We were in the Knoxville area and decided to try this place for lunch. The breakfast reviews sounded wonderful so we were hoping that lunch would also be good. The restaurant is reminiscent of a diner from the 60's- typical downtown diner. The parking is in the rear. When we walked in, the sign said to please seat ourselves so we found an empty booth and sat down. There was plenty of available seating. A server came right over with menus and took our drink order. The special for the day-and not on the menu- was Country Style Steak with mashed potatoes and green beans or corn. I ordered that with the green beans and my husband ordered the Chicken Philly with the peppers. Both meals came out quickly. The steak was basically a hamburger patty with gravy on top. It tasted very good. The mashed potatoes were homemade and delicious! The green beans were seasoned just right. It also came with grilled bread slices that were very good. They were grilled with butter and flattened just like I make my grilled cheese. Very good! The chicken Philly was delicious. It was just right for one person but probably not big enough to be shared. It came with the peppers plus grilled onions and lettuce and tomato. The fries were hot and crisp. Rami's was an excellent meal in a historic looking restaurant that took us back in time. The service was friendly and quick. We highly recommend this gem of a restaurant.

We stopped in on a week day after Christmas for breakfast. I had the Greek omelette with rye toast. It was delicious!! Cooked perfectly and had fresh spinach!! My husband had the western omelette and he's said it was the best he has had in awhile.

Very enjoyable Wednesday morning breakfast. I was invited here by friends who live in the area that frequent Rami's, so the company I was in already guaranteed this would be a good visit. Sure enough, we sat down in a booth and the waitress asked, "coffee and orange juice as usual?" I love that personal touch. The coffee was poured as I perused the menu, which had just the right variety without being daunting. I was told the omelets were good, but I settled on the "Ultimate BLT" on rye bread, with an added egg on top. The sandwich was pretty big, definitely filling. Delicious. If I lived closer, I'd be a regular who gets recognized walking in. Unfortunately, I don't live nearby... but I will be back. Hopefully soon.

Hidden in Plain Sight Gem! My mom lives right down the street, we've driven by thousands of times and never knew this Cafe was here! Service was excellent. It's refreshing coming from the DMV and experiencing Southern hospitality. Rami's is a seat yourself, take your check to the cashier to pay your bill. Service in between is so homey, relaxed. My mom loved her fresh made burger with all the toppings. My veggie grilled cheese was different but yummy. Grilled cheese with mayo, lettuce and tomato. My Aunt raved about the housemade cole slaw. I had a bite of my niece's chocolate chip pancakes, delicious. Small but mighty!

Saturday 10:30, parking was available, but tight! Restaurant 3/4 full but we were immediately seated. Seated at clean booth, where I commence watching the wait staff. WOWZA! First word that comes to mind is professional. Quick, watchful, polite with smiles. Breakfast menu had something for everyone. If one is looking for French or bougie....this isn't your place. I had the potato omelet, wheat toast, hubby had 2 eggs scrambled, ham, biscuits/gravy. He rated his 4 of 5. Ham was sandwich ham, "not ham, ham". Portions sizes good, not excessive, coffee good.. Unsweetened tea, coffee, $24.00 with tip. This is the perfect place for a local, decently prepared meal served by professionals.

If I'd had more time, I would have loved hanging out here for a while. I only managed to get here about 45 minutes to close, so their selection was understandably if somewhat disappointingly quite picked over. I wound up with a cranberry oat scone and a blueberry and raspberry hand tart. The employee was very pleasant and warm. I appreciated her eagerness to help and positive attitude despite my late arrival. The baked goods sadly didn't really live up to my expectations. The cranberry oat scone was the much better of the two; it was pleasantly sweet and had the proper scone texture and only a little dry. Unfortunately, the hand tart had several edges that I discovered later had been burnt. This impacted the flavor of the whole item and sadly diminished it greatly. The fruit filling was tasty at least, though I didn't get much raspberry from it -- mostly blueberry. I'd be down to try again in the future, just would come earlier in the day when the selection is a bit larger and the products available are a bit more "choice," let's say. I appreciated the kind service and lovely vibes!

Haven't had pastrami in a while so I had to order the Pastrami Reuben and the presentation was great with how it was stacked! Between the sauce and the sauerkraut the flavors were all good and I enjoyed the taste of the pastrami when I found it, but the bread to meat ratio was so high I mostly tasted the burned crust of the bread and very few bites of pastrami. It was one slice of pastrami, not a thin slice but not what you hope for when you bite into true Jewish deli pastrami, which are normally bursting at the seems with meat. Marble rye is hard not to burn and they did a good job for the most part, but I tasted more crust than I did pastrami, and for $18 I wonder if this sandwich was more a charge for the hype. The blintzes were also smaller than one would expect of a blintz but I absolutely loved the compote on top.

I asked for a simple chocolate malt made with vanilla ice cream. Instead, what I got was a No Malt super thin milkshake that tasted like chocolate syrup. My bill for burger, rings and shake - $32. Thankful to have a reservation, we were promptly seated while others with no reservation were being told three hour wait times. I loved the vibe of Tupelo, the hanging lush green plants on the side of the bustling kitchen, the cheerful staff and the lively music. Lizette was our server and she was just a darling. It was our first time here, and she was so helpful with her all of her recommendations. One of Lizette's favorites was the "Peach, don't kill my vibe" sangria. Which I just loved. I nice mix of peach and pineapple in a sangria. For our mains, we had the grilled harvest chicken and the chicken tenders. Both mains came with two sides. With my grilled harvest chicken, I got the mashed potatoes and the braised bacon green beans. The green beans were to die for, even my hubby was saying he should've ordered that as his side. The harvest chicken I loved--especially the sautéed spinach, red peppers and tomatoes on top. But if you can't handle spicy, this dish does have some heat to it. And we ended my birthday celebration with the heavenly banana pudding. It was heavenly in every way. Made in house, and so delicious that even my hubby ate it and he never cares for this dessert. If I could've licked that little bowl, I would've. We already cannot wait to come back and try some of the brunch items on their menu.
