Great food. I have vowed to just randomly pick a place- another great find!!! Our server, Sheri (please forgive me if I misspelled it) was . Service was spectacular, appetizers and food were out quickly and the bartender did not disappoint! Great ambiance. They have high curling's so the noise is a little louder than most places I go, but we didn't have any trouble hearing each other in normal conversational level. Great neighborhood vibe!! Everything was give them a try.

Incredible experience for a couples trip! Food was delicious. The Bloody Mary was meh (wasn't a fan of the herbs) but our server Carter was incredible! And we love a brunch place that takes military discount! And you can taste the liquor! Must try if you're in Decatur or on your way through!

Visited Scout on a rainy Saturday and was able to get a table very quickly. The servers were up beat and seemed to enjoy working there. My server specifically was knowledgeable about the menu and gave us some great recommendations. Started off with a simple mimosa and order the Crispy Brussels as a starter. The portion is huge and perfect for sharing. For the most part this was a great choice but there was a bitter char to the dish which might be off putting for some. I ordered a side of biscuits which were delicious. Nice and fluffy, paired with sweet jelly. As my main I tried the Phoenix. The fried chicken was crispy and seasoned well which went nicely with the cheddar waffle. Lastly I tried the egg white omelette. This omelette was huge and so worth it! The flavors went together perfectly making each bite memorable. Overall I would recommend this place for a nice weekend brunch with friends or family. I will definitely be going back!

This is the second time I've been to the restaurant and once again it didn't disappoint. I went with a Meetup group and between the six of us, everyone loved their food. Even though they were quite busy for a Sunday brunch, the server was always on top of things. Would definitely go back.

I had THEE best dinner at Scout last night! The food, venue and service were great. Their homemade Caesar dressing was some of the best I ever had. The burger=great, the brussels sprouts=great, and the brownie.... my goodness. I can't wait until I'm back in town to try again!!

Avoid dining at this place. I went with a large party for birthday and this placed disappointed in food, drink, and service. The deviled eggs appetizer were a VERY hard consistency and we did not finish the plate of four. I was excited to order the Caesar with homemade dressing, grana padano, and anchovies. Flavorless anchovies were draped on top of the over-dressed lettuce, which is a clear indication the restaurant did not prepare the dressing from scratch. Also, the grana padano certainly wasn't freshly shaved. Of the other brunch appropriate orders, none were shared or raved about. Very average plates at high prices. Three of our drinks went unfinished. The little Bimini specifically tasted just like rum with water. Service here felt untrained and inattentive. We had to ask for water refills. No questions asked about the food or drinks left on our table.

stumbled across this place as I was looking for a restaurant to eat with my friends after a workout! I am so glad I came across this restaurant because it's in a residential area. Therefore it's not the type of restaurant you've passed by on a daily basis. For starters great customer service and a very clean restaurant. I liked the set up of there being a half open/visible so depending on where you sit, you're almost able to see the chefs prepare your meals! There are so many great options for food. I didn't know where to start. Ultimately I ended up getting the egg white chicken sausage omelette and when I tell you caramelized onions and an omelette is going to be my new favorite fixation! The food was very fresh and you can tell a lot of the items or house made. Even the mimosas had some sort of syrup in them. That was also fresh and potentially made in house as well. This is a family oriented restaurant and is very spacious so I definitely recommend bringing your family here for a celebration, after church, etc. I will definitely be coming back to try the other items that I wanted to taste off of the menu. The only downside to this restaurant is like I said it's in a residential area so there wasn't a designated parking lot . Therefore, you have to find parking on the street. There was plenty of street parking, however! definitely a place you'd want to check out and maybe even go back to experience the delicious food again!

Scout's honor, brunch at Scout was just a-ok. We saw that Scout had outdoor seating and called ahead to check that we could brunch outdoors with our pup. Check! Service was pretty slow - from waiting at the host stand to getting seated to finally flagging down a server and getting our orders in, to finally getting our food... it was a long waiting game. I ordered the Phoenix, which is basically a fancy chicken and waffle - the waffle was fluffy and fragrant but the Nashville hot chicken on top was a bit disappointing - dry and flavor didn't give me Nashville hot vibes. The Triple Berry Jam French Toast was pretty good but nothing mind blowing. Overall, the brunch we had at Scout was just a-ok. But next time I will leave the pup at home and stop in for the fried chicken (because that's what I've heard the most rave reviews for) and hope for a better second try!

Excellent taste. Even better service. Great value for the price. Parking is the only bad thing that I can say about this place.

Scout has a cool vibe, being in an old building that they converted into a restaurant. Plus, their staff is always warm and welcoming. Also, the food was really unique here, and quite good! The sprouts were an unexpected combo of fruit, cheese, and veggies. Somehow, it all worked so well. That uniqueness carried through the whole meal too. I'd absolutely recommend coming here for dinner. I'm going to come back, and try their morning offerings too.

Overall, this is a very nice place. It is a lovely decor, and the grounds around are nicely done. But the indoor seating seemed nicer than outside. It was very easy to park. A big plus when your alternative is downtown Decatur. The food was pretty good but the service was mediocre to poor. We had to wait quite awhile to get ordered then she'd disappear for long periods but other workers would flit by that we could flag down. I asked for salt, sister needed a spoon for her grits, ketchup for burger, etc. The waitress finally got civil and chatty when my sister pulled out her credit card to pay. It was very obvious, we all 3 noticed, simultaneously. (But my sister used to be a Pizza Hut waitress so she gave a very good tip.) I really don't like how restaurants have used the pandemic as an excuse to stop putting salt, pepper, napkins (everything) on the table. Okay, that's my daily rant. The food was good, for the most part. We got two appetizers, crispy brussel sprouts with balsamic glaze and candied walnuts and the deviled eggs. Brussel sprouts were delicious and the eggs were okay but there were only 4 halves and it costs $14. Too much by any measure. They had several gluten free options, well noted on the menu. Sister got The Double Mason, no bread, with sweet potato fries. She liked it. The beet and arugula salad was tasty, generous and not too much vinaigrette. The harvest cheddar biscuit was "meh". Nice texture but I couldn't taste much cheese. My other sister got the cheese grits as a side, they looked yummy. We asked for a dessert menu. There was one gluten free option, flourless cake. Didn't sound gooey enough so we shared a banana split. It was okay.

Came here for brunch with a friend and left very happy! The restaurant is in an old building that's been updated so the floors are beautiful old (looking, anyway) wood but the rest is modernized. Very cute character and lots of windows and natural light. The staff very welcoming and quick-- from the host to the person to sat us to our waitress. At one point a fly flew into my mimosa and the host, who was walking by, immediately remade it. The menu didn't have a ton of selections but maybe that's for the best so you choose faster! I had their version of eggs Benedict (crispy prosciutto instead of ham. Delish) and my girlfriend got the chicken sausage and strawberry jam French toast. Everything was delicious. I live out of state so I sadly can't make this a regular spot but highly recommend adding this to your list if you're in the area!

We went here to celebrate a friend's birthday!! Nice casual spot, with attentive staff and good service. Everyone enjoyed there food with a couple of adjustments. I did have 3 cocktails (screwdrivers) and had no buzz, disappointing. But my burger was delicious! No rushing or time limit while there. We all would return.

He was very patient answering many questions about the menu. My mom has a lot of food sensitivities so she has to be very specific about what she eats. Hands down the best thing on the table was my shrimp and grits! The shrimp had just the right amount of Cajun seasoning, the grits were smooth and cheesy, the vegan sausage was nice and savory, and I loved the little grilled piece of focaccia bread. My fiancé loved the Kirkwood Breakfast. Especially the lavender biscuit and the preserves that went with it. He was also a huge fan of the honey bacon. My mom also got the Kirkwood breakfast, but she opted to get the eggs without the boursin cheese because of her food issues. My niece's boyfriend got the challa French toast and WOW it was a sight to see! Huge fluffy piece of French toast, topped with fresh berries, and a ricotta cheese blend. He seemed quite happy with it, although it was a little on the fence with the texture of ricotta, I'm thinking he probably hasn't had that before so I didn't know it was kind of like a cottage cheese texture. I got a lavender infused lemonade, nonalcoholic drink from the bar, and it was an absolute delight! I was surprised when they only charged me $4 for it, I felt like that was a great price for a delicious drink. My only constructive criticism to them would be to let people know that they add a 20% gratuity to every check. I don't mind paying that and honestly usually tip more but I do appreciate when a server will at least circle that on the check or let you know verbally .
