I sent my teenage kids in to get the strawberry's with Dubai chocolate and they charged them $52.00 for three cups. The chocolate was not melted, it was hard and it tasted like wax. What a rip off! And how can three small cups cost $52?!!

I was looking for an ice cream place and thought to stop by. I talked to a girl who worked here and she kindly recommended pistachio and Mexican vanilla if I wanted an authentic dessert. Both were great flavors. The vanilla was stronger flavor than normal and delicious. The portion was large but spoon/bowl kinda weak. Bringing a metal spoon could be helpful. napkins were empty and understaffed but overall a decent experience.

I've always loved coming here for some late night antojos but not anymore. I went in the other night around closing time and I understand wanting to go home but the way the girls were rolling their eyes. One looked like she wanted to cry.. 1. They need more help because it was busy and felt too much pressure on their own 2. They need better training I asked the younger girl for the code to the bathroom or the key. She stared at me said "the bathroom is actually closed now" and in the middle of her sentence turned around. I just found it very rude. The Dubai chocolate is also definitely not worth it.. so expensive and was really not all the good. There's better spots in the desert. read more

got a Dubai chocolate cup and the strawberries tasted expired. i mentioned this to the cashier Arlene and she said they were probably left over night sorry about that. I asked for fresh strawberries but instead was charged $16 . crazy I had gotten a spicy apple about a year ago that was expired and was hesitant of coming to this location. service was irritating. we asked for two orders of tostilocos in to-go containers. the young lady was haphazardly throwing the ingredients together in clear containers, she then asked us if we wanted a bag and we said yes. she then stacked the half closed containers on top of each other. obviously, they spilled and when we brought it to her attention she asked if we wanted napkins and was annoyed we asked for more of what spilled and basically threw a new bag at us when we asked for one. mind you this is all before paying, she then said to tie the bag tightly because they would continue to spill. situation could have been avoided entirely if she used the white containers they use for all their other more liquid snacks. did not appreciate the attitude and carelessness. not coming here again, very off putting. read more

Went in at 9:15PM, they close at 10pm- it was empty in there. Two young ladies were working there, one of them was sweeping and the other one was behind the counter cleaning. They see my boyfriend & I walk in, they look at each other neither one of them greeted us & the one sweeping tells the other girl "you got it?". The girl behind the counter walks to the back & as we are looking at the chalkboard, the girl sweeping continuous to sweep and around us too, does not say anything to us. Making us feel uncomfortable. The girl that left to the back comes out and asks if we are ready & my boyfriend says "no not yet" she walks away to the back and doesn't say anything. At that moment we decided to leave because it felt very unwelcoming. If you are going to be working, greet people you do not have to make a conversation with them but at least acknowledge them. I'd understand if it was at 9:45 I too would've been annoyed but do not make it obvious to the customers. I work at a 9-5 clinic, why would I get upset if a patient shows up at 4:15? This was the first time we went & will be the last time we ever go here. Ended up going to el super for snacks. read more

Preggers and craving just about all the goodies in here. Was having a hard time between churros locos or corn in a cup, while i was making up my mind i would see the girls preparing ceviche plates and it looked bomb. So anyway we went for the elote in a cup, my daughter got cotton candy ice cream and hubby frozen strawberries and cream (fresas con crema). everyone loved their items but of course i tried hubby's dessert and omg! Best fresas con crema i've ever had. Cant wait to go back for more! I was a regular customer here and the last time I went to the bathroom because I work nearby the lady who work there told me so rudely I wasn't allowed to use the restroom if I didn't buy anything I understand that I'm cool with that and I told her I'm a regular customer here and she said not right now she said it so rude. I let a lot of things slide there I saw one of the male workers make crapes while he was making the crape he scratched his balls and I made one of the women aware of what me and my husband saw.never coming here again they are so problematic and just overall rude. read more

Super friendly service! We were in the neighborhood looking for a scrumptious treat. We were about to give up, but thankfully we came upon La Michoacana. So happy we stopped by because the ice cream and Mangoneadas were delicious. I only say they "were" because they are no more. They have been gobbled up and are now peacefully resting in my gut. RIP. This place has sooo many options, not only does it have savory and sweet but they have food as well. Which is always a plus. They have great tortas, ceviche, and tamales. What tops this place off in its greatness is the fact that the customer service is impeccable, all the employees are very kind and helpful. Soooooo good!! I came out to Indio to visit my friend and we decided to stop here for some ice cream. I got the banana and birthday cake ice cream and all I can say is that it was creamy, rich and delicious! I could definitely taste the difference from the other Mexican ice cream chains I've been to. Even better is that this place is family owned and they hand-make all the ice cream, raspados, juices and everything. No wonder it was all so good! I wish I lived closer so I could go here more often! read more

Rice was crisp, light and flavorful. The Taco's were on the small size, they used the standard street taco sized corn tortilla. But the flavor was great once I added a pinch of salt. Service was quick, staff was congenial. If you're looking for authentic Mexican food, I would definitely put this one on your list. I will be going back to try some of the other fare, but crispy tacos, rice and beans pretty much some up my choice at Mexican restaurants. Mixed crowd with many brothers from down below the border. I saw all the favorable reviews on Yelp and was looking forward to my first visit at Casa Mendoza. Very chill & lively family owned Mexican joint in Old Town LQ. The place was kinda busy @6:30pm on Hump Night ~~ always a great sign when I see this. Felt more like a Sunday Evening. It took an hour to receive our meals. Ordered @6:45 arrived @7:45pm. Good thing the Chimichanga & Gauc apps arrived pretty quickly. The Gauc was Excellente. All their food was very good. But all our meals arrived cold/lukewarm. Took forever to receive our food and we knew for a fact it's because all our plates sat a while until we were served. The actual plates weren't even warm and the sizzling fajitas had sizzled out and lost its dazzle. Because it was still 95 degrees when dinner was finally served, our lukewarm meals were doable on a hot night. Everyone did enjoy their meals tho. I was very pleased with my Mahi Mahi in Garlic Butter Sauce. The refried beans were outstanding. The rice very good...and I made tacos with the 3 corn tortillas. But would have enjoyed it even more had all the food been a little warmer. I stuck with H2O but all margarita drinkers said their drinks were good and hit the spot on a warm night. The service in general was also inconsistent for our small party of 8. The Birthday Boy was a little frustrated and got up a few times from his throne seeking assistance -- such as missing tortillas for meals, water refills, extra napkins. We even had to wait longer than anticipated for them to acknowledge the bday boy with a celebratory bday song & sombrero...and the fried ice cream, which didn't include a candle. Tho we all enjoyed ourselves and time together...a 2 hour dinner at a Mexican joint on a Wednesday night wasn't what we anticipated. Especially with one restless 7 year old ;-) But everyone working at Casa Mendoza is very friendly with great attitudes. Hostess team, waiters, servers & runners too. So that made up for the spotty service, just a little bit. Since I'm closer to the other Casa Mendoza in Palm Desert, I'd go there in the future with my wife, and order the exact same thing. But hope for much better service and warmer food.

They literally skipped us to give help out the people behind us with their order and gave her an application for the job, like whuuut. Also they just threw some girl in on the spot, she couldn't even turn on the blender for a damn smoothie. Got a chance to try mangoneada (made with ice cream but you can order to be made with rasoado instead. Chuncks of mango were decent . We also got a piña Loca, it was delicious. My older son had a torta with pork meat, he ate it really quick... I didn't even got a chance to steal him a piece. Lol read more
