We learned about different fabrics, and 17 spent several hours finding the right combination of fabric, silk lining, buttons, and special touches that made the tux uniquely and perfectly Elanor. When Elanor tried the tux on, they found small ways to make it even better. They went to their senior prom feeling happy, proud, and most importantly authenticly them. They even had a fabric book of RuPaul looks after my husband mentioned really liking some of the suits featured on Drag Race. The fabric choices are great and everything is custom made. We had a really weird customer service experience here, as a walk-in. We came here at around 5:50pm today in search of a white button down shirt for my fiancé (for our wedding) and the customer service associate was just really dismissive and not engaged at all. When we asked questions, he gave one word answers and barely glanced up from his laptop. Joe and Gino helped me make a custom jacket for a wedding that I was officiating for a close friend. I wanted something flamboyant with a fabric that was different and also purple (just a notion I had). Joe advised I look for fabric at Britex in the city for something different than what was available in the sample books they have. I found some Italian silk that was pricey but worth the occasion. It took about two months to make and I wore it; it went over swimmingly at the ceremony. People loved the cut and design and asked where I got it made. This was the second jacket I had made there. The first one was more conventional and I wear it to work. The selection process is pretty fun since you choose the buttons, lapel, cut, liner and the flip-inside collar color, and also custom embroidery in two discreet places. I think it's worth a try if you've never worn made-to-measure suits and definitely the place to design clothes for weddings and special events. Ask for Joe. read more

I went for a fitting in July of 2023. I was initially told to expect a turnaround time of 4-6 weeks. After 6 weeks I called to ask when I could come in - I was told there was a delay and to expect another few weeks. I called every 2-3 weeks and was always told there was a delay. I was never offered an alternative, a solution, or anything by way of explanation. Eventually, I got delivery mid November - which was already 6 weeks later than initially promised. The fabrics are nice - but I selected those and they matched the swatches I selected. The overall fit was pretty good, but clearly not excellent. There were multiple disappointing things that came out. 1) The reason for the delay could have been explained to me much earlier and a potential change or solution could have resulted in a delivery that was just a week or two later than promised 2) The single specific detail I asked for was done wrong and it was done wrong in a way that could not be fixed. I was told in the shop that it was ok - but upon consultation with another tailor they explained why the detail was wrong and why an alteration to get the detail as I desired was impossible and also how they tailor an initial garment to make for such an allowance so that this problem can be fixed quickly and easily. I will not return. This shop has lost my confidence in a way I will not give them a chance to recover from. This is especially true after finding another tailor that does things right the first time and on schedule. read more

I made an appointment day of on Boxing Day 2019. Wanted to get fit for 8-10 new basic business shirts as my existing ones were not fitting well anymore. I learned that the fitting and production of the first shirt would take eight weeks, at which point they'd have only ONE shirt done, to which they'd make appropriate corrections, then I'd have to wait God knows how long for all the others to be manufactured and delivered. Due to some personal circumstances I needed the shirts faster, so I inquired if they could be expedited. Yes they could, but at an exorbitant fee. Maybe the fee could be waived since I'd be looking at spending thousands of dollars with them? Not a chance. Could the shirts be delivered to me since I was moving out of town? Don't count on it. So I took my business elsewhere. Frankly I would've spent the money with them, even given all above, if the store manager that day, Waiton, I believe, treated me with the respect due a new customer willing to part with thousands of dollars on their products. Customer service was not remotely up to snuff, especially given their astronomical price tags. Waiton seemed impatient and irritated that I would even ask the questions I asked. I had all but given up on the chance that SF would one day be able to lure boutique men's fashion shops into the city. Wingtip was able to deliver an amazing store with incredible interior decor and detail but their offerings came up short. Alas! Klien Epstein & Parker to the rescue! You would expect a store like this to be in SoHo in Manhattan - not in SF. If you want Birkenstocks or a Northface jacket there are 10,000 places in SF for that but finding quality men's fashion with color, style and spunk is harder than trying to get a reservation at State Bird Provisions. I must warn you, once you step in and examine there clothing and options, you will never be the same. You can customize suit buttons, stitching on the button holes, inside collar lining, elbow pads, and inside coat lining!!! Their inventory of ties, bow-ties and pocket-squares are pretty solid as well. Given that this is their 3rd location (other 2 are in LA/OC), the inventory is not online just yet (in terms of viewing info, colors, patterns, etc) but I imagine over time that will change. Although their store is small, you should budget quite a bit of time to examine all the options in the swatch-books. read more

We came in to get my husband a new suit for an up coming very SoCal wedding and future suit type events. We ended up with a tux and a suit and couldn't be happier. The whole experience of picking out the materials was really fun. The owners and staff were so accommodating, friendly, and gracious. They bent over backwards to help accommodate our needs. We couldn't have asked for better service! We're both UX designers and from our vantage point it was very apparent the time and attention that went into crafting this business: from beautiful quality fabrics to the personal attention paid to us while we made decisions about everything from the button hole stitching to the fabric to lining on the coat. After the suit was ordered we were emailed by the staff, which was a nice touch. It's nice to feel like we were still apart of the process even after we left the store. The best part was the quality of the tux, shirt and tailoring. My husband is tall and skinny, but he's got broad shoulders and things rarely fit him (sleeves are too short, torso of the shirt is too big, back of the shirt rides up above his pants when he bends over). The staff and owners spent extra time during the fitting to show us how each decision to pin would sit so that we had a better idea of what we were buying. When we went back to pick up the tux I was so floored at how a suit could transform the man I love so much. My husband is a pretty thoughtful dresser, but oh man did he look hot in that tux. I wish he had more reasons to wear it. We're both looking forward to seeing the suit when it's finished. I'm also looking forward to getting a jacket made for me. KEP is a major disappointment. If you are accustomed to well-made or semi-tailored suits, you will find that the fabrics and construction of KEP "artisans" are inferior. The service was not impressive either. Barneys pays attention to every detail and anticipates the needs of their clients. They appear and act professional. KEP in SF staff does not display concern to the needs of their clients. You are better off buying a nice shirt in Barneys for $425 and expect it altered to you needs within a week. I've been waiting for one lousy white shirt for the past 5 weeks. I'd say skip KEP and go to Barneys or Neiman Marcus instead. Customized tailor shops need to have staff who are accustomed to handling discerning clients. read more

I wanted to buy my boyfriend a custom suit for Christmas since I carelessly forgot one of his pants in the dry cleaners long enough for them to donate. I originally planned on making an appointment at Suitsupply but was basically ignored by the sales associate there. I decided to check out Klein Epstein Parker the following week after a friend raved about them during dinner. I was immediately greeted by an energetic and well-dressed employee, Rodney. After showing me several samples, I was impressed. Returned a few days later with the boyfriend for his fitting. It lasted for a little over an hour but it felt like we were only there for a short time. He was a tad overwhelmed because they had a wide assortment of patterns and fabrics. Luckily, Rodney was able to steer us to the right direction. He was able to find a custom suit that was within my budget. He also helped match his ties with the dress shoes that we brought. Jim's suit arrived 3 weeks later, just in time for Christmas. Navy blue, purple pattern suit lining, red velvet collar lining, and a special message stitched under his inside pocket. Please read this before deciding to try out Klein Epstein & Parker. A few months before our wedding, Joe measured my fiancé and I for different colored/styled wedding suits. When the suits arrived, TWO WEEKS before our wedding, I had a HUGE amount of room in mine and my fiancé was squeezed into his. (I'm shorter and leaner.) I realized that Joe had switched our measurements but he wouldn't admit it. After a while, it was apparent that was the only explanation. He suggested that we take the suits as they were without discount-knowing that we each had ordered a very different color/style suit. We also had let him know when he measured us that the cost of the suits was a huge expense for us. He did not apologize or offer a refund or any compensation/service for his mistake. Again, this was TWO WEEKS before our wedding. I demanded a refund and got one. Again, no apology or follow up. While measuring us, Joe told us that he had been doing manual labor until recently when he learned how to measure suits; he was teaching his brother too. He seems to have no management or tailoring experience. He did not know how to handle the situation and showed no graciousness, generosity, or professional acumen in our interaction. Luckily we were resourceful and found suits elsewhere and had a great wedding. When I messaged the business on yelp, Waiton responded to me right away, and even before open business hours! He really took the time to make sure everything was perfect. I felt like he listened to what I wanted but also helped me steer clear of certain cuts of pants and jackets that were unflattering to my body shape. The suit came out great, it was much nicer than I expected. Waiton also helped me track down a particular pattern tie that really wanted for me and my groomsmen. On March 23rd, 2019, my husband and I got married. Now, lots of people get married, but we knew at the outset we had a few obstacles to overcome. First, we only had three months to plan the wedding. Second, we had over 100 guests. Third, being a same-sex couple brings some of its own challenges. We also wanted some traditional elements to mix with unique ones. Finally, we had our own sense of style we need to incorporate into our ceremony. Our wedding was fabulously successful, and I believe that all of those involved will remember it for years to come. However, none of this would have been possible without some amazingly talented and dedicated people. My husband and I knew we didn't want traditional tuxedos for our wedding, but something special and more uniquely us. We decided on bespoke suits from Klein, Epstein, and Parker. On our first visit, we met with Waiton Farrell, who guided us through our choices. We had a limited time in which to be fitted, have our suits made-to-order, have a final fitting, and have them ready for our wedding, but Waiton was totally unfazed by the short timeframe and assured us that all would be ready. He helped us at every step of the way, making recommendations that demonstrated both his experience and his understanding of what we wanted. We quickly settled on two matching suits that reflected our individual favorite colors but that common elements to tie them together. We wanted to be able to wear our suit trousers without a belt, which we thought might be difficult to tailor, but Waiton took that request in stride. Every detail, down to the thread color for the buttonholes, was up for consideration, which should have been overwhelming. Instead, Waiton provided us both with an appropriate beverage and a lot of guidance without once seeming overbearing or obsequious. With his aid, we choose our trousers, jackets, vests, and even shirts. He made it seem like for my husband and me to be well-dressed at our wedding was important to him. I can't recommend this place enough. 1) Klein Epstein & Parker's tailoring and customer service is on another level. I won't use anyone else after having alterations done by them. They're insanely good and they go out of their way when you don't expect them to do so. 2) Designing a new suit was a delight. There were a lot of decisions to be made, but I never felt overwhelmed. Their staff always knew when to jump in and provide advice. I've yet to get my new suit, so I can't speak to the fit. 3) These folks are also a great resource for dress shirts, ties and socks. From start to finish, the process and product was wonderful. We made an appointment on a Sunday afternoon and were warmly greeted by the shop's manager, Joe, who immediately made us feel welcome. We sipped on cold beers while Joe educated us on the different options, and helped us hone in our fabrics and details. We never felt pressured - and Joe really gave us the time to make our own choices. When it came to the fitting, it was clear that Joe was knowledgeable and experienced. We were a bit on a time crunch, and while Joe was really helpful in getting us our pieces in a short window. When they arrived, both suits were amazing and fit us both perfectly the first time - no additional tailoring needed! And the compliments we got when we debuted the suits at a East Coast wedding were more than enough validation we made the right choice. They say ALL their stuff is made from Italian fabrics in Italy...it's not. Sure, some of their suits are made from Italian fabrics, but the majority are made in China garbage you can get much cheaper at Nordstrom...or even Macy's. They don't listen to you if you want your suit a little fuller cut. They tailor specifically to the super slim or athletic men you see cat-calling women or pretending to be sophisticated at a wine bar. All their fabrics are weird. They have one or two navy suits. The rest are pink or green or thick stripes nobody would ever wear except some Miami reject. Or Gene Rayburn. Ridiculously overpriced. Just avoid this place, and find a better bespoke tailor. I had a sweater custom made. I have some high end articles already and I was very impressed with the quality of the work, for several reasons. First, I found the materials to exceed expectations. Second, the workmanship did not expose any tendency to cut corners or rush the work. Third, this attention was a little surprising given the price. For this kind of thing I would have expected to pay between 1.5x to 2x what I paid, so needless to say I was happy with the result. Finally, I want to mention that the service representation was exceptionally helpful and professional. Joe walked me through the process, the options available, then pulled some strings with the factory to get some extra custom details sorted the way I had requested. Joe is a tailor, a stylist, and a fashionista who helped guide me based on my vision for formalwear looks tempered by his sensibility of construction, composition, and cost. Not only has Joe become my muse for my formalwear, but when KEP's fabric options didn't fill my needs, Joe took the time to walk fabric stores with me and help conceive of even more new, rebellious looks. I got there 25 minutes before they open and Rodney was there and was willing to help me before he actually opened up which is not like any other place in San Francisco. most won't help you prior to the time they open their store. So I have my best friends wedding August 20th in Vegas but will be leaving on the 15th he help me pick out a suit and a tuxedo too he is rushing the order at no extra charge. We had a destination wedding in Oahu, Hawaii this past weekend. My husband went to Klein, Epstein & Parker months before the wedding for his bespoke tuxedo, especially after hearing good reviews from fellow friends who used them previously. Warning: Our experience was probably the worst case scenario for a couple having a destination wedding. To start, the father of the groom's bespoke tuxedo was made SO large, and had to be taken in SO many time, that the lines of the suit were completely off. The suit ended up looking so awkward on my father-in-law that he ended up wearing one of his older John Varvatos suits from Nordstrom, which fit much better. What was the point of getting (and paying a lot of money for) a bespoke suit that fits worse than off the rack? Still not sure why they made a suit for him that was about 5 sizes too large. Now, to my husband's tuxedo. The tuxedo looks fabulous, no qualms about that... But his bespoke tuxedo shirt with his personal monogram? They never delivered it to him in time for our wedding. We were flying out on Wednesday morning to Hawaii. They knew this months ago. That Monday before our wedding, my husband went to go pick up his shirt and tuxedo. The tuxedo was ready, but they told him the custom shirt wasn't ready yet. They said, don't worry, our courier will deliver it to you by 3pm to your downtown office on Tuesday. On Tuesday, 3pm came and passed, and the courier never showed up. My husband called and called with panic, and by 6pm, no shirt, no courier. We had to take off Wednesday morning with no shirt in hand, which was very uncomfortable. They said, not to worry, they would deliver the shirt to one of the groomsmen who was not flying out until Thursday morning. They said the shirt would be delivered to him by Wednesday 3pm, that they would hand deliver it themselves... They did deliver the shirt, by hand themselves... When our groomsman arrived to Hawaii on Thursday night, and dropped off my husband's shirt, IT WAS NOT HIS BESPOKE SHIRT. They delivered a RANDOM white shirt, with no french cuffs, WITH A STAIN ON IT, IN A DIFFERENT SIZE. The tailor made shirt he paid for and had made specially for his wedding day was no where to be found!!! What a joke! We had to run to a Saks Fifth Avenue that night to find a tuxedo shirt that would fit him a day before our wedding. What a complete unnecessary stressor right before our wedding day. Thank GOD Saks ended up having 1 tuxedo shirt in the back that fit my husband, which was paid a couple hundred dollars for. Besides the point of having to pay for a new shirt. The one he had made for him was very special to him with his personal monogram, that was never able to wear on our wedding day. It made us both so sad. That being said, when you are paying SO much money for a luxury bespoke suit/tuxedo, you expect a certain level of professionalism, and a certain level of experience and efficiency. You don't expect to have your suits made in the wrong size, and to have to pay for that, but still wear an old suit you had at home because the custom one looked so bad. You certainly don't expect for them to lose your bespoke clothing, AND ESPECIALLY to not deliver your custom clothing that you had made for your wedding to you in time for your wedding, which is the entire reason you went there to begin with. read more

Went in with high expectations, but left dissatisfied. For a custom made suit at the price they charge, I was expecting much better service and a better quality suit. The service was flat out poor - I never received a phone call from them. Two weeks after the time promised, I had not heard anything so had to call them to ask whether my suit was finished and was told yes it's ready - why didn't I get a call then? Same experience after each alteration (and there had to be many) I would be expecting a call after the time promised and days would go by and no word so I would have to call in and ask to see whether the alterations were finished. It felt as if they couldn't be bothered. Ultimately the suit was decent quality but nothing special and not worth the poor service. read more
