I live in Phoenix AZ & called the San Diego location too get info on having furniture shipped too Phoenix AZ. I have never purchased furniture without first viewing the furniture in the showroom & I was very reluctant..I spoke too David Britton at this location..He was very helpful... I am aware this company will be opening locations in Arizona..The Phoenix Arizona location appeared to be 3 or 4 months out from opening..David followed up with me after my initial conversation with him too inform me that one of the AZ locations will have a soft opening this month..I just want to say the Customer Service I received from David was outstanding. I am calling from out of state & David treated me with utmost respect. David Thanks for your time and help.. Michael read more

Loved our experience in this store. The furniture we purchased is great and we are VERY happy we purchased form Scandinavian Designs. Our salesperson, Jason (San Diego), was SIMPLY THE BEST. Excellent customer service from looking to delivery. read more

I love their furniture. Great quality and design. Customer service was excellent. I'm so happy with the purchase.

Dave was great! He numbered the drawers of the bureau so they went in easily after getting the bureau home! Great service, thank you!

It was a good experience to buy a furniture from Scandinavian Design. Impressed very knowledgeable and polite stuff. Delivery guys got my furniture to my home on 3rd floor and assembled. Very impressive. Good luck guys! read more

Plummers is now known as Scandinavian Design. It's located in the back of a large shopping complex. The store is large and has a great selection of living room, bedroom, dining room and library furniture. Their style is modern, simple and contemporary. It is similar to IKEA in taste but better quality. I can't say it's my favorite furniture store because their merchandise is overpriced (hefty shipping and assembly fee too) and the company does not care about customer service. We bought multiple items (over $5,000) and our representative said they could not give us a discount or provide complimentary shipping. Their items are beautiful and I would have come back to buy more but they don't seem to care about customer satisfaction or retaining their customers. No wonder the store is often empty.... At the end of the day, I would rather go to a store that has discounts and appreciates customers for their business. read more

The sales team is not pushy at all, and the product they sell is very good quality and unique compared to other furniture stores. The prices are fair as well! read more

What an easy and amazing experience. The selection was incredible and the delivery time was exactly what we were promised.

Absolutely love their style on furniture. We bought our dining set from this place few years back and now we are back for more items. Josh was our sales associate and he did a great job. Would definitely recommend this place if you like more of a modern/contemporary style furniture. read more

My husband and I went to the show room back in July 2020 (6 months ago) and ordered a sofa when they had their 15% off special. Made a deposit and was promised delivery sometime in September. Ok seems reasonable. I got a call at the end of September, not for delivery scheduling, but to inform me that because of Covid, shipment from overseas has been delayed. Ok fine. Kimo was the one who I was working with and said that it's now November. November came and went, got another call in December that it's not coming to their distribution center until Christmas and I will likely get it after the new year. Fine. 12/30/2020, Kimo called to schedule delivery for 1/6/2021. 01/05/2021 I got another call from Kimo asking when to deliver. He had forgotten to actually put it in the system, so now he's going to get manager approval for Saturday 1/9/21 delivery. Friday, 1/8/21, the manager called and said the distribution center loaded the wrong sofa. Long story short, no one can locate the sofa I ordered and corporate is not doing anything about it to compensate their mistakes. I have been super patient, but being a first time customer, this is the WORST experience. The business model and customer service Is absolutely appalling. I will NEVER come back and will never recommend this company to anyone! If you're considering buying from them, don't even bother wasting your time!!! They don't even deserve one star IMO. read more

Very nice showroom with lots of options for TV and media stand. Great price. Very attentive sales person.

I had to review my experience with Scandinavian Designs and especially Kimo our sales person. We went in looking for a set of recliners after weeks of research and stops at numerous high end furniture stores,Kimo introduced himself as we entered and showed us around to there different options, we were very particular with the style we were looking for,Kimo showed us this brand called Stressless(I need to write a whole review on these because there amazing)He explained the construction and craftsmanship of the chairs and gave us our space to look around the store and sit in all the chairs and of course the Stressless about 10 times,When we decided to seriously purchase these chairs Kimo did a great job researching when we could(really)receive the chairs. They are made I believe in Norway and we were made aware from Kimo and another furniture store I wont mention that delivery could take from 12-20 weeks depending on availability being shipped from Norway. So because we chose 2 Stressless Black Wing Chairs he believed they may have them in the warehouse in NJ and if so we should have them in 8-10 weeks. We really wanted to be assured that we could receive these in 8-10 weeks and not 12-20 weeks and Kimo did his research to assure us they had them there. So we gave our deposit and as promised they showed up at our house in 6 weeks!!!!!!!!Awsome!!!!!!And now for the best part,I for the heck of it just did a search of our chairs and they had(Stressless)put them on sale for the month of Mar which Kimo and all other stores they almost never do.So we stopped by the store to look at there rugs and I brought this to Kimo's attention and he immediately researched this and called me the next day to confirm they were refunding us a considerable amount of money, no questions asked! We were sooooo happy!!!!I was really expecting either a partial store credit, maybe refund of 1 chairs, maybe they couldn't do anyhing,We did not have a hi expectation,I mean the reality was is that at the time we bought them they were doing a Leather upgrade worth $100 per chair which we were very happy with so to have them honor the current incentive was really great,THIS IS HOW YOU DO BUSINESS!!!!!!!!!!We own a High End Salon in La Jolla,Ca and we talk to clients all day and I tell all of them how much we lovvvvveeee our new chairs and if there in the market for the most comfortable chairs in the world or any other Top Quality Furniture they MUST go see Kimo at Scandinavian Designs,THANK YOU KIMO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! read more

We've been to the San Diego store a few times and have purchased some great items here. The prices are almost too good to be true for uniquely styled furniture and accessories. The quality is pretty nice as well. We purchased a beautiful and practical desk for under $300. It's very sturdy and helps me stay organized and productive. In addition, the sales staff is low pressure and very helpful at guiding your purchasing decisions. Kevin, in particular was very patient, kind and knowledgeable. We have more shopping to do for our new home and we'll be back here. read more

Had to pick up a coffee table that was on backorder for 6 months vs having them deliver. My salesperson (since left) agreed that delivery for backordered coffee table would be delivered free-of-charge due to other items I had ordered and had taken delivery on previously I ordered all items at same time but coffee table was only item on severe backorder. Well, after the rep left they did not put it in the customer notes that he agreed free delivery. So I had to end up picking up and getting a neighbor help me get it out of my car and up my stairs. Not an ideal situation and I would never have bought the item if I knew I would get screwed in the end. read more

We were looking for some chairs to go with a kitchen table, and stopped by Scandinavian Designs. We were pleasantly surprised. The sales person that helped us, Gary, was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. He showed us a number of alternatives that could work. No high pressure sales tactics. The prices were extremely reasonable We were able to pick out what we liked, and he held them at their store until we were ready for them for about 3 weeks. Great service. Will definitely keep going back to the store as we need more furniture. Thanks. read more

I purchased a sectional couch from the Miramar store over 4th of July weekend. The delivery time was great however the couch was delivered defective. The delivery guys took photos and had a repair ticket created, I was told that I would be called a few days later. I wasn't. When I called they told me the parts would be a few weeks out. A few weeks later I called to find that the parts were a few more weeks out and they would call when they arrive. They didn't. I called and was told that the parts had arrived in the warehouse and that someone would call me to schedule the licensed repair in a few days. They didn't. You get the picture. 3 store visits and 6 phone calls later, my couch is just as defective as the day it was delivered and there is no repair date. I tried to return the couch and get a refund twice, once by phone and once in person, somehow each time the only person that could process such a request was "not working until tomorrow". They weren't. Long story short, this could have been a great experience and Scandinavian Designs would have a very satisfied, and likely repeat customer on their hands. The potential for a good experience is there, just hope that what you order arrives as intended. read more

Ordered my sofa, coffee table, entertainment cabinet for a couple of months ago. Got a phone call yesterday they're here ready to be delivered. I'm thankful it got here as the promised date. We waited for 6 months at another furniture store and ended up getting our money back due to no EAT from the manufacture. Scandinavian has the best contemporary furnitures at a reasonable pricing. Scandinavian Designs had great customer service. I was interested in a table but not sure of the lighting in the store. The rep carried a insert of the table outside to help our decision process. When it came to purchasing chairs for the table, their policy was very flexible. I took 4 chairs home to help make my decision. I was very happy with the customer service, the product and the price. Unfortunately, my enjoyment of Plummers has vanished. I ordered a chair to match the sofa and because I'm disabled I couldn't pick it up myself. When it got here the chair was completely different than our couch. It's larger than our kitchen table. We want to return it but they are still going to make us pay the fee. We just lost $190 on a chair we won't even have anymore. I let the corporate offices know that Arthur Gonzales was unprofessional and rude when he told me he was liked by everyone AND went to church all the time. Who shares that info with upset customers?! Corporate won't even wave the delivery fee either. I won't ever be shopping at Plummers again and I will not recommend them. I might just go out of my way to tell people my experience. Not a happy camper. :( read more

This place is quite a find (thanks, Jesse M). DW already covered most of it in his review, below. The store definitely has that "grown up IKEA" feel, but in a good way. And without the labyrinth. I came here looking for a TV stand, and after searching around, I ended up going with my most inexpensive option, a giant 82" wide affair at $230. The salespeople don't get all up in your shit, but were helpful once I approached them. The selection is great, the style is great, the build quality is pretty great, the prices are reasonable (shop around for this stuff - it gets pricey quick). Boring review over. :) read more

We recently had a great experience with Art at Scandinavian Design on Miramar Road. We shopped at several different furniture stores and many offered lower prices. We chose SD because of Art's interior design advice after we showed him photos of our condo We admitted we did not know what design worked for our East Village condo - let alone how to get started - but a neighbor insisted that we visit Art. Art understood our budget and our desire for a fresh urban look and patiently showed us several options, an experience we did not find at any of the other stores. When you are in need of an proficient interior advice - without the added costs of an interior designer - see Art at Scandinavian Design on Miramar Road. read more

Pros: Large Selection of "Scandinavian Styled" furniture. Next step up in quality for this sort of thing beyond IKEA. No cheesey restaurant. Can order a variety of different finishes beyond their stock. Cons: A little pricey, but not out of line. Check the boxes for damage... their warehouse staff are not overly cautious in handling the boxed, disassembled stuff. Yeah, you have to put most of the stuff together. Overall, I keep going back here for bookcases, enterainment centers, etc. Most of the particle board stuff at least has a real wood veneer, not the laminate/contact paper finish of the lower end-stuff. Pieces that I have picked up here seem to be holding up well through a couple of moves and 8+ years of service. read more

Basically wandered in here because everything else is closed on Sunday on Miramar Rd. Giant store with a huge selection of IKEA-esque furniture but of slightly higher quality. It all looks pretty but I just know if I took anything home, my kids and cat would scratch it before I even removed the sticker. Minimalist lines, lots of leather and acrylic finished. If you like modern, even mid-century, it's a bit of eye candy. Prices seem very reasonable. However, it took a couple of minutes for anyone to even greet me. I had to lock eyes twice with a salesman before he even said hello. And the place was empty. They will need to be a bit more inviting if they want to last in this market. The place was virtually empty of customers. read more
