I was excited to find a diner near my location, unfortunately Metro Diner didn't quite live up to…read morewhat I expect from a diner. Overall, I'd describe the experience as okay. The food was hit or miss, with the chicken noodle soup being the highlight and easily the best thing I had. The fried chicken tenders, on the other hand, were disappointing. They were dry and lacked the crispy, flavorful batter and overall "fry factor" I expect from good chicken tenders. The service was also subpar. Our server (Amber C) seemed more interested in sitting in a booth with a male patron than making sure her guests were taken care of. There were missed opportunities to check back or see if we needed anything and, as a result, the restaurant missed out on an additional $16 in sales -- along with what would have been a generous tip. We didn't order a beverage because we thought the prices were simply too high. As for the atmosphere, there really wasn't anything particularly memorable about it. We were hoping to find that classic, welcoming diner experience, but unfortunately, this just didn't leave much of an impression. It's not a terrible place, but based on this visit, I'm not rushing back.

At around 11:00 am, I walked over and grabbed a seat at the bar, because all of the other tables and booths were filled with happy diners. On one side of the menu you have your breakfast, and the other has everything you'd want for lunch. I started with my usual cup of coffee, and then opted for the two eggs, toast and bacon. For a place that was packed, my food didn't take very long to come out. Everything was delicious, and I especially loved that they had an option for marble rye toast. Sally, my waitress, was the sweetest. She took great care of me and made sure my first time here was perfect!! I also loved their hanging lights and sweet Valentines decor, which was a nice touch. I will certainly be back, and hats off again to you Sally!!

Then another worker tries to hand my food to a different vehicle as he had not read the vehicle info on the receipt. When I get home I guess same employee packed my bag as the gravy that I ordered was not packed. The stop and check on the receipt was not performed either or maybe they would have realized all the things on the order was not in the bag. Now I have been on hold for 10 minutes trying to get this resolved and then they hung up on me.
