Easy parking Easy seating- basically find a spot Fair diner atmosphere- a little upkeep for the shared items like menus would help and be appreciated I like the menu and honestly my hubby brought me breakfast from here last summer but yesterday was my first time eating in. It seems like a Vallejo staple, I believe I read since 1937. I definitely have an affinity for Nostalgic locations. I had a Jacks scramble with spinach and mushrooms, sourdough toast, and hash browns; one teen had French toast; other teen pancakes with sausage and eggs (she ate my hash browns). Filling food, nice service, and oh, CASH ONLY.

This place used to be a gem in Vallejo but no longer. It is under new ownership and has really gone downhill. We went a few weeks ago and the place was not clean and in great need of a remodel. Seats were torn and dirty. The tables, and bar stools were also worn. The service is ok if you can get the servers on a good day. Ours was a little grumpy and seemed put out when we requested extra napkins, fresh cream for coffee, etc. Their cream is on the tables in an old fashioned silver server that sits on the table all morning so if you go for a late breakfast it has been sitting there for almost 4 hours and it didn't smell good. Their sugar is also kept in a very dirty used glass server with a flip lid that is always crusted over and doesn't look very clean. Our food came out cold and the hash brown potatoes were almost raw. (See photo) Another problem for us is that the place is "cash only". There is an ATM inside the restaurant and you are referred to it by the servers in a very grumpy manner if you even give them the slightest protest about not being able to use your credit card. I witnessed this happening about 3 times while we were there when someone tried to just come in for donuts at the counter. Also beware that this area has a lot of homeless and they sometimes hang out around the restaurant. High crime area so keep your valuables out of sight if you go. End of an era due to new ownership. We won't be back.

Generous portions. Speedy service and friendly. Kids menu a little overpriced. 2 adults. 2 kids for breakfast 40. 2 donuts were 1.60 so I say go for that. Pancakes were really good and my husband did like the sausage. read more

This is definitely a local favorite. I was in the area on business and stoped there for breakfast. I ordered the corn beef hash and eggs. Corn beef hash is from a can which was fine with me. The order came out exactly as I requested crispy hashbrowns and well-done corn beef hash. Staff is super friendly. Do take note that it is cash only. They have an ATM on site in case you need it. read more

I thought the food was okay. I did appreciate they used real eggs for our omelet. My only complaint is my daughter did have a hair in her food, but the manager quickly apologized and made her another breakfast. I was a little surprised that they still charged us for her breakfast. I was also a touch perplexed that they do not accept credit cards (they do have an ATM) machine near the register, which charges a fee to access your cash. I can see where this could cause an unexpected or unnecessary wait. I would like to give them another chance if I'm ever in the area again. read more

I absolutely LOVE Scotty's! Wonderful service, cozy atmosphere, huge portions, and delicious donuts! I usually get a bacon, ham, and avocado omelette with sour cream and it never disappoints! It also comes with toast and hash browns, and it is easily enough food for two people. One of my favorite aspects of Scotty's is that the food is never overly greasy. Huge win and a rarity for a diner! Scotty's truly has the basics or great food and great service down pat, and it will continue to be my go-to breakfast spot in Vallejo! read more

Scotty's Cafe has been serving Vallejo from the same location since 1937! Wow that's a long time. I have eaten here a few times and find it to be a good value for the food that you get. I have only eaten breakfast (for lunch) here. Good omelets and French toast. They have tables, booths and counter seating available. They aslo make their own donuts and have been for 70 years. I have not tried one yet but people say that they are good. I guess I have to like a diner with my name, right? ; ) read more

What an awesome find!!!! We were on our way to Napa and we're searching Yelp for a breakfast spot and saw this place and decided to give it a try. I am so glad we did. It's a home town diner full of locals and they made us feel right at home. The menu has so many great options it was hard to choose. I went with an omelet that was made to order and was the size of a catchers mitt and hash browns made to perfection. The quality, the quantity, the price, the service were all 5 star. Love coming to this place for breakfast. I highly recommend their omeletes and corned beef hash dishes. All the breakfast items are made from scratch. Came here for lunch the other day, I ordered the ruben and my boss ordered a regular hamburger. Was expecting more for $9, there was maybe 2-3 credit card stacks of corned beef on my ruben and an inch of saurkraut. Flavors were decent, but more meat would have been better. especially when it costs the same as the breakfast items and you get more corned beef in the hash than the sandwich... Overall, a good coffee/donut shop in Vallejo. Great for breakfast. read more

Food is pretty good. I had the french toast and they were really tasty and fluffy. We also ordered the shrimp omelette and eggs with ham plate. Service was great, prices on point. Only thing its missing is a changing station for babies in either of the two restrooms. read more

Quality fast food, at very reasonable prices. We dine there at least once a week, sometimes two or three times and have consistently been impressed and satisfied. Scotty's is my absolute favorite spot for breakfast. Their French Toast is amazing. Everything is amazing actually. If you want a real, home cooked meal, this is your place ! The customer service is out of this world. Everyone here is incredibly nice, warm, and helpful !! I'd recommend Scotty's to anyone & I just keep going back !! My entire family loves it. P.S. The food was great the first time I went I ordered the club sandwich it was really good. The second day I went I ordered a omelette it was also really good. I'm not a coffee drinker but I ordered some and both days it was watery so they need to improve their coffee. The other thing that needs improvement is their method of payment they take cash only. No debit or credit cards taken good thing WellsFargo bank is across the street and I was able to walk over there and withdraw the money. This is the reason why I gave them 4 stars instead of 5 stars. read more

Our favorite family owned breakfast joint. Everyone there is a big family and it shows when you enter this hidden gem restaurant. Boyfriend religiously ordered corned beef n hash saying no one else made it better. I enjoy their bacon avocado omelette- the thing was so big I had to take almost half home. As I walked into the restaurant the environment seemed very friendly and my whole experience there was very nice until I realized I got completely ripped off once I got the check. This place wasn't even busy, maybe 8-10 tables that's it. After standing there for 5-10 minutes watching 2 people check out, we were told to just sit wherever. After sitting for another 10 minutes watching the 2 other servers repeatedly pass by I had to get up and go grab our own menus. Only to get a look of astonishment from the lady at the check out area and a lady server. Luckily Jesse finally came and helped us. He told us he had been on break. He was super polite and honestly all you other servers there could take some cues from him. Glad we had him as our server and the only reason I gave this 3 stars and not 1

The cod and fries were fine, but 1/3 of the meal missing. The 3 stars were for partial meal, lack of attention by "server". Food was good (no side dish- potato salad), packaged frozen cod. Tipped 20% (lowest I do for service clearly not given by a waiter). During entire seating, I never Seen him pick up any food from kitchen. So not sure of role of "server".
