We were worried that we might not be able to find a spot to eat as it was rapidly approaching 9pm in Springdale. Luckily, we checked in at Scouts and they seated us without hesitation. Normally when restaurants are close to closing, they rush service. That was definitely not the case here. All the staff was wonderful but Timmy was exceptional. He went out of his way to verify some ingredients for allergens, was unhurried in his approach, and very warm and personable on top of it all. The food, while pricey, was very good and good portions. My family and I had a lovely breakfast on the outdoor patio, enjoying a beautiful view of Zion Mountain. My daughter and I both enjoyed the Berry Cobbler French Toast on thick sliced brioche bread with berry compote, fresh berries and short bread crumble, while my hubby had the Denver Scramble with roasted peppers, onions, black forest ham, aged cheddar and crispy potatoes. When you thought the $36 fried chicken plate was gonna be a plate of delicious plate of actual bone in fried chicken but instead it was fried dryyy flatten out chicken breast patties ... so dry.. what a disappointment! Mac and cheese didn't have any flavor also ... this was our third dining experience in Zion and nothing has been good here food made for tourists that's for sure . Only thing great was the bartender cuz she hosted served and bartended ! Scout Bar & Grill has been open for only a few days so, of course, they are still working out the details. Thus four stars, rather than five, for now, anyway. The restaurant is pleasant in appearance. The bar is quite elegant and inviting. It's someplace you'd love to sit and relax after a busy day in Zion. Service was friendly, but a bit slow, owing mainly to the newness of the operation. I'm guessing they'll work it out soon. The food was exceptionally delicious. We enjoyed the salmon, the earth burger, the mac and chesse, and especially the fried chicken, a house speciality. Also a fine selection of beverages with interesting cocktail options. Also the quantities are generous. The quality and tastiness of the food almost earns 5 stars. Prices are on the higher side for Springdale, but reasonable given the excellence of the food and the ambiance. I guessing that, in time, I will update this review to 5 stars. Not only did I enjoy Scout Bar & Grill, but everyone in my large party (15 people) was impressed and looked forward to coming again. A great start for a new restaurant! read more

We loved sitting outside in what looked like a charming restaurant outside Zion Natl' Park. It was a bit chilly and the restaurant was not busy. This ended up being the worst meal we have ever eaten! We ordered the BBQ Brisket Platter to share and 2 margaritas. It took 20 minutes for the cocktails to arrive- again, it was not busy. The brisket was nothing but fat and without notifying us, they substituted the baked potato with mashed potatoes. We are lactose intolerant and the potatoes were made with milk. There was no apology other than to say they were out of baked potatoes. All in all, the meal was awful! We would not recommend this restaurant to anyone! read more

If you care about your money in this economy, make the wise decision and spend it somewhere else where you won't say how terrible it is after the first bite. After a long drive, we wanted somewhere close to our hotel, so we ended up at Scout Bar & Grill. It's a nice spot with a bar area, an indoor dining area, and an outdoor patio with great views of Zion. The staff was friendly, and our waitress was fantastic. The drinks were good, though the prices felt a bit high for the portion sizes. The Brisket Mac n Cheese was absolutely delicious. Everything else was just okay. The brisket was dry, but when I mentioned it to our waitress at the end of the meal, she kindly took it off the bill. The chicken was good, though we didn't really taste the smokiness. Fun comfortable place to grab a cocktail and relax in the comfy seating. Shuffle board table and TVs flank the room. Immediately adjacent is the restaurant that offers breakfast and dinner. What a beautiful hotel. You can tell they've put so much into making this place perfect. It's got such a cozy vibe. Service was phenomenal even when we walked in with less than an hour to close. There's a 21 and over side with full bar with a connected opening of the restaurant. I loved the open concept to see the kitchen. Menu was small but held great options. We had already ate dinner earlier in the night so we opted for their take on the wings and a few drinks. The cider they had on tap was delicious. Scout was a nice little dinner stop on our first night in the area. After a long day of driving, my husband and I were craving some good cocktails, and Scout delivered--my favorite was their peach mint mule and my husband's was The Goldrush. The food was very well seasoned and tasted great; you've gotta try their truffle cheese fries, which are sooo good, but be warned that there's next to no cheese on them hah. Still a standout! I had the sassy bird sandwich and my husband had the steak sandwich, both of which were pretty good. The chicken breast in my sandwich was really well battered but did look to be a little gray in certain parts, so I'm not sure it's entirely white meat (FYI). Everything we had was good and the views from the patio were stunning. The downside to this place would be the service; it took about 10 minutes for anyone to acknowledge us once we were seated at our table, and each item ordered came out super slowly. To be honest, the wait staff being so friendly is the only reason I'm giving a single star. I got the scout burger and fries. I will say, the portion sizes are MASSIVE. But, the only flavor I got from the burger was char from the grill. I tasted no salt, no seasoning whatsoever. The fries were just as bland. I genuinely don't think I've had a worse burger and fries in my life, and I'm truly not a picky eater. Definitely not worth the $22 they charge for it. We live in Las vegas where hospitality is prioritized over anything else and Christine far exceeded those expectations. We ordered Nachos which were really good. The bar is another story. On the menu, there are no prices on some of the items. I should have asked how much a drink and ordered just a plain house drink. The server didn't tell us the price or even knew what type of bourbon is used on a house drink when we asked. The drink was $18 for an old-fashion cocktail. The Four Seasons Hotel doesn't even charge that much for that drink. That was ridiculous and the drink was not even good. I ordered a mule and ice was filled to the brim. Don't waste your money at this bar. I spoke to the bartender the next day and her response was, oh well. I spoke to the front desk and they wouldn't even help me.
