Unprofessional staff she was a white older lady white short hair I didn't get her name. My 4 year old has adhd and SPD and she was looking at the toy selection and jumping around when an old lady was literally behind my daughter at all times harassing her since i got there till we left.I purchased some dvds and a toy as I was leaving I could hear her bad mouthing my 4 year old daughter to another volunteer. I was so upset I confronted her and I told her she was being rude and I heard her bad mouthing my daughter she got snappy with me and kept talking about how bad my daughter was and I told her she has adhd and quickly responded to me and said her grandson does too I then told her so you should be more understanding and left . They have such a large selection of home goods, furniture, and unique finds! While they do offer a lot of clothing and accessories, I love to come here to find kitchen necessities, books, and home decor. As always with thrifting, you never know what you will find and sometimes it's just a hit or miss. Make sure to try coming multiple times because your finds may surprise you! read more

This is a small resale store adjacent to the Sprouts with narrow aisles. While the inventory is well organized, almost all of the items we examined were quite used. Prices were high for the quality. The service staff was pleasant and very polite. read more

With perfectly good intentions I came to this shop 2 hours ago to inquire about donating a chaise lounge. Little did I know, the staff there (1 particular woman) is rude, obnoxious, and completely lacking in basic manners. I simply wanted to know their policy.... Do they accept furniture, if so, at what time, etc.? Instead of simply answering my questions I was barked at..!!! Perhaps assuming that I was planning to bring a beat up and dirty lounge, the staff member nastily declared that it better be in good condition, better be brought between 10 and noon, and better be prepared to have the item rejected. I could live with every one of her concerns. I'm sure some people bring items that are so severely worn or outdated that they have zero value. My beef was her ATTITUDE. She treated my wife and I like we were the crap she assumed we'd be bringing. Thing is, I do not like to be snapped at. Thing is, I personally have 45+ years of furniture industry experience and prefer not to be treated like a vagrant. Thing is, the chaise lounge in question was only used for 2-3 months and is in perfect condition; an item that someone will love to have. Thing is, I will never enter this establishment again either as a consumer or benefactor. read more

I found this resale store a couple of months ago and it has become my absolute favorite. Every-time I go I leave with an entire pile of fantastic pieces that are fairly priced and in great condition. I loved this place so much! I've been coming here for a while. There's a really awesome lady with blonde hair that is just wonderful! But they recently hired a new guy that is the complete opposite. He wears a mask and toys r us vest. He was super rude to everyone in my family. Had a terrible vibe and it was his way or else. I don't know if it's the guy that just made everyone grouchy because even the older guy at the register was being super rude. I'm not going to come back if that guy is there and you're going to lose service if he continues being that way to customers. I would give it one star but I'm giving it two because the lady is wonderful! read more

Nice little place in Encinitas. Close to several other thrift and consignment places which makes this an easy add-on spot. Like the organization of the store and that they have both men's and women's clothes. The prices were great with almost everything under $10, (even with tags), and they had a good selection of brands (j crew, banana republic, express, h&m, Ann Taylor, etc.) though I didn't see any high end designer stuff. They have three roomy dressing rooms, and tons of hanger space inside which is nice. To get to five stars I'd love to see things organized by size and not just type. read more

Stopped in for a quick look around the store. In the front they have a small section of "designer" clothing, not necessarily high-end brands but I guess the type of brands you'd see at Nordstrom or something. Pricing was mixed some pricier stuff and a lot of cheap stuff too. I found a pair of designer jeans for $8 and they have the Yelp check-in offer for 20% off so I got a great deal. The inventory is smaller but not bad, easy to comb through the racks. read more

I cannot speak highly enough about the store manager Robert. Without a single doubt in my mind this man is one of the most caring, humble individuals out there. A heart made of gold. What he does for the community is unbelievable. It is because of him, his staff and there great treasures that makes this place the BEST resale store. This place has the worst people!!! Stay away! Take your donation items and business elsewhere! The first time I came here, I could not find the area to drop off donated items. I had really nice things... Wool business suit and other professional clothing, ski wear - everything was in great condition and I really looked forward to giving it to a great cause. First off, the guy who was working at the counter was extremely rude. I watched as an elderly woman was asking about the kinds of items they accepted because she had some antique furniture she wanted to donate. She had a difficult time hearing the man at the register (probably because he was talking behind glass and had a face mask on during COVID) and asked him to repeat himself. I watched as this guy visibly was put out that he had to repeat himself and his tone of voice was very rude. The lady apologized (to him!) for inconveniencing him. I should have left right then and there, taking that as a cue that this place did not deserve anything. When I asked the guy where to pull up to donate, he was curt with me too. Next, I pulled in back and this young guy showed up to "help" me but he was no help at all. First thing he tells me is that everything has to be in bags. I told him that it would be helpful if they had posted that on their website or had bags available for people. (I had driven a distance just to come to this place!) He just said "sorry" and watched me scramble to try to work something out. I explained that everything was just dry cleaned and in plastic, hoping that would work... Nope! So I looked in the bins and searched out for some plastic bags, which I found (no thanks to the unhelpful guy) and shoved as much as I could into them (which made me cringe with the suits!). This was not even my WORST experience! That happened just yesterday when my husband and I pulled up 15 - 20 minutes early to donate some items (still in boxes and like new). The bins were out and no one was around. By the time I put four paper bags of things into the cart and was preparing to leave, a guy showed up and said, "I'm not ready for you yet." I'm thinking, "Yeah, well, it's all in there now. I'm ready to go." I told him it was a bit late and he just repeated himself. No explanations - just "not ready yet." At this point I just said, "too bad, I guess" to which the man threatened me that if I did not reclaim my donation that he would call the police and had my license plate! REALLY?!! So I got out and grabbed the items and said, "You know, you guys were absolute d!cks to me last time and I thought I would try again but you don't deserve anything!" I went to the VA donation spot in Oceanside who were very happy to receive my things. Unlike the CRC resale store, they approached me with a smile, asked if they could help take the things for me, and thanked me. It's not asking too much for a little kindness, a little support...when you are GIVING nice things (not trash) to donation places. The CRC store and donation center staff needs some SERIOUS training in basic customer service skills!! read more

Love this Thrift store. Prices were great . Got a pair of Onzie yoga leggings for 3.00. Perfect condition. Found a I Love Lucy book for 8.00. The people were so friendly. The gentleman at the register was cute and jokes around . Nice to see people laugh. They loved my dogs which makes me happy and their dog was sweet. I don't even want to put one star. This place blows my mind. This CRC is in a beautiful, nicer part of CA and the fact that staff are grumpy EVERY time and turn people away for donating their nice things infuriates me. Staff is rude, barley around, and just unhappy to be there. I have worked in non-profit work, endless hospitality jobs (10+ years), and study human rights in college and in every day life. I'm all for people having good days and bad days, and understand the circumstances we're in - but wow. For the store and the mission Crc's are supposed to promote, this one is pretty fake. I'm not sure why I keep coming here to drop my things off (been coming for years) - but I'm over it just like most of the people on these reviews claim. CRC Encinitas - have a store meeting and start proper training. Hospitality training. Your team needs to be better, especially for the cause you guys are trying to achieve. read more

I've stopped in and have purchased from this location (Enc. Blvd) a couple of times over the last 3-4 months. The other day I decided it would be the last because of a few things that have and continue to bother me. First, their prices reflect more of what you'd expect to find from retail (retail = new and had to be purchased first before store can resell the item; resale/thrift shops are neither of those things). Second, one or two of the employees (even some the volunteers which I don't understand) are not the friendliest; even a little snooty. :( Third, the music is so unbelievably loud; a friend of mine said the same thing to me recently. All that really makes me want to do is hurry up and leave. (not shop and spend $) I love shopping at thrift stores! I've been doing so for years and years, and am sad I'm not going back to this one because it really does have potential. read more

I love this place! They're always so nice when I go there with my little kiddos. Although they don't have a good selection of kids clothes unfortunately. They have a nice array of clothing, especially on the high-end rack. And I've bought some great furniture/ toys there, such as a practically new radio flyer wagon. I was looking forward to stopping in here for some time. I regularly shop at The Classy Closet so I finally decided to give it a shot. Sadly I was there for no more than 10 minutes because their prices were higher than the classy closets (which is a consignment store) and also much higher than the sale racks at Nordstrom! Don't know how anyone can justify selling/purchasing used clothing and goods for this high. I shop resale because I care about our environment and love supporting small businesses and saving a little money as well. This place is shameful to resale. read more

I am saddened to write this review because I have many fond memories of shopping at the several community resource center thrift shops in Encinitas as a child. Within the last four or five years, the CRC has gone downhill big-time. Their selection is disappointing, their prices are outrageous for a thrift store, and the original team of employees are no longer there. Since they have relocated, I find myself walking in and walking back out within 10 minutes, empty handed. I rarely shop there anymore. read more

Not a very good thrift store. The men's selection was minuscule and they make you go to the grocery store just to use the restroom. There are certainly better thrift stores in the area. This one also felt quite cramped with all of the overpriced items they have adorned everywhere. Not sure if I'd go back. read more
