Pastrami hamburger and apple pie shake
Jane A.

My quarter pounder with cheese, fries and chocolate shake was very good! I forgot to say no pickles but they were good! My son had the pastrami hamburger and he liked but says tomato was too sweet! Great service and couldn't believe how fast our burgers were done (Chili's takes longer and sometimes its raw)! The restaurant looks nice and they were busy!

Inside is spacious

Wow! This place is actually pretty good! The outside is very unassuming but inside it's fairly big and spacious. We came on a Friday afternoon during Spring Break and a line quickly formed behind us. The family pack is a great deal at $24.99 for 4 burgers, 4 fries, and 4 sodas-- plus you can upgrade to a shake for only $2 more per each drink upgraded. My husband loved his French dip; best French dip he has had in Reno. We are in love with the value and flavors here!

Two orders of a side of fries

Eating at Scoopers is either a hit or a miss and unfortunately, our recent visit was a bit of a miss. We ordered a Matterhorn burger, two Bad Dogs and a couple of fries plus drink. My brother enjoyed his Matterhorn burger and we all liked the fries, albeit a little over-salted, but the Bad Dogs we ordered seemed a little charred. I don't know what it is about the hotdogs at Scoopers but the cook like to cremate the heck out of them. The service always good over at Scoopers, they've increased the prices but the portion sizes is still satisfying; they haven't gone the McDonald's route yet; if only they can cook a decent hotdog.

large, open dining area food was out fast very clean lots of choices for food and drink specials run frequently friendly

There was a hair on the fries not mine (my hair is long and braided)

Hair in fries. Got taxed on cold ranch. .75 cent for one regular size ranch cup came out to .81 cents for ranch cup is ridiculous. I have never been taxed on purchasing condiments. Food is good but service and employee mannerism is terrible. Especially the cashier today Saturday 11:35 am

Hawaiian burger and a gingerbread shake.

I'd never stopped here before but for sure I will come back again and again. Conveniently located south of the shipping center that has Savers and Joanne Fabrics, alas Harbor Freight is gone. But this center is south of all those places, hard to find a parking spot. Maybe due to time off day? Beauty school? Record shop? Anyway, well worth the tour around the lot to find a space. My Hawaiian burger had pineapple and bacon and cheese and it was cooked to perfection! It was REALLY hard to decide what shaker to get but I made a good choice! Gingerbread. ESP with the Holly Daze coming!

Solid spot. I've been to the drive in one both are pretty decent. Banana shakes are bomb

I will forever recommend Scoopers to anyone that I know. I have been a huge fan since I was little. My grandmother used to take me to grab a milkshake and cheeseburger in her 1977 Monte Carlo. It was always one of our favorite things to do together, and I continue the tradition still. The burgers are SO good! And everything else too if I'm being honest. There really isn't one bad thing on the menu. Today, I had the Sgt. Cheddar burger with crispy fried onions, bourbon sauce, pickles, tomato, and shredded lettuce. I am so happy that exists on the menu because I cannot stop ordering it, along with the French fries that are almost perfect every time. They can be a little too salty at times, but they're still really good and salt can be dusted off. The service has gone through its ups and downs over the years at both locations, but for the most part they have had great people on staff. One of my favorite things about Scoopers has always been the classic soda signs and other artwork around the walls of each location. Always something cool to look at.

Onion rings large

Definitely the best milkshakes in town. There are so many flavors and it's just the right consistency. But, I wasn't as big of a fan of their food. I got the chicken sandwich which was greasy and falling apart. Onions rings were just okay. Burgers looked better than my sandwich, should have probably gotten that.

Bradley K.

Actually a pretty juicy burger. Got the Sgt. Chedder with an extra patty. Definitely enough meat, no need for the extra patty. Great tasting burger. Burger was pink on the inside but unevenly cooked. Raw towards the edge. Wife got the bacon burger. The Matterhorn I believe. Another taster choice. Chili fries were pretty good too. Service was good. I do want to say that they closed at 8 and we got there at 7 so I don't know if our food was rushed on the grill or what but my burger could use a little more time on the grill. Also they stopped taking orders at 7:20ish-7:30. Man there has to have been a total of 10-12 people that couldn't put there order in due to coming in after that time. I get closing on time but I would have to say that there was definitely money left on the table. Not my restaurant, not my problem but just some things that I noticed.

Lettuce and Tomato, and 2 pickle slices!

Yikes. Where do I start...ordered 2 double cheeseburgers with bacon, comes with LETTUCE and TOMATO :) Got home, got 1 burger. Won't be back.

Two patties smashed between two slices of melty American cheese .. I forego other toppings so I reallly get the taste and it was delicious. I've been wanting to come here for a long time, as I learned about their story on instagram. The husband travels from Vegas every Thursday for the weekend to cook up some delicious burgers for us Reno folks. His wife who I think took our order was so amazing to cook my patties and throw them on a gluten free bun I brought. I ate one French fry because they are battered but oooooh almost work getting sick just to eat them. My husband better thank me for putting this on his radar. We will absolutely be back.

Before you go in, there is signs that says expect a 20 minute wait or more for a burger. If that is an issue for you, this isn't the spot for you. I've gone here a few times. The most recent time with my parents and aunt. I was a bit skeptical taking them to a dive bar for a burger since I wasn't sure how they would react to it. I didn't know until after the meal that they had a whole back section that would have been a lot better of an experience for them. They have a lot of tables and room back there whereas the front is either a bar, one table, or more a a lounge set up. There is also a outdoor area, but it had been a bit windy and sprinkling throughout the day so that isn't an option. I've done the Frenchified burger and the chile burger. Both times i opted for the fries over the chips and feel like I need to try the chips. Burger comes with two patties, a great bun, than the rest is up to you on which you choose. The fries are what I would consider shoe string fries, but maybe slightly thicker. I'm usually not a fan of shoestring fries, but I polished them off easily both times. My parents and aunt are harder to please. They like ingredients that speak for themselves and don't like too much sauces. All 3 of them really enjoyed it and I'm sure they will all be back. They have been looking for a good burger in Reno and I think this was it for them.
