The customer service and quality of their product are below par. Customer service - nobody at the showroom takes responsibility nor do they even suggest how to remedy the situation. The mattress that was delivered (and not accepted) should never have left the factory. The corner was misshapen with extra fabric. The delivery person had nothing to say, basically not up to me or not my fault is the attitude of employees. The special order was not made to specifications so it did not fit the bed frame, too narrow and too long. The "redo" came 10 days later, ooops same size. When asked if it was even redone the employee at the store (Bruce) wondered if maybe a different tape measure was used?! Really? The manager Justin was to give us a call back and no call ever occurred. I wonder if this review will help them improve in the future? read more

I don't usually write a review but Bruce was so kind and went the extra mile to make sure we buy the right mattress for us. A lot of stores are just about the sale and not about the customer. The store had a great selection of mattress but the key that closed the deal for us was Bruce. He was kind and very detailed about explaining everything about the different mattresses. Went in this morning to buy a mattress, knew what brand I wanted and what size as well. The only thing we had to test was if we wanted firm or medium. Quick debate was made and at this time another couple walked in and was looking around, the sales associate went to greet them. When he came back to us and we told him we know which one we wanted and ready to buy, he brushed us off and went to the other couple that came in later than us and they continued to have locker room talk while we sat and waited. We got tired of waiting and went down the street to Mattress Firm and they were amazing! They showed us our options, they had the latest and greatest, we picked the one we want and purchased it there. Amazing service at Mattress Firm, we spent no more than 20 minutes there. Will definitely go back to Mattress Firm for future purchase and not this place. read more

DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY HERE! - could not be more disappointed in a mattress store. My parents bought an incredibly expensive mattress from here and when it started to sag, they contacted the company about the warranty. Even though they were over the limits of sagging to warrant a new mattress, they were told because of what was described by the inspector as a "faint" stain they was NOTHING that could be done. How could a stain cause a defective mattress - which they will need to throw out - be grounds for denying a warranty claim? This is beyond ridiculous. Why even offer a warranty if you are going to use every little thing to avoid paying out on it? UNFAIR business. read more

Thinking of buying a mattress at ORTHO ? DON"T ! Salesmen use the used car method. Unfortunately, I did purchase one . If you need customer service after your purchase you'll have to pay ahead before they send someone out! Customer service was worthless. We bought frame that was adjustable, which colasped. After we contacted their corporate office they basically said that it has never happened before and they don't know what we did to the bed. We are in our 70's and told them we weren't jumping on the bed! Needless to say we paid for someone to come out to fix. They sent a guy who came with no tools looked at the problem and reported back he couldn't repair it. No solution was even suggested. read more

Wanted to buy a mattress, and started with Jerome's. After having the worst salesman ever, I decided to go local and met Bill. I told him my price range and he wasn't pushy, he just genuinely wanted to help. I tried a couple mattresses, and told him I wanted a good one since my back has been hurting. He helped me through the whole process, including 24 month no apr financing, free delivery, and they took my old mattress / frame. Was super easy, and I've never gotten better sleep, and my back is already feeling better. Bought the mattress on Monday, and was sleeping in it on Wednesday. She was very knowledgeable explaining the FAB (features, advantages and benefits) on many mattresses they carry and knew her competitors warranty and return policy very well. My buying experience was great. I was able to receive a generous discount with all the sales going on and my sales rep, Cliff McKinley, was super responsive... Up until he made the sale. Then, any questions I had going forward, he was nowhere to be found. The store never knew where he was. And the store, said they would help with my issue and look into why I wasn't being reimbursed for a part of my mattress. They never called me back to let me know the status of the issue. After calling and asking multiple times to call back whether they resolved anything or not. Not one phone call back. During our mattress shopping adventure today, we actually stopped in Ortho Mattress unexpectedly, since we just spotted the store during our drive. We had planned on checking out several big retail stores, but ended up LOVING Ortho, for so many reasons! PROS: Local, USA-made, well-constructed, outstanding service, good warranty, price is a fraction of other comparable name brands. Ortho Mattress is a LOCAL and IN-HOUSE brand. They only exist in SoCal, and they are the direct and exclusive retailers of their mattresses, so compares to commercial name brands like Sealy and Beauty Rest, their prices were a fraction of the cost! The Ortho brand mattresses are VERY well made. The sides are all reinforced so that when you sit on the edge of the bed, you are fully supported. Most mattresses don't have that feature! The mattress itself is super comfortable and supported, and comfortable for the side, back, and stomach sleeper, which is what myself and my wife are. BILL was our sales rep and he was super helpful, patient, informative, and was not pushy at all. We took our time deciding which size mattress to get and which accessories we needed, and Bill was patient throughout our indecisiveness. It made this potentially stressful process really easy for us to handle. We are so thankful we accidentally stopped by here, and we ended up purchasing a Cal King Ortho Mattress, a comfy new pillow and a mattress protector, all for a great price! HORRIBLE! We spent $5000 on 2 Simmons mattresses and they lasted only 1 year. The mattress seriously sags causing both of us to have bad back muscle spasms and cramps and the pillow top has delaminated and puffs away from the mattress in waves. We put in a warranty claim and if there is ANY marks at all on the mattress they void the warranty, not to mention that the inspector said that it was 1 inch short off their "allowance" for sagging. Now we are stuck with two mattresses we don't want and have had to buy a second hand Tempurpedic since we can't afford to buy another new mattress. Not to mention the physio and chiro bills! Do not buy from them if you expect to get warrenty if the mattress that they sell doesn't hold up like they say it will! read more

Beware this place may be a scam. My husband and I just bought a very expensive Cal King mattress which was supposedly on sale. The deal was that there were 2 free gel pillows (MSRP $100/pillow****eye roll*****) that came with the mattress along with a $150 discount. We did not ask for the pillows or want the pillows, the sales rep said it was part of the promotion!!!! We bought the mattress and paid IN FULL and the mattress was delivered the next day. Now, 4 days later they call us to tell us we did not pay enough money and they want us to pay for the pillows.....like we stole them or something. They do not take the pillows back because pillows are final sale. I will be calling my credit card company ASAP warning not to honor any additional charges if this place decides to charge us more after the sale was completed. read more

Came here the other day with a friend, and needless to say, we won't be returning back. We explained to the salesman what we were looking for in a bed, the low back pain problems that we were hoping to alleviate, etc. Just to help narrow down a few that we could try out. The guy shows us a temperpudic bed, and it's a bit too soft. So we ask about something else that's a bit more firm. He essentially says that they all feel about the same. We're trying to get him to show us some other ones that are medium soft/firm and he doesnt seem to want to show us any other beds. So we start asking him about near by beds directly. And whenever I tried asking him about a certain bed, like what is so good about this particular brand/bed, he would respond sarcastically. "What about that bed? What about all the beds here? You can try every single one if you want to find out how they are." I was dumbfounded and frustrated that he wouldn't help us narrow some beds down. We didn't care about price point, just finding something that works. When he asked about our price range, we said we didn't necessarily have one. And as soon as we said that, he leads us to the beds in the front of the store. Claiming that they are the number one beds in the world, and their most expensive ones. By that point we could tell that he just wanted us to buy an expensive bed, and we couldn't get him to show us anything else that might suit our needs, something that a couple other mattress stores did without hesitation and without the feeling that they were just trying to push a sale on us. We simply left. All in all, it was the most unpleasant experience I've had with a salesperson. read more

I always drive by this place so when my husband and I decided to buy a new mattress they immediately came to mind. We went in on a Sat morning with out toddler and spoke to the store manager. What a fantastic experience!! He listened to our needs and helped us to find the perfect mattress. It is truly amazing! I need to update my last review of Ortho Mattress....since the time of that review I have regained my faith in Ortho Mattress and their customer service team. They really ended up bending over backwards for us to help replace our sagging mattress and replace it with a brand new one. We had liked our old Tempurpedic mattress, but the off-gassing smell associated with a new one was preventing us from making that choice again. Ortho actually worked with us to get us a new Tempurpedic (in exchange for the sagging Sterns & Foster) and they kept this new mattress in their warehouse for us for 2 weeks - running fans on it - to off-gas it for us before delivering it to our home. We are very grateful to Leti and her team of customer service professionals for the integrity with which they conducted their business. Thank you! read more

I was forced into buying a memory foam mattress because of back pain, and it really was pretty overwhelming trying to do research. I walked into Ortho Mattress, said a basic sketch of what I thought I needed, and Bruce gave several options. He was patient and really honest - not acting like he knew more than he did, or less, and also had a good sense of humor. He was really fair and easy when it came to the money negotiation, also. Horrible customer service. I put a $200 cash deposit on a mattress set and I had to wait over 2 weeks to receive my CHECK! I give cash and they send me a check, company policy. Not happy. Choosing a mattress went well since I knew what I wanted. But, the delivery guys did not set up the bed, they left the mattress leaning against the wall wrapped in plastic and the frame in its cardboard box. Called the store to complain and the salesman was not very helpful. I rescheduled them to return to setup bed and take trash away. The scheduler called me the next day to say they would be there within an hour and they never arrived. I called back and they said my delivery was scheduled for much later. They called again to say it would be an hour and when I asked about the no-show, they said they had called the wrong number. Huge waste of my time. And now I'm pretty sure it's the wrong mattress. The first night my mother slept on her bed she called me in the middle of the night and told me the bed was already used and had a hole in the middle. I thought my mother was exaggerating so I went to her place the next day and layed on it. She was right. ...the bed was used and had a hole in the middle. The new beds are supposed to be harder and broken in. I know I been buying beds for 10 years. I told her to talk to the big nosed guy at the door Of course instead of helping us he tried to throw a sales pitch at my mom to exchange beds.
