We have been shopping here since 2012, slowly finding pieces to coordinate with our mid-century Scandinavian furniture, the service is always great. We purchased a beautiful leather Ekornes recliner last July, but I've had an asthmatic response to the fumes from the leather, despite allowing it 3 months time to clear out the smell. I haven't been able to sit in the chair at all. On 10/25/20 "chatted" on line to inquire, and was directed to the store. I left a message for Kevin, and spoke to him to determine if there was anything I could do to clear the odors. I didn't expect such an empathetic response to my customer inquiry. Kevin contacted the Ekornes sales rep for suggestions, he had none. Kevin has been so gracious in taking care of this customer, attempting to help me find a suitable chair to fit my short body. I returned the chair for a cheerful refund, and will return to Scandinavian Designs based on the great service. read more

My husband and I were very pleased with the large selection of contemporary items they carry. Art was very helpful. We gave him an idea of our personal style and he brought out the appropriate selection of items to view. He even provided a rendering of our space to ensure the items selected would fit. The prices are reasonable and the quality is better than many of the stores we had visited. At no time did anyone make us feel rushed or unwelcome. I like modern furniture and especially teak or furniture resembling teak. Over the years, we have purchased several pieces of furniture from Scandinavian designs and found them all to be excellent. Teak is not very accessible any more so I have found similar pieces at Scandinavian Designs that fit with furniture I already have. read more

If you want top notch customer service, look for Kimo Barcelona. I had been here three times before I finally made my living room + dining purchase. And each time, he gave me undivided attention, was patient and gave my my space (not pushy) as I circled the store- you know those indecisive customers that don't know what they want but spend a couple hours at the store? Yes. That.was.me! It has been a pleasure working with Kimo. I'm confident that my furniture will last a lot longer than my peeling pleather couch (peeled in 2 years!) I purchased from Ashley Furniture. For a couple more hundreds dollars, I'm confident I will get my money's worth with my top grain leather couch from Scandinavian! I just bought a dresser from Scandinavian Designs. I had shopped there years ago when it was Plumbers. My sales person, Kevin Zirbel, was extremely knowledgeable, friendly and easy to work with. The on duty manager, Mark, was also very nice and helpful. The delivery personal were on time and carefully placed the dresser upstairs in the guest room. All in all, it was a great experience. I am very unhappy with the service I recieved at this location. I bought a desk there and asked if they would deliver it. They said there was a $95 charge. I told them I wouldnt be able to fit the desk as is in my car. So they charged me the delivery fee. It was just delivered and it came disassembled in two small boxes that would have fit in my car. So basically I paid the $95 delivery fee for nothing. They were very dishonest with me when I was purchasing the desk. The two boxes the desk came in could have fit in any car. I have a mitsubishi eclipse (very small) and it could have fit. I called the store to complain about their service and they really didn't care. I will not shop there again. read more

Just received replacement chairs and ottoman for a set that we had purchased when the store was Plummer's. The finish on the old set had started to flake off. Art, the store manager was very helpful at getting them swapped out with new fabric upholstered items at minimal cost to us. Bought dining table and 4 chairs. They arrived few days later at store warehouse. Drove my truck to pick them up (quite difficult to fit into my small truck because store manager gave wrong information about the box dimensions) but found out 4 chairs were wrong when opened from home. Called back and instructed to put 4 chairs on my truck and brought them to store. I said no, it was your mistake. You have to delvery the correct chairs to us and take your other chairs away. A week went by, they indicated the correct chairs arrived but said that they do not have truck to bring them to us until many days later. I cannot believe that the store manager (Gary) promised me the delivery date and now claimed there is no truck. For God's sake, this is a big furniture store but there is no truck? read more

I recently purchased a couch from this store. The service was amazing. I fell in love with a couch set - but after giving the salesman Art my room dimensions he sketched the layout for me, and the couches i wanted wouldn't fit - he sold me a sectional that would- which was $2000 cheaper than the set I wanted - I got it delivered on Sat. and he was so right - perfect fit. Nice modern designs, fair quality. Never received a courtesy call that our item had arrived. Drove 30 minutes to pick up our purchase only to be told we could not because it was in the 'warehouse'. Waste of time, very frustrating. Hours are listed until 8pm and only while listening to an extended message does it say anything about 'warehouse' hours. read more

I bought two nice leather chairs, a desk, and some artwork to help furnish my office. They were all delivered on time and have been great additions. I am a big fan of the style of products at Plummers. The only downside for me is that they can be a little pricey at times. read more

BUYER BEWARE: All products defective or not that you return will be subject to a 10% restocking fee. I tried to exchange my accent chair for another and was told it didn't matter. They will not even wave it if you buy a more expensive piece of furniture? Wow.. I am not certain what to say. read more

over priced "IKEA" (less-than) quality. my entertainment thing that holds my dvds is literally falling apart... and this is after trying to fix it twice (the bottom has dropped out) ... if i could give it a zero star i would. the chair i purchased is still functional (however it's not used that often) i couldn't be more disappointed in the quality. read more

I have bought at Plummers many times and went on today to buy a dining table that my husband saw 2 weeks ago for $399. Today we came to what is now Scandinavian designs and the same table is now $550!!! We couldn't believe it. When I asked the sales person she said, yes a lot of items went up in price. By $150??? I actually believe the showroom has a decent selection of furniture, however, what really ticked me off was the post-sales support. There is none. You do not exist after the sale is completed. The sales personnel is not receptive to feedback, nor want to improve their SOPs to benefit their customers. When you point out a "flaw" in their support, all they can say is "Oh yea... that makes sense". And do nothing about it. So, you have to love what you are buying there, otherwise, it's not worth it. read more

Now known as Scandinavian Design,...I cannot say enough great things about this store. My husband and I bought two of the electronic reclining leather love seats about three years ago. We love them. They still look new and have become a favorite in our family room. Due to my husband's military service, we recently moved. The packers appear to have done a pretty awful job and we found ourselves in Florida with two great couches and none of the electronic pieces necessary to make the reclining work (I looked through all the boxes multiple times). All it took was an email to the store and I had the manager contacting me to find out what I needed and then he spent the next week locating the appropriate parts and sending them to me via UPS. He did not charge me for the electronic parts, nor the UPS shipping fee. It appears you do get what you pay for at Plummers/Scandinavian Design. It was a high quality couch and it came with high quality service! Hats off to this store for assisting a military family! read more

I gave this business 2 stars because they have a great selection of merchandise. However, their customer service is terrible. I ordered some chairs and some bar stools which I was told to pick up from the warehouse in the back in a week. I brought my truck around to the back and there were some men sitting around who never got up to ask what I needed. They did find my order when I showed them the receipt and very haphazardly loaded the back of the pickup. Some of the chairs were wrapped some were not. Some of the wrapping blew off on the way home. When I unloaded them I noticed that 2 of the stools were not assembled correctly and called the store. I ended up taking them apart and reassembling them myself to save myself the trip back. After reporting this to the salesman I was told that I would get a call back from the warehouse manager. No call. No apology. No nothing. Ever! read more
