My sister and I came here on a Saturday night. It was empty, with no customers. It was a small little shop that reminded me of the 80s candy stores. We ordered a 4 pack. 4 scoops of ice cream since that was the special. The flavors were interesting and unique. Majority of the flavors that I would like at a regular ice cream shop, didn't taste like that here. I didn't really care for the ice cream. They've got it shakes slushy's ice cream, ice cream bars, banana splits and Chamoy bowls. Very impressed with this location and there selection. I love how fresh the slushy are. Yep I said fresh. They squeeze the oranges right there in front of you. I got an orange slush with coconut and pineapple ice cream blend I to it. YUM! Service from the cashier! She was stuck up and being weird for no reason acting like I've been there before and should know everything , she definitely made my first time experience horrible and to top it off my ice cream fell from it not being properly on the cone and I told them then they asked if I wanted a cup like for what ? Ice cream was good, I used to love this spot when they were located inside of the Indio Mall. However, I went with a group of my friends 30 minutes prior to closing. And the worker was so rude, she rolled her eyes at my friends and I while she was taking our order. We were in and out of there in less then 10 minutes. I didn't appreciate the unnecessary sass. If an establishment is open till 9:30 then why wouldn't you serve costumers until then. I would understand if we arrived 5 minutes prior to closing but we we arrived with plenty of time. Upon arrival she immediately told us that they were only serving ice cream scoops to go. But the employee had her friends sitting inside with lemonades. Sorry for interrupting their socializing time while they should be serving costumers. Will not be returning due to poor costumer service. I love this place! When I was small with my family we would get our dessert after eating other food. It's the best place ever the food and service is amazing and the ambience too. But the thing is it was at old mall and the old mall decided to close down so they close down about two years ago worth more years actually and they were gone and I wasn't able to find them until not long ago and I was so happy and once I got my first ice cream, I was so happy I ice cream shop and saw their new decorations and stuff. It was so pretty and so cute and cool. It was a wonderful experience. My dad would get it all the time. He would also get the banana covered with the chocolate and peanuts me and my mom and sister really like the soft serve in a top chocolate covered . Their hot Cheetos and Tostilocos are amazing too!! Their service is incredible. Like I said at the mall, the owner I believe used to work there all the time and he would do his stuff and serve customers super fast from afar. I see him serve of the customers and when there were no one else he would be cutting lemon doing his task, mopping super quick so he would just be standing there waiting for customers not much people knew about his business is the mall wasn't that packed but now his business is wonderful I believe anyways when I went the girls there served me so fast. The lemonade was bomb. They served really quick. They had accidentally got an order wrong but we paid for it because we wanted another one and I thought we were gonna wait two more minutes, but it felt like 10 seconds that they made it. Anyways, I feel like I'm repeating myself. On vacation driving on I-10 and felt like some ice cream...yelped "Ice cream near me"...this little gem came up...so delicious, reasonably priced & great flavors! I got a 2 scoop waffle cone with pistachio & cappuccino chip...both were very good...only advice I have for the owners is to make your waffle cones a tad bit thicker...the gentleman who served me gave me a cup to put it in because I was worried about it dripping in my truck...I put the ice cream into the cup and the waffle cone cracked...but not to worry...I used the broken pieces like chips and dipped them into the ice cream... It took forever to get anything out not because of the employee it was because no one was there to help her and she was so backed up. I recently discovered that Better Ice Cream used to be the small little ice cream store located in the Indio fashion mall some years ago; they had the best soft serve around! I was telling my wife how great I remember that ice cream being when we decided to take a trip. Before making the 25 minute drive from the La Quinta cove to north Indio(for soft serve) I checked store hours online and even called to double check closing time; the girl on the phone said they closed at 9:30pm...cool! So my wife and I got there at 8pm, asked for a soft swirl and the young lady stated they didn't have any. I went on to ask what she meant by that and said replied with "yeah we don't have any because we already cleaned the machine". I found that to be odd and bad for business considering my request for ice cream was shut down AN HOUR & HALF before closing time. So we decided not to purchase anything & left. My wife is a server so she understands the importance of getting things ready for closing time but denying customers AN HOUR & HALF before close is just flat of ridiculous.
