My guy did his research and wanted a leather jacket from Schott. So to Schott we went. We found street parking nearby and then were on our way to explore. The interior is industrial chic with exposed brick walls, wood & metal shelves and racks, and fab metal chandeliers. The store was quiet so we showed ourselves around and he tried on a few jackets. These are serious motorcycle jackets. There are many to choose from and it was a bit overwhelming. A knowledgeable staff member came over to help after assisting another shopper. He was truly knowledgeable and helpful, telling us about the different materials, styles, fits, finishes, zippers, and more...and how the different jackets would break in over time. He really helped us find the best fitting jacket for my guy's frame and needs - he went to the back a few times to check for the best size. We appreciated that he helped us find the best option, and did not push us into buying the most expensive option. My guy found his dream leather jacket, and we left happy campers. read more

I stopped by the Schott NYC store in San Francisco to check out some leather jackets for actual motorcycle riding. I was just shopping around at some brands and knew the name Schott but had never tried any of their jackets. From the moment I walked in, the staff was welcoming and I had the pleasure of being helped by Harlan, someone who actually rides. He took the time to get me properly sized and fitted, walking me through the features that really matter in a riding jacket which was invaluable. You can tell he knows what he's talking about and isn't just reciting sales pitch as he was very honest and down to earth and clearly cared about the product. Great jackets, insanely obnoxious sales people. A friend of mine was trying on A jacket and a second possibly jealous sales person started giving him a hard time about how he was holding the jackets. I originally came in to check out the new Schott engineer boots. Unfortunately, they weren't to my liking. I got to fit the beautiful Perfecto P613S in burgundy, however - a stunning piece. But I ended up walking out with a Perfecto 613 slim in horsehide (613SH). My third black Schott jacket and the second from this shop. So fortunate to have one of only three flagship stores in America right here in San Francisco. You can come in and try on one or more jackets from their huge inventory. I just bought another Schott leather jacket last night after getting a couple of gift certificates from my family for Christmas. I've been working with Stacey (a number of times) and she's been super, super helpful! On top of that: She knows a helluva a lot about jacket fit and patterns, leather, and Schott manufacturing, and if Schott corporate is reading this, they should pay a lot more attention to her ideas! For example, we both agree: More bi-swing shoulders! I really wanted to get the 543 last night; a waxy Buffalo delivery jacket with a "sunset" back, but it was just a bit tight in the shoulders, and I was a little gun shy about it. With bi-swing shoulders, it would have been perfect! Also more brown leather jackets, especially in interesting pull-up leathers or even pre-distressed. For a long time, I've fantasized that Schott would make a jacket like the Levi's (Levi's Vintage Clothing) 1930s Menlo jacket, which would be very popular. The Storm (P673) is also a great example of a brown nubuck jacket that rocks. Anyhow, I love Schott jackets and will continue to be a good customer going forward. I work a couple blocks away from this location, always loving the pieces in their window displays. I've been in the market for a leather jacket for the past three years now since my former, thrifted, vintage leather finally fell apart beyond repair (it served me well though, RIP!). Every time I hit up a thrift store, I ALWAYS hit up the jacket section to see if there might be a good replacement, but I could never find the right one for me. I decided it was time to start looking for new leather. I walked into Schott's after falling in love with one of the Moto-jackets on display. The space has a warm, inviting, industrial feel. There is a great full-size mirror where you fall in love with yourself sporting all those cool jackets. You will want to own all of them. I tried on a few styles with the help of the friendly and knowledgable staff. I decided the 626VNW was destined to be mine, although the cropped lambskin 218W was a close second. Now, I am not one who typically spends $$$ on one particular item of clothing (as you might have surmised - I do love my thrift scores), but I AM someone who will invest in quality. And this is indeed a quality investment (made in the USA to boot). I waited for their Black Friday deal as well as used a generous cash gift to help offset the cost. But honestly, I would have eventually bought this anyway without those other two factors. It just would have taken longer to save up. read more

I am Deadhead and heard they had some Dead branded clothing yet they didnt want to let me in. The manager said it is private property and they didnt have to let me in. No real Dead fan would be caught dead in your mass manufactured bomber jacket with dead patches. They are rude and disrespectful. Avoid, Avoid, Avoid. Dead family - do not shop here. There are other "leather" jackets that cost less and "designer" jackets that cost more, but if you want the real deal, you come here. And yes, I know that you can buy a Schott for less if you're a smart savvy shopper, but I'm going to advise that you don't do that. On a top or full grain leather jacket, you don't want to have a single doubt on your mind -- "what if I got a different size," or "what if I got a different style? The only way to feel 100% confident about a jacket that will instantly boost your confidence 25% is to come into the store and try out several jackets until you find the one. I knew what size and model I wanted, but soon found a different jacket altogether that fit me way better. Cookie takes good care of you, is super accommodating, knowledgeable and hospitable. I bought my husband a peacoat from Schott NYC for his birthday. When he tried it on he noticed there was a hole in one of the pockets.
