Special jacket made with Italian silk for officiating a friend's wedding ceremony.
    Dan S.

Joe and Gino helped me make a custom jacket for a wedding that I was officiating for a close friend. I wanted something flamboyant with a fabric that was different and also purple (just a notion I had). Joe advised I look for fabric at Britex in the city for something different than what was available in the sample books they have. I found some Italian silk that was pricey but worth the occasion. It took about two months to make and I wore it; it went over swimmingly at the ceremony. People loved the cut and design and asked where I got it made. This was the second jacket I had made there. The first one was more conventional and I wear it to work. The selection process is pretty fun since you choose the buttons, lapel, cut, liner and the flip-inside collar color, and also custom embroidery in two discreet places. I think it's worth a try if you've never worn made-to-measure suits and definitely the place to design clothes for weddings and special events. Ask for Joe.

I had all but given up on the chance that SF would one day be able to lure boutique men's fashion shops into the city. Wingtip was able to deliver an amazing store with incredible interior decor and detail but their offerings came up short. Alas! Klien Epstein & Parker to the rescue! You would expect a store like this to be in SoHo in Manhattan - not in SF. If you want Birkenstocks or a Northface jacket there are 10,000 places in SF for that but finding quality men's fashion with color, style and spunk is harder than trying to get a reservation at State Bird Provisions. I must warn you, once you step in and examine there clothing and options, you will never be the same. You can customize suit buttons, stitching on the button holes, inside collar lining, elbow pads, and inside coat lining!!! Their inventory of ties, bow-ties and pocket-squares are pretty solid as well. Given that this is their 3rd location (other 2 are in LA/OC), the inventory is not online just yet (in terms of viewing info, colors, patterns, etc) but I imagine over time that will change. Although their store is small, you should budget quite a bit of time to examine all the options in the swatch-books.

Hip male professionals -- rejoice! The third branch of the funky SoCal made-to-measure tailors, Klein Epstein & Parker, has arrived! It's their first franchise in Northern California and also the first shop to open in the new 300 Ivy building -- Hayes Valley just got even cooler! The shop has a vintage vibe that matches their stylish brand. This is the place to go if you want to stand out from the conventional suit-wearing crowd; K.E.P.'s suits are unique, fashionable and fun. It's got a hefty price tag, but you can customize your suit to match your personality -- from the color, fabric, buttons, threading and embroidery. Definitely worth considering for that special occasion...

We came in to get my husband a new suit for an up coming very SoCal wedding and future suit type events. We ended up with a tux and a suit and couldn't be happier. The whole experience of picking out the materials was really fun. The owners and staff were so accommodating, friendly, and gracious. They bent over backwards to help accommodate our needs. We couldn't have asked for better service! We're both UX designers and from our vantage point it was very apparent the time and attention that went into crafting this business: from beautiful quality fabrics to the personal attention paid to us while we made decisions about everything from the button hole stitching to the fabric to lining on the coat. After the suit was ordered we were emailed by the staff, which was a nice touch. It's nice to feel like we were still apart of the process even after we left the store. The best part was the quality of the tux, shirt and tailoring. My husband is tall and skinny, but he's got broad shoulders and things rarely fit him (sleeves are too short, torso of the shirt is too big, back of the shirt rides up above his pants when he bends over). The staff and owners spent extra time during the fitting to show us how each decision to pin would sit so that we had a better idea of what we were buying. When we went back to pick up the tux I was so floored at how a suit could transform the man I love so much. My husband is a pretty thoughtful dresser, but oh man did he look hot in that tux. I wish he had more reasons to wear it. We're both looking forward to seeing the suit when it's finished. I'm also looking forward to getting a jacket made for me. Finding someone who will make a tailored jacket for a woman is thrilling!

I went here for a suit for my wedding and had a great experience. Waiton was friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and made the process painless--all I had to do was show up and make a few decisions about fabric. There was a little hiccup with the suit not fitting right a few weeks before the wedding and they handled it like champs and I had my suit two days before my wedding and it fit great! Exemplary quality and service, I would highly recommend K.E.P to anyone looking to get a truly one of a kind suit.

Waiton was incredible! I had a marvelous and enchanting experience with him getting my first custom suit! It was made to measure and was completely custom! I loved it! Now it's time to wait till it arrives!

I wanted to buy my boyfriend a custom suit for Christmas since I carelessly forgot one of his pants in the dry cleaners long enough for them to donate. I originally planned on making an appointment at Suitsupply but was basically ignored by the sales associate there. I decided to check out Klein Epstein Parker the following week after a friend raved about them during dinner. I was immediately greeted by an energetic and well-dressed employee, Rodney. After showing me several samples, I was impressed. Returned a few days later with the boyfriend for his fitting. It lasted for a little over an hour but it felt like we were only there for a short time. He was a tad overwhelmed because they had a wide assortment of patterns and fabrics. Luckily, Rodney was able to steer us to the right direction. He was able to find a custom suit that was within my budget. He also helped match his ties with the dress shoes that we brought. Jim's suit arrived 3 weeks later, just in time for Christmas. Navy blue, purple pattern suit lining, red velvet collar lining, and a special message stitched under his inside pocket. Amazing service, great fit, and a wide selection of fabrics. I am hoping to set an appointment with Rodney in the future for a custom blazer to go with my heels.

Once I had decided to purchase online, I waited too late to get it in time. When consider buying clothing online I always blow up the photo and look at the stitches, buttons and hard ward (I've been sewing for many years)...so I purchased it over the phone at the Valencia location. As a small business owner of over thirty years, I've learned that customer service is just as important as the quality of a product. Brian picked up on the second ring! I told him my situation and I was able to purchase it in about 1 minute. Brian promptly sent me the invoice via text. I told him my daughter works near TS and she would pick it up. Once she arrived there was no parking. I called and spoke to Brian again. I asked if he could run out and throw the bag in her car. He said he would! I describe her car, and gave Brian her name. Both times when talking to Brian I felt like he was more than happy to accommodate me (which he did). When my daughter got home with the product, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the pants. They are beautiful! Some may think it's a little pricey but I think you get what you pay for and I can tell that this item will be worn for a long time. The only thing I must regrettably say is that the website wasn't as easy to get through or else I probably would have purchased shirts there too. Also, there should be a way to get a website discount if you walk in. Thank you so much Brian. I can't remember the last time I received such great customer service.

One fellow had to depart for a break or the shift was over I can't remember which and he said goodbye after hypnotizing me with his skillful clothier ways. We were captive for better part of an hour on a day where plants and maybe a fun t-shirt were the only things on the agenda that couldn't be eaten. Plants in hand and t-shirt plan abandoned headed back to the vehicle on this side of Fillmore because the other side had already been traversed. And near Bush on that half block with old single-story SF historic shop buildings under small trees was 45R. Was it new? I hadn't noticed before or perhaps I wasn't paying attention because no, it had been there for almost a decade. And inside there weren't really the t-shirts I had originally thought I was interested in meeting but there were all these other tops and bottoms and quiet chill super helpful and engaging three then four shop people that wanted me to simply give them my wire transfer information so they could swap out all my savings for really cool clothing. I almost did! Though at the last minute elected to just procure a trousers and a t-shirt that wasn't even remotely what I had been considering but which also was actually perfect so there you go. Simply, you should just pop in. It doesn't matter your mood. If you're blue, your frown will turn upside down. If you're already having a good day, the rest will be better. If you've been cocktailing try really hard to not just volunteer access to all your accounts with an invitation to have at it. All their wares are high-quality, thoughtfully built, for everyday or special occasions, looks that maybe not everybody else is sporting. I returned to the SF Bay area after being gone for almost 8 years in December 2023. The transition did mot go according to plan because life is often that way. It necessitated me shopping for a variety of clothes. Rolo has had a unique blend of clothes and quality/value for the discerning individual warrants perpetually shopping here as was the case for my friend's son Aaron exclusively. My needs are different for work attire and dinner/evening wear so Rolo didn't share in those categories. About a week ago, I was buying another swimsuit from the 50% off rack and a jock strap. In the middle of checking out, who I learned to be your employee #1, what I consider rudely interrupted the transaction between me and emplyee #3 to insistently question if I would vote for the existing mayor. After repeatedly asking for clarification, I explained I was a recent transplant having been gone for some time. What appears to be not satisfied with my answer, employee @1 went on to tell me there were no other candidate choices. The convo transitioned to the ills of the city being the fault of landlords of which I explained I fir in that category. Gabe, with what I consider false humility, corrected himself clarifying that the commercial property landlords are the issue, not residential. I interjected my close, more than 13 year relationship with the Marsten family, a prominent commercial property owner. (I have the express permission of a family member, Ursula, to use the family name - her response was that it appeared I was in the "right place at the right time."{ The mayoral representative interjected in the conversation that there were good and bad in all aspects of tenant/owner relationships, effectively ending the conversation. I returned days later to make employee #2 aware of a quality issue I had observed in my latest purchase. I followed in to ask who made what I consider a scene in the store. Howie replied that it was just employee #1, answering my follow on inquiry if he was an employee in the affirmative. The conversation also included how the recent show availed exclusive purchasing rights. Based on my 30+ years in and around supply chain, I know vendors provide exclusive purchasing arrangements i limited territories. The ideas above lead me to my present position. With the advent of online shopping and the advancements in motorized transportation, I will vote where I shop with my wallet. Rolo presently is not in the list of choices where I will procure what I want and need. Signed, Richard Scott The Mayor can contact the store as my direct email contained my personal cell phone.
