors made combined with their lack of support. The instructors boast having years of instructing experience, but had zero helpful advice while I had difficulty breathing except: "collect yourself" "what's going on with you?", "you need to relax and pretend your in the spa", all of which was monumentally unhelpful to hear as my body quickly spiraled to a panic. The worst was the female instructor. Hyper condescending. She was visibly irritated by my anxiety (I was astonished that my trouble breathing was a nuisance to both of instructors). The unfortunate part is that when I first conveyed I was having difficulty breathing, I didn't feel ANY fear initially, I simply tried to explain I was experiencing trouble breathing, and to ask questions, but I was quickly dismissed and told to "make up my mind if this is something I want to do." These comments quickly fueled a feeling of intense panic when I received NO answers to my questions and reattempted to submerge myself only for the cycle to repeat and lead several times to the same outcome of not being able to breath well. Repeating this several times rendered me freaked out, confused, and exasperated. I don't remember her name (but to be fair she kept calling me the wrong name which also contributed to my confusion). The male instructor accused me of not listening to him (although I proceeded to repeat everything he had just said, so no idea why he made that assumption). The bright side is, I have since been to two different dive sites (one to complete certification the other just to dive for fun) and they both were vastly different experiences from Adventure Scuba. Surprisingly, there was no insults or condescending statements, no visible impatience, no accusations. Only support, encouragement, instruction, and understanding which is not a lot to ask. I learned that the difficulty breathing wasn't in my head or something wrong with me, but breathing (unlike i was told at Adventure Scuba) does feel different under water and shouldn't be rushed. Now that's good instruction! The absolute worse part was I probably was in the pool both times for five minutes each and they happily kept the money despite lack of instruction. ASTONISHINGLY wrong. So I write this review and also let fellow divers know: please avoid this place. Ultimately, I'm glad I didn't give up despite this truly unpleasant experiences of my life. I would say its an ok place if you've already been diving a few times before, but definitely not if you expect to be supported, not rushed, and respected when you voice you can't breath or want to ask questions. I would definitely caution against spending hundreds of your dollars for that kind of treatment trust me other places are able to train without that nonsense. My sister did it with me she completed with Adventure Scuba, but fully agreed that the experience was lacking due to the treatment and how rushed the class felt. My feedback would be if someone isn't relaxed-- don't fuel the apprehension, it's NOT helpful.
