Super not impressed! I bought into all the 4 & 5 star reviews and decided to try this place. I'm always looking for a good Italian restaurant and had high hopes. The restaurant is clean and decorated nicely. Feels like a Vegas restaurant. The prices are outrageous in my opinion. We got the Cesar salad to share it was way over dressed and soggy. We also got the special pizza to share. The crust was descent but the sauce was terrible. Tasted very acidic and lacking spices. I could barely eat one slice. My kids wouldn't touch the leftovers. We each also had 2 drinks, the wine was ok, beer was ok. Our server was friendly enough. Maybe we ordered the wrong things. We won't be back. I don't mind paying good money for a delicious experience but I don't like feeling ripped off for subpar food. Our bill was nearly $95 w/tip! We shared! This place is delicious! They serve lunch and dinner. We went for lunch and got the lamb burger. It tasted amazing, I loved the creamy cheese and the pepper jam that was included. The fries were a little overcooked but not bad. The desserts were also delicious. The panna cotta was my favorite, there cherries on top which elevated the dish. The tiramisu was also quite tasty. As for the restaurant the decorations were beautiful and the tables were fabulous. The service was also great, we were served by Oli and he was very friendly and polite. Upon entering Scelto, we were immediately struck by its charming and inviting atmosphere. The warm, modern décor, coupled with soft lighting and elegant table settings, set the stage for a memorable dining experience. The flavors of the meal were most definitely commendable! The various butters provided with the bread appetizer were delectable. The Pappardelle was cooked to perfection, slightly al dente and velvety. The tanginess from the sumac combined with the asparagus and sweetness from the cooked fennel created an absolutely divine scallop dish Despite the quality of the ingredients and the skillful preparation, all the dishes seemed to lack the boldness and depth that comes from a well-balanced seasoning profile... however a dash of salt proved sufficient in helping elevate each of the dishes properly. First time at Scelto but it will not be our last'! Service and food were outstanding ESPECIALLY without the drive into downtown SLC! We had the flat iron steak and the scallops as well as the calamari and tiramisu before and after. It's rare to find this kind of dining experience in Utah but out this on your list! We went to Scelto last night for a birthday. It was odd to see how nice the interior is compared to the businesses located in the same plaza. The ambiance is wonderful. The staff was very pleasant and excellent when making referrals. It was nice that the servers were so attentive when our drinks were running low. The charcuterie was so delicious. I ordered the Pappardelle and it was so delicious. I understand that goat cheese isn't for everyone but it paired well with the pasta and mushrooms. I spoke with the staff and they suggested a wonderful Barbera Italian wine. My wife and son were very pleased with the pizza and salad they ordered. The entire restaurant is clean and the staff is well dressed. The owner and manager made the rounds to chat with customers and were very engaging, We will definitely come back to Scelto again. Ambiance and service was fantastic, the food was a disappointment. Scelto is trying to be an East side Capital Grille and have failed to match CG's quality and quantity of food. Their food was a severe disappointment; mashed potatoes were more like a drizzle purée, the heirloom carrots were undercooked, the $35 veal was about an ounces worth of meat (I'm not exaggerating) , the 8oz ribeye steak was more like 5oz, the bread plate was two very small pieces of focaccia and 2 greasy pieces of flat bread with more butter and oil than bread. Our bill for 3 people was $234. My two cents, if you're going to spend that kind of money on a special event, like we did for our son's birthday, make the trip to the Capital Grille. read more

I had a really great experience tonight! Went out with one of my girlfriends for galentines and it was so fun. The food was really delicious! I got the Capellini and it was really good. We got the Calamari and Bread Plate for appetizers and they were both great. The bread plate came with oil and vinegar, and lemon butter. SO good! The decor was really nice too. I loved the vibe and the staff was great! I have honestly never felt more welcome at a restaurant. My friend and I got carried away with talking once we finished eating and ended up being there for 3 hrs total. We tried Scelto for the first time last night. I really wanted to like it, but it fell flat. The Bianca pizza was good, but not great. It felt like it was missing something. We also had a charcuterie, which was disappointing. The meats were not the best quality and it also wasn't a great balance, almost everything on the board was salty. The charcuterie would have benefited from the addition of honey or something similar. We'll probably give it one more try in a month or so, and hopefully they will have worked out some of the kinks. read more

Three out of four of us were very disappointed in our entrees. Pappardelle was extremely bland and noodles were overcooked. Carbonara was also very bland and the noodles came out from the kitchen sticking together. We were looking forward to a new place in the neighborhood but will not be going back. This restaurant is the real deal whoever designed and decorated the place gets a 10 all of the employees made us feel so comfortable and it was a very relaxing atmosphere. Now, as far as the food goes, I am typically the most plain Jane in my family. Fortunately, this place has an incredible mixture of both. I even sampled the other dishes, which were amazing. People have been way too negative of this place. My wife and I went on our date night here and it was excellent. We shared the Bianca pizza and the short rib. Both of which had excellent flavor. The service was by far my favorite part. Our server, Giuseppe, clearly knows Italian food extremely well and was well-spoken. The only thing I will agree with is it does get a bit pricey. However, it's meant to be a high end Italian restaurant and the prices reflected that. I'd recommend it for any date night/double date. read more

I wanted to share my terrible Valentine's Day experience. We made a dinner reservation nearly two months ago. After finding a babysitter and getting dressed up and excited for a romantic evening, we show up and are immediately informed that they are ONLY offering a prix fixe menu for $95/person. This was very disappointing and frustrating for multiple reasons. First, this menu was never mentioned when we made the reservation or at any time leading up to our reservation. I was even on their website last night looking at the menu and saw zero mention anywhere on there about this valentines change. Next, I have an autoimmune disease that limits the types of foods I can eat, I was able to find some options on the normal menu but the prix fixe menu did not accommodate for this, so I'm not going to pay for food I can't eat. I asked the hostess about it and she said it was the managers decision to spring this surprise menu on everyone with reservations. I understand that they think they're some swanky new dinner spot, but this is an awful first impression and we will likely head downtown for all of our Italian meals going forward. read more
