The best chicken salad sandwich I've ever had, so glad I listened to another customer suggest it. Delicious coffee and you have to try the special berry iced tea. Employees are super friendly and quick. Fun place to hangout too. Charming interior.

What a sweet little place this is!! I wanted a bit of breakfast today with my husband after we dropped his car off for some repairs. Bud's was close by and had good reviews. It felt like a breakfast "Cheers" where everyone knows your name. We had never been there before but it felt like we were meeting old friends. Jim (part owner with wife Anne) happened to be in town and it was such a delight to learn the history of Bud's. Bud was Anne's father and a giving/caring community member before his death. Jim told me about how careful he was in getting just the right coffee and from whom. That man was in Asheville and worked with small growers in several counties. HH loved his coffee! The bagels are brought in from the best traditional bagel chef in New York! Due to his job in New York Jim is back & forth from New York. I loved to learn that he was a trumpet musician and he has played with our local orchestras as well as New York venues. HH (hungry hubby) and I were delighted with our mini quiches and the spinach /feta pastry was so yummy we had to order more!

This small coffee shop opened in the Food City shopping center in Oak Ridge. I stopped in today for a latte just to give it a try. Wow. This is very good coffee. I only do unflavored drinks -- either espresso or coffee. Based on the taste, I can tell they are using some good beans and it is nicely roasted. I'd put the drink up there as top notch. Much better than Starbucks and as good (or maybe even better) than places like Honeybee Coffee. Other than coffee, they seem to have a big selection of pastries, gluten-free items, chia pudding, and food. All looked very appetizing. I hope Buds sticks around. It's nice to have a quality coffee shop in Oak Ridge. I'll definitely be back!

Oak Ridge sorely needed a sit down, mom and pop coffee shop. Bud's opened during COVID and was welcomed to town with a warm, caffeinated embrace! The interior is homey and inviting with a farmhouse motif. Service is very friendly and fast. They even did coffee art on our lattes. My husband and I ordered lattes (me-regular, him-caramel) and breakfast sandwiches. You have an option of what goes on the sandwich, but not the type of bread. If I had one suggestion, it would be to offer the croissants they sell as a sandwich option. Instead, it seems to be a toasted, flattened bun, which I've never encountered on a breakfast sandwich. A pleasant surprise was the unique, in-house sauce they put on the sandwiches. Everyone seemed to be inquiring about it. It tastes like a sweetened mixture of a smoky ketchup or BBQ sauce and is really tasty with breakfast goodies. The coffee was wonderful. It wasn't bitter or burnt like some coffee spots. It was incredibly smooth and had some of the thickest milk foam I've had in awhile. They clearly use whole milk. The cherry on top of this experience was speaking with one of the owners, Jim. He was funny, kind, and super passionate about the local community and creating a wonderful environment for all. The owners are talented musicians and Jim even had his trumpet on a nearby table. No serenade? ha. Hope this place is no longer a secret in Secret City! They deserve to do well.

    Burrito

Go here. They are great. It is a few years old. There's lots of varieties. We ordered a burrito with eggs, sliced ham, cheese, and hashbrowns. Tuna salad with Vickie's sea salt chips. Small matcha latte and chai latte. The prices could be lower, but it was good. They sell teas, plants, and merchandise too.

One of a relatively few businesses in the Oak Ridge area, this was nonetheless a very yuppie kind of place, with ambient conversation centering around people's medical issues. My needs were not huge, and I ended up with a London Fog and a cup of overnight oats. Their oats are mixed with chia seeds so it's sort of like chia pudding, but I unfortunately am reminded that I don't like my oats cold. The London Fog was mild in flavor, and even their smaller size was quite substantial. It was a quick and easy stop. Their bagels looked nice if one has the room for them.

Cute little shop, homemade English muffins, great coffee. If you're in town, worth a stop for sure.

Great coffee, space to work and study. The blackberry jam is tangy and sweet. Next, I want to pick up a jar of the blueberry jam.

Bud's is such a cute and homey cafe! The homemade yogurt is refreshing and unique, and I would definitely order it again. The latte isn't the smoothest I've ever had, but has an overall good quality. I appreciate that the syrup isn't overpowering and let's the espresso stand alone, but I might recommend asking for a little extra syrup if you like coffee on the sweeter side. Staff is extremely friendly and patient. Love that a place like this has come to Oak Ridge!

While we didn't order coffee (it was early evening), the prices on the menu were very reasonable. Admission was $10 per person, regardless of age. If you have never been to a cat cafe, the whole point is to socialize with adoptable cats. From what I remember, cat adoption cost here was $125. When we got into the kitty room, there were only three cats out and exploring. Two wanted nothing to do with us and the other was cute and cuddly with another family there. After about 45 minutes, we asked one of the owners how many cats were there and she went to a back room where their litter boxes are housed and she coaxed out a few more cats. They mentioned that there were several kittens being brought in the next day as well. The space was so cute with fun murals, ample seating, and most importantly, lots of comfy spots for the cats to lounge and hidden nooks to explore. There were board games and video games for their human visitors as well as some suckers. Since they are getting rid of the slushy machines, they even offered us free slushies. While there were pics of the cats on the cat condo wall, it was still a tad challenging to tell what each cat's name was. It would be awesome to have names easily visible on their collars and a few more cat toys to play with them. Hope this spot is successful and lots of loving and sassy cats find good homes. :-)

Some…read morethings to note, I went on opening day, so it definitely was a lot more packed than it probably would be. I didn't get the owners name, but she had this bright personality and was very welcoming on opening day. She provided a fun give away and free snacks/beverages for the grand opening. The staff seemed very happy. They had a big smile and they were very polite. Unfortunately, I didn't get to experience the cafe on a day with less people. It was super packed due to it being opening day. I assume in the future it will become less packed so the animals aren't as stressed and there is more room. However, the only thing I would say would be nice, if in the future it is packed, maybe have a room limit that way people can enjoy the time with the cats and the cats don't get stressed out. But the main cat area is really cute. I love the design in the room. The cat hotel / loft is really cute. It allows the cat to retreat to a nice safe place if they want to be left alone. There are lots of seats for you to sit in including a nice comfy couch where you can sit down and enjoy some gaming. While I was there I didn't have a chance to really get a drink. I really wanted to enjoy playing with the cats so I didn't get one. However, a lot of people seem to enjoyed it. The drinks appeared to come out to the customers pretty quickly. They have a decent selection of drinks and snacks. I posted a photo of the menu :)! The entire place was very clean. The restroom was spotless, which is always really nice. The bar where they prepare the drinks seemed very clean and organized. Overall this place is definitely a spot you need to stop at if you are looking to adopt a cat or just enjoy a nice drink and snacks with cats in the area. This is a new business and remember to support them because they are doing a good thing and finding these lovable cats a home :)

They serve coffee, drinks, and homemade desserts such as cupcakes, custom cakes, brownies, thumbprint cookies, quick-style fudge, chocolate suckers, and a few other sweets and treats. There are several tables inside to sit down and relax while eating too. It's a quaint little place with lots of potential... Now, for my review based on my own personal experience. (If I could give them five stars for honesty alone, I would.) Upon entering, the display was completely empty - nothing inside. As I was later told (here comes the honesty information), Tuesday is the day in which they have very limited product. They bake each Wednesday. If I understood correctly, maybe they bake on Friday too? That, I'm not certain about...but the owner said the best day to visit is on Wednesday. They are fully stocked, and fresh products and multiple flavors abound. While the display was 100 percent empty on the Tuesday that I visited, they did have a few remaining cupcakes leftover at a reduced rate (half-price). Normally, classic cupcakes are $2.00 each, while the specialty flavors are $2.50 each. (Note: Most small, handheld edibles appeared to be a few dollars each as well.) I decided to try a chocolate cupcake with buttercream frosting and chocolate sprinkles for half-price, while the owner offered to frost a fresh red velvet cupcake with cream cheese icing for regular price. She did warn me that the freshness would be noticeable, and she was right. She gets major kudos for her honesty! I can only give three stars, though, because the flavor was not that impressive either. That's just my opinion, however. I would only ever purchase anything with cream cheese Icing from here again, definitely not the buttercream icing for me. Feel free to go in for a sweet treat and a cup of coffee. Just go in on a Wednesday or Thursday if you prefer a larger variety that is fresher than the half-price leftovers. I might suggest smaller batches of product per day or every other day rather than 1-2 large batches per week only. Maybe this is just growing pains. Best Wishes to this new family-owned business to work through the kinks of just opening!
