It was my first time at Yogurt Island and I was immediately struck by how beautiful the store was. Unique decor with elegant lighting, very boutique feeling. All customers wear plastic gloves to make your yogurt, which I appreciate. And I was surprised that the price of my yogurt was considerably less than another yogurt chain down the street that is lacking in ambience. The lady working there thanked me sincerely for coming in to try their yogurt, and her sweetness really moved me. I was given a card to get punched to get a free yogurt, which I have now used quite a few times. This is the only yogurt store I will go to now in the Coachella Valley!

The shopping center goes get busy so parking can be a little tight but it's convenient to get to from where I stay. The shop itself is immaculately clean which is a 10/10 A+ in my books. They have gloves at the front which is really smart so you don't accidentally make contact with any of the toppings. Some might say overkill but I appreciate the extra cleanliness measure. Also they are practicing what they preach here as this store is super clean and tidy! Counters were free of spills and nothing was sticky, a tough thing to accomplish at a desert bar. I loved all of the toppings and flavors they had here. The soft serve selection was impressive. Off the top of my head they had vanilla, chocolate, watermelon, banana, cookies and cream and cake batter to name a few yogurt flavors. I went with the cake batter which was a good choice in my books. For toppings they had wonderful selection, made it really hard to choose to be honest. I added mango, hot fudge, Nutella, cheesecake bites, Reece's, and some cherries. Man was this dessert delicious and filling. This is really an awesome spot to cool off in the summer or just when you are craving a sweet treat.

There was maybe 1 other set of people sitting eating their ice cream in there when we got going staring to get ours. My kids are 4 & 7 and this is actually their 2nd time experiencing a self serve ice cream place. They were very excited to get started making their own treats. Everything was going good until we got to the topping station (Remember we are the only ones using it) My kids were telling me and showing me what the wanted along with my reminding them not to point or touch anything. They need help being reminded since the are new to this and excited but they did a good job considering they are still new to it. Well the guy working came over while we were trying to get our ice creams together only to reach across and grab the spoons and keep setting them straight while we were using them. At first I thought maybe he was just trying to keep up with the place being cleaned but then I realized he was literally standing there the whole time with us using it and kept reaching over and grabbing the spoons. One time he almost touched our hands since we weren't even done with the spoons, I've never had something so rude or passive aggressive while getting a frozen yogurt. This was really unfortunate since I wanted to keep coming back but I don't think we will come to this location and be treated that way again. Maybe he only wants snowbirds there and not people with kids. I have no idea because I think getting frozen yogurt is a family friendly experience typically but it definitely wasn't for us today. Pretty disappointed

It was hot outside and I was craving ice cream, not just any ice cream but Cold Stone's. I decided to get the German Chocolate Cake in a waffle cone. So I ordered a large one. Big mistake! It took about an hour to eat it and it was almost the size of my head! The ice cream was so good. I remember seeing an ad about that flavor and I had to try it. No regrets except that the next time I will get the smaller one. It was so worth the price. The shop is nestled into a small cute shopping strip area. I love the looks of the outdoor area and the building. I do want to say that the inside is roomy but awkward in form. A few more tables would be great. I liked that they offer restrooms for customers. The music playing was nerve-racking! I want to suggest playing a variety of music like Walmart does so that all types of people feel welcome not just the younger generation. In La Quinta, there are many retired folks and Snow Birds and the music should lean toward that population in the area. I realize that all the nearby festivals reel in the younger population throughout the year, but those of us who live here full-time should feel welcome in our stores. Service was good and the ice cream server was very knowledgeable. I would suggest that the management train the staff to be more personable. The woman that waited on me acted like I was a burden, she did not smile, and I felt rushed. I had never ordered anything there before so I was confused about sizes, prices, and flavors. She acted as though I should know about their products. I also caught her glaring at me s though she did not like me or something. I always smile and she took the smile right off my face with her unprofessional attitude. Rude workers will chase the customers away. This is why I gave this location 3 stars.

Walked in happy with happy kids (no one else in there) met a Disney villain doing a half-a job of making a "cold stone creation". Cool. Yes, i'm being petty, but holy crap, have never felt like I was in trouble ordering ice cream ever in my life, until today.
