I recently purchased bespoke boots from Al's Attire and I must say, the experience exceeded all my expectations. The staff's warm greeting and genuine passion for their craft were evident from the start. Their attention to detail and commitment to providing personalized service stood out immediately. The customization process was seamless.. I was able to choose every aspect of the design, from the leather color to the soles and heel heights, ensuring that the final product was exactly what I had envisioned. The craftsmanship was impeccable. It's evident that every pair is made with care and expertise, resulting in footwear that not only looks amazing but feels great to wear as well. If you're in search of high-quality bespoke footwear and clothing, look no further than Al's Attire. I can't recommend them highly enough and will definitely be returning in the future to purchases a new bespoke purse or handbag and a dress! I'm addicted!

Al's is the cornerstone of class in San Francisco's historic North Beach neighborhood. I was very happy to support these local artisans over some random retail suit slingers, even if it meant spending a little more, and MY GOD did they knock it out of the park with this beauty! Al is a pro and it was a true pleasure working with him to concoct the perfect suit design to fit my wedding needs. I had a very specific color in mind and of course Al had the perfect fabric. I felt like a kid in a candy store, flipping through his book of swatches, pin pointing the perfect lining. Al guided me through all of my stylistic options and in the end, I felt like we made something truly unique. Not only is the needlework top notch, but the leatherwork is superb too! I couldn't resist designing and ordering some custom boots to go with my fit. Needless to say, the end result was glorious, and I walked the isle in slick, fresh leather boots and a truly dapper two-piece suit radiating my signature color.

Al's Attire is, should be, a national treasure! Seriously, this is a retail experience like no other. The minute you walk in you'll be arrested by the aroma of leather. The multitude of colourful bolts of fabric that line the tops of merchandise, shirts pants suits, dresses, shoes , and hats. The ready to wear merchandise alone would impress anyone. But it's what lies in the stockroom, the custom merchandise that has been specially crafted for various clients that would impress you. You will definitely get the sense that something very creative, unique is going on. Your imagination will be your only limitation. Al Ribaya, the owner proprieter, has ben dressing me immaculately since the opening of this store. Some of the pieces have been off the rack but a majority of them have been custom made pieces for various special events I have attended in the past. When ever you wear Al's Attire, people will comment this is a fact. Get ready to be interrogated as to the origin of your outfit or singular piece. Also, make sure you give yourself and Al's Attire enough time to craft your one of kind piece. Get ready to really live and wear your ultimate dreams!

... came back in 2024 and they're better than new! Thanks Renee ;)

I love this place. If you can save up some time and money it's so worth the bespoke experience.

Als is pretty magical. First of all, they're responsive over email! Second of all, Al is honest, perhaps to a fault. I was prepared to spend $650+ on custom shoes to recreate my wedding shoes which were too tight from the day I bought them. Al was the only person who was able to perfectly stretch them so they fit like new, and only charged $25 for the pleasure. He let my dog hang out with Pepper, their terrier, while my husband and I browsed. And the entire vibe was entirely unpretentious for a custom clothing shop. Plus the ready made stuff on the floor was gorgeous, and reasonably priced for the impeccable quality. His assistant Mariela is a gem. I hope I'm remembering her name right!

I had such a great experience at Al's Attire. They came highly recommended from boat loads of hip, respectable friends who place a high premium on vintage duds, and they did not disappoint! Al and the team were super welcoming, responsive and attentive from the first moment through the door and we had a great time shooting the breeze and pontificating on suits and custom footwear. Ultimately we put them up to designing and building a pair of custom Beatle boots for my wedding suit, and it was probably the best decision I made the whole wedding. I honestly don't know - - - - all about vintage shoes, boots, or dress shoes more generally and they went right to work fitting me for a last and wringing the required specifications out of me. We did an exhaustive google image search on all the parameters and at the end of the day I was like "honestly, I really just want a pair of boots that looks like I've been wearing them for years, like these ones" which turned out to be John Lennon's actual shoes on auction at Soetheby's for millions of dollars. At that point, it was like "- - - - all that noise, for $700 we damn well better make John Lennon's actual shoes" hahaha which we did and they came out great! There's so much about a wedding that centers around girls being frilly and enjoying their time with the hair and make up lady and for me, this was the one really nice thing that just felt great to wear. And everyone was right, custom Beatle boots was definitely the correct thing to wear with my vintage 1963 style Beatle suit. People were really impressed, and they continue to be really impressed. Since the wedding, I've been rocking them at public events (I'm a hip DJ that offers custom weddings, call me) and they never fail to get a gasp out of the audience. Thanks so much to Al and everyone else down there for running a tight ship and keeping a lot of these old styles alive like they are as modern as the day they were thought up. Here's a photo of the shoes fresh out the shop and us looking like it's actually 1963 in the wedding photos. Bonus: Me in the full get up with the walnut DJ coffin and the boots for private events. If you need anything custom made, Al is the tailor for you. I'd been looking for a camel coat for the past 2 winters. If I found one I liked, either it wasn't available in my size, or it was exorbitantly expensive. I finally decided to have one custom made for me. At Al's Attire. From the very beginning, it was a smooth experience. We first discussed what I wanted. I then booked an appointment for a fitting & to go over all the details. Picking the cut, the fabric, the lining, the buttons, etc. This was actually the first time I've ever had anything custom made for me, & I gotta be honest...it's a mad cool thing. It feels special. This will be the only coat of its kind. Love that. I was told it would take about 10 to 12 weeks. The price for one custom made camel hair coat? $630. Feeling like a rock star? Priceless. Al is the best. 5 stars.

After completely messing up the design that I asked for, the final product doesn't even fit me. They refuse to give me any of my money back.

They get a star just for that feature alone. They have everything you'd expect from a coworking space, with the added benefit of being located in Westfield Center. So there's no shortage of dining options. I can walk here, but if you take public transit, you're in luck: BART and underground MUNI are a few floors downstairs, and you have all of the Market Street surface lines as well. They have a dedicated, flexible event space down the hall from the coworking space. There's a climbing wall (!), phone booths, a nap room, and the usual kitchen and conference rooms. I don't know whether she is still there, but I toured pre-pandemic with Kimberly Monárrez. I was only there for a tour, on a day when I was visiting other coworking spaces as well, so I can't attest to how well the wifi did or didn't work. I'd say the way the space is set up and curated makes it attractive if you're a creative type who likes something different. This isn't a tech bro run-of-the-mill spot like Regus, NextSpace, or the now-defunct Sandbox Suites. Bespoke bills itself as a "Tech Retail Centered " space, but I felt the ambience and energy there would be just right for me; I'm an author and cultural producer. There's a broad range of seating assignments from which to choose, and the general feel of the space is light, expansive, inviting, and airy. And for me personally, an incandescent bulb always lights up inside me where there are dogs. I know how nutty it sounds, but I work far better when I have my little Rat Terrier with me. I teach professional development workshops and craft seminars for writers, and Bespoke has several classrooms here that would be perfect for renting. Alas, after all this, I can only dream about working here. At over $400/month for the Shared Desk access, it's not commensurate with my budget. One star off for that :-( Too bad they don't offer "COVID rates" or something, LOL. I've applied for some literary grants because I now have a book deal. If I get any grant funding, I'm hoping I can manage at least a few months here. The atmosphere alone would help push me to my manuscript's finish line! In the interim, SPACES on Third & Mission is offering some terrific deals right now because they've been so empty during the past 16 months. That is a nice place, too, and worth a look, but it's a more austere space. No dogs and no climbing wall! :-P Not really geared for creatives, IMO. I never got to do a Bespoke trial day, so if you give this place a look, ask about that and try to take advantage of it...before SF goes into a new (Delta-variant) lockdown.

The Bike Fit Earlier this year, I decided to get back into cycling after a long hiatus. I had been commuting on a 20-year-old steel bike, but quickly realized it was agonizing on rides longer than an hour. I worked with Ari at Bespoke to fix this. He patiently interviewed me, measured me, and used Retül pressure mapping to revolutionize my position. He modified my old bike, set me up with new shoes, and dialed in a saddle that finally worked. While the tech is impressive, Ari's instincts are sharper; I get the sense he could nail a perfect bike fit with just a tape measure and his eyes. Once I felt the difference, I wanted a new bike immediately. Ari actually urged patience. He encouraged me to ride the new fit for a few months--on my old bike, my trainer and on rental bikes--to validate the changes before we committed to a build. When i experienced back pain after some longer rides Ari realized it might not be a bike fit issue and referred to me to a bike focused physical therapist (Action Sports Medicine in Sausalito) who was able to accurately diagnose my situation and suggest exercises to remediate it, which worked! As a team they really changed my relationship to the sport. The Dream Bike The eventual build process was a true collaboration. I knew generally what I wanted, but Ari guided the specifics. I wanted a flagship machine and was willing to pay for it, but Ari consistently focused on value. He even talked me down from some unnecessary upgrades. In hindsight, his advice was always spot-on, avoiding the usual industry marketing hype. The result is a mixed-material Titanium and Carbon All-Road bike from Seven Cycles. I have two separate wheelsets (which Ari hand-built using Reserve carbon rims) to swap between road and gravel. We also collaborated on a custom scheme with Black Magic Paint in Portland, who perfectly color-matched the bottle cages and a Silca frame pump to the frame's carbon elements. The bike fits like a glove. I was out on a 6-hour ride recently and felt fresh enough to do six more. As a tinkerer, I've inspected the bike closely; the tolerances and assembly quality are flawless. Build Specs Frame: Seven Axiom (Ti/Carbon Mix) Groupset: SRAM Red AXS 2024 Fork: Parlee Gravel/Cross Fork (Custom Painted) Finishing Kit: Enve Paint: Custom by Black Magic Paint (Portland) Road Wheels: Reserve 34|37 (Hand-built by Ari) Gravel Wheels: Reserve 25|GR (Hand-built by Ari) Pump: Silca Impero (Custom Painted) Final Thoughts I noticed his computer background was Picasso's Guernica, which made sense--Ari is as much an artist as a master builder. Building this bike felt like an act of curation. Here is my advice for getting the best experience at Bespoke, which might carry over other custom builders people might work with as well: Responsiveness: Ari is incredibly responsive. He answered countless small questions during the build within hours. Don't hesitate to reach out; he makes time for you. Documentation: Keep a log. There are a hundred details in a custom build. Keeping your own notes and proactively sharing them ensures redundancy and prevents miscommunication. Collaboration: Working with Ari can be a gateway to the kind of bike building experience very few others can realize, but you are well served to be an active participant. Ari is a master, but treating this as a partnership rather than just a transaction yields the best results. Your engagement will pay off in the final product. I give Bespoke Cycles SF my highest recommendation. Ari didn't just build me a bike; he ushered in a new era of adventure in my life.

After countless online searches, Reddit threads, and YouTube videos, I looked up the closest shop and called ahead with a few questions. I really appreciate how patient and helpful he was, both on the phone and in person, especially with someone who doesn't know much about bikes. Great service, very approachable, and made the whole process easy. I'll definitely be coming back next time I need anything. Hoping this is the start of getting out on my bike.

I don't know, I failed math. But I know he found find that my right shoulder was 1.5 cm lower than my left. He also found the angle that my back curves. And every other measurement necessary to create the tux that is perfect for you. You'll come back for your first fitting and it will already be near perfect. Despite all of the materials being bought, handcut, and carefully constructed to you, he will still offer you your money back guarantee. If you are not happy with this fine italian tuxedo made for you, he will give you back the $2,000+ you paid. But of course you will be happy. Him and Lily will have a little banter about what needs to be fixed. (This is good I think, keeps Daniel humble.) They'll fix up the tuxedo one or two more times and you'll be good to go. It'll look great but when you wear it on your special occasion, you'll really notice that you're wearing a million bucks. Daniel is quite generous with his gifts and advice. I would ask him why? And he says it's because he likes me. Does he actually like me? Maybe, I sure hope so! Regardless, I like him and Lily enough to spend the most I ever have on a suit. And I am very happy with my decision. 100/10 would recommend.
