Hello, I have had a very negative experience with this business. I am new to the area and this place was recommended to me. I have a sick child that I wanted to be seen, but they refused to see him because he's not vaccinated. We have chosen to wait on his vaccines because we have a family history of serious reactions to vaccinations. They didn't bother to ask me why he wasn't, only refused me service. They were very rude and also completely unable to provide a legitimate reason for refusing medical care due to vaccination status. They said, "Because that's the way Dr. Reidy wants it." If you're a fan of being shamed for your medical choices, you'll feel at home here. These people have no tolerance for free thinking, research minded folks who choose to take their medical decisions into their own hands. If you're a fan of blindly obeying a doctor who makes decisions on treatment without asking questions and considering all of the circumstances, then, by all means, take your child here and pray the doctor makes the correct "guess" to treat your child. We could not be more satisfied with the treatment and care given at Schoolhouse Pediatrics. We have been coming here for well check ups for almost 18 months and have had nothing but great experiences with everyone we have seen. This week, my youngest son of 3 came down with strep and pneumonia and the care that we received was unmatched-- Chanin, one of the RNs, was so precious with our very sick boy and I trusted her as much as I would a MD-- all of the other nurses and medical assistants are awesome and care so much about these kids! I had many worried mom calls into the office this week and was always called back quickly with all of my questions answered. We saw Dr Reidy for the first time this morning. This woman has such a passion for her little patients and it shows. I will also add that, while they do recommend the CDC vaccination schedule, they respect that you are the parent and respect your choices regarding vaccines. These people were really awful to me in the office. My kid kept having recurring ringworm and the doctor came in and told me that it was dermatitis. Everybody can tell the difference between ringworm and dermatitis I'm not even gonna bother with that my real issue was she started to treat me like I had Munchhausen syndrome. I don't know on what earth making up a child keeps getting ringworms on them and you can't figure out where it's coming from with somehow correlate to Munchhausen syndrome but I guess it's not for rational people to understand. I was sent to school house because I was told that they see children who cannot be vaccinated for medical reasons. When I got there they pressured me to vaccinate my child. Then when I told them that I wasn't comfortable with it and I needed to take more time and information they told me they weren't gonna be able to see me at that office anymore. I have given them my complete contact information when I went so there was no reason for them to never send me a bill and report my balance to collections. I have great insurance I don't have any medical bills and I pay everything as soon as I go but these people are just awful. If you don't vaccinate, send your kids to Saint David's, if you vaccinate take your kids to ARC they are 10 times better. Don't send your kids to schoolhouse pediatrics, it's got bad vibes. Buncha mean spirited women taking advantage of the respect and authority given by people with children. People that need medical care. People they took an oath (or made commitments) to protect. read more

Could not be happier ! Stephanie who runs the office at the front is so sweet and is awesome to work with. 1. I am impressed they are a 1 stop shop 2. I can do my shots for tots program there for vaccines and totally understand why as a parent I want to do a delayed vaccine schedule for my son. 3. They take " Well " patients in the morning and " Sick " in the afternoon 4. They offered fluoride at his 2 year app 5. Doctor Riedy took her time to see us and spend with Ryak being that it was his 1st visit. LOVED her ! 6. I love that they have an easy patient portal 7. Assistants were also nice. 8. Wow, they have some scheme going on at this office. Went in with two healthy kids for their yearly well-child checks and managed to get billed for two diagnostic visits. Both initiated by the nurse. She insisted my first child had step. I insisted she didn't as we hadn't been mixing with other kids due to Covid back in the summer, and my child had zero symptoms! School was out, so I knew she didn't. She told me in a very judgmental tone that kids can have strep without symptoms and made it clear to me that I was not being a good mom if I didn't test and check her. Guess what, we tested and no strep. It's a scam. Complete scam. The assistant doing the pin prick thing to get blood is incompetent. She tried 3 times on 3 different fingers causing distress and pain, and still couldn't figure it out. She had to call in another assistant/nurse. The nurse looked at my daughter private area too, so odd. Never had that happen at a well child visit. My 8 and 6 year olds were very uncomfortable and when I asked a question about her doing that, wham, another diagnostic visit charged. Awful visit followed by terrible billing follow up. Either this is a racket or they're just really bad at looking after kids and families. Do not recommend. First and last visit. Apparently Yelp doesn't believe in 0 stars, but I do when it comes to Schoolhouse. By far the worst run pediatrician, medical practice, and business I have ever come across. Process wise, no matter what I've been here for over the past year, I can never escape in under 1.5 hours- typically 30 minutes in the waiting room, 30 minutes waiting in the room for the nurse (because you will never see the doctor), and another 30 waiting for vaccinations or a secondary nurse visit. I am baffled that there are so many opportunities to keep people at the office, but Schoolhouse seems to do it every time. I'd suggest overhauls to scheduling and staffing mix at a minimum to run this practice more efficiently, because as-is it is completely unbearable. I am always the only one (or at most one of two) in the waiting room, there appear to be maybe three rooms occupied, but still somehow delays across the visit. Quality of care is average too- you're not getting a great visit from an amazing doctor to make up for the horrific time burden. Complete waste of time, every time. read more

Just recently moved to Austin from DC. Where our Pediatrician in Washington was one of the BEST doctors in the North. I thought it was going to take at least 2 or 3 practices till I found a decent pediatrician for my 7 month old. I was surprised at how much I liked schoolhouse pediatrics. Dr. Reidy is so sweet and attentive with my son. The only complaint I have. Which, I find to be really ridiculous... They charge $20 to talk with a nurse on the weekends. I understand that probably controls the amount of stupid calls they would get from parents, but really? Our doctor in DC always had someone on call (no charge) . When I did pay $20 to talk with a doctor, they were not helpful, some what rude, and made me feel like I was inconveniencing their night. I will not be doing that again. Overall, I'm really happy with this practice and would recommend Dr. Reidy. read more

We love Dr. Reidy. Her philosophy that pediatrics is not a cattle call is very appreciated. She takes time at the appointments to know your children, and you, and is very informative, beyond just the Rx and diagnosis. She asks the right questions, answers the questions you have and is very thorough. It's not just an in and get you out as fast as I can kind of place. My kids love her and get excited to see her, as long as there are no shots!! :) They almost always, if not always, get you in the same day for a sick child, and the staff and nurses are very nice, as well. Love this practice, we have been using them for almost five years now for our two boys. Dr. Reidy is great, very personable, and she knows what is a big deal and what is not a big deal, which is comforting when you are a first time parent. I kind of wish she could be my doctor too. Dr. Christensen is also pleasant and skilled and gives good medical advice. I have not had a bad experience with either one or any of their office staff. We have been taking both of our girls to Dr. Reidy for 5 years now and we LOVE HER!!!! Obviously!Because we live 45 minutes away from their office but still make the drive anyways. You are not just a number to her, she really makes you feel cared for and is very good about answering all of your questions thoroughly, and giving options. The nurses are always super friendly and great with the kiddos. The front desk staff are always helpful and friendly. We could not recommend this place more! Dr. Reidy is fantastic. Kind, thorough, great with the kids, and always takes the time to answer my questions. Her staff are equally great with my son and they always - always - return my calls promptly. Moreover, I am able to call and speak with the medical assistants about health concerns (e.g., what to do in X situation, when to go to the doctor) and they are always incredibly helpful. Also, you can tell that everyone in the office genuinely cares about the kids. I was very sad to see Dr. Christensen go - I mean, so incredibly sad, because she was amazing - but we will stay for the care that Dr. Reidy provides. I understand that it is difficult for small practices like this to hold onto top doctors, since the bigger medical groups can offer more pay (for much more work), hence the turnover. Still, this practice offers a level of attention that is hard to find in today's climate of large-scale health operators and I am thrilled that my son is their patient. read more

Our family loves Dr Reidy and her staff. She has been seeing my two sons for seven years since we moved from Round Rock. My son's had TriCare insurance which was a challenge finding a provider who accepts them. Dr Reidy saw my two teenage step-daughters and two of our exchange students that we have hosted. Love Dr Reidy!! We have couple doctors before, none of them is good. My daughter has digestive issue ever since she was born. Most of doctors never get to the point and solve issues for us even when my daughter complain she has bad belly pain for a long time. We got to know Dr Reidy from a friend. I immediately love Dr Reidy from our first meet. She really listen to my daughter's complain and take every word seriously. She try her best to diagnose and explain to me different options if things don't get better. She is not afraid of writing prescriptions, not like other doctors who always ask you to observe and give kid Tylenol for everything. Highly recommend Dr Reidy! read more

We have been seeing Dr. Reidy and the rest of the wonderful people at Schoolhouse Pediatrics since my first babies came home from the NICU. I asked for advice from fellow twin mamas about pediatricians and Dr. Reidy was at the top of that list. Then, when my twins were born three months early, I asked for a list of good preemie pediatricians, and she was at the top of that list, as well, so it was a no-brainer to choose her practice when we suddenly had a baby coming home that needed immediate follow-up. The short notice meant I original met with her partner, but Dr. Reidy did come in to say hello and remind me that we were in this together. There are are several things that I feel set Dr. Reidy and Schoolhouse apart from the rest: 1) Doctors in training and pre-med students as medical assistants: My children are unique. All three of them were born early and my twins extremely early. Whenever a resident/intern is in the office, they start by watching and eventually get to examine the kids and practice making diagnoses and recommending plans, all under the supervision of Dr. Reidy, who sometimes agrees with them and sometimes does not. Almost all of the medical assistants that my children love end up leaving for med school, which makes us sad in the moment but knowing that they were trained in an office where they learn how to work with families as just as important as practicing accurate medicine makes me happy for all the patients they will go on to treat. My daughter still talks about some of the very best ones and I know they are out there somewhere doing great things. 2) Perfect combination of personalities: Dr. Reidy always seems to have a partner doctor (and the NP, Sue) who perfectly compliment her personality. We love Dr. Reidy's easy-going style and the hugs at the end of every appointment but realize that's not for everyone. Sometimes, it's even better for us to get in without worrying about who we see and the care is always top-notch, even if not every is quite as relaxed/relaxing as Dr. Reidy is. 3) Ability to calm down anxious parents: I cried through my daughter's entire first appointment. At the end of that appointment, Dr. A (no longer at SP) realized I probably needed to see Dr. Reidy so she came in (taking time from her own schedule) to chat with me. She immediately knew why I was stressed, chatted with me until I felt more relaxed, and hugged me on the way out. Since then, we've gone in worried many times with one preemie issue or another or worried for no reason (sorry, Dr. Reidy!!) but she always understood where we were coming from and talked us off the anxiety ledge by teaching us how to evaluate the kids ourselves. 4) On-call doctor/NP 24/7: There is always, ALWAYS someone on-call even on holidays and weekends. Not only do they have Saturday sick visits, but if you call the after hours number, one of the doctors will call you back immediately and help you figure out what to do within minutes. When we leave with possible difficulties ahead, we are always told who will be on call and what to call for. Dr. Reidy has even offered to meet us at the office when they are closed if we need it, but luckily we haven't had anything that serious come up. If you want to feel like your kid's doctor knows and loves them and your family, this is the place for you. Between our house and the office, we pass several "highly recommended" practices and we happily drive the extra few minutes to Schoolhouse. My kids get excited to go, even when they get shots because it's a happy, fun place to be. read more

After our first child was born (2013) we went to one of the few doctors that accepted military insurance. I was practically in tears upon leaving that pediatrician's office. It was everything that I had never wished for. We accidently stumbled upon Dr. Reidy and we are ever so grateful. She is everything we ever wanted and more. She is kind, genuinely friendly, doesn't shame you in your self-blaming parenting moments, there is absolutely no judgment (when I realized I was unable to breastfeed -- as I had planned), the kids love her, and she has the correct statements when it comes to stay-at-home daddies. When we moved to Houston for a year, we traveled back for visits. We couldn't imagine seeing anyone else. read more

Having recently moved to the area I was nervous to find another pediatrician. I'm so glad I found Schoolhouse Pediatrics. My two children have had their yearly physicals here. They also treated my son for a ruptured eardrum over the summer. I was really impressed on their service/treatment for my sons ear. They got him in within an hour, and despite my son getting severely ill in their office, they treated both of us with the upmost kindness and respect. read more

Dr riedy is simply the best pediatrician around not only does she remember your child but she remembers the parent. I have been coming to her since my son was born and he is now six. The only complaints I have is there is not a separate waiting area for sick children and the waiting area is very small. Kids, toddlers, and babies could be coughing or sneezing and sitting right next to you. The office and equipment seems outdated. The doctors are good. Schoolhouse Pediatrics will see me no longer. I have a 6-mo old son and have been in 3 times. I noticed the following things very quickly and would strongly suggest looking elsewhere for care if any of these negatives concern you. Positives: - Friendly, happy, positive staff - Open Saturdays for sick visits Negatives: - I never once saw dr. Reidy, each time there was a new random doctor I had never heard of, no info about them on the website and they didn't explain who they were when they came in the room other than giving their name - pressure from one of the other doctors (not dr. Reidy) to stick with a traditional vaccine schedule when I specifically picked the place because I wanted to go with an alternative one and even called before my first appointment to make sure they were okay with that - no separate well child vs. sick child waiting area. Do they want us to all share sicknesses so we just keep coming back and giving them our money? I am NOT returning with an almost-mobile infant...it was alright with one I carried with me everywhere - they have us fill out erasable forms before each appointment appropriate for the child's age, which is fine, saving trees...but I am always asked the same questions when the doctor arrives and it was obvious this last visit that the doctor didn't even read or pay attention to what I filled out when she acted surprised when I mentioned several things in the appointment that I had just filled out on the form. Not reading it. Erasing it after I leave. What's the point in having me fill it out? Especially since I had to do it with one hand while wrestling a baby in the other. - vague, minimally informative website that does not include an email address for feedback from unhappy customers Overall, super friendly atmosphere but very unfriendly and inconsiderate to parents in the way they roll as a business. When my first son was 2 years old I switched to Dr. Reidy. I drive from Circle C because the medical attention my children receive is excellent. Dr.Reidy diagnosed my son with ADHD and has done a beautiful job managing his meds, preserving his self esteem and really changing the course of his academic path. Dr. Christensen is also a terrific provider. Both take the time to listen to me and allow me and provide my sons with the care they deserve. The office staff is accommodating and competent. My sons are both high energy and having physicians in my own family I expect a lot. read more

I completely agree with Autumn. These staff are top-notch. It's not unusual for us to go to a subspecialist who exclaims...wow...Dr Reidy ordered just the right labs...very comprehensive! Dr Reidy and her staff are all very personable, caring, knowledgeable, and competent. I've never had issues with billing or coding. We moved here from out of state and have Tri-Care insurance. I was happy to find a pediatrician that was accepting patients under Tri-Care (retired Military insurance). The 1st time we went to School House we were satisfied. We had gone another time and we were not unsatisfied. I took my son back another time because he was sick for 3 days and I wanted to make sure he was ok. Dr. Reidy was nice however, she focused on something my son mentioned and wrote down a diagnosis in my son's chart which she had no verification of and simply made a bunch or assumptions. I asked her if we could order tests or have a further evaluation then if she was going to write this down because if it was that concerning there should be further tests. She said no it would not matter. I also asked for a full panel of blood work to be done on my son that day and she did not order it. Shortly after we left I called back about the blood panel I had requested. I expressed to the staff I was frustrated that I requested this and Dr. Reidy did not address what we where there for, this appointment was the end of April. I called in May to schedule a Physical for my son. The earliest opening they had was mid June. I made the appt. and let them know I may have to see if I could get my son into another doctor as he needed this prior to June for summer camps. I took my son to my Doctor and let Schoolhouse know that my doctor did his physical and I was canceling his appointment. A week after I canceled his appointment and let them know my doctor did his physical I received a certified letter stating that Schoolhouse pediatrics was no longer going to provide service to my Son because they said I treated their staff poorly on my April 2017 visit... Almost 1.5 months later I receive this notice. I do not know what I did to receive this letter, maybe they were unhappy I canceled our appointment and used my doctor to have my sons physical done so he could go to camp, maybe they don't wan t to take Tricare patients anymore (since they don't get paid as much from the insurance)... I do not buy the scapegoat route of accusing me of treating the staff poorly and being contacted almost 1.5 months later and not even being told what I did. This is very interesting. It seems more like a legal excuse to try and terminate providing service to us with our Tri-Care insurance... I am fine with not bringing my son back to Schoolhouse as it is not a good fit and I will take him to my doctor for now. My son is also African American and my doctor did all the blood work and also blood work to test for risks associated specifically with African Americans this is also something which Dr. Reidy should have discussed with us but did not. read more
