Our kids have been under the care of the doctors and NP's here for many years now. We started seeing Dr. Temple before this became Texas Children's. It was wonderful then but even better now that it's in network with that hospital system. It's really great to know my kids are under the care of someone whose kids are a part of the community as well. I just wanted to give a huge shout out to Dr. Grant who is kind, reasonable, and always give sound advice. She never tires of seeing us for sick visits with my daughter & former preemie son (who I'm especially careful with) and will often work us into her schedule at the last minute to get us seen. We are SO grateful to her. Also a big thank you to our hero, Taylor, who goes above and beyond to get my kiddo his Synagis every month on time, and always gets us in to administer it ASAP. Maybe this used to be a good place, a long time in the past, hence the good reviews. But if I were you, I would cross this place from your list immediately. I would give it 0 starts if I could. For one, no one EVER answers the phone there. It's all a voicemail process and they'll call you 2-3 days later. I experienced that myself multiple times and once experienced a frustrated father who had to drive all the way to the clinic to talk to them about something because he couldn't get a hold of anyone through the phone. The receptionists said they receive 600 calls a day and then, made fun of him when he left. This was at Drip location. If you can't handle the amount of phone calls a day, then don't take as many patients or STAFF UP! This answer is absolutely unacceptable. Now the last straw for me. My baby is very sick for 4 days now. Last night, she had a 104.5 fever, low oxygen and high heart beat. Before she got to this point, I tried calling the office when they were open to get a same day appt. Of course I left a voicemail. They never called. Took my child to the ER that day. I called again the following day, left a voicemail. Nothing. Called again one day later and tried to talk to the nurse, who was incredibly unhelpful, and who finally suggested I booked an appt in 24hrs with her doctors. Really? ... I've been trying to do that when the baby wasn't that sick, and ever since, but do they care? They didn't even create an account for her in the new system so I can't even communicate online or retrieve any info when the ER was asking me questions about past care. The pediatrician in itself does a good job but everything surrounding it is broken. How can you trust your child with a doctor practice that when we need the most, they just don't care? I will not ever go back to this place and I highly recommend you don't either. They need to start treating people like human beings instead of numbers and honor their medical oath. They obviously cannot handle the job they signed up for. I'm in shock and horrified by their lack of care. Steer clear from Beansprouts. read more

My 1-year old was diagnosed with RSV and Viral pneumonia by Urgent Care (8/23/21), i began calling BeanSprouts at 9:45am (the urgent line!) and ended up leaving 6 messages for the appointment line and the nurses line. Never received a call back. My husband ended up driving to BeanSprouts to talk to something other then a voicemail. He was literally told that we had not left any messages (??!!!) and that is why we didn't receive a call back. Unprofessional and upsetting, to say the least. We will be looking for another pediatrician. It is impossible to talk to a live person-- it should not be this way with our precious littles. read more

Dr.Temple and Jenna are AMAZING! We found Beansprouts when we first moved to Lakeway in 2017/2018 and honestly it was godsend. We currently live in southeast Austin and my 2 kids are still patients of Dr. Temple at Beansprouts. They are worth the commute in Austin traffic! Austin is a growing city and is short staffed in a lot of industries and healthcare is one of them. Quality healthcare provided by Drs and staff with an excellent bedside manner is very hard to come by and for me is worth the commute. They held my hand through my first year of motherhood! I have a 9 month old baby girl and she has been seen by Dr Grant since day one, she is not only an amazing and very knowledgeable doctor, but she is also a sweet, caring, compassionate and accommodating person. I did not have a good experience with Dr. Sarmiento or a nurse recently when I went in seeking care for my daughter, who I suspected had Lyme's disease. In the past, I have had a good experience with a nurse practitioner in this office and had hoped to see her again. My daughter is technically registered as a patient of Dr. Grant's, but we've never met her. I did not feel that Dr. Sarmiento was respectful of my experience or perspective. He also clearly doubted my own Lyme's diagnosis, which I had received from my personal doctor. He refused to take seriously anything I'd read or experienced about the disease, and made a snap judgement that my daughter had strep without even examining her. He was literally sitting across the room when he determined it was strep. (My daughter is 12 and hasn't had strep in over four years.). Her step test was negative. In general, I would say he isn't as kind or considerate as he should be with parents, and in this instance, I believe his arrogance took over. The nurse that was sent in for my daughter's strep test was also pretty sarcastic; she lacked skills. My daughter has autism and she spoke super loudly and animatedly in her face as if she was hard of hearing or not smart. In the end, she had to send in a calmer, more experienced nurse to get the throat culture. That nurse was a welcome relief and the only bright spot in the visit. I encourage parents to choose alternative providers or practices, and always make sure you get a second opinion if you doubt any doctor or feel they don't listen, especially in the case of something as potentially dangerous as Lyme's and with as much debated information. My daughter did receive appropriate treatment somewhere else but by that time we'd spent twice the money and it took twice as long. It was also highly upsetting to us as a family. read more

I'm sad to say I wish I believed in the negative reviews. I have been taking my newborn there since the day she was born, now I am leaving. 1. wrong diagnose -this is the biggest reason why Im going else where. 2 different diagnose delayed her treatment. We had to take her to the specialist, and was told the diagnose was completely wrong. my poor baby suffered for 2 extra long weeks and now will take even longer to heal. luckily it wasn't life-threatening. However, my poor baby was miserable for weeks. fussy, crying and lost appetite and sleep. They showed no concern or sympathy towards the situation. basically told me to wait it out. 2. The technician is so unfriendly. I have never seen smiles. Every time I see her, she was just "take her down to diapers" or comes in jab her several times without saying anything. Her attitues and vibe is always like "I hate working here or I hate kids". 3. They are a big fan of the pharmaceutical solicitated products. CeraVue, auqaphor, enfamil. specially Aquaphor! I was told by all the Docs and Nurses there, just "put that Sh*t on everything!". When I went to the specialist for second opinion, I was told they don't recommend these because of the potential allergic reactions. Turned out my baby was allergic to Lanolin in Aquaphor, sulfate in Ceravue and cows protein to Enfamil. How did they never ever thought of that??? 4. never ask me questions or listen to my story. It's always go straight to the diagnose. thats why they have been wrong so many times. How would you just look at a rash and say oh that's eczema! without asking me if there has been any changes to her life? The other specialist listened to my story about her health history for 20 mins then made the diagnose. Here, they just look at you and be like, I think it is this... 5. "I don't know why" is the answer for a lot things. Not expecting them to know everything about a child, but If I ask" why is my baby making pop noise with her mouth right after eating or shaking her head violently before bed", the answers were always "I don't know that one". Not, it could be... lets try... 6. never can get a hold of anyone. If you call, voicemail. you can never get a hold of the front desk. I sometimes just want to get a dosage form or check on a balance, voicemail! You will wait 24Hrs for a call back or longer or Ever. if you send them a message to the Doc, you will be required to come in. Everytime. Which is fine, but don't give me a NP. I paid for a doc's evaluation, not a nurse! read more

I would never recommend the pediatric group to anyone. As someone in the healthcare field, I was appalled that there is no after hour answering service or contact number when visiting my grandchildren over the weekend. This is the second time this has happened over the past two months. Most health insurance companies require providers to have accommodations for after issues. This is simply unacceptable. My daughter will be looking for a new group as soon as possible. We ended up at Urgent Care where my granddaughter was diagnosed with an ear infection. Although painful and she needed to be seen, this was not an emergency. What an incredible waste of health insurance dollars when this could have been easily handled by her pediatrician. read more

Took the kids to see Dr. Temple and Jenna for their second annual check-up in the Covid era. I was so pleasantly surprised at how efficiently everything was being run in such uncertain times. Online check-in, direct to room, masks, and other necessary precautions being taken. So appreciated as a parent with 2 vulnerable littles. My kids love Dr. Temple and he did not disappoint. The talk of unicorns and Minecraft free flowed as he moved through the check-ups. We discussed the new Delta variant and timelines for vaccinations for the kids. We have been with Beansprouts Pediatrics for almost 5 years now. Our now teens have seen Dr. Grant, Dr. Courtney and Dr. Temple. While it might be difficult to book a last minute visit sometimes, the service you get is totally worth it. Please be mindful that during Covid times, labor is scarce (I have a business and I can tell) and immediate call backs are harder as there are often few staff available to answer an increasing number of calls (due to Covid and other illnesses this summer). All the doctors and nurses, Jenna is the sweetest, are very compassionate and take time to see and talk to your kid. Something rare in the medical profession these days. In addition, there is a messaging system for current patients that works very well in communicating with your doctors. Dr. Brian Temple has been our primary care for the past few years and he great! The staff and doctors at bean sprouts are fantastic with both my boys ( 2.5 yrs & newborn). They have 3 locations and early/late and weekend hours to accommodate as many tiny patients as possible. We have always had amazing care here .. they listen to your needs and concerned and truly care about the well being of your babies! thank goodness for beansprout! i am a first time parent and so far, with the help of dr. temple and the wonderful beansprout staff, we have managed to keep the world's cutest baby alive and happy for 4 whole months! when looking for a pediatrician, i polled my neighborhood to get recommendations. literally received about 30 out of 36 recommendations for this place. which was 1. pretty reassuring that this was a good choice, but 2. it worried me that it might be too busy. but we gave it a go and i am so glad that we did. it is busy, but definitely not overrun. we have had no problems getting appointments and i don't think that we have ever had to wait more than 5-10 minutes. the BEST part about beansprout: like i said, i am a first time parent. i know that people have been bearing and rearing children for a long time with a fairly high success rate, and even with all the resources available to me, do you have any idea how often i think "what the hell am i doing!?"? but NO one there has EVER made me feel bad or embarrassed or stupid. i have called that nurse line with so many questions and have always gotten thorough and genuine support. dr. temple just loves eleanor and makes both my husband and me feel so much more confident and happy parents! read more

We saw Dr. Temple initially because we needed to see somebody quick about a non-stop crier. Not only was he available but, more importantly, he knew his stuff. He didn't dismiss the incessant crying as "colicky baby" - I'd heard that for 3 months straight from umpteen doctors. He held the little man for a bit and diagnosed acid reflux. Spot on. After the med kicked in, 80% less crying. That, and Dr. Temple is internationally experienced. Our baby was born in India and he knew the quality of vaccines, their schedules, etc., for so many countries and was very aware of the differences between US and foreign-born babies, racial and ethnic differences, etc. That's very hard to find. Medical knowledge is of course paramount but bedside manner is important too. On that front, Dr. Temple excels as well. You are not rushed through an appointment. He takes the time to listen to you and does his best. He really seems to love kids and international medicine. Beyond the doctor, when choosing a pediatrician, the office organization is very important. As it should be, Beansprouts has separate well and sick child areas. You certainly don't want your well child sitting next to a sneezing sick child in the waiting room. Wait time is minimal. Appointments are respected. I don't like seeing a nurse practioner. Beansprouts has them but I've never been shunted off to one. In fact, the nurse practioners work not instead of, but in tandem with, the doctor. So much so that I love Jenna, Dr. Temple's nurse practioner and feel very comfortable meeting with her, calling her, etc. It's a wonderful team and Jenna is well-traveled, even been to India. Love her! This is a well-run office that you can trust. We live about 30 miles away but would drive twice that for them. read more

Long over due! Dr.grant's (gentle and sweet manner) And Dr. Temple (funny and ability to put a child at ease) are top notch. My daughter Allie has a complex congenital heart defect and both doc's have been on the ball, to make sure that she continues to stay healthy or identifying a mild case of pneumonia. We have been able to get in on the same day appointments and the staff are sweet and very friendly! We have since moved, but feel so blessed that my 2 girls had 2 wonderful doc's. read more

Oh my god, I love Beansprout so much. We've been patients for almost a year now, and I have nothing but wonderful things to say about them. We love Dr. Grant as our primary Doctor for our two little girls, but we've seen Dr. Temple as well during walk in visits, and he's also great. The PA's are also both incredibly friendly and good at what they do. We always feel listened to and cared for at Beansprout, the doctors take your concerns very seriously and are never dismissive of your thoughts about your child's symptoms. The walk in hour from 8-9AM is a straight up godsend. I'm sure it creates some long days for them, but it's so, so handy and I'm incredibly thankful that they do it. Go with Beansprout! Dr. Danielle's Beansprout Pediatrics is fabulous! Such a refreshing atmosphere! The office is decorated with beautiful photos & painted lime green just like a bean sprout! The front office could not have been more friendly. One of the most important things I look at when selecting a business or caretaker involved with the care of my son is to find people who have a genuine interest in the wellbeing of my child. In the thirteen months since my son was born I have been nothing but impressed by the respect I am given when I call, work with reception and billing, as well as anytime we show up and are seen. Reception is always so sweet and engaging with my son. They go above and beyond to ensure we have a good experience. LOVE Lauren and McKenzie. The nursing staff is always responsive and respectful with my concerns... as a first time mom, my concerns are never dismissed or belittled... and Dr. Grant is just fantastic! Not sure it's possible to leave a negative review of this practice. Every single provider we have ever seen has been outstanding. All of the nurse practitioners and physicians are top notch. We have mainly seen Courtney (PNP) with our toddler and Dr. Temple with our newborn. This is our third pediatrician's office to go to before we finally found our home. I have left messages and called to speak to providers at the others, and either don't get called back or receive a call back from office staff just saying "schedule an appt.". These providers return your phone calls themselves the same day. Dr. Temple is just phenomenal. Not only is he a very well educated and trained physician, he is very personable and helps to ease concerns. Courtney is also a wonderful PNP and I trust her fully. We were in town visiting Austin for ACL when my 8 month old daughter developed an allergic reaction to a prescription she was on. I initially called another pediatrician who didn't do 'one time visits' and would not see her. Beansprout Pediatrics welcomed us with open arms and were extremely thorough and helpful. My older 14 year old son goes to to see Dr Temple. He treats him with respect. He always comes in and talks directly to my son and asks for his feedback and opinions. It's very refreshing having someone who doesn't talk down or around him. I was pleased to get a well visit appointment for the following day considering that it was a week before the first day of school. Our wait time was very minimal which is a great indicator of a well organized office.
