I got caught in construction traffic which routed all cars into this parking lot and after being stuck on Hwy 111 for 40 minutes, I decided I'd take a break and get some froyo. It was my first time at Yogurt Island and I was immediately struck by how beautiful the store was. Unique decor with elegant lighting, very boutique feeling. All customers wear plastic gloves to make your yogurt, which I appreciate. And I was surprised that the price of my yogurt was considerably less than another yogurt chain down the street that is lacking in ambience. The lady working there thanked me sincerely for coming in to try their yogurt, and her sweetness really moved me. I was given a card to get punched to get a free yogurt, which I have now used quite a few times. This is the only yogurt store I will go to now in the Coachella Valley! read more

I normally don't have a sweet tooth but this frozen yogurt self serve shop sure hit the spot! Located in La Quinta right off of highway 111 and Washington this spot was easy to find. The shopping center goes get busy so parking can be a little tight but it's convenient to get to from where I stay. The shop itself is immaculately clean which is a 10/10 A+ in my books. They have gloves at the front which is really smart so you don't accidentally make contact with any of the toppings. Some might say overkill but I appreciate the extra cleanliness measure. Also they are practicing what they preach here as this store is super clean and tidy! Counters were free of spills and nothing was sticky, a tough thing to accomplish at a desert bar. I loved all of the toppings and flavors they had here. The soft serve selection was impressive. Off the top of my head they had vanilla, chocolate, watermelon, banana, cookies and cream and cake batter to name a few yogurt flavors. I went with the cake batter which was a good choice in my books. For toppings they had wonderful selection, made it really hard to choose to be honest. I added mango, hot fudge, Nutella, cheesecake bites, Reece's, and some cherries. Man was this dessert delicious and filling. You can't go wrong with fro-yo! I thought it was odd that Yogurt Island still requests guests to wear masks, and in addition you have to wear gloves in order to proceed through the line to get fro-yo. I appreciate the precautions but I think the gloves may be excessive. The three stars is focused on the fact that a lot of the machines didn't have flavors and there wasn't a great variety of flavors amongst the ones that were available. The pricing is decent, it's close to some shopping and restaurants. The best part is it hits the spot! read more

In response to the Jackie J. review: I find this review very inaccurate. The immigrant couple that runs this are reasonably friendly. How much customer service do you expect from a self-serve buffet, anyway?! They are going very far to sanitize, maintain Social distances, and they wiped down the checkstand and scale after each customer. They make you don gloves when you come in. Wow! If you want toppings, this place has got 'em! They have at least 10+ different cereals (located in the nifty red dispensers toward the back) and lots of fruit toppings. Also, you have to ask for the whipped cream --- very worth it! There is nothing too special about their froyo flavors though... None of them were very exotic and most were just plain fruit flavors. They did, however, have pistachio, which is one of my favorites. I love that I can stop here after a late dinner since they don't close until 11:30 PM, on Saturday that is. I'm not sure about other days. This place is popular w/ teenagers; when I walked in at 10:30 PM, the place had 10 or so guests still. Their dining area is very welcoming. There were flat screen TVs at a few of the tables which definitely made me feel right at home. They had Shark Tale playing when I went. This is a cute little froyo shop. I recommend it! read more

This is my new favorite yogurt place! Went a little before closing tonight, and the experience was great. There were so many options from the yogurt to the toppings. Love this place. We used to go to Tutti Frutti's all the time, then we discovered this place and it became our #1 favorite yogurt shop. They have more flavors and more toppings, not to mention a better reward thing. Basically instead of the buy 10 get 4oz free or whatnot they do it by an amount of money you earn based on weight- so you can save up to get how ever much you want free, and they put the running total on your little reward card. I DO however think Tutti Frutti is cleaner, but I'm not sure if that's because it's more brightly lit or because Yogurt Island has so much traffic going through constantly it's hard to keep up. Best frozen yogurt in town! Love frozen yogurt and have tried practically every place in the desert, this place by far is the best tasting yogurt! It's got more toppings than any other place and more flavors too. I'm a fan of their vanilla, pistachio, peanut butter, and tart. The only gripe I have about this place is that I wish it were bigger.
