The first time I went to Schlotzsky's was with my mom when I was about 12 years old at the East Wash location in Madison. I fell in love with "The Original" sandwich after the first bite. That store has since closed and I've found myself miserable as a Madison resident with no Schlotzsky's nearby. Luckily, I have a new reason to visit the Appleton area which is home to this wonderful restaurant. I've been to this specific location a few times in the last year and each time it has gotten better (if that's even possible because it was amazing the first time). Needless to say, the staff and service is great, clean restaurant, and delicious food. I am a lifelong customer for sure. read more

I can see why no one has posted a review for this location in almost a year. I seriously cannot fathom what happened to this place. It had been 4 years since I've been here (or any location). What I just received was not even close to what I remember. The Tuscan wrap I ordered with extra crispy bacon was the grossest thing I've taken a bite of in a longgggg time. The bacon was flaccid, to the point it was almost raw. It was orange and light pink in color (WHAT). The tomatoes were pale pink and tasted like dirty water. Two bites in and this was tossed in the trash. My fiancé ordered a salad. The first piece of chicken he bit into had a tendon in it (I could hear it as he crunched down). That was thrown in the garbage. $19 for a salad and wrap. NINETEEN DOLLARS. For a salad and a wrap. DO NOT EAT HERE. You are better off at McDs or any fast food place. I'm absolutely never the person to go on here and make reviews because I typically do not care much to do so. But I have been going to this place for many years and the last 3 times I went here the place is kind of gross. the soda machine had black chunks of gross shit in every single soda I tried out of the gun. the floors are so sticky my shoes almost came off because they got stuck to the ground. the entire business needs a thorough cleaning. the soda machine looks like us hasn't been cleaned since 2014. food was fine, as always. but come on: the place is GROSS read more

So many soggy sandwiches lately. I understand the flaccid bacon comment now. They need to spread the meat out before toasting it, when you put it in a giant pile you get extra wet, slimy meat that your sandwhich loves to soak up the juices from instead of toasted crispness. So the smoked turkey breast original was not that gratifying taste wise. The bread wasn't fresh, and actually a bit too much, I would prefer a thinner cut. The smoked flavor did not stand out at all, it just tasted like meat, not really even like turkey. The lettuce and tomato did what they were supposed to. Now, the Cinnabon, decatent. Dining area typical cafeteria style, nothing exciting here. I see they do cater as well as provide fundraising. Well this served my Schotzky craving, so I am good for about another year. read more

When I lived in Colorado years ago, I loved Schlotsky's. Seeing this one when I moved to Wisconsin 7 years ago, I gave it a try and had a bad experience; the same crime perpetrated upon me throughout my life putting things on my food that I specifically told them NOT to. That was it for me, I haven't been back since. Last week, I had the same type of experience at Jersey Mike's and then Cousins. I hate things that most people love and am allergic to one of them. When I say DON'T put these things on my food, it's very simple - DON'T. I went to Schlotsky's last night and gave them another try. After all, it's been 6 years. I was met by a friendly, perky young lady and when I asked about the chances of getting a sandwich made correctly, she told me that she was the Manager and the chances were about 100%. I ordered a French Dip calzone WITHOUT the (red) onions that it usually comes with. The young man at the grill overheard and already knew the score when she want and followed up with him to make sure that he followed the instructions on the ticket. The calzone was excellent! There were no red onions anywhere to be seen, the sandwich was made exactly as I asked for! Take note Jersey Mike's and Cousin's of Neenah - it absolutely CAN be done, just follow t he customer's instructions! Schlotsky's of Appleton, I will be back and soon. When ordering, you could see back into the prep kitchen. There was food all over the counters, the floors looked like they had not been cleaned in months. The help was cursing loudly. I dined in and there was not a clean table in the place with only 1 table being occupied while I was the only other person in the place. Trash cans over flowing. Food came out quick and was just thrown together. Then all 3 employees went outside. 2 smoking and neither washed hands after when they went to make the next customers food. This is not the first time I have witnessed ALL the above issues at this location. It's a shame because the sandwiches are amazing. Please fix these things before you are shut down. read more

So I placed an order for a roast beef on dark rye. With only mustard, Swiss and meat. That's it. I clarified a few times with the cashier. I ordered another sandwich that came out correct, but the first sandwich was wrong. I clarified to the kid at the pick up window. Then an older guy, not wearing his mask properly, seemed confused at my request. He couldn't understand why I wasn't happy with receiving lettuce tomatoes and onion on that sandwich, which I specifically requested NOT to be on the sandwich. I know we all have to wear our masks. And I felt like I was pretty crystal clear; but your cashiers need to listen extra hard to special requests. read more

Drove 1 1/2 hours to the Schlotzkey in Appleton on to be told the are closing early when it was only 6:20 pm and it they wanted to close at 7:00pm and I could only order to go and the sign on the door said open till 8:00pm and she was rude about it as well read more

While waiting for our food I read some of the reviews and wondered what we would be eating. However, after eating our sandwiches and salads, I had to do a review to say how wonderful everything was. The bread was fresh and delicious, and all the ingredients were wonderful. The place was packed so obviously others know how wonderful this place is. Plus the price can't be beat. read more

I used to go all the time to get lunch, but for some reason have not been for awhile. So needless to say, I was pretty excited to go again since I was in town. First complaint, got to the table and looked at my receipt and had sticker shock! I ordered a medium sandwich combo which included medium drink and bag of chips, total came to just under $10! ! So finally get my sandwich, not toasted the way they used to always serve them, and I know the cashier never asked me if I wanted it toasted. Strike two! Sandwich was good but not great. And as far as I am concerned, will not come back for that kind of service or cost. :( read more

Terrible service! Rude staff! Guy in front of me ordered Cinnabon rolls in addition to his food. The girl at register appeared annoyed and was grabbing the rolls with an attitude as though she was being put out, then drops them on the floor. She couldn't figure out how to do refund, then manager comes out irritated and says "what do you want me to do I am backed up with orders" then said manager attempts to give gift certificate instead of refund. Customer says, "I won't be back just give me my money back" We had ordered on line to skip the line in store yet we still had to wait in line behind everyone that was ordering. What is the purpose of on line ordering, that's why people order on line. Dont get me wrong, I don't mind waiting in line, but when staff is rude and service is poor, I'd rather not. Had I not pre-paid I would have left. Food is great but like the guy in front of me, I won't go back. It's sad as their service never used to be like that, but the last 2 times I've been there service was awful. read more

We went in for business lunch. Cashier named candy very rude while taking our orders. She threw our drink cups at us. And acted as though we were pests to walk in and place an order. My daughter and I recently stopped in to Schlotsky's to order sandwiches to go. I used to love their sandwiches and was excited to order food. I was so disgusted by the uncleanliness of the place. On the cutting table where food was being prepared was someone's cell phone and keys, right in the middle of the food. The food is on point, just like I always remember it. I honestly wish that there were more schlotskys but most of them have closed, so whenever I get to Appleton this is where I go to eat. Can't go wrong with their food....really...sandwiches ..pizzas , salads, or soup...everything I've ever had has been nothing short of really tasty. For me though the bread makes it. So why the 3 star review? Like others the prices are kinda high for what you get think especially compared to their competitors . Then at this location specifically the counter staff always seems frazzled and like they need to be doing 20 other things in addition to taking your order.
