This place is incredible. We just moved into the neighborhood and have been wanting to try it since we started seeing signs around. Well it did not disappoint one bit. A burger craving got me there last night and the wonderful staff and amazing food will keep me coming back. Steak burger and tots with orange blossom beer was fantastic. Don't bother. Burgers were very over cooked. Almost tasted like they had been cooked earlier then reheated. It was not busy (maybe 4 tables) and tables around us sat with dirty dishes on them for our entire meal. They ran out of fries, then waffle fries. Server suggested tater tots, when they came to the table, they were cold. The one saving grace was that when we told the server about the over done burgers, she took them off the bill. My wife and I were very disappointed in the food based upon the reviews. I had a French dip sandwich. The brisket looked liked chopped hamburger The jalapenos were so hot that is all I could taste. The au jus was tasteless. It looked like brown water. My wife had a tuna melt It was marginally okay. The onion rings were good as were the waffle fries. The service was excellent. Been here three times now. First time, no issue, my friend and I sat at bar. No issues, fast courteous service from the bartender, but we were hard to ignore being 2 of the 4 people sitting in there. Second time, stood in reception area being ignored. It was not busy at all. I left after 5 minutes. Third time, again not busy. Stood in reception area until I yelled out across the bar to three employees that were standing around talking to each other. Then got told we could not eat because we did not have reservation for the Buffett. I get it, but not really. Do something to make happy at least. I work in the service industry, so does my adult son. We talk to 50-100 people a day. I really hope the owners or management (If it exists) read this. You really need to read a book or take a class on customer service. It does not exist in your building. read more

I love having a restaurant in my neighborhood. We always sit outside where the view is of the golf course and water. Sometimes they have live music which has always been good. Very kid friendly with a large connect 4 games to play and grass area where my kids run around with other kids. Food is good. read more

IT'S NOT THEM, IT'S ME. First let me say the burgers here are great. But my last two visits to Scratch I've noted: 1. A sign on the wall inviting me to leave if I don't share the establishment's narrow view of patriotism, support for law enforcement, or religious beliefs. 2. A roach scurrying across the bar top. 3. Obnoxious, loud, intoxicated patrons who weren't inclined to social distance during the current health crisis, therefore putting other customers at risk. As a liberal gay female living in conservative East Mesa, it's probably my own fault for expecting something more out of a restaurant operating in the community in which I reside. I love this place!! Best staff ever(: The scratch team always does anything they can to make sure everyone is taken care of, even the cute kiddos that play outside and run around! They even fill up my water bottle for me before i go out on the course to help me beat the heat! The patio is amazing and great for kids, but overall that's the only reason we come here. The service is always slow and they are not very friendly. The kids mac and cheese always come out cold or luke warm. It's so hard to find a place that has everything you want... a safe and fun place for a family to bring their kids of all ages, great food, and most importantly good service!! Love this place! Cold beer, delicious burgers (made with smoked flank steak!), wraps, sliders, mac & cheese...it's all good. Service is quick, friendly and attentive. I absolutely love this place! I've been going to scratch faithfully for about a year now! The only complaint I have is there isn't enough time in a day to hang out with the fun staff, enjoy the delicious food and admire the views they offer from the patio (not just talking about the staff but the green grass and lake view too). I love to bring my kids here because there is so much to do for them. They even refill my children's hydro flasks when they run out of water!! 10/10 Recommend! Definitely try the sliders and turkey melt when you go!! read more

I came to Scratch tonight for some good chicken tenders. The service was slow, especially for the place being not that crowded. Their menu says that the order of chicken tenders comes with 4, but when food got to the table there was only three. When I asked the waitress, the only response after asking the chef was that the meal only comes with 3. I'm disappointed that the response was we only give thee when the menu says four. The restaurant was also out of bacon. Overall the food was good, there was just poor customer service. read more

Communication goes a long way as does customer service. I understand finding a reliable employee these days is few and far between, but as a manager your expectations of your employees should be paramount for a successful business. My family went to Scratch last night and it was my very first time going and probably my last. The fact our order was messed up more times than I can count is beside the point...what really stood out to me was the amount of disrespect and inconsiderate behavior from the manager. Not one time did we get an apology for the lack of service and poor communication. Instead, we were treated with nothing but disrespect which would have been warranted if we were disrespectful to our server and it was the complete opposite. I've worked at a restaurant and customer service was our number one priority. Whether you as a manager feels your employee was in the wrong or not, you always ensure the customer is satisfied. Receiving a free meal wasn't even something we were expecting; however, sincerity for the absolute worst experience would have been appreciated. read more

I am an organizer of a women's group, and we play at Augusta Ranch Golf Course often and stay for lunch/dinner. Five ladies stopped by yesterday for lunch and I had a horrible experience with the one of the waitress over the entree pricing, which had changed recently. Since I am a regular customer, I ordered what I typically order and expected the previous pricing. Rather than explaining the price increase, she just gave me some serious attitude. She revised my bill and then basically threw the silver tray bill towards me. One of my friends just looked at the waitress with an incredulous look. When the waitress came back for signatures, she again slid down the silver tray (bill) toward all of the ladies rather than kindly going around, delivering it to each of us (remember, with Covid-19 all of us are social distancing around a BIG table). I called to speak to the manager Kim and she was good about listening to the incident. One extra yelp star for Kim. I probably will not stop by for another meal after my round. Too bad because it's a nice patio and we always enjoyed the 19th hole here with drinks and a nice meal. Along with a very poor health rating and lack of restaurant staff training, this place may not be for you. read more

We live in the Augusta Ranch community and have hoped this new restaurant would be our new go-to. However, we will never eat there again! Last night 03/04/2019 we sat down at 5 P.M. and did not get our order until 6:25 P.M. When we did get it the hamburger was like a burnt hockey puck! Interesting because they have a "Hamburger Night" on Thursdays. The waitress was apologetic but it wasn't her fault.
