I'm giving these guys 5 stars, I only have a small job to repair and I tried for weeks to get several companies out. Because it was not hail damage no one wanted to even come out. I even tried the people that were reviewed here on Yelp in the NW area thinking they would not mind a small job close by. Well, the salesman came by and told me it was a easy fix but they would have to re-do a section that was done by my handyman and would cost about $1200. I can understand this because once they fix it they have to warranty it so he recommended me to have my handyman come back out. I followed his advice and will see how it goes, I am just grateful someone came out to help me unlike every other company I called. read more

Scott Roofing just finished a new roof on our 22 year old house. We are very blessed to have had Eddie and his crew put a new roof on our house. Eddie took pictures of the damage on the roof, explained what his crew was going to do and when the crew would be here. The guys worked extremely hard and did a fantastic job. Eddie did a fantastic job of supervising the crew, making a final inspection and keeping us informed of the progress. We are extremely satisfied with the crew, and Eddie. We cannot say enough about Eddie's professional, courteous and friendly attitude. Anyone who needs a new roof or repairs on their roof, your money is well spent on Eddie and his crew. We were contacted by Scott Roofing as a result of a request on To Fix It website. The person who contacted us on the phone was completely professional and courteous. However, when the estimator showed it was completely different. I believe the price increased due to the location which is a senior/active adult community. I live in a 1800 sq foot home. I have a mix of tile and flat shingle roof. I really wanted my tile underlay replaced and the tile replace simply for appearance. The estimator told me (3) times he was a third generation roofer, but never mentioned how long he had been roofing, which told me nothing of his personal experience. He spend about 30 minutes on the roof as he said he would. When he returned he said my flat part of my roof was in seriously bad condition and that it is leaking. He quoted me prices for repair on my tile section of $24,000 and $27,000 for the schingle section. - This is a 1800 Sq Ft. House. I actually had the roof work done by a reputable roofer for a third of the price. read more

We needed to have our tile roof replaced and went through the estimate process with four different companies. The estimate from Scott roofing was ball park with the others and we were impressed with the people and service. They were able to find tiles that matched our old ones so we didn't have to buy all new tiles. That was a big savings. Great company to do business with! read more

They may have come in at least $1K cheaper, but ya gotta inspire confidence with timely service. Glad I didn't wait any longer on them... found a better vendor. read more

We hired Scott Roofing to do a partial rebuild of a flat roof..The salesman described a process of removing sections of the old roofing down to the plywood then re bonding sections then coating the roof twice. Also removing bubbles and 7 or so old antenna brackets that penetrated the roof. $2800.00. Unlike the verbal quote,the written quote was not job specific and didn't include any specific job details...MY MISTAKE.. The workers arrived and removed the old penetrations and cut out a couple bubbles then to my amazement used self stick rolled roofing to patch over the removed areas.. No removing or re-bonding of materials to the plywood was done. Non of the patches went down to the plywood even thought the tar paper was obviously not bonded to the plywood. 2 HOURS OF WORK BY TWO MEN.. The next day they came and added a second coat of coating , 1 hours work for two men. $2800 for 3 hours of work and materials... read more

Terrific company and business model...coordinated with our solar company well past expectation, kept in touch with us as needed to confirm scheduling and all moving parts, slotted us in several months before initial date, and all the install crews were detailed, professional and had their eyes on the ball. Had my residential flat roof recoated by Scott about 5-6 years ago. It literally leaked the next time it rained. (it wasn't leaking before, but it was about 10 years old and due for a recoat) To prove it was their fault they had to run a hose on the roof until it leaked some more, leading to more interior damage. It turns out they somehow had poked a hole in my roof and then missed it on final inspection. They sent a worker to repair the interior of my house and I even had to argue with him to pull all the insulation since I knew it would be wet...it was. About 4 years later I called them for an estimate on a leaking spot in my garage (I must have been insane to even consider using them) and they came at me with a ridiculous set of quotes. Thankfully that led me to call Foam Experts Roofing who informed me of a small hole in a metal vent which only needed a little bead of silicone. Avoid Scott like the plague unless you want to deal with crooks who do shoddy work. read more

If your insurance company does not match Scott Roof forget it. No returned phone calls, nothing. Our roof needed little repair but as it was an old tile they said it was no longer made (which the insurance comapny agreed with). But unless the coverage was for a new roof they were not interested. The insurance company has a department that their only job is to track down tiles. Only then will they agree to a new roof. Try someone else is my advice read more

We had Scott Roofing out to our house to inspect the roof after our buyers home inspector reported several broken tiles. Doug from Scott roofing came out and inspected our second story roof and took pictures of the entire roof for free! No broken tiles were found and we were not charged at all. I typically don't write reviews, however in this case I thought it was necessary. I have been a loyal customer to Scott Roofing for years so naturally I called them when i had an issue with my new home. In September 2018, a sheeting on my flat roof flipped due to wind (wood exposed). On Oct 4th, the estimator (in the business for over 20 years) provided a few options including using the existing sheeting as a base and covering it with another roofing material. This option was possible because the damage was not extensive. I paid my deposit and was slotted into a que. Note: the que was 2+ months long and during that time more rain. On 12/12 the work was scheduled to begin. The repair crew immediately told me that the repair suggested was not at all going to work. Only then did the office call me and indicate that the roofing repair option should never have been an option in the first place. They indicated that the estimator didn't take appropriate pic (ie passing blame?). Anyway, I am willing to accept human error but I cant accept the fact they put me BACK INTO THE QUE til next February (best case). Unfortunately, my roof will likely then suffer more damage and more costs. Bottomline, they made a mistake and now i am back into a que without any exception. Really? I can't in good conscience promote Scott Roofing to my friends. I will be passing this message along also in Google reviews. read more

We called Scott Roofing Co. for an estimate on replacing our roof. Our renters told us they came out, but they never called with the estimate. Two weeks after they came out, I had to call about our estimate. The roofer who did the estimate called us back later and tried to convince us there is more damage than there really is, but still gave us no estimate. He said he'd call us back with the estimate, but it's been another couple of weeks and nothing. They really must not want business because they can't even get an estimate out! read more

We got a quote for the roof from this company for 10,000.00 signed the agreement and when the roofer came out said so much more needs to be done than what was quoted. Gave us a quote of 29,000. With a signed agreement we have tried to call the owners numerous times with no response back. BUYER BEWARE! Sales reps are selling other products as well a total nightmare of a company read more

Scott Roofing is the ONLY roofing company I will ever call. They are AMAZING. Their Customer Service skills are great too!!! Jim M came out this morning and took care of a few issues we had. Our appointment was for 7 AM and that doorbell was ringing at 7 AM, so he was right on time and that's much appreciated. They are professional and when the time comes that we need to replace our tile roof, Scott Roofing is the company I plan to use. I prefer quality and a longer warranty which they provide, rather than these cheap companies that might be able to do it for $1,000 cheaper, but only offer a 2 year warranty and their custom service stops when your check is cashed. NOT SCOTT ROOFING, as their customer service is ALWAYS there for you and they truly care. Professionals and if you don't use them, good luck. Happy leaking!! I am giving two stars in efforts to be fair, though I am quite upset as I write this review. The positive aspect of my experience is that the roof looks great, when the roof was being fixed, everyone was nice to me, very sweet to my children who were curious about what was going on, etc. Only found a few nails here or there when they finished, they cleaned up well. The negative aspect of this experience for me: we were having our entire roof repaired due to hail damage, and the claims process was confusing and stressful for us as first time homeowners. The claim money goes from our insurance company to our mortgage company (the bank), and then the bank releases the money to us in waves so we can pay Scott Roofing. This made me very nervous to have work done on our home without all of the money in pocket, ready to give to the roofing company. However, both the roofing company and the bank assured us this was normal, just about everybody who had roof damage had to do it this way if they had a mortgage. Fast forward to a month later. I am waiting on the invoice so I can fill out the final piece of paperwork to send to the bank so we can pay the balance and be done with it. I've been waiting for two weeks for an invoice to come in the mail as promised, but no luck. I call, and they tell me they can just email it to me (not sure why they didn't just do that in the first place). So they email it, I fill out the final paper work. It is a lien release that must be signed and notarized by the company, so I call and ask if there is a physical location I can bring the paperwork to have it signed and notarized. They give me the address (about 25 minutes from our house) but inform me that the notary is only there three days a week and not there that day. That week our entire family got strep throat, I had bronchitis, my son had a double ear infection, and then we all the stomach flu the next week. As you can imagine, taking this form to them was the last thing on my mind, as towing three sick children under the age of 3 around town was not going to happen. We had never all been sick like that before. This was still our responsibility to take care of and I understand that- this is something I could have done better in a more timely fashion- asked a friend or relative to drop it off or fax it, etc. I certainly accept responsibility for that. Here is the part that makes me the most upset. After getting an unusually large gas bill right around the time that all of this was happening, we looked in our heater closet and found that the exhaust pipe had been dislodged during the roof repair. We had been using our heater for an entire month with our heat closet filling up with dangerously hot air right next to my one year old's bedroom! My husband went on the roof to see if he could fix it, but the pipe had been caulked and sealed in place by the roofers so that it was impossible to lift and put back into place. My husband called Scott Roofing four times, spoke with four different people who took a message and promised to call back, and nobody did. For three nights we slept in a freezing house with no heater (using it was a serious fire hazard) and our kids barely slept as the house was so cold. They came out today to fix it, did not once apologize to me for the mistake, and were pushy to me about getting the payment to them. By this time my husband had faxed them the last piece of paperwork, and the supervisor of Scott Roofing refused to sign it, stating that the form claimed that he had already been paid. I tried to explain to him that the form was merely releasing the lien once he actually received his final payment, but he did not see it that way. After all of this time with all of the roofs in Phoenix being battered by the hail storm, I could not believe that he was unfamiliar with this type of paperwork! Even his associate who had come with him claimed that he was familiar with it, confirmed what I was telling him, and I even called the bank while the roofers were there to confirm. He still would not sign it. So, per the bank's request, he typed up his own form on his own letterhead and faxed it to them. This sent me the message that he did not trust me, and the fact that he did not even apologize to me about our heater, which could have caught our house on fire, made me extremely upset. Our house is 50 years old and the vent to our heater closet goes right into our one year old son's bedroom! It got so hot in the heater closet that the duct tape melted off of the ducting. This is not acceptable, and in my opinion, if you cause a problem that endangers the life of your customer's child (really their entire family), the least you can do is have somewhat of an apologetic attitude. Instead, he seemed primarily focused on the payment and how he was going to get it as soon as possible (without going through the standard process required by the bank). Very, very upset. read more

Presently trying to find a reputable roofing company to put on a new roof that has a predominance of great reviews but so far not that successful. Out of curiosity, I wanted to see how Scott Roofing rated now as we unfortunately had a very poor experience with them several years ago. I was hoping there would be a majority of stellar reviews but unfortunately overall, they are not too good. To summarize, We had damage from storms and they stated they found the problem but similar to other's experiences, we kept getting leaks but no positive results. I never left a review in the past, but after reading many of them, I felt it was time to write one as this may help others avoid a negative client experience. Something I learned that I was not aware of at the time is that if you are within the 2 year warranty and having difficulty with a company, you can file a complaint with the Arizona "ROC" ( Registrar Of Contractors) and they may be able to rectify the problem. Yeah they definitely need a zero star rating. Their quote was twice as much as the other three I got. My house is a 1600sq and a two story. They quoted me almost $14k. The average of the other quotes was $8k for reference. I ended up telling the guy to leave because I was insulted that they would try to take advantage of me like that. read more

We hired Scott to re-roof our Tempe home in 2014. The estimate process was uncomplicated and pleasant. After signing the contract, we chose our new tile. Scott did a superb job tearing off the old roof; they had a large crew; cleaned up after the work was completed; returned to resolve a concern without complaint. They communicated regularly during the work cycle. We have had no problems with our new roof. I especially appreciate that with the warranty Scott provided, we were able to reduce our homeowner's insurance premium. read more

i called to get an estimate in August for roof repair, lady on phone very nice and courteous. Estimate was for entire roof even though i only needed felt replaced underneath tile. Insurance company was willing to work with Scotts Roofing even though that was another battle.Called person that gave estimate 4 times, and each time he promised he would call claims dept..Claims dept called tech 3 times and no response. I look foolish arguing with claims dept to fix roof and roofer cant call them back..4 months later and now i have to find a new roofing company.Might be alttle to late now...thanks a lot Scotts Roofing!!! read more

Due to a microburst, I metal panel on top of my roof was pulled up. I know that now, but when I saw the piece of metal standing upright, I freaked out a bit! I called Scott Roofing. A gentleman(can't remember his name but found out he lived in my town of Surprise) came out to take a look. He was honest, professional, quick and kind. Being a single mom, I really appreciate all of those qualities! He fixed the problem and even did a quick inspection of my roof. My experience was well over a year ago, but I would call them first before calling any other roofing company. read more

Had a leak (small) wasn't sure what was going on. Called Scott Roofing and since it wasn't raining they said they would come out 5 days from when I called they also gave me a time of 8:00am. He came out on the day of and arrived at 7:30am (early). Weird no one comes early. He went up on the roof took several pictures heard him move some tiles around and came back down. Explained everything to me. Showed me pictures that some of the tiles moved around and the gap was most likely the problem. So he just fixed it. He told me what to look for in the future and gave me a tube of sealant just in case. Asked him for a bill and he said 'no charge'. Terrible service! Well, let's say there was no service. I scheduled an appointment and the worker just did not appear. I tried to call the main line several times, the ladies on the line could not even find my name in their database and they'd been transferring me to different voicemails. We had to have our entire tile roof redone because of multiple problems including tiles sliding down. Earl came out and spent over well over an hour on the roof taking pictures to show us exactly what he had found. When presented the estimate we were in shock, but knew it had to be done. Earl came out 2 more times, at my request, to go over & explain everything again. Both additional times were in his day off unknown at the time to me. Our job supervisor Eddie Cortez was great as well, kept everything running smooth & answered daily questions. All of the workers were a great bunch of guys! Amazed me how at the end of the day everything was picked up & not left behind. We are very picky & detail oriented people & they did an EXCELLENT job! Well worth your money!!! read more

I just had a new roof put in a few months ago. The guy who came out to give me the estimate (Michael) was very nice and very professional. His estimate came in a little higher than some of the others but he did a very good job of explaining why. The install took half the time they said it would and it looks great. But what was really impressive was when my roof started leaking during the rain two days ago. I contacted their offices at 4:45, left a message for the lady who handles warranty issues. She called me back at 7:00 am the next morning saying she submitted a work order. At 9:00 their repair guy called me saying he was on his way and 9:30 the leak was fixed. No headache, no issue. This company stood behind their work and this day and age, that's hard to find. Five stars! All day long! read more

My home suffered roof damage due to a wind and water storm that occurred back in early January. I gathered quotes from different roofing contractors to make the necessary repairs. I was advised from all three contractors that I needed to replace my entire roof. After meeting all of the roofing estimators I decided to go with Scott Roofing because their estimator (Brad Z) was very friendly and clearly knew what he was talking about. The experience got even better when superintendent Brad Robertson came with his team to replace my roof. Brad Robertson was very knowledgeable, patient, and very professional. He answered all of my questions. This was my first experience replacing an entire roof so I had lots of them. Also, he would always show up on time and would call me daily to give me a progress report of how the process was going. Brad took photographs before and after the roof process and presented them to me when the job was complete. He made sure there was no mess and left the exterior of the house looking very clean. Scott Roofing was not the cheapest company in town, but they did an amazing job. They always say " you get what you pay for" and with Scott Roofing it's so true. This was the worst experience of my life. This was a simple one story house that needed a new roof. It took them a month to finish and the price went way over the estimate. The job should have only taken a few days. There was NO communication. They showed up when they were not supposed to be there. They made a mess of my pool with lots of rusty nails. They covered up the furnace vent and almost asphyxiated everybody in the house later that night. They took my ladder and broke my window. They damaged my rain gutter. The foreman in charge changed several times. When the job was finally finished, I tried to contact them about some issues. They ignored me. I had to report them to the Arizona Registrar of Contractors. Finally they came out to fix the issues. Please find another company for you needs. read more

No complaints, he was very prompt, polite, and he answered our questions well. The roofer came by to provide an estimate for some roof damage we knew about from our house inspection. He took a look and told us that our damage was so minor and mainly cosmetic that it wasn't worth it to repair the damage. Very grateful for his honesty and his trouble. I had a small leak so I called three roofing companies for bids starting with Scott. Scott was the highest by at least ten times because they claimed I needed a re-roof when in fact I just needed a minor repair. I was told the underlayment is only good for 8-10 years when in fact it is good for at least 15-20 years. I think these guys are out to make serious money by deceiving customers. Please use caution and make sure you receive other opinions considering what I experienced. read more

Well first of all they should be a zero star option. Well where do I start first of all I believe this company really like to take advantage of senior citizens. They had put a new roof on my parents house last year. And during a storm after they had put the new roof on the 2 inch silver tape that they tried to seal the air conditioner back together with came apart. So when we noticed that there was this silver tape flapping in the wind we called our Ac guy that installed the unit originally and has been working on our entire families air conditioners for well over 10 years he is very well trusted and would not sell you or make you pay for anything that is not necessary. So when he came and inspected what Scotts had done to my parents air conditioner he was just blown away that they would attempt to try to do close a two inch gap with just some silver tape. It took him and one of his associates a crowbar and the proper materials to seal off the air conditioner so I called Scott to let them know what was going on the first words out of their mouth were why didn't you call us well it was an air conditioning issue not a roofing issue so I submitted copies of the invoice to have the air conditioner put back into place properly they refuse to pay it and they had one of their quote unquote customer reps out to look at the job that was done and of course the unit was put back into place properly with the silver tape and a material called Pookie and screws and the gentleman tried to tell us that they would never have just left it with the silver tape He said they use this stuff called superputty and when we asked our AC tech about super putty he said that he had never heard of that in his life and when the man came down off the roof and saw that the job has been repaired properly he just copped a serious attitude when we started asking questions and just got in the truck and drove off never did get reimbursed for the work that are AC tech had done to fix their mistake so buyer beware I would stay away from Scott's roofing but on a other note if you ever need an honest good ac guy call foothills mechanical and ask for Ken he probably has to be the most honest person in the AC industry oh and also one more thing we had Ken submit pictures to us on how they left the unit with just the silver tape nothing else and we gave those pictures to Scott's roofing and they claim their guys would have never done work like that so buyer beware. read more
