Special items in the cases

When we visit Oceanside, we always stop by Veterans Thrift. (It used to go by DAV.) I don't know how to describe how many things are in this building, it's massive and packed full of everything you can possibly think of and probably a lot you didn't know existed. We found a pair of men's Lululemon dress pants, wi games, and other odds and ends we felt we couldn't live without. If you love to thrift, you will love this place. They also give a 25% discount to active military and veterans.

I haven't been to this location in awhile and decided to check if out, as I was looking for some holiday inspired items! To my disappointment, some of the prices were rather ridiculous for it being a thrift shop! What was also really annoying is that they didn't have anything dressing rooms, but had the audacity to have "All sales final" signs posted everywhere. I was understand to have " all sales final" if you allowed people to try stuff one, but not when yo don't! Needless to say, I didn't buy anything and I probably won't be returning!

Busy location lots of customers during my visit. Today orange tag 30% off , items with $3.95 does nkt qualify for a discount. All sales are final , no exchange or return. Clothing merchandise arrange by like items, women shorts all in the same shelf etc. . By organizing clothing this way it seems more chaotic for me . We didn't find anything that caught my eyes .

Awesome thrift finds today

Little unorganized but good stuff! Great furniture, the prices are really awesome or absolutely bull donkey! Awesome military discount which I love! They need to do a house cleaning of the bins of junk they have in the back. The line is really long all the time and slow. Great section of things but some of it (a majority) needs to be retired for new things to replace them. Good vintage finds if you can spot them

This place is really good. They have good prices. The staff is friendly and nice. I had a very good experience shopping here they have so much stuff. I love the sales that they have. Hope you enjoy the picture. I got quite a bit of clothing for $30. The woman who helped me that day with Sandra she was very nice.

Lots of interesting finds here

It can be quite chaotic at times due to a slight disarray of goods but fun nonetheless. Not the kind where you'll generally find good records or media but many older electronics and gadgets. Lots of clothes! Cheap compared to the others with many random things other thrift shops don't have like buckets of hockey sticks and garden tools next to a large furniture section. Worth a visit for sure if it's your kinda thing.

We started our Saturday thrifting here. On the hunt for very specific items to create our Halloween costumes and we were shocked that we were able to knock out more than half of our list! Everything is pretty well organized for the most part (to general areas) and the staff was nice. The location is a tad scary but definitely worth braving. Something to add is that they do a military discount with ID and that's pretty awesome too.

The DAV is great but donation hours are ridiculously annoying. I feel it's different everytime. Awkward and inconvenient hours too

Absolutely filthy. It's so poorly organized and I do not think the prices reflect the quality of items.

This used to be our go-to thrift store in the area, because they did have very nice items, but…read morethings have changed significantly over the last several months. First and foremost: their prices are RIDICULOUS, when they didn't use to be just six months ago. They have always been slightly higher than an average thrift store, because their products have been somewhat nicer, but not THAT nice. The last three or four times we've stopped by to browse, we've seen that their prices have DOUBLED or TRIPLED, to the point that they are now, honestly, just as, if not more costly than comparative items bought NEW (!) at retail outlets like Ross or TJ Maxx. This last time I was there, just a couple of days ago, they wanted $4-5 for a USED TEACUP, and $20 for a tiny little 5 x 7 framed print that would have cost $5 bucks at the TWO larger thrift stores that are literally about a stone's throw away, in shopping centers across the street. I was shocked - I doubt that print would have cost $20 when it was NEW! Suffice to say, I didn't buy it... or anything else. We have donated MANY good-quality, gently used items over the past six or seven years, but I will no longer be doing so, at least for the foreseeable future, as this place is, in my opinion, simply put, price-gouging customers. I even mentioned the exorbitant price increases to several associates, who merely smirked and laughed it off. It's not going to be funny when you can't pay your rent, because their customers are going elsewhere - literally, across the street. In addition, as several other reviewers have mentioned, I have also noticed that the staff they now have working there have become very rude and dismissive. Their attitudes have completely changed, compared to even just a few months ago, so I don't know what's happening with this place. So, to that end: I have decided to vote with my wallet and go elsewhere. For example: today, I have been accumulating a large bag of clothing and various household items that I intended to donate when I'm up that way ... but I will be taking it to the Goodwill across the street. I'm not going to support a business which is, in my opinion, ripping people off and who employs associates who are just snide and discourteous. They need to remember, if they want to stay in business, that there are THREE thrift stores almost literally within a stone's throw, just across the street from each other, so their practices and attitudes are going to cost them, as their former customers will just start going elsewhere. I'll stop by in a couple of months to see if anything has changed, in terms of their pricing... and, if not, I hate to say it, but, they've lost a very longtime, loyal customer. Do better, y'all. This is a THRIFT STORE, not a consignment shop or a boutique. You're selling hand-me-downs that the community has donated to a CHARITY. To the owner or upper management: tell those women you have working there to come down off their high-horse and behave like it.

Started coming back here again after not being here for a year…read more Their $1 section has some hidden gems of free people, and nice linen items. They have a pretty cool rewards system, so make sure you get a card when you go in. I suggest taking a photo of the barcode on the back of the card, so even if you don't have it with you physically they can still scan it Their dresses are always really good, but I am still keeping this spot at 4 star because some things in their furniture, name brand section, and new with tags section are just a little pricey in my opinion. I will be coming back. Really nice man who works here and I love the music they play
