They probably don't care about reviews. You know people with MediCal don't have many choices when it comes to health concerns. No matter how shitty they are people will still come because they have no choice. I just want to say I hope that the women in the front desk receive the same treatment they have given me. I hope they are in a foreign area in distress looking for even a little consideration and get nothing in return. I hope they get disregarded and sarcastic responses just like I received. I have never been treated so poorly by health care workers. They do not care about this job. I will never return here and when I figure out how to properly report this facility I will be doing so. I'm giving this place three stars because quite frankly the offices are filthy. The bathroom... forget it and the mismatched scrubs worn by the staff are even more unprofessional. The good though is that I did like the doctor. Not sure if it was Dr. Sheila who saw me as that day one of the doctors had car trouble (I don't think it was). Anyway, after waiting for a while I was finally seen and everyone seemed like they knew what they were doing. (Ever gotten your eyes checked at Costco by what seemed like an actor in scrubs?). Once the exam was over the doctor said that the axis on my old prescription (which was done somewhere else) was off. I'm no doctor but I don't think I've ever been happy with any of my last prescriptions. So even though that prescription was the same as all my prior prescriptions, I decided to trust her when she said it wasn't correct. And so off I went to order glasses online (sorry, not sorry since my insurance doesn't cover them thus I needed to find a deal). Today I got my glasses and for once they feel right. The office needs to get their stuff together and get acquainted with the concept of "pride of ownership" and fix that place up. But apart from that, they know what they are doing and do it well for sure. Also, there was only one person in the desk area that seemed like she hated everything and everyone. Dr. Sheila Scott treated my mother for a fleshiness removal. STAFF IS RUDE ! UNPROFESSIONAL!! My mother was put in a 30 day disability due to the surgery, my mother provided the EDD documents to be filled out by the Dr. or staff a week later after the surgery, is been now more than 30 days and my mother has return to work but STAFF FAILS TO COMPLETE THE DISABILITY PORTION THAT THE DOCTOR IS SUPPOSED TO COMPLETE .. Staff made the following comment "we have a lot of files and documents that we need to work on" I completely understand but a month later is unacceptable, The staff unprofessionalism is causing a financial hardship to my mother. read more

In the past I saw Dr Opatowski in Lancaster but since I live in Palmdale I wanted to see someone closer and found this office by phone who took my insurance and made the appointment. The reviews are very true about this place being over booked and rude employees. I had to wait forever and the office people didn't seem to know when I would be called. Finally, after having to listen to non stop cell phone conversations that were loud, I got called in to be seen, however I wasn't seen, it was just another place to be dumped like human waste. Sat there for another long time, and noticed there were several people back in those hard, uncomfortable chairs (no padding), and small children being disruptive and running around. Waited there another long time. Then got sent in to a small room where I waited yet again! After the tests were done I was put back in the hall for another wait. After too many minutes, someone brought my prescription to me. I then went to the room next door to look frames over. Not much to choose from and nothing designer, meaning pretty and unique. Just bland, plain, and more choices in children's frames it seemed to me. This whole office gives off a very down-level medi-cal-clinic vibe, meaning, cluttered, noisy, rude employees who couldn't care less about how long you've been sitting there in pain from the hard uncomfortable chairs. Too many places they leave you sitting & waiting, with no explanation or apology for it. I'm disabled and find sitting for hours on hard chairs very hard to do, it takes me days to recover from that. I won't be coming back again. I don't want to leave a place feeling like I don't matter to the place, I'm only another number, a human cattle to be shoved into small noisy areas and forgotten. read more

This past week I was having issues with my right eye. I called the office and they made room for me to come in and be seen. Everything was ok. Unfortunately I had a second episode with my right eye. I called the office again, and they got me right in. They were waiting for me, had my chart pulled, and took me right back to see the Dr. While Dr. Sheila was really busy, she made me feel like I was a priority and found out what was going on with my eye. I ended up having a retinal tear. I had to have a laser procedure, which I was nervous about, but she assured me it was necessary and explained what was going to be done. The procedure went well, And I had no pain. She also scheduled an appointment with a retinal specialist for me to see the next morning. Thanks to her knowledge and thoroughness, my eye is doing well. Dr. Sheila Scott Wright is a prime example of what a great ophthalmologist should be like. She actually takes time to thoroughly explain all procedures, RXs, and conditions (if any) to patients. We drive from the I.E all the way to Palmdale just to see her and visits are always pleasant. Also, Faye and Regina are always ready to answer any questions or address any concerns you might have.I highly recommend this establishment to anyone. Their great customer service and attention to detail exceeded my expectations since day one. read more

I was just at this office today with my mother who had an appointment for her yearly diabetic eye exam at 11:30am. I was told to be there at 1130am because with everything going on they didn't want a lot of people at once. I arrived at 11:25 to sign her in, there were 5 patients in the waiting room. We signed in and waiting outside as instructed. Around 12:40 they finally called my mom and I was ok finally ..: well nope! We were just transfer from the first waiting room to a waiting room in the back office. While waiting there was a patient coming out of a room without a mask, dr going from one room to another without cleaning equipment. Totally unsanitary! Around 1:15 the receptionist comes to me and said: would you like to come back at a later time today or we can reschedule you - the Dr can't continue to work without a lunch. I was so mad! Waiting for almost two hrs for nothing! They overbooked, they are unorganized, unprofessional! This office is a joke! I will NEVER come back to this place again! read more

The staff here are not compassionate for the patients. Dr. Wright was pretty cool, and caring. But her front office staff won't even greet you when you walk up to the front desk; even when you greet them they just say "Sign in and take a seat" I think the staff is very rude and Dr. Shelia needs to hold staff meetings regarding how they should interact with the public read more

Very bad costumer service, receptionist ignores people and treats them despicably. Place is small with only 10 chairs to seat down and about 11 people are constantly standing for over 1 hour, children and young people seating while elders and pregnant woman are standing. Horrible system for appointments. You have to wait at least 2- 3 hours btw going to 3 different rooms. They don't disinfect the equipment between patients. They tried to dilate my mom's eyes before they check her vision for a new glasses. Overall this office sucks. read more

This is a review for my ONE time visit back in March of 2015. I'd been feeling like my vision quality had maybe been decreasing and I was really worried about that because i've had perfect vision my whole life. This doctor was contracted with my insurance and was kind of close to where I was living at the time so I scheduled with her. First of all, Casey is right. Making the appointment, the receptionist gave off a really mean and bad vibe. Her tone just wasn't nice. But I thought 'whatever, it doesn't matter'. When I got there, the waiting room was RIDICULOUSLY full. I was sure my vision was bad because ANYONE could see this office was clearly overbooking patients. Receptionist, again, seemed like she wasn't happy to be there. At this point, neither was I. But whatever. I waited in the waiting area maybe 30 minutes, got called back and was taken to a waiting room INSIDE the doctor office. I had to wait in the waiting room, to go to another waiting room lol. I guess there's a first time for everything. Another 30 minutes passed and I got called by a nurse who asked me a couple questions and did a short test on me. After that, I waited again for another 20 minutes to be put into a room with all the equipment. Dr. Sheila came in and asked me questions about what I thought was going on, but she seemed rushed. Her cell phone rang and to my astonishment, she asked me to hold on while she took the call. It was about someone she'd sent to Hollywood for an operation or something like that. And I get it, it was probably for a patient she cared about or whatever but I'm sure it could've waited another 5 minutes; the time it took for her to check my eyes, tell me that I had basically no vision loss (which I'm glad about, obviously) and send me on my way. I don't know, it made me feel less important as a patient. Maybe it was a one time thing. Like I said, this is a review for my visit from over a year ago, so maybe things have changed. But from my experience, staff needs to be friendlier, scheduling needs to be fixed, and visits need to feel more helpful and personalized. I wouldn't be returning, and it's not because I moved so far away either. read more

I booked an appointment for an eye exam to obtain a new prescription for contacts. I was told I would have the first appointment after lunch. When I arrived the doctor had been out for lunch for the past hour, had not yet returned...but had patients from 2-3 hours previously still sitting in the waiting room, yet unseen. I knew it could be at least 2-3 before I saw the doctor. After waiting for an hour and seeing minimal progress in the waiting room line, i walked out and never returned. I would not recommend this doctor based on that experience. To add to the frustration, the front staff never even looked up when I walked in the door or when speaking to patients. They seemed annoyed when i asked if I needed to sign in. They were completely rude during the whole process. It comes across that this clinic does not value quality care. read more

Do not go here if you can avoid it. Long wait and unprofessional/rude staff. They are very disorganized and take on to many patients to ensure adequate care to anyone. My friend had to report Dr shiela to the medical board after botched eye muscle surgery performed on her son which was never followed up by her or staff. Very sad and inexcusable! read more

Went there twice, once with my husband and once for myself. The wait was entirely too long. Not worth it. I didn't get to see Dr. Scott, I saw someone else which was a surprise. They should have told me I was seeing a different doc, and I didn't like the attitude of the person who saw me. read more
