You'll be warmly greeted by Daniel, who is as idiosyncratic as he is confident. You will share your vision and Daniel will share his expertise. Praising your good ideas and candidly letting you know your bad ideas. We begin the measuring process... with a PROTRACTOR. What is he doing with it? Solving for y = mx + b? Finding a parabola? I don't know, I failed math. But I know he found find that my right shoulder was 1.5 cm lower than my left. He also found the angle that my back curves. And every other measurement necessary to create the tux that is perfect for you. You'll come back for your first fitting and it will already be near perfect. Despite all of the materials being bought, handcut, and carefully constructed to you, he will still offer you your money back guarantee. If you are not happy with this fine italian tuxedo made for you, he will give you back the $2,000+ you paid. But of course you will be happy. Him and Lily will have a little banter about what needs to be fixed. (This is good I think, keeps Daniel humble.) They'll fix up the tuxedo one or two more times and you'll be good to go. It'll look great but when you wear it on your special occasion, you'll really notice that you're wearing a million bucks. Daniel is quite generous with his gifts and advice. I would ask him why? And he says it's because he likes me. Does he actually like me? Maybe, I sure hope so! Regardless, I like him and Lily enough to spend the most I ever have on a suit. This review is a long time coming. I can't say enough good things about Daniel George and his amazing team. I got married in October, and I wanted to get a made to measure tuxedo for the day. I had only bought off the rack suits, so made to measure was a foreign concept to me. After reading online reviews, I decided to email Daniel George and set up an appointment. My first meeting was with Daniel George in SF. He walked me through the process and we discussed fabric options, and style. I had a good idea of what I was looking for, but Daniel provided some really good suggestions that turned out amazing. Daniel was also not overly pushy. He was transparent about pricing, and he put no pressure on me order anything that day. I put in my order for a tuxedo, a couple custom shirts, and a sport coat (for the rehearsal dinner) and scheduled my first fitting. Fast forward a few months and I go back to SF and this time meet with Ben, who I now believe is in charge of the SF shop. Ben was incredibly nice and personable, and greeted me with a glass of whiskey. I thought the tuxedo and sport coat fit amazing, but Ben had an eye for detail. I had desired a custom suit for many years and was excited to finally make it happen. Being a big researcher, I was thrilled to see nothing but great reviews for DG as well as a wonderful YouTube video interview (40 Over Fashion) of Daniel. Daniel is a super friendly, stylish gent with a sharp wit and fun sense of humor, which I love. Check out their website, it's really well done with lots of pics. They are also on Instagram. Their San Francisco showroom is just what I expected - beautifully designed and warm...complete with bar cart and cool throw-back pics of classic gents like Cary Grant and Steve McQueen. The fabric selection and fitting appointments were a joy - these folks know their stuff and Daniel was excellent at helping guide me through it all. He also welcomed my Instagram and Pinterest pics of what I had in mind (I know what I like; a 2-inch pant cuff and peaked lapel). I am new to the Bay Area and I was in need of a new suit. My existing suits were ill fitting and of low quality. I decided to get a new high quality custom suit. I'm glad I found Daniel George. I scheduled my consultation with Daniel via email. They quickly replied to my email and setup a meeting that was most convenient for me. My first session was with Daniel. He's amazing and funny. I also enjoyed the whisky. I didn't have much of an idea of what I wanted. I knew I wanted a versatile 3 piece suit...and that was it haha. Daniel gave me some great advice on color and fabric based on my size, height, skin color, and my personal style. He measured me and told me about the adjustments he would make based on my posture, how I walked, my chest size, my arm lengths, etc. I asked a LOT of questions and I appreciate his patience. They also threw in a free custom shirt. My suit arrived at about the time he said it would. The first fitting was with his assistants because Daniel was in Chicago. They didn't miss a beat. The two of them, and the tailor, inspected every inch of my suit to make sure it fit well. I requested a few adjustments (I wanted the vest to be let out) and they happily complied. My second fitting was a week later. There was one more round of adjustments to make. I waited in the showroom for an hour and chatted with the associates while the tailor worked. The final product was exactly what I wanted: a well fitting high quality suit. It's super comfortable and has a luxurious feel and look. As the value proposition in custom clothing has become widely accepted, a ton of operations at varying levels of service have popped up in the past 5 years. From your cold callers, to your online-only operations, to the brick-and-mortar shops that are actually online operations, they all lack the expertise and quality of DG and his team. DG's process is far more similar to a fully bespoke tailor than the custom/made-to-measure process that people are getting used to, and the difference is absolutely evident. I had to reschedule my first appointment and was told someone would call me. Instead i got a text from a bot redirecting me to their website. Tried to reschedule the appointment. I got a text message from a bot some days later saying the appointment was declined. Instead of calling to reschedule, they treat this process like you're going to Supercuts.
