This was my first time buying a mattress in my whole life because I had been sleeping on the same one for over 20 years. My wife and I heard from friends that Ortho Mattress was good so we decided to check them out first but planned on checking out multiple places before buying. We chose this place because it's the closest to where we live. We went in on Easter Sunday so the place was empty except for tons of mattresses and Jose. He was so friendly and knowledgeable! We never felt pressured and he never tried to upsell us. My "bullshit detector" never went off. He is a genuinely good and honest guy. He helped us find the exact mattress we wanted by asking really good questions and guiding us on how to test the mattresses, while explaining what each of them were made of and how that affects our sleep. I felt like I learned a lot! We did not need to go anywhere else. We bought the mattress the next day and had it delivered a few days later. The delivery guys were super efficient, moving our old bed to another room and setting up the new one all in under 15 minutes. Jose and Ortho Mattress made buying a new bed a simple and fun process! 10/10 would recommend. PS: We've been sleeping on it for over a week now and it's so comfortable! I bought a gel top cal king mattress. They never warned me not to move or store it on its side. I moved it into my garage for a week so new flooring could be installed. When I laid it back down, the gel had clumped at one end creating a giant lump. When I contacted Ortho corporate headquarters they came to inspect it and replaced it at no cost. I did have to dispose of the defective mattress and pay the $100 delivery fee for the new one. Kudos to Ortho, but the salesperson should have warned me about storing this type of mattress on its side. read more

I went to the location on 1092 El Camino Real after talking to a gentleman by the name of Justin on the phone a couple of nights before. It was like coming in and greeting an old friend. He recognized my voice coming through the door and welcomed me by my name. He had already planned out to show me the two mattresses I was debating myself over, and was happy to do all the bizarre "sleep tests" I suggested like jostling the bed and pretending to get in and out. I'm a light sleeper and an insomniac so Justin did everything short of pretending to snore (!) to help me decide which mattress would be more conducive to a good night's rest. My experience at this Ortho store was very unsatisfactory. The salesman's promised delivery did not happen as promised. Not even close. The details are boring but never ever leave a deposit and expect delivery on the day promised. I'm thinking mattress sales is comparable to buying a used car. They suck you in and don't deliver. It is in fact still going on as we speak, 5 months after the purchase we STILL have not received some of the items promised to us. First off, it's the second mattress I've got through these guys. Awesome quality. I had some bit of a fiasco getting the right one for me on the second round, and now I sleep wonderfully. I have back pain that really goes away with sleeping on their mattress. Both Matt and Teddy went completely over the top in dealing with getting me the right mattress. Lies! Avoidance Tactics, Bad...BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE and AWFUL MATTRESS!!!! So utterly dissappointed with Ortho mattress! I went in to get a mattress and the Manager, Teddy, talked up the Posteurpedic on sale pillow top. .he said that they only get to put these great mattresses on sale 1-2 times a year and it was one of the best in the store! Lie! So I bought it, the Day it got delivered and I slept on it, it was one of the worst mattresses I've ever slept on! It would slowly sink lower and lower and I had to hoist myself out of the divet it created just to turn on my side! The very next day I pulled it up online and it was $500 less for the exact same mattress on the internet! I went into Ortho and Teddy told me that the internet will charge up to $700 more dollars when checking out LIE!!! I went through check ...and he'ld have to talk to the regional manager who is out for the day and he would call me back! He didn't! I had to go back into the store in which I told him the mattress is defective and he should wave the fee...of course, he would talk to the Regional manager in 2 days and get back to me...! LIES! He never did! I went to another Ortho Mattress and the manager there said he would send an e-mail to her but she is going to be off for 2 weeks and would get back to me afterward! She didn't! I spoke to other people who got the very same mattress from Ortho and returned it the next day for the same reason! It sunk when you lay on it and was way softer then the store mattress!
