Went here two separate days and had a great experience both times. Never once did we feel pressured to make a purchase quickly and we felt comfortable taking our time checking out the furniture! Though someone introduced themselves to us both times, they did not follow us around like other furniture stores, but they made themselves available whenever we had questions. Great customer service and they provide a military discount! Can't speak for the other items they carry, but the quality of the couch we got is great! So we were lamp hunting. We had balked spending $400 on a small desk lamp so we were hunting for a quality but cheaper alternative. We have previously been successful finding quality furniture at this chain so we ventured in. It is a large store and has tons of displays. They have upgraded several of their lines and continue to mix mid century modern styles with decent prices. Unlike your average Ikea pieces these are built to last. We were successful in finding a suitable lamp only to find it on backorder and unavailable in the timeframe we needs. Bummer but such is life. I wish I would have left when the salesperson that was ringing me up, stopped to help another customer look up items online. Ugh, I so wish I had! So, I purchased 3 items and then when I red the invoice at home, I realized they were all veneer so I called and cancelled the entire order. The young man on the phone was extremely rude while telling me it will take 6-8 weeks to get a refund check because I had lost the credit card since I had made the purchase. I said that was unacceptable and asked for corporate headquarters phone number and he refused. Deplorable customer service. So I looked it up and contacted them, explained the situation and the very nice young lady told me, no, we can still issue you a credit on your credit card without having the physical card. Then she sent me an email stating she was wrong and it would take apprx 6 weeks. Seriously, buyer beware!!! read more

Do not shop here. The products they sell are marketed as high end but they are actually low quality garbage. They don't last. My 3 year old couch from this store is falling apart. The frame is completely broken in multiple places. I'm 200lbs. No pets or kids. I just sit down to have my coffee in the morning and watch tv at night. The store managers are extremely rude and will do anything to avoid responsibility. The solution they offered me was a small amount of store credit to try to bait me into making another purchase. Please do the world a favor and stop giving business to this store that purely wants to maximize profits even at the cost of screwing people over. Read the other negative reviews. Purchased several pieces from Scandinavian Designs - working with Jason as our sales rep was a great experience. Jason was able to get us a couch that was on back order at an accelerated pace by diverting from another warehouse. Now I have somewhere comfy to sit while writing this review. In addition, the delivery service is great because the furniture is delivered and setup with zero effort on the customers part which is very nice! Last but not least, there was a section of the sectional couch that had some unusual wear/pilling on the fabric from the factory and Jason was able to get it replaced in a timely manner with no additional cost. 5 stars! read more

They are great in customer service. There was a fabric defect in the bed frame I received from them. The delivery guy took a picture of the defect and sent it to the company. I was looking for modern, sleek leather recliners and, after visiting many stores, finally found Scandinavian Designs. They had just what I was looking for. The only downside was, delivery was to be in 6 months. Six months later, the deliverymen produced two items, one of which was correct. So, without much hassle, the mistake was acknowledged and the correct reclining sofa was ordered and, nearly 6 months later, was delivered. Purchased the Celeste sofa. When we got it home we noticed writing on one of the back cushions. It looks like the factory wrote on the fabric roll then used it on our sofa. Also, the fabric on the sofa is loose and they factory did a horrible job lining up the fabric. One last thing, the sofa has countless loose strands of threads throughout. I called them about some kids bedroom furniture that I had seen online (but was not available online) and was informed that they wouldn't arrive for 4 months (due to COVID shipping delays). Josh went out of his way to call me with updates regarding the pieces I was interested in and called other stores when his store got other pieces in the same collection. Even though we had preferred not to wait that long, we really like the design and customer service was so fantastic that we placed an order. (Fingers crossed that they'll arrive well before the estimated timeframe.) I can't attest to the quality of the furniture (we never went into the store), but their prices are reasonable. I love Scandinavian designs and it's my favorite furniture store. The best designs and the nicest sales staff. One star off because they won't post negative reviews on their products. Our Gustav chair springs fell apart within 3 years and they wouldn't let us put that in a review. Also, most often you won't be able to purchase and take away from the store the same day. You will either have to ship or come back and pickup. We were told by the upholsterer that the frame gave way and they had used small nails. Repair cost $225 read more

I used to love this company, we bought quite a few pieces from them. In August of last year we bought a leather living room set which was delivered in February, after a few weeks the head rests started sagging. They sent a repair guy and agreed the headrests were defective and they would replace them. That was 7 months ago. Store manager referred the matter to Art, the regional manager who called to apologize and said he would take ownership of the issue and get it fixed. About 14 years ago I ordered 2 sofas from this place back when it was called Plummers. I told the salesman Kevin about how impressed I was that the sofas have held up well - cushions are STILL nice and firm with no sagging and the frame is STILL solid. It's because of their high quality and great service that I decided to return this weekend and buy another sofa from them. Kevin seemed like the one holding down the fort helping everyone and I really liked his style (lets you browse at your pace and checks in periodically). He wasn't pushy and he knew his stuff. I went home and pulled up the sofa online to show my family only to see a post by Scandinavian Designs stating that the sofa only holds 250 pounds (lbs). So I called Kevin and told him I need to cancel - there's no way I can buy a sofa that only holds 250!!! So he says "let me do some research and contact the manufacturer and I'll let you know. 250 pounds is me and my CAT!" We laughed about it and I said "okay cool, thanks Kevin! Yeah if you can send something in writing that says how much it holds max that would be helpful otherwise I'd need to cancel." Cool. He calls me back (I'm at work) and says, "they said it holds 750lbs. I'll forward you the email they sent me." Yayy, awesome, I'll check when I get home! I get home and check my email, and all they'll say is it holds 250 per "seat" but won't specify what a "seat" is. So I call today, Kevin is off until Friday, and Dave the manager gives me attitude and says "I sent you that email, did you read it? It says it's 250lbs per seat." I tell Dave, yes, but it doesn't say how many "seats" so it still doesn't tell me if it's 2 seats (i.e. 500lbs max) or if it's considered 3 seats (750lbs). He says "it's 750lbs." But he will not email that. -_- It should NOT be this difficult to get an answer to the standard question - what's the max weight capacity of this sofa? But somehow Scandinavian Designs, Stanton (manufacturer) and Pacific Industries (distributor?) are playing semantics with me when I just want to know if it'll hold 500lbs max or 750. I informed Dave today over the phone that if it's 500lbs I will cancel the sofa order; it's supposed to be delivered tomorrow morning and he hasn't gotten back to me. So we'll see how it goes tomorrow. I'll update my review as necessary. I'm giving it 3 stars instead of 1 star for now because my buying experience with Kevin was great. UPDATE: I received a call from Art - the general manager - following my review and he apologized for the unprofessional experience I had with Dave and for Dave's considerable lack of customer service. Art personally followed up with the manufacturer, got a firm answer **in writing** on the max weight capacity (750lbs), and sent it to me via email. The sofa was delivered and set up, and I could not be more satisfied with the way Art handled the situation. He listened, was empathetic, and resolved it well. read more

We really like the design and unique pieces in the store. The one complain that we have as a returned customer is they NEVER contact you when your items are ready for pick up. I have to call them, and not even once they apologize for dropping the ball and forgetting to follow up. The simple solution/suggestion is for the sales team to add a calendar reminder and inform the customers that their items arrived(not too challenging, or an unreasonable request). Other than that good quality of furniture and happy with their products. read more

I would give 1 star for the customer service but I don't believe the business owner should be affected from the service I received. I ordered dining set whice arrived about 1p days after my order, which is great especially now, since I was looking to get something asap. The day of delivery the delivery guy realized they didn't send the hardware for the table and what do I want them to do.. I was expecting him to contact customer service, the store manager, he said he can wait and I can call, so I did, I did not expect this response to be honest, the salesperson told me yeah it happenes, there is nothing we can do, the warehouse is closed no reason to even try and call them. It was 2 pm on a Wednesday and the warehouse is in Corona! He said the only way to fix it is to wait till the end of the day, cancel the sale and order it again (wait another 10 days) he did not apologize, or offered a compensation, just said it is what it is. I called the corporate that does not deal with stores, not customer service either. Too bad, I love their style and they just lost me as a customer. read more
