I was there twice in the past 3 weeks. The first time I was assaulted by the overwhelming smell of undiluted Fabuloso. I asked and the gal behind the counter told me they'd just cleaned the back.of the store. Second time I visited with my sister. Again, the supervisor stunk from the Fabuloso. And this time the 3 young people behind the counter looked as though they were being punished rather than serving yummy DQ products. I noticed one clerk digging stuff out from under her fingernails. Another customer asked if they could write HAPPY BIRTHDAY on a cake and the male behind the counter responded 'I think they can' as he motioned over his shoulder (yes, one of the ladies did). When we left, my sister said she had a hard time enjoying her blizzard because that woman with the long nails I'd seen digging under them had CONTINUED working on her ma inure and sis not atop and wash her hands before making the blizzard. How about training these young people in safe food practices and customer service, and finding a good cleaner that is not so offensively strong smelling? And maybe, like the food service that employed me, make it a requirement for your workers to have trimmed nails and maybe wear gloves when handling food. Our kids LOVE to get dairy treats here and we enjoy bringing them in when they get good grades for a treat. Excellent ice cream cakes are ready to go at any time, which are always yummy. Sometimes the service is on the slow side, the tables need cleaning, and also one of my restaurant pet peeves - there is no public restroom. All in all we will continue to stop in for frozen treats but we don't eat in as it is not the cleanest store. read more

My blizzard was amazing, the girls working were so sweet, and my order came out almost immediately after paying. The reason for the 1-star review is because of the temperature. We came in the store at around 9:30pm, and it felt like at least 80° inside the store. The poor girls working explained that the building has never had A/C. The portable cooler they had in the lobby was basically useless, so I can't imagine the temperature behind the counter. The employees were clearly tired and sweaty. This DQ is in my neighborhood. I take my kids about once or twice a month. They tend to be a little busy most of the time. What is making me write a review is the fact that I went in a few days ago and there was only one person working and she had a line out the door. She was incredibly busy and most of us, myself included, ordered for at least 3-4 people. The woman working had the place looking its cleanest I've ever seen it be and was beyond sweet, friendly and attentive. I received a DQ gift card; used it once successfully and when I tried to use it again it the help said their gift card machine (?) wasn't working so I had to pay cash. Went in 2 weeks later and tried to use card...same excuse, gift card machine wasn't working. I contacted DQ Headquarters and after much discussion...a waste of my time...Headquarters said the gift card was probably defective and they would send me a new one. Weeks later I received it and went to DQ yesterday and tried to use it...it was declined!!! I would never recommend to anyone to purchase a DQ gift card. I've contacted DQ Headquarters and asked that they refund the balance on the card. I doubt they will so now I'm stuck with a card I cannot use. I come from Washington state where we have many Dairy Queen's everywhere. I was disappointed to find them scarce in Palm desert vicinity. I wish they would grow them here! I can't go very long without my blizzard! The one on Washington could be better if they would fix the Orange Julius machine. But, they do make a wonderful, consistent and friendly Blizzard! If you haven't tried one you should! Snickers is my favorite. I've read some negative reviews on their help but I have never experienced that. Only good stuff! Came in to have a treat with my son . His hands got sticky and he asked to wash his hands so I asked them to use the restroom to wash his hands. Girl behind the counter says they don't have one .
