Cute spot on the side of the highway. Kids enjoyed exploring a bit. Not bad panini sandwiches but nothing special. Coffee is terrible, from a Keurig they should tell you this when ordering. Very very slow do not stop if you are in a hurry at all. Would Have skipped if we had known all this but if you have time it's not bad. read more

My friend and I were really excited for this place but it sort of let us down. It's a very cool area and I'm glad we went but there wasn't anything too special about their sandwiches. They were just sandwiches and a bit overpriced for the size. It came out to about $14 before tip and did not come with a drink or chips. The bathroom was locked and you had to get the key from the cave. Not entirely sure if this was necessary as it didn't seem to get that much traffic. The staff was nice enough but if you needed anything extra it took a while to even get their attention. read more

Oh dear lord I love this place! On our way to Salt Lake City we wiz past a sign that has smoothie and açaí bowls sold here! I make my husband turn around. All my favorite things smoothies and açaí bowls. Super clean manicured grounds. Cute party lights, corn hole , picnic tables and shade! I ordered the moqui açaí bowl. It was huge. Lots of fresh fruit, honey, cinnamon and peanut butter. I opted no granola since there was some confusion if it was gluten free. They substituted with shredded coconut. We stopped on the way back home and I got the same bowl. Side note there's a little museum next door but we didn't go inside. They have the key to the bathroom. Highly recommend stopping here. Ordered the pesto grilled cheese, they gave me the wrong sandwich so I sent it back - on the second attempt, the cheese wasn't even close to melted and they somehow forgot the pesto. Extremely disappointed and will not be coming back. read more

The size was plenty to share, the temperature was a little chilly which was perfect for a hot summer afternoon, and the fruit was delicious. We also ordered a few smoothies and the honey apple bacon panini. The glaze on the sandwich was perfect. The smoothies were good, not great. We tried all 3 and the orange pineapple was our favorite. Kinda pricey for what it is, but getting a chilled smoothie in the middle of the desert is worth it. They are a little slow getting food ready, but there's a small cave to explore behind the food truck and plenty of shaded seating to relax. We heard a lot of buzz about this place from the staff at Best Friends and decided to give it a whirl. So happy we did. The Desert Oasis acai bowl was absolutely delicious. The base, made from acai, pineapple, mango and other fruits, was the perfect balance of tangy and sweet, and the fruit toppings were very fresh. The mango smoothie was okay, and seemed a bit diluted. We loved the comfortable seating and the shady location. The wait wasn't too bad on a Monday, though when we went back two days later craving another acai bowl, the wait was over an hour and we couldn't stay around that long. The three star is for the taste of the food but I give the lack of attention to the making of the food (temperature and 22 minutes wait) a two star. Let's talk about the food stuff first. Thankfully both paninis and the tomato bisque were quite tasty but the disappointing part is that we waited over 20 minutes for our lukewarm paninis and soup. The customers behind us who ordered paninis as well got their meals first (go figure!). The fact that we had to ask to get the soup heated (not even to a hot temperature but a warmer temperature) makes me wonder why as paying customers we had to wait as long as we did. The Cave Cafe is lucky that their food can get them by enough for a decent rating but if you're one who enjoys their meals tempered and grilled cheese hot and melty - you won't find it here. Side note - irritating when you pay with a credit card these days, it automatically asks you to tip BEFORE you receive your paid items and the service. Had I known what to expect, my tip would not have been quite as generous. Hope you all have better luck with timing and temperature. read more

My husband and I shared an Italian panini and a moqui açaí bowl after exploring the caves. The panini was so delicious! The bread was amazing and perfectly pressed. The açaí was refreshing, just a little more on the watery side rather than thick. Still good though! Free WiFi, bathrooms on site, and picnic tables available for seating. read more

Stopped here on a whim on our way home from Lake Powell. We tried the Moqui Açaí Bowl, the Honey Apple Bacon Panini, and the Southwest Turkey Panini. Everything was tasty but the Moqui Bowl and Honey Apple Bacon Panini were everyone's favorite by far. I really wish we would have ordered the Monte Cristo style panini (called Montezuma's Treasure). The wait wasn't bad at all--about fifteen minutes or so. I imagine that the Cave Cafe will be a staple from here on out when our travels take us that direction. read more

Excellent stop off on the way in to (or out of) Kanab in the direction of Bryce and Zion. Our family of four stopped in for açai bowls and smoothies in the mid-afternoon, and it was a perfect pit stop. Pleasant grounds with dinosaur footprints, a grassy area to play cornhole, and lots of shade. And, excellent smoothies and açai bowls. They've only opened recently, apparently the brainchild of the grandson (and heir apparent) of the original founders of Moqui Cave. He and his wife have decided to do food, and they've gone decidedly upscale and modern, which is a very welcome direction to take a food truck on the side of Route 89 in Southern Utah. Loved this place! Such a cute spot to get some coffee and a panini. The location is gorgeous and check out their little cave next to their trailer. On the other side there is a small museum. Overall cute. My husband loved their iced chai tea latte and we shared the Turkey panini (can't recall the correct name, first on the menu). Super delicious and crunchy. I came visiting from Texas and the food and service was spectacular and the scenery was absolutely breathtaking. My eyes have been opened and I have see the light. I thought everything was better in Texas, but gods hand has touched every item on the menu here. This has got to be the overall best food truck in America. I ate after taking a tour of the cave which is deep with such magnificent history of the natives that once dwelt there and has been family owned and operated for generations. I saw John Wayne's chair, and I bought a buffalo geode that is my favorite souvenir I've gotten in all my travels. Must eat! And also get that buffalo if they still sell it. Great food, fresh and fast. The sandwiches are interesting combinations and so good. I love the beacon, apple and cheese roasted sandwich. The area is so pretty with tables in chairs in the fresh air. There is a place to play corn hole and shade trees. The smoothies and coffee is good.
