When your 8 year old with naturally black hair begs you for 365 days straight to have the tips of her hair turned blue you eventually get worn down and agree to it. Scream and specifically Sage saved the day. We had a wonderful experience and I don't know how they got my daughter to sit still for 3 hours but the color looks amazing and the experience was even better. Sage was so accommodating by letting me sit with my daughter during the process and walking us through all the ways to protect the color and her natural hair once the the process was completed. Thank you Sage!

We just happened to walk by Scream as we were going to eat dinner. My boyfriend needed a haircut badly. Other places could never get it right... he's rather picky about his haircut. We dropped in and they take walk ins, so the owner took him to her station. Super nice lady... real and personable. SOMEONE FINALLY GOT HIS HAIRCUT RIGHT. No joke... he has been looking for so long for a place to cut his hair correctly and he found it here. It was $37 to get his eyebrows waxed and his hair cut which is not bad at all. I am considering going here for my haircut as well. :)

I am thankful this salon exists. Walking in I felt confident the stylists would cut my hair well and not judge me for having hot pink hair! I came here looking for a stylist that could give me the pixie cut suited for me. I had an idea in mind but I wanted the stylist to not just duplicate the image but to make it work for me. Jade listened and because she gave me what I wanted I left the salon feeling confident. Secondly my husband came along to get his hair cut. He wears his hair in a pho hawk and often struggles to find a stylist that'll cut the sides the right length and fade into the top. It isn't just hair gel, the cut has to be right. His stylist did a great job as well. I'm certain we found out new salon.

worst dye job I've ever gotten

I came here for a balyage from Jordi and had an extremely bad experience. Instead of a seamless transition into blonde, my hair looked like a colorblock of black and blonde. I even came back to try and fix it (I am extremely non confrontational and this is the first time I've ever done something like this) and she spent another 2 hours trying to soften it up but it felt unsalvageable. I had friends ask me if my roots grew out it was horrible. I kept the hair for 4 months before I decided to just chop it all of and start anew. I would expect this from an extremely low end salon but I ended up paying almost $300 for this botched dye job.

Let me preface this by saying that I've had several decent experiences with Scream before - nothing amazing, but certainly nothing this bad. Today I walked in around 4:45 to see if they had time for a buzz. A female hairdresser with dreads said she did, but she had an appointment after me so she'd "hurry". If I'd know then that by "hurry" she meant "roughly shave me, giving me razor burn and cutting my scalp"...I would have passed! The whole ordeal took maybe 3-4 minutes - she was, as I said, very rough with the clippers and she didn't do a very thorough job trimming around ears, back of the neck, etc. My scalp wound is minor, so I didn't realize until I was already out of the salon and headed home that I was bleeding. Needless to say I will NOT be going back. As someone who has a super low-maintenance style, I'm seriously disappointed that Scream couldn't even manage to buzz my back and sides without bloodying my scalp.

Thanks Nigel! Went from brown then added blonde. Lots of it.

On average, how much does synthetic dread installation cost on long hair?

I've spent over a $1K so far, most of the dreads were done with my own hair, but I had some dreads weaved in and that was about $200

I didn't receive an email or phone cancelation either. I confirmed my appointment in the email as well. My advice, if you can't show up, call me or email me. Also, it's especially not cool when it's a hair donation for a kid. I understand life happens, but I drove 1 hr for this. The least you can do is inform me of a cancelation. Also, just to add, I was also getting charged for the cut too. So the stylist was suppose to get paid/tipped.

I had not known that otherwise I would have rejected the appointment. My hair lifts easily, and Haley noted that. Despite that, she used too strong a developer and damaged my hair beyond belief. Not only that. She missed half of my head with toner. She noticed. And didn't tell me. She let me leave the salon with half of my head not toned. It's very noticeable from the back. I didn't see it at the appointment because she didn't show me the back - and now I know why. That's the worst of it, but she also didn't rinse my hair properly, so I still had product dried up and crusty in my hair. And she barely used any product while she blew out my hair on the highest heat, burning my scalp a couple of times and damaging my hair even more. And it was still a bit wet by the time I left. I'm usually pretty relaxed, so I didn't complain until after I went home and noticed that my head wasn't properly toned (which is also not that hard to do, I've done it myself during covid lockdowns - so it really is incredible that she messed up this bad and didn't say anything, hoping I wouldn't notice). Nothing about my experience with Haley was positive. Her work was incredibly sloppy, negligent, and dishonest. Edited to add (in response to Howie, the owner): You know the issue isn't with the toner itself - I did not see that she didn't do the back otherwise I obviously wouldn't have been "pleased". Again, you know this. I have a photo attached. You see how bad it is. I don't know why you're trying to act like that quality of service is okay. I didn't realize Red Chair's standards were so low, and I regret that I gave you all a shot :/ Also, I have to spend the holidays looking like this. So thanks for that.

I also appreciate that she held off on cutting too much off on layers at first, then let me decide if I wanted to take more off later. She is a stylist that I truly trust. Also, I asked her SO many questions about curly hair, products, my hair type etc. and she was very helpful and had great recommendations. As far as this service, it is so worth it and feels luxurious. Especially if you are new to curly hair, don't know how to style it, or have never had a curly cut before (this was my first one). You start with cutting your hair (dry of course), then washing, treatment, wet styling, diffusing, and then additional cutting as needed once it's dry and styled and you can see how everything lays. It was so relaxing to sit under the bowl diffuser (they give you free beverages too), and she walks you through exactly how she's wet styling your hair as you go.
